For anyone near Highlands Ranch, I recommend a visit to U.S. Toy & Constructive Playthings at County Line Road and Quebec Street. They have a ton of Pirate goodies pirate: (all the way in the far back corner of the store) and "beach containers," those plastic, waterproof carriers for you KTTW card, cash, smokes & ID that you can wear around your neck for less than a buck!

I've been looking for pirate stuff so thanks for the lead - U.S. Toys & Constructive Playthings also has a catalog if you aren't by a store :cool1:

Cool! :cool1: Thanks for the heads up! We're in Littleton (far west) so that's just a very short jaunt for us. I'll be making a journey over there soon. Our cruise is at the end of May!

Wish we there there so bad. Left Highlands Ranch in January to come to St. Louis to keep a job. Wish we had stayed! I need to get some pirate stuff for our cruise coming up!
So hello to everyone in Colorado!

Thanks for the heads up! I am over in Littleton so I may have to try to get over there this week.
Jrsy Boy - Thanks for the info. We're a hop, skip and a jump from there and leaving in 18 days for our 7 day western :cool1: :cool1: Definitely will be hitting there this week. :goodvibes
Sharon - That is too funny. We actually lived in O'Fallon for 7 years before moving here 7 years ago. We lived in Aspen Pointe Subdivision off of Mexico Rd. :teeth:

O.K..... while we are on the subject of irony... I have a friend.... that I met on a cruise ship... who lives in Highlands Ranch. I was also born and raised in St. Peters, Mo.... just a few miles down Mexico road from O'fallon. The subdivision I grew up in was Country Estates... which is just off Mexico road. Is anybody else freaked out yet???
I live in Illinois now but still have family in the area. I am sure my friend in Highlands Ranch will be glad to get this info as she is an even bigger obsessive, compulsive planner than I am. We will be on the Magic together in September.
Happy cruising!!!
Trisha - That is way weird :earseek:

Ok, ok, you all are asking for someone from Highlands Ranch and here I am....guess I will have to swing by the good old US Const. before I leave. I still remember when Hobby Lobby was a Wal-Mart :cool1:

Oh, well, I guess I have time before the cruise. (September 2006)

I'm not cruising and I don't need pirate stuff, unless the store carries Johnny Depp lookalikes for sale . HA!
I am from Colorado though, and headed to my new home away from home at BoardWalk Villas in May.
Didn't realize there were that many of us ColoradoDsineyholics on the Disboard.

Tera and Trisha, Way weird...We're in Turtle Creek, right off Mexico.
We miss Colorado and Highlands Ranch terribily. We lived just west of Quebec off of Colliagate. Am hoping to win the lotto and move us all back.
Have some good Mexican food for us cause there is none out here--at least not what we're used to.

Everyone? :earseek: That may take a while, but I'll get started today. At least there are a few on this board who I can skip because they've already seen your message.
Got my Alien Green Mickey Heads ::MickeyMo at Home Depot in Littleton (at Belleview and Federal) on Saturday night.

There are two, actually:
Constructive Playthings www.constplay.com
U.S. Toy www.ustoy.com
The pirate stuff is all on the U.S. Toy site. Just do a search for "pirate" pirate:

I must be the obsesive complusive planner that Trisha was talking about :cool1: . Another one from Highlands Ranch. I can't believe how many of us there are. I NEVER meet anyone from Colo on my cruises! pirate:
Heidi - Yes it's still opened, but it was closed for awhile after the big snowstorm in 2003 :cold:
I am surprised by the amount of Coloradians here also :teeth:

Oh Okay, thats definitely the last time I tried to go there. Yay now I am excited, maybe they will have small rubber ducks that I am looking for, for my sister's baby shower (also lives in Highlands Ranch!!).
I took a cruise last October with someone from CO from the DIS, we never got the chance to meet up though.

Ok guys, include me in that trip to Del Taco and US Construct toys. I thought they had closed down as well. Glad that they are open again.
I didn't realize that there are this many local Coloradoans on the board. I have met 2 DISers on a cruise. One from Littleton and one from the Springs.
By the way, I want a fish taco at Del Taco. Mmmmm, I can taste it already.

I agree!!! I am dreaming of a quesadilla with extra green sauce and wet fries. That Krispy Kreme gives me nightmares, I was one of the crazy people that stood in line for 2 hours when it opened just to buy a dozen of donuts!!!! Now I prefer Lamars over Krispy Kreme!!

