What exactly are quiet pools?

Well, they can vary but usually they are pools without a snack bar/restaurant or a slide. "Just a pool" so to speak. At OKW two of these are a bit smaller than the other two "main" pools. At BWV it's a fairly large pool.

As Pam OKW says they are 'just a pool'.

In theory at least, the lack of slides and so on, should ensure that children prefer the main pool, and they are therefore quiet enough to sunbathe poolside and read a book quietly.

In practice, this is not always the case! On occasion you can get families with screaming children jumping into the pool.

'quiet pools' don't have lifeguards (at least not at Boardwalk).

Thank you. i was thinking there might have been a child free rule or something of that nature.
So, it's just a pool with no frills.

No child free rule. In fact the OKW "quiet" (smaller) pools each have a play area with sand and a swing at them. I like the intimate nature of the "quiet" pools. There are usually fewer people, a small play area, a hot tub, laundry, and BBQ facilities at each. It is kind of like a little community park.:)

Andrew -- Excellent point about the lack of a lifeguard at a quiet pool. I think that is standard for all of them.
