Just wondering how many of us there are here. Any tips for making the trip easier? Did you dress the kids alike? Any suggestions for a fun and fabulous time?

There's at least one other one here! Since your screen name is the same, I know you from TC...haven't seen you over there recently, btw.
Anyway, I'm Traci (TC screen name) and have 5 yr old BGG and a 4 yr old B. We are headed to WDW in early October with my 15 yr old stepdaughter and my parents. We haven't been before (Dh and I went back before kids, but I think that's a completely different trip!) so we are verrrry excited. I don't know what to do about dressing alike...I never dress mine alike, but matching WDW t-shirts would be cute. I doubt I could get them to all agree on one shirt though. One would want princesses, one would want some kind of animal, one would want pooh bear, and one would want some totally boy theme. It sure would make them easier to keep up with though.
Good to see you! :wave2:

I haven't been here for a while, but I just started to come back as we might be planning another trip. I have 4 year old twin boys and a 6 year old DS. We went to Disney once when the twins had just turned 2 years old and then again when they were 3.5 years old. My twins are a handful at home but they were terrific at Disney. We had our side by side twin stroller and that was the best way to keep them from wandering off. Sometimes we would park the stroller at one ride and then walk to another ride right after, in those cases I just naturally took charge of one of the twins and he would take the other and usually he would be in charge of our older DS too. We went at Christmas time and it was very busy and I think that made the kids a little nervous so they didn't try to wander off. We didn't necessarily dress the kids in the same t-shirt, but we did generally put all three in the same color so it was easier to remember what to look for when they moved. We really didn't get to do a lot of shopping because kids naturally want to get up and look around and it was just too hard to watch them. The only other time we had any trouble was on the tram from the parking lot and the monorail. Again, we went at the busiest time of the year and even if we were the first ones in line, people would just blow past us because we just couldn't move fast enough with the twin stroller, single stroller (these need to be closed up and carried onto the tram and monorail), three kids, back packs... If you are going at a slower time, it shouldn't be a problem. We found it easier to take the ferry across to the magic kingdom then to fight with people to get on the monorail. One day we were first in line and weren't able to get on three different monorails because people just flew past us. On the ferry you are able to keep the kids in the strollers and there is usually plenty of room. This is all I can think of for now. Good luck.

Another (MOM -- Mom of Multiples) here! I have 3.5 year old fraternal twin dd, 6-yr old singleton ds, and 2-yr old singleton ds. We will be at WDW from May 30th - June 3rd. This will be our first trip. I plan on dressing all of my children in the same color, and the girls will probably be wearing matching shirts. We will also be celebrating the twins birthdays while we are there. Anyone else going at that time?

Count me in! We are taking our 5 year old triplets (gbg) 5/15-5/21. Of course, I hardly ever dress them alike in the "real world," but I'm thinking of buying some matching t-shirts for Disney. I doubt that we'd even stand out - I hear a lot of people with singletons saying they dress their kids alike when at WDW.
How I wish we were staying at a monorail hotel, but we just couldn't justify the difference in cost. Besides, DH says he is more than willing to handle getting the strollers on/off the buses. Wish us luck!
I can't wait!!!!

Me too! I have 5 year old identical twin boys. I also have a 7 year old ds. Our first trip was last year the boys were 4,4 and 6. We dressed the twins alike only because they would get mad at me if I did not put them in the same thing. They now will let me put them in either a different shirt or pants but something has to match. I would say that this is a wonderful age to take them. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them. Have a great time!!!!!!!!! :earboy2:

Twins here too - Boy/girl age 4 and another ds age 9. We will be at Disney June 18-23 (first time also) and we "all" are wearing matching shirts for the 3 days at the parks. Here's what we have so far; Bright red shirts with the Incredibles logo (I was outvoted on this one even by dh). We also have our blue Old Navy 2005 Flag Shirts. I plan to order a matching t-shirt from Disney store and have those personalized. My twins have never been dressed alike, mostly because they are b/g, but we like to have the same t-shirts when on vacation.
For those with multiples that have been to Disney before, any helpful suggestions for a first-timer? I am so excited!!!!!! Even more than my kids!!