We've gone a bit off topic here, but don't look at me to get us back there...
A Lamar's opened in Englewood near CityCenter but was soon after replaced by a Famous Rayfield's Donuts. They may be famous, but it was the first I'd ever heard of them.
Anyone tried Glazed & Confused on 16th Street in Denver?
Of course, I grew up with Dunkin' Donuts...every Sunday morning before church...Hazelnut coffee before each road trip... :earboy2:

I have never heard of a Famous Rayfield's Donuts. Are they any good? I try to avoid the 16th Street Mall so I haven't tried Glazed and Confused. I won't drive down there and trying to find parking at the Light Rail Station in Littleton is usually next to impossible.

And STOP talking about donuts!! ;) It happens to be my favorite FOOD and I haven't had one in weeks!
When is everyone sailing? I will be on the 9/18 Wonder for my daughters 11th Birthday. I have never sailed on the Wonder so, I'm looking forward to it (spolied 7-Nights Cruiser here). We decided on a 4 Night cruise and 3 nights in WDW since we don't get there as often as we would like.

We should do a DISmeet. It would be great.
I will be cruising April 30th and May 14th on the Magic.
*Speaking of Lamar's donuts...I just got a dozen of them so if you guys want to come over you can
Kelsie - Great on the weight loss too. I haven't seen you much around the WISH board... you need to visit us more often :teeth:
Jrsy Boy - I grew up on up on Dunkin Donuts too. Chocolate Old Fashion were my FAV
We're sailing on the Magic in 14 days :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: It'll be our first cruise, so I'm totally excited.
No Dismeet at Krispy Kreme for me... I'm doing Weight Watchers and that will cost me WAY too many points :earboy2: Now our school is doing a Del Taco Night April 27th from 5-8:00, so if you still have that Del Taco craving, stop by :earboy2: I know... that was a shameless plug

Alright I am meeting at DCLcruisers house for some Lamar's donuts.
Unfortunately I will not be sailing this year. I was on the Magic in October '04 and unfortunately am buying a townhome so no money for a cruise. I will probably have to wait for 2 years until another cruise. But my Mom (jiminyC_fan) won't take me on her 2 week cruise!!! (atleast she was nice to me and let me go with her in October!!!!)

Poor Heidi(PoohFriend), being adopted at 25 to a family that lives on the Magic. Poor thing would have to suffer. :rotfl2:
Cristit14 and Tera, I haven't had a donut for so long I can't even remember what they taste like. I figured a DIS meet there would solve my cravings. I wouldn't eat a DOZEN in front of all of you. :rotfl:
We are sailing Aug 20th on the Repo Cruise. It has been a long time waiting. I only wish I would have been more assertive and asked for a specific room. Kelsie is trying to help me! Any SPR would be great. Any of them. A fellow DISer got our normal 5520.
Hey Heidi (PoohFriend), how about a Del Taco night on April 27th? We could wear our lime green shirts and maybe Tera could spot us!

I am so jealous of you, Teresa. With this rain, we could all use a sunny cruise! You have to check back in and let us Coloradoans know how it went on your first cruise. Are you all set? Is it a 3,4 or 7 day cruise? If 7, which one? I know that you have kids so do you need a nanny :teeth: ? We have hit all Disney's ports. That is why the Panama Canal will be perfect for us. Does your WISH challenge mean you lost 50 pounds?? Wow! Way to go! :cheer2:

 Hi Lisa, isn't this thread wonderful?
Hi Lisa and Welcome - Which cruise are you going on? We leave in 9 days!!!!!!
We'll definitely have to set up an "official" DIS meet sometime soon.
Sandy - We have the Capt Marvin excursion planned for Grand Cayman. Figure the girls will either love it or hate it. We'll have to see how it goes. I still read threads about how Grand Cayman is recovering. It'll probably be awhile before they are back to 100%

Teresa - I went to Grand Cayman 3 years ago on a DCL cruise, it was beautiful and by far my favorite port out of all the ports I have been to. I hope you will have a great time because I know I did. I was very sad that in Oct. we had to skip Grand Cayman because I really wanted my mom and dad to see it, but I do understand that it's no where close to when I saw it.
It didn't help that I hated Costa Maya because I was eaten alive there by bugs. I am not a huge Mexico fan because everytime I visit somewhere in Mexico I come back sick, in hives (due to being allergic to whatever they use to purify their water with), and/or eaten alive by bugs!!

I might be able to go on the 25th, but I won't know til closer to time. A weekend meet would also be good, so more people could make it. Where is the Del Taco at? It seems like I saw one one day when I was going somewhere, but I can't remember where it was.
Heidi - You know I just realized that I didn't get to see your "year round tan" with that sweatshirt you had on :earboy2: We'll have to walk over to Krispy Kreme for a birthday donut after Del Taco. Or we could go over to Chuck E Cheese :rotfl:
Cristi - The Del Taco we were at is at County Line and Quebec, right next to Chuck E Cheese and Krispy Kreme :goodvibes
I think a weekend one is a good idea too since most people can't get to that location at that time. I say we hold out for some warmer weather though :sunny:

Teresa - ya unfortuntately you missed my year round tan. Hopefully next meet I can show it off if the weather ever warms up and STOPS snowing!!!! I don't even remember why I got that tag anymore!!!
Yay, can I have my birthday donut with sprinkles!!!!

