Scattered around these pueblos guests discover numerous icons which link together to make 4 separate trails, each representing aspects of desert life.
Along the "Trail of Artefacts" guests discover a Saguaro cactus encased in a huge glass structure. The arms of the cactus are decorated with brightly coloured flowers but the shadows they cast are of human beings!!! http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/66281trails_-_saguaro_cactus_600_x_450_-thumb.jpg and there is even a grounded flying saucer as in Roswell, New Mexico!. http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/66281trail_-_flying_saucer1-thumb.jpg There is also a very brightly coloured reminder of the dangers of life in the desert http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/66281trail_-_serpent-thumb.jpg and the wrecks of old cars abandoned along Route 66. http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/66281trail_-_old_cars-thumb.jpg
The "Trail of Water" http://photobucket.com/albums/v486/diberry/th_trail-water.jpg

examines the importance of water in desert life. Beginning high on the tallest pueblo and cascading downwards. http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/66281trail_-_water-thumb.jpg guests can follow its journey as it fills streams and fountains. http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/66281trail_-_water_3_600_x_450_-thumb.jpg
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/66281trail_-_water_2_600_x_450_-thumb.jpg .
The “Trail of Monuments is symbolised by a bird (why?) http://photobucket.com/albums/v486/diberry/th_trails-monument3600x450.jpg
and is supposed to be reminiscent of Monument Valley, a Navajo Tribal Park in Utah. (It pays to have a good imagination here!!) http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/66281trail_-_monument_2_600_x_450_-thumb.jpg

Finally on the “Trail of Legends” symbolised by the White Bison http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/66281trail_-_legends_600_x_450_-thumb.jpg a volcano (again – why??) http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/66281trail_-_volcano-thumb.jpg and a golden building (representing the Gold Rush) http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/66281trail_-_gold_600_x_450_-thumb.jpg
remind guests of the legends of the Wild West.