hi, mom of 2 year old twin boys and a 12 yo girl, 10yo girl and 7 yo girl. My twins celebrated their 2nd B-Day on the Disney Wonder then spent a few days at the world. This was their 3rd time to the world. I always dress them alike just for the ease of picking thier clothes out. When they get old enough to dress themselves they can pick their clothes out. Make sure you take lots of charater pictures if you can. We love to look back and see the kids with the characters. I made a big collage of charater pictures and hung it in their toy room. My boys are a hoot, we always have fun when we go to Disney! Wish our vacation wasn't over!

We just came home from our 1st Disney Trip on 4/23. We have 5 year old triplet boys. Although the boys were very anti-stroller prior to going to Disney, they quickly learned to love the strollers! I would recommend getting strollers. It is much easier to manuever through the crowds at our pace w/ strollers than to try to hold on to the three of them.
We pretty much stuck to their schedule (6:30 PM bedtime) unless we were doing Fantasmic or Wishes. On those days, all three of the boys took naps. We couldn't believe it because they don't take naps at home. In fact, one of the boys hasn't napped since he's 22 months old! They were so tired from the parks and the hotel pool!
We usually dress them alike and did so at Disney. We went to Donald's breakfast and they dressed as Huey, Duey and Louie. Donald got a big kick out of them and wrote "to my favorite nephew" in their autograph books.
We sent a package to the hotel with breakfast foods and juice boxes and then bought milk at the hotel gift shop. This was really convenient as the boys could eat breakfast in the room while we got ourselves ready for the day.
If you have any questions, please ask! We had a great time and can't wait to go back!

We have fraternal DD 10 yr old and a soon to be 5 yr old. (halloween b-day for the little one)
we had a double stroller for the little one and one twin last time-
do not dress the girls alike anymore- one is a "girly girl" likes skirts, jewlery, bratz stuff (not wearing those jeans) the other likes sweats, sweatshirts, hats- total opposites!
If all 3 were lined up, it looks like a 10,6,4 yr olds (the 2nd twin has medical issues)
they all LOVE disney- we will be going back either for christmas or their birthday beginning of next year.

Twins are 8 (BB) Triplets are 6 (BBG). We will be at Disney June 10-June 18 and are staying at the Polynesian. We stayed at the Polynesian 2 years ago and loved it. I dressed the kids in same color shirts and will do it again this time. We didn't do the stroller thing when we went to the parks last time when they were 4 and 6 because we usually only stayed at the park for a few hours at a time. My kids are really good about holding hands. We also spent alot time relaxing and enjoying the resort. The volcano pool, the Peter Pan Club and Chef Mickey were my kids favorites.

That's amazing. We have DD 22, DS 19, twins(BG) 8, and DD 7. The older ones don't come anymore, but the younger three love Disney. We try to go once a year. Let the kids have a part in the planning and try not to get overwhelmed. We like to do a park, rest at the resort, and then hop to a different park. Have fun!

WOW
we have only - triplets 14 yo(BBG) and DD 20 mnths.
our experience(s) is DD has been once (going again 2x this yr.)
Triplets have been 7x When they were little we used to dress them in whatever was their favorite character (sometimes the same) We rented 1 twin stroller & used 1 single when they were small.
Best advice we ever got was to take an afternoon break of swimming with a nap after. We also always rent a van, as we like to go to cross roads for dinner.
Have fun!!! :flower:

i'm here ,too!!! ...but you already know that because you've helped me so immensely regarding the atlanta drive....
i usually dress the kids similarly (same weight of clothes, same level of coverage, same level of comfort, etc.), so i have packed somewhat coordinating clothes, for the most part.
my girls are identical, so it is really important for me that they have their "own" colors on while in the park (yellow or purple for one, and red or pink for the other). this way, in an emergency, i don't have to "think" about who is who (and at 2 1/2, they are already at the point where they will ignore me if i am calling out the wrong name, even if i am looking directly at me...which certainly seems fair!!)
as for other tips, i'm not sure i can help as mine are so much younger than yours, but i will post a trip report when i return....
(btw, not sure of you check on tc very often, but that was me asking about crying in hotel rooms!! i wanted to get an idea of how other MoMs handle it!)