Heidi, you got that tag because you had a full year of cruises and Mexico and was tan for a solid year.
DCLcruiser, have a wonderful cruise and will talk to you soon.
Cristi, it would be great to meet you next time. Del Taco is one of our favorite fast foods...better than Taco Bell at least! Will we ever have warm weather again??

I'm glad you guys had a great time! I would love to meet some Colo DISers. It seems like I never meet anyone from here on cruises. This year Lisa (constanze) is on our sailing (Sept 17th eastern) so I will look forward to meeting her. I know what you (Jimmy?) mean about Costa Maya. We, too, were divereted there and it was soooooo hot. We got off and before we were off the dock my DH said, "We are no longer here for me, anytime you want to turn around is okay with me!" I just pretended it was an excursion to a different planet.....THE SUN!!!!!!! We are off to Las Vegas tomorrow. Can't say I will miss this weather! YUCK! Have a great one!

Have fun in Las Vegas, Jen. At least you will get away from this cold and snow! You and Lisa will have fun knowing someone on the ship. We have met some wonderful friends on this board that we now travel with. We link our dinner reservations on the ship. We have sailed with them 3 times and went to WDW together one Christmas. In that group, we have young and old, singles and familes. We correspond once (or more sometimes) a day on the board since Feb of 2002.
Have fun in Vegas Jen!!
I am SO over this weather. Something wrong about having to wear my winter coat the end of April :earseek: 6 days from now, we'll be in warm, sunny weather :sunny: :sunny:

When I first started this thread, it was to inform all of you about US Toys & what you could find there. Now I need reciprocity (big word, huh? :teeth: ). I'm still trying to find a few things for our cruise next month and if any of you have any sources to share, I'd appreciate it.
Still trying to find: light up necklaces/bracelets like they sell after dark in the parks, magnetic paper for door signs (found it at Office Max for $12 for 5 sheets :earseek: hoping for cheaper), over door shoe holder and, finally, TSA approved locking luggage straps.
I found Sun Guard by RIT at the Sprawl Mart near Arapahoe Road and Havana for $2.50. They also had the shoe holders for about $6, but I was hoping to find the dollar store version. Any good dollar stores that I should check?
Thanks in advance to the smartest DISers on the entire board! ;)

Glow necklaces - Dollar Tree
Magnet sheets - Walmart
Shoe Holder - Walmart or Dollar Tree
Luggage straps - not a clue!!!!
There is a dollar tree right across the street from Southwest Plaza at Bowles and Cross (next to Joanne's). Not sure where there is any up in Highlands Ranch.
Also try looking for magnet sheets at Big Lots off of Mineral and Broadway....sometimes they have them and iron on transfer sheets.
Jrsy Boy

Looks like that Dollar Tree is the closest one to us. We tried the Dollar Barn near Bowles & Platte Canyon over the weekend, but only found rain ponchos. It was worth the stop, though, because DS8 got a mood ring which he hasn't been able to put down (except to have somebody else try it on to check their mood).
I will check Big Lots, too, since we have one near us at Broadway and Hampden.
Wal-Mart will be my last resort since I was just at that huge one at Arapahoe & Havana. Forgot to look for the magnet paper and the luggage locks while we were there. :sad2:
Heidi - I'm so stinkin' excited, I can hardly sleep at night. I promise to eat as much as I can for you ;)
Jrsy Boy - I ordered glow sticks off Ebay since we use them throughout the year for the kids.
I hate this weather :umbrella:

You guys are so silly! This is Colorado! Who knows what weather tomorrow will bring?
I guess before I started clammering for a weekend meet, I should have mentioned that I work weekends, so it would also depend on my shift. But the good news is that I work at the Disney Store in Park Meadows, so if you did have a weekend meet, I'd already be in Denver! Okay, so that's only good news for me. :teeth:

Blackunicorn - How long have you worked for the Disney store? I am sure my mom and I would have seen you atleast once, we always have to stop by the Disney store and check out the new merchandise!! I use to work at the Gateway Academy right there off of Yosemite, so my boss and I would go to Park Meadows A lot on our lunch (and we couldn't forget to pick up a snickerdoodle at Mrs. Fields!!!)

