Help!!!!! Atlantis Resort Excursions

Ok Ok let's try this again, do we need to do the Atlantis Excurson or can we just grab a cab and go over there to tour on our own. Any response would be helpful, since this will be our 1st cruise. There are four of us, but one will likely be in the casino more than the rest of us. Is there any shopping to be done at the Atlantis Resort? We will be on the May 15th Wonder. :cool1:

We have gone to Atlantis a few times. We didn't do any of the set excursions. Just took a cab over to wander around. My sister and some of the kids walked through the aquarium. Guess it wasn't all that grand, but it's hard to compete with Baltimore & Monterey. A few of us just hung around & hit the slot machines. We are all pretty cheap gamblers. There are some shops, but I didn't go in any of them. Looked like high end merchandise. If you don't go in to the aquarium, you can still spend a few minutes watching the sea life along the glass wall on the lower level. That was enough for me & my little one. For her, a fish is a fish. Last October, I purchased a one night stay at Atlantis for our cruise (175.00+tax) for family of four on Expedia. We were able to get an oceanview room and were given wrist bands which gave us access to all Atlantis faciliities. It was well worth the money.

Atlantis has just posted some last minute room rates for May at $99 per night. Not sure what the effective dates are just know that you have to stay in May 05