We leave on Friday morning, driving up from Miami. We're going to celebrate my fraternal twin boys turning 1 year. We recently moved to FL and have no friends or family here, so it's our way to make this milestone special (and an excuse for Mom to go to Disney...shhhhh :ssst: )
My boys wear coordinating clothes but not matching. We will be bringing our double stroller with the REALLY LARGE royal blue sun visor. Oh, and we are staying at the Contemporary for the monorail convenience, we got a fantastic rate through Magical Journeys travel agency.
Mine are both singletons! But my brother has GB twins (13 months) and my sister has GG twins (11 months), add my DD (10 months) to the mix and it sure gets loud at the holidays!! Good luck to you all!!

Mine are both singletons!
I knew you must have multiples in your family to use the word 'singleton'! ;) That's just not in the daily vocabulary of most parents. I would have NEVER thought to call a baby or child a singleton until I had multiples. Boy does life change (in more ways than you think!) :goodvibes
I have 9 y.o. fraternal dds, and a 7y.o. dd. We first took them to WDW when the twins were 6, and my little one was 5. We dressed all three alike most days, which made it much easier to keep track of them!
We returned to WDW in Oct. 2004, and my twins turned 9 while we were there(10/29). The girls said that it was the best day they have ever had! I made them matching birthday shirts ( and an un-birthday shirt for my youngest), which got them a lot of attention from cast members, as well as other guests (Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum especially liked them!). We even got picked to open up the MK with Mickey and the gang! It was like a dream, riding the train from Toontown with all of those characters, and then throwing pixie dust out on the crowd just before the gates opened! :wizard: After the opening festivities, we ate breakfast with Cinderella! I couldn't have imagined a better day for my girls!
Of course, now, we are heading back in July to celebrate my youngest's b-day (7/7). She talked us into it, although I think my DH put the idea into her head! It is hard to be the younger sister of twin sisters (they are only 1 grade apart in school), so it was hard to turn her down. Besides, I have an annual pass to make the most of!
You will have a great time on your trip! Just be flexible, and don't rush too much. Enjoy!

We are DVC members so we stay in a 2 bdroom villa. They are expensive but if you rent points from a member it can be reasonable. I know alot of people get adjoining rooms for a family of 6. It is crazy that most rooms don't accomodate more than 4 people. I am finding this to be a big problem as we try to book our Disney cruise fo next year.

I couldn't resist posting to this thread! We have surviving triplets (GB^i^B) that are almost 3 1/2 and a DS that is 6. We'll be leaving for WDW on May 28th. The entire family wears matching shirts when we go because it makes it SOOOO much easier to find everyone in the crowd. This will be our third trip in a year (getting the most of our annual pass) and the days with matching shirts have been much less hectic that without. I buy cheap tees wholesale and make our own "logo" for the trip with print out iron-ons. The kids love the attention they get with the shirts too. We had their names on the back and DS thought it was pretty cool that Peter Pan knew his name.
We use umbrella strollers with the connector for the two little ones. Easier to collapse to get on the buses and train. We stay off-property in a timeshare so space isn't a problem for us.