BlackUnicorn, I worked for the Disney Store at SW Plaza as Holiday help one year. It was my spending money for our first cruise. That is some drive for you! Our Springs Diser friends are home now from Oregon so will have to tell her to pop in here. They are quite preoccupied at the moment however because they just became first time grandparents on Friday. We are always in Monument every weekend camping so summertime might be hard for us to participate in a meet except for a Sunday afternoon.
Lisa, you don't have to be jealous. Just make sure you make it this month. Maybe the one I am mad(Teresa) at will give everyone more time to plan.
I can't believe that I got in trouble for what Teresa is doing. She's the bad one!! If she wasn't going on this trip then I wouldn't be mad at her. It is all HER fault. But....I will be the bigger person and apologize for my actions yesterday.
Anybody have ideas what I could do for a fellow DISer that is celebrating her 50th birthday onboard the Panama Canal cruise with us? I know about DCL's cake but I would like to add to the celebration but still be able to bring clothes in my suitcases. Help!

jrsy boy~ When I made my door sign last year, I just used card stock and then I had a roll of magnet stuff (sorry don't know the technical name :confused3 ) The magnet roll I think I got at either Hobby Lobby or Michael's a long time ago to use for a girl scout project we were doing. I think the roll was probably less than $5 and I still have at least half the roll left. It lasts a long time.

Finally back from Vegas! We had soooo much fun! We slept in until 10, went to the pool and basked in the heat (70-80), went upstairs and slept/showered/read, went out to dinner, went to a show or movie....everyday for 5 days. AHHHH, the life! But believe it or not, now I am tired!!! We didn't gamble a whole lot because I never win!!! We were down $40 and won $30. and quit. No high risk excitement here. That town is amazing. Both in the architecture and the people. We were walking home at 2:30 am (we stayed at the piano bar until it closed) and saw a family of four standing in front of MGM (kids about 3 and 5, obviously tourists). What could possibly be important enough to keep your kids out until 3am? Not judging (well, a little :) ) but also curious. :)
Glad to see the sun again here. That weather was yucky!!!!

Hi Guys...
Me again :teeth:
Jen - Glad you had fun in Vegas. We love going through there with the kids, but not till 3:00am :sad2: We'll do our annual trip through there in July (HOT!).
The weather was a little better today, but still not completely clear, but the sun was out here and there :sunny: We took the kids to the beach near the Cocoa Beach pier, which was a lot of fun, but I was cold :cold: It is suppose to be warmer tomorrow, so should be a GOOD day to sail :boat:
We did go by Ron Jon's yesterday and that place is HUGE. I just thought it would be some small surf shop, but it was like going to the MALL :earseek:
We're staying at the Comfort Inn at Cocoa Beach and we have a wonderful view from our room. I've never seen the Atlantic, so it's been exciting to see it right outside our window :bounce:
I will try and post when I can onboard.
How's the weather in Denver? I heard it was suppose to be 71 yesterday and it was gorgeous when we left for the airport. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Glow necklaces - Dollar Tree
Magnet sheets - Walmart
Shoe Holder - Walmart or Dollar Tree
Luggage straps - not a clue!!!!
There is a dollar tree right across the street from Southwest Plaza at Bowles and Cross (next to Joanne's).
Spent part of my exciting Friday night at Dollar Tree, but they were out of glow necklaces. Found the shoe holder, though it wasn't an "over the door" type I keep reading about. It hangs on the closet bar like a hanger. Still need to check Big Lots and Walmart.

jrsy boy~ you might want to try oriental trading website to get glow necklaces. I am pretty sure that they have them. One of the ladies on my cruise is buying them in bulk for a school function and she is going to get extra for those of us cruising with her. I got my shoe holder at the Walmart at Quincy and Wadsworth last summer. I think it was around $6 or $7. It seems like I found it around where the laundry type things are (ironing board, baskets).

Oh my Cristi, you must live very close to us. My shoe holder came from the same Walmart.
JrsyBoy, we can't live without our over the door shoe holder. We are taking it on this cruise even though it will just be the two of us. Glow necklaces can be found at the party stores, too. I have seen them at Party City on Bowles and hmmmm, don't know the cross street. Across from Clement Park, anyway.
Jen, it sounded like you had a great time in Vegas. We need to go now that we are adults. I did it as a kid with my parents and so did Ted. We just aren't gamblers either. I have better things to do with my money!.....Like cruise!!!
Teresa, it is so fun reading your posts while you are gone. Hope to read more while you are on the ship. We almost stayed at Ron Jon's last Oct but cancelled it and stayed at All Stars instead. Ron Jon's was hit by the hurricane and was closed for awhile. Oh wait, you were talking about the Surf shop, silly me. The weather is very springy. I heard today on the news that Friday will be in the 50's with snow in the foothills. Enjoy your sun while you can!
Better run and go outside with dear hubby. He is cutting the grass.