Our fraternal boys are almost 11 (in May). Also have DD almost 8 (in June), DS5, and DD4. I love Disney and have managed to "share the love" with all of them. Together we are working on my husband! We've been to Disney in Feb. 2004 and 2005. The 3 older pack for themselves (with a list I provide), so no matching outfits. G/B twins that are 14 and DD that is 17. It seems so long ago that I was dealing with the "challenges" of twins (double the diapers, twin strollers, etc) Now they are just 2 teenagers, no one even knows they are twins.
The twins get along really well together, so sometimes DD17 feels like the odd man out. We all still love our trips to Disney together.

Twins here: never dressed them alike at home or when we travelled to Disney. I didn't even own any matching outfits. They had too many hand-me-downs from their older sibling.
I do have a question for those that dress them alike all the time: what did you do when they were babies and one got spitup or something worse on her outfit, did you then have to change them both even though only one was dirty?
I didn't use a twin stroller at Disney as it was too bulky to manuever. I used two umbrella strollers with my husband pushing one while I pushed the other.

We do disney twice a year (gotta love those annual passes) and Disney Magic cruise 1-2 times a year. Love their kids programming.
Going back in June and the little ones can't wait. They watch the vacation planning dvd and disney cruise planning dvd all the time. Their favorite hotel is animal kingdom lodge but we are spending a few days at the nick hotel this time because dd3 is dora obsessed.
This will be our first trip with NO diapers as twinkies are potty trained and life is going to be so good lugging around much smaller backpack!!

I am new to posting on the family board but I have a DD age 3 and DD and DS are 10 months old (as of yesterday). we're going to WDW in September, from the 11th-23rd. We're planning on ten park days and maybe taking that Saturday off to hang around the resort and visit Celebration (where we'd eventually like to live). But it will depend because if that is the only night with Spectro & wishes, that will be our priority. I'm curious, for those of you with 3 or more who are "stroller aged" how did you handle that. Did you take buses at all or drive to the parks? DD3 still likes her stroller so we're planning on having to bring it. Both DH and I hate pushing an umbrella stroller so it will probably be a regular stroller plus the Graco double. Any advice on buses? Should we just make our lives easier and drive? Any advice would be great, DD3 has been once before, when she was 22 months but this is our first time with all three! Thanks in advance!

We went at the beginning of this month with 10 month old triplets. :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: We have a Maclaren Twin Traveller and a Maclaren Techno XT. We thought that is was much easier to drive. We pulled up to the front of the parking area and unloaded then the driver went and parked and met us at the park entrance. By doing this, we did not have to fold the strollers to get on the trams. We didn't have to fold the strollers on the ferry boat or the monorail. So once we put the boys in their strollers, we got them comfortable, loaded the stuff in the baskets and we were set to go! Driving also allowed us the freedom of leaving at park close without having to wait forever on a bus. Parking is free for resort guests, so we took advantage of it:) Good luck and have fun!

We found it easier to drive to Ak, and I would say any others that you could walk from the parking lot. We stayed at BWV and walked to EPCOT and MGM. We found that it was easier to take the bus to MK, becasue once you park, you usually still take a tram and then the boat or monorail. It was alot of loading and unloading. Is there any other adults going with you

We've done this exact thing!!
Twin DD's here!! Age 8 (going on 16!)!!
We usually dress them alike so that they are easily spotted! On our last trip when they were 6, we thought we could go without the stroller, but after about 3 hours of walking, they asked to ride!! We found it was much easier for us to have them in a stroller.
We're not sure how they are going to handle it this year. They are pretty petite for their age, so they will still fit in a double stroller. I don't know why they can run the whole soccer field in a game, but get tired at WDW!