I’ve worked there for just over a year and a half. However, I only work weekends, so I don’t know if you’ve seen me! I’m the bumbling one who messes up a lot... :flower: Ask for Dawn if you're in.
Quote from jiminyC fan: BlackUnicorn, I worked for the Disney Store at SW Plaza as Holiday help one year. It was my spending money for our first cruise. That is some drive for you!
We have a couple of people from SW in the store now–I don’t know how long it’s been since you worked, so I don’t know if you’d recognize them. It is a bit of a drive, but until the stores were sold, my Disney discount more than covered it! Now, I still love the job, but I keep hoping that they’ll open a store in the Springs again sooooooon.
Quote from Jrsy Boy: NO! It is based on the first book of the five book trilogy by Douglas Adams.
Five? I only counted four. I wonder which one I’m missing? I’m pleased to say that I saw Hitchhiker on opening night, and I took a towel. My children were terribly embarassed and refused to carry towels. (They were still embarassed even after they found out what the towel was for. )
If anyone is interested, Park Meadows got in a shipment of the NEW Disney Dollars in $1, $5, and $10 denominations. They're going fast, so if you want some, hop on in! I forgot to get mine while I was in :sad2: but hopefully there will still be some next weekend. (There probably would have been plenty if I hadn't felt the need to tell everyone about them! :flower: )

What kind of books are the hitchhiker books?
A very humorous take on Science Fiction. There is one line in particular that I sort of remember being something like "The Vogon ships floated in exactly the same way that a brick wouldn't." If you give the first one a try and end up liking it, you'll likely enjoy all of them.
At that same bookstore, same visit, I found a copy of Thinner by Richard Bachman which was the edition that came out before anyone knew that Richard Bachman was actually Stephen King. It even has a picture of some other guy on the back of the dust jacket.

Hi
Way back in the beginning of this thread there was mention of a store in Denver that had lots of Pirate stuff.
I am in the process of making gift bags for my managers daughter and her friend that will be going on the cruise in June. Maddie is a "Make a Wish" kid so I am trying to make this experience special for her. She and Kendra both are 18. Do you know if that store has things they would be interested in or is it mostly little kid stuff??
Thanks

Quote from Jrsy Boy: Have you read "Mostly Harmless"?
Ah, that's the one I didn't remember! It's been so many years since I read the books, I'm having a hard time remembering them. I need to find my copies, because I just remembered that I used to stash spare cash on page 42. I wonder where I hid them? They're probably still packed from the last time I moved. My husband thought he would be clever: he didn't label any of the moving boxes because he thought that would force us to unpack everything quickly. The result is that my garage is full of boxes and most of my kitchenware is new. :rotfl:
Quote from jiminyC fan: Hello everyone. A special welcome to our friend Barb, Mickey 02. BlackUnicorn, she is the one I was talking about that is from the Springs.
Hi, Barb! Nice to meet you! I'm also in the Springs, which is why your name came up. :flower: I also work at the Disney Store, so if you think there's anything there that might fit in your gift bag, let me know and I'll keep an eye out. I have to admit, I'm better and picking things for younger kids, though.
jiminyC fan, I thought of you today--I was watching a recording of Regis and Kelly from Monday, and they were at Disneyland. I saw Gepetto and Pinocchio, and the fox and the cat, but no Jiminy. But I've never seen Gepetto or Pinocchio before, so maybe they'll have Jiminy this year after all!

Hey, guess what? I just saw that they are building a Del Taco at Broadway and Belleview. I have never been there, but I am wanting to try them.
Yay, but that is still a little ways out there for me but now atleast we have 3 in CO!!!! Why can't there be one built right at Bowles and Wads, or somewhere near there!!!
I wonder where they are building it at. Is it by the McDonalds?

We won a trip to Disneyland from SW Plaza a few years ago when Toon Town had its grand opening and we got to eat with Gepetto and Pinocchio. I have never seen them since. Heidi, do you remember that? I don't think there is a Jiminy to "see" as a character probably because he is so tiny.
Cristi, good news about Del Taco. Like Heidi said, why don't they build one over here? It always seems other neighborhoods get the new restaurants. I remember when they built up Clement Park that there was going to be a free standing Chick Fil A there but built a bank instead. Maybe something cool will go in at Bowles and C470.
Ok Black Unicorn, how do you post 2 quotes on one post? I have wanted to respond a few times like that but I don't know how. I know how to do it the first time by hitting quote on the bottom of the other persons post but then how do you do it a second time?
Barb, Denver is on water restrictions. It will be 3 times a week.

Hi Blackunicorn, nice to talk to someone so close to home! Disney store!! I would love to work there. Which one do you work at? I miss the Disney store so much here. Why did they close them? Will they ever bring them back?