How small do the maclarens fold up? how is the basket situation? We may be looking at needing new stroller(s) and are considering the Maclarens. i guess a trip to Babies R Us to try them all out is in order but it's always nice to hear from someone with real life experience with the strollers. The ones we have are in great shape, the only problem is that we'll be driving and none of them fold small. We want to try to bring our Honda CR-V instead of our van, if all the carseats and boosters fit since it's only got 20,000 miles on it and our van has 120,000. LOL, so if it folds small that may be a major selling point. Also, is it easy to push? DH is 6'4 and I'm 5'4 so that's a concern too. Thanks so much! :goodvibes

Hey. The Maclaren fold very down very small especially when compared to the Ped Triple Stroller and the other doubles. You can fold them with one hand....which helps when you have a baby in the other. They push very very well. Very smooth, light, and balanced. At times our four year old will ride in one seat with an infant in the other seat and the stroller still glides evenly and smooth. The Techno XT (single) will flip if you take the baby out and have bags hanging on the back....the double will not. The height on the strollers are great. The single's handle extend, but both strollers can be comfortably pushed my someone well over 6'. They recline fully and have little legrests that the boys seem to enjoy. The basket are fairly small, but it really wasn't a problem for us. We used an open top tote bag to put diapers/wipes/food, etc. It fit perfectly down into the basket. On the back of the canopy their is a velcro puch and a mesh pouch. We stored wallets, cell phones, and even bottles in these. We absolutely love the Maclaren strollers. We got them off of E-Bay, both New in the box. The Techno XT was $200.00 and the Twin Traveller was $275.00, that includes shipping. So we saved almost $200.00 by getting them off ebay. Good luck stroller shopping! We have decided that with 3 babies, we needed the most compact stroller, so we definitely shopped around!

I have 4 year old twin boys and a 7 year old boy. There first trip was last June. It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be, they had the best time. I had enough adults with me that my oldest son got to do all of the big rides. My stepmother and I did alot of other things with the twins. I dressed them all in the same color shirts because I thought it would be easier to keep track of them. :)

Wow - have a wonderful trip! We took our fraternal twin girls to WDW this past December when they were 21 months old! I tend to dress them in outfits that are the same, but different colors, for the most part, but do also dress them alike.
Their grandmother bought them adorable Minnie Mouse dresses before the trip so we have some great character pictures. Our most magical moment was when we were in line for pictures with Minnie and Donald. We were first in like for the next sitting. The two other character lines were moving, but ours wasn't. Donald, himself, got impatient and came out to take the next family in - took a girl by each hand and they marched into the room. Have a great shot of that one!
I do think it is important to have outfits that you can pick out in a crowd if you have too.
Again - have a great trip. We will be there again May 17th through the 25th - hoping the Minnie Mouse dresses still fit :sunny:

Hi there
My DH and I are taking our first trip with our three DD's
We are going to Disneyland in the fall. Our fraternal DD's will be 4 and our eldest will have her 6th Birthday while we are there. :bday:
Thanks for the suggestions about the strollers. I will definitely want to have a stroller, but am wondering if I should rent one or bring ours.
We will be staying at a hotel with a shuttle to DL...is it easy to get the stroller on and off the shuttle? :confused3
I will probably put all the same baseball hat on my kids (pink of course) so that I can spot them more easily. I doubt they will want to dress alike although I try to do this everyday. I do get away with it when we go to church. I buy three of the same dress. It is a lot easier to get them all dressed in the morning when you just grab three of something. It is a lot easier than making them coordinate. They usually dress themselves at home, which I love, but that takes a while....and I don't think mommy and daddy will want to waste time in the mornings we will be too excited.  and will want to get going.
We will be booking character breakfasts / lunches with the princesses. It will be so magical. ::MinnieMo princess:
We are very excited. I've only just begun to explore all the possiblities. :jumping1:

My twins boys are almost four and will be four years 3 months when we hit the parks this time. They also have an older brother 24 months older plus a sister who will turn 10 on our trip.

Actually just last night DH and I were thinking of canceling/shortening our Disney part of the vacation. We're going to FL for a 7 day cruise and thought it would be fun to hit the parks before the cruise. But now we're rethinking it. Our boys are so wild and crazy, don't like to listen to us, and I'm afraid it's just going to be too much for them. We're taking two single umbrella strollers with the connectors; I hope that is enough to keep them happy (plus snacks and lots of drinks!). We'll be there for three days.

We have 8 year-old quads: GGGB. Because their bday is in April it is often over Easter break so of course that means WDW! On bday #7 we stayed at WL and on their actual birthday we got to be the flag family of the day -- that was a really special Disney experience. Next WDW bday will be when we turn 9 in '06 and we're planing a surprise of 3 nights for just our family before we meet up with extended family for a Grand Gathering at GF. And regarding dressing alike - when they were younger I'd do it all the time especially if we'd be in a big crowd. Now that they are older the one thing I still try to keep the same (or at least similar) is bathing suits so they kids are easier to spot at the pools or water parks - and the brighter the colors, the better!

I have 2 year old identical boys and a 3 year old daughter. 3 babies in 13 months! We are going to WDW in Sept. for 6 days. It is our first trip. DH thinks they are too young, but I think they are the perfect age. I dress the boys in matching outfits because it is so cute, and they are still too young to object!!
I just got a new Maclaren double stroller for our trip. We love it. Will probably rent a stroller for DD.
We are staying at Pop Century in connecting rooms. It was $1000 cheaper than getting a 1 bedroom at the least expensive DVC. (renting from Disney, not with points).
The trip will have its challenges, but the children's reactions will be priceless!
Planning a Disney Cruise for 2007!

a lot of times when strangers stop me and say "triplets?" (like the answer somehow effects their life  ) I just smile and make a non committal hmm an keep walking. :rotfl:
I realized last night I never answered the "how do you do disney" questions
1. strollers. definitely. a double and a single (both umbrellas since they don't use them any more at home. they are small and have short legs and would never be able to walk that long - my goodness on the day we went to MK we walked 11 miles! (I wore a pedometer) - but more importantly I like to be able to contain them! ( :Pinkbounc :bounce: :jumping3: )
2. matching clothes. I NEVER EVER dress them a like at home but in the parks I find it easier to identify them quickly if they are all wearing one color (or stripes or tie dye).
3. rooms. We like to travel with a set of grandparents (or two!). they take the second room and one child usually sleeps with them. We also get a built on baby sitter that way :teeth:

We have 5 yr old twin girls, also DD12, DD10, DS9. Twins have been to Disney twice, once when they were two and then again this past April.
Strollers are a must for sure and makes touring the parks so much easier. As far as dressing them alike, I pretty much took their lead, some days they like to and others they dont. My twins were like night and day on the last trip, but we had a ball with them. Have a great time!!!

My identical twin girls are 18. They took their first trip to WDW at 2. I learned the hard way that I should have always labeled photos of them when they were little with which was which. I never ever had trouble telling them apart in person, but looking back at old pictures, now I'm not always sure!

I'm so glad this thread was "bumped". I can believe I missed it! We have 8.5 year old GBG triplets. Going to the world Oct 1-8 for the second time. Staying in two connecting rooms at the ASMo. Can't wait! We never dress the kids alike. They wouldn't go for it. I personally think it's harder to keep track of the kids as they get older & can wander off by themselves, instead of having them secured in a stroller. Last time we were at WDW, lost DD once, but didn't even know it until she caught up with us & read us the riot act for leaving her. (It was during a parade, we turned one way, thought she was with us, but she wasn't.) Of course, now she won't let us forget we "lost her". There's another thing she'll need therapy for! :teeth:

We have identical twin dds who will celebrate their 12th b-day in March on the Wonder. Their b-day is spring break so we're always somewhere other than home - usually WDW. Younger dd is 8 1/2.
First trip to WDW was when the twins were 2. When they were little, I dressed them alike. Until the twins grew out of the 7-14 sizes, I would buy all three matching tops for WDW so they were easy to find in the crowd. (Looked good in photos too!) Now, I don't need to worry about them "wandering." Not to mention they wouldn't be caught dead in matching clothes.