My guess would be across Broadway from McDonald's, behind the muffler shop.
I used to stash spare cash on page 42. I wonder where I hid them?
That's funny because I bought my set used and there was a pile of cash on page 42! What a strange coincidence. ;)

I'm a wizard. :wizard: No, I cheat! I write my reply in WordPerfect, grabbing a quote whenever I come across one and typing “Quote from (name):” in front. Then, when the whole reply is ready, I click on “Reply” and cut and paste. The quotes are done by using the quote function that’s on the “Reply” control panel–it looks like a piece of paper with writing on it–and copying the text I want to show as a quote.
Quote from Mickey02: Hi Blackunicorn, nice to talk to someone so close to home! Disney store!! I would love to work there. Which one do you work at? I miss the Disney store so much here. Why did they close them? Will they ever bring them back?
I work at Park Meadows most weekends. As for why the store in the Citadel closed, I don’t know anything official other than there was a problem with the lease. I heard that due to various factors, the powers-that-be didn’t renew the lease quickly enough, and the Citadel had already leased the space out. I also heard that, because Disney was trying to sell the Disney Stores, it couldn’t incur any extra debt, so a new lease was out of the question. I’ve been told that The Children’s Place is eager to expand The Disney Stores, and to look for a new one in the Springs within the next year, but I honestly haven’t heard anything definite in that direction. I love my job, but now that I don’t get a discount at the theme parks, it’s getting harder to rationalize the commute. :sad2:

Hey! No finders, keepers here, bud! :rotfl:
Hey Guys...
Sorry I didn't get a chance to post again. We had meant to buy the unlimited access, but never got a chance and then it wasn't worth getting. We are at the Courtyard Marriot right now and have a 6:00am flight home tomorrow. It'll be so much fun waking the girls up at 4:00am tomorrow :earseek: I'm going to start working on my trip report when we get home and Nick downloaded over 1,000 pictures for me to go through. I hope I took enough
Our trip was wonderful, just like the weather. We did see DCLcruiser at the sailaway party, but that was the only chance we got to see him. We did catch the end of the Wild and Haines show and they were great. I wish we would have seen the whole thing. They did have two other acts that we caught at the adult time which were really good. I'll have to look at our Navigators to see their names.
We did catch some of the Hitchhikers Guide last night and I'll have to say I was very disappointed. We sat through about the first hour and a half last night and I finally had to leave. Didn't want to miss the Till We Meet Again party for that
Only problems we had was one of our bags got left at the port when our limo :earboy2: picked us up this morning. Since it was a carryon, there was no name tag or anyone (and it was the one that had ALL our souviners) Security already picked it up and it got put on a Disney bus to the airport. Nick just left to go get it, so hopefully nothing is missing. Other than that, everything was great. Great servers, room attendents, weather and met some great people through our DIS meet.
Anyways, I'll let you guys know when I finish the trip report.

Cristi - they are putting in a Petsmart,a Pet Hotel, and I think a sporting goods store where the Old KMart was.
Hey Heidi - Yes... we did get it, thank God. Disney was great about working with Nick. We didn't have any tags on it because we carried it off the ship. He ended up having to go to the airport by shuttle to get it, but everything was fine. I didn't let that bag out of my sight the rest of the trip ;)

Jen, that is some drive. My SIL lives at 120th and Colorado Blvd and I hate the drive. We live South as well.

Well, after some recon work in Curacao there is no Del Taco...however there is a McDonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut. :cool1:
The cruise is going smooth to my eyes. There were some bumps during the way however all around it is a good cruise. You can not imagine the amount of repeaters here.
For all those folks playing Murder Mystery @ home...I hate to tell you, but Ben is dead :guilty:
Curacao is extremely hot...we have an overcast right now and still sweating. When we pulled in it was crazy. There is a floating bridge that takes your from one part of the island to another. When a ship pulls in, the bridge swings open like a door to let the ship in.
Any how, couple more days and we will be in Panama.

Um, not quite...in fact, I haven't even started yet. We've got a three-day weekend coming up and DS's last day of school is Thursday, so DW is planning to start on Friday. I've been ready to start for a while, but have held off.
We do have a whole pile of stuff that will be packed, just haven't got it all organized and stowed yet. Had to get TSA-friendly locking luggage straps for our suitcases due to the type of locks built-in not being TSA-friendly. Those came last week, so the suitcases are out. I have a long way to go to get to my goal weight, just did it anyway and had a blast! Even if you walk the whole way, it's such a fun experience. We are lucky that my dd's gym teacher organizes this as his field trip for the year, and gets school busses to transport us there, drop us off at the start line and pick us up near the stadium. They couldn't pick a more beautiful spot to do a Memorial Day celebration. We always sit on the east side of the stadium to see the Flatirons behind the university...breathtaking, even with the clouds!

Teresa, you don't need to lose anymore weight. You are perfect. But.....I am headed to LA Weight loss now to weigh in with them. Wish me luck!
Run? I don't even know what that word means nor will I ever find out. lol
DV - That sounds like fun. I would definitely like to try it next year.
Sandy - You are so sweet :earboy2: Good luck with your weigh in :teeth:

Oh my gosh Teresa, I just looked at your weight loss ticker. You do not have 19.6 to go. Are you turning anorexic? My family accuses me but I have to lose so I can gain on the Panama Canal cruise. 5 more is my goal but really secretly want 15. Shhhh, don't tell Heidi.

Don't even get me started on this.
DV-that is awesome that you participated in the Bolder Boulder this past weekend. I ended up buying my car up there last year and had to go back during the Bolder Boulder...of course all the streets were closed off!!! That is so my luck.

JrsyBoy better not have left without saying goodbye!
Cristi, I was at Park Meadows yesterday so I stopped in the store to see if you were working. I know you usually work on the weekends but thought it was worth a try. You are sure starting to get a bigger variety like before. Happy to see that.

Sandy - You are soooo sweet, but I do need to lose another 8 pounds to get to my weight watcher goal, but I want to lose another 10. Once my saddlebags are gone, I'll be happy :earboy2:
If I had known I was gone to gain almost 4 pounds on our cruise, I would have lost 5 more :rotfl:

Yup, that's me! But I'm off for a couple of weeks. (I had a family reunion last week, and today's my birthday so I'm goofing off this weekend.)
oops, I definitely made a mistake. No wonder the CM acted funny.
Hee hee--we don't have a Cristi working there right now, but we do have some new people, so they might have been trying to figure out if maybe you were looking for one of them. I'm only there on weekends, the only other time I might work is on a weird day, like the day after Thanksgiving. During the week, I'm a stay-at-home mom. :flower:

Hey guys....I have been lurking and reading (which I hate when other people do it) but wanted to say hello and Teresa you look great and don't need to lose another pound! Nice weather today huh! Actually, this morning we went to Pirate's Cove and had a fabulous time!!! So this afternoon was fine. Better afternoon thunderstorms than that nasty socked in stuff. Off to Estes for the weekend...pray for sun!
Jen - Welcome to our little group and your are TOO sweet :goodvibes We loved Pirates Cove last year and plan to go back this summer.
Blackunicorn - How old are your kids? I'm also a SAHM, but hoping to work part-time at the elementary school near by. Be nice to have some extra cash :teeth:

Black Unicorn HAPPY BIRTHDAY a day late! :bday:
I would like to go to Pirate's Cove this year too. We never made it last year. I didn't want to go on a weekend and it seemed like the days that we had free during the week it was either cold or rainy.

LOL...what a small little world this is. My brother actually works there, he is one of the managers :rotfl2:
He gets to play in the land locked state of Colorado...while I get to play in the Pacific and Caribbean
Well, it is almost time to make a run to Wal-Mart :cheer2: Night

ok, someone please tell me where Pirate's Cove is!
DV - Pirates Cove is off of Belleview, just east of Santa Fe. If you know where Belleview park is (with the old train), it's right next door. Here's some info: http://englewoodgov.org/home/index.asp?page=353

It's kind of amazing that of all the 50 states, that the Disboard would have 16 pages and counting for the COLORADO disboarders!
I'm impressed. and since I've lived in Colorado since l970, I guess I qualify, even tho I'm on the western slope from (most of) the rest of you.
While DD was in high school at Cherry Creek, we lived in Englewood for four years, so I know SOME of what you'all are talking about.
BlackUnicorm, I have some 'take backs' from Disney Direct, so I guess I'd better get down your way (Park Meadows) before my takeback time is up!
I've two bathing suits and a pair of thongs that I need to 'exchange'.
I think there are enough people for us to have a Denver Dismeet!!!!! That would be fun. I haven't taken a Discruise, tho I 've cruised most every other cruiseline. I've recently purchased DVC and I'm loving it!
A big hi to all, and happy belated birthday, black unicorm!
Hello Colorado Belle and Welcome!! It is pretty amazing how we're the only state posting.... :goodvibes
I know we're talked about doing a Denver Meet, hopefully this summer. Only get together so far has been at a Del Taco :teeth: I guess we'll need somewhere bigger next time ;)
I'm glad we've been getting the rain the past couple of days, but I'm ready for some sunshine :sunny:

Hi Tera, thanks for the welcome.
We've had SNOW the last 24 hours. It's finally melting, but the flakes were coming down fast and were HUGE this morning. I had my annuals outside all night...looks like they might survive.
Sigh...summer in the high-county.

Wow, I was absent from the thread for a couple of days and you guys yack and yack. Hope I don't snub anyones post.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Black Unicorn! Welcome Colorado Belle!.....snow???
Teresa, I just gained 3.2 pounds eating at Heidi's last night. She and Chris are too good of cooks. Of course it didn't help that I had a Carl's Jr. breakfast burger in the AM.
I have never been to Pirates Cove but have driven past it. Looks like a lot of fun!!
DCLcruiser, what a small world it is indeed. Your little brother works at Pirates Cove. So how is it this week for you?
Jen, Heidi and I love going to Estes for their fresh taffy. Have you ever tried it? How was the weather?
Gotta run and have Sunday brunch at Armadillos.

I've two bathing suits and a pair of thongs that I need to 'exchange'I ordered the Eeyore suit from Disney Direct, and must say they are sized WWAAAAAAAYYY big! I just found out about this convenience, it's very nice!
Thanks for the heads up on where Pirate's Cove is, no wonder I didn't know, I never get down that way....Water World is closer.
Sandy - Drink lots of water and you'll be fine.
We drove up just north of Granby to check out some campsites that we book and it was amazing at the amount of snow still up at Berthoud Pass. It's just weird to see in June.
For anyone interested, I finally got my pictures posted. You can find them in the Trip Report thread. Let me know what you think :teeth:

Teresa, where did you book your campsites? We used to go to Shadow Mtn every weekend before it got so popular. We loved to canoe at Grand Lake. Now we belong to a private campground in Monument. We go there every weekend now.
Is anyone on this thread going on the Panama Canal Cruise besides Val and me? Just wondering (correct me if I am wrong, Val) but I think her map shows 15 Coloradans from the DISboard going.
Have to go return a movie to McDonalds. Don't you just love renting movies there?
Sandy - We're actually camping at Green River for the first time. We checked it out today and I was a little disappointed about how close some of those sites were to the road and the parking lot for the boat ramp. It was still nice though. Which campsites at Shadow Mountain did you go to? We also do a big trip in August to Pearl Lake. LOVE that place...
I WISH I was going on the August trip, but unless we win the lotto, it's not going to happen :guilty:

Sandy, it's you(2), me(4), dencord7 (3), BetsyAnn (2), and Mickey02 (4) going on the repo cruise. I haven't heard anything from Mickey02 in some time, so don't know if they're going or whether they've cancelled.

I'm with Teresa, wish I could afford the Panama Canal....14 days on the cruise, ah heaven.

Good Morning
DenverVal We are not going to be able to go on the repo cruise. I had to cancel because one of my daughters is getting married and I could not do a cruise and a wedding. You can't even imagine how disappointed I am.
We are going to do a back to back next July to kind of replace this one.
Bob and I went to the Air Show Saturday. The Thunderbirds flew. It was awesome but cold! The wind was horrible. How was the weather up North?
I am having a baby shower at the end of June. I am doing it in Pooh. I want to get a big Pooh from the Disney store. Wonder if they are having any sales ::yes::
Hope Everyone has a great Monday

Back from Estes. Man I love it up there....even with SNOW!! It rained and snowed hard (mostly rain) all Friday and Saturday. Sunday was gorgoues (sp). Haven't tried their taffy yet, I will have to next time. We go up there a lot, we were even married in the canyon. Beautiful.
It is probably to late but when we went to Pirates Cove it was not busy at all. It was wonderful. I didn't have to worry about the kids (as much) and could just relax and play with each of them. I'm sure it will get a lot busier.
ColoradoBelle, I graduated from Cherry Creek also. I'm sure I am older than your dd but I gradutated in 1986. :earseek: Can't believe it has almost been 20 years!
We, alas, are not going on the panama cruise. We are cruising Sept 17th, so take care of her for us. I think it is right before she goes into dry dock to get that cool movie screen. Drats! We loved that on the Car. Princess.

Jennat I LOVE Estes too. We try and get up there several times a year.
Do you stay overnight? If so where? What all do you do there? Is there still snow there?

My kids are 9 and 6 so we stay at Yogi bear campground usually. They rent cabins, campers, pop ups and sites. They have a ton to do. Candy bar bingo, theme weekends, pool, parks, puttputt, tons to do www.jellystoneofestes.com .
We have stayed at other places to. We really like Brynwood on the River, also.
As far as things to do, we sometimes just stay at the campground. Sometimes go to the place with the bumperboats/race cars, etc, always go do the big slide, we went to the indoor pool and had a great time this time, movie, walk around downtown, go hiking at Bear Lake, that's all I can think of. It is soooo pretty there.
No snow in town but the tops of the mountains are pretty white. DIdn't hike this time. The river is running HIGH!!
