Hello we6clarks and disneedee:

We have the early dinner because, from what Iīve read, itīs more commom for families with children have the early dinner. Why donīt you we6clarks change for early dinner, so we can all dine together and watch the show later? When we get together I will teach some words in Portuguese, if you wish, no problem. Donīt forget to let me know what room youīre gonna be, we6clarks.

DisneyDee my sister and brother are thinking about coming with us but they haven't booked yet either. My sister loves Disney and my brother loves cruising. I think mainly they are doing this at my mother's insistence. She doesn't think we'll be able to manage all of the kids by ourselves and is worried they'll get hurt on the boat. Hope your sister will book soon. I'm sure the trip would be more fun for you with her onboard.

Marcelo are you sure you know what you're asking? I was going to add to my last post that I felt sorry for whoever got a dinner assignment sitting at the same table with us! Seriously, I will call and see if dining time can be changed if you're sure we won't ruin your dinner.

If we don't get an early dinner time we can always meet for breakfast or lunch. When Regan saw Pietra's picture she said, " She looks like a princess flower girl." Hello!
I decided to jump in here - Thanks to Michele who so nicely responded to another one of my posts! It will be me (Jamie), DH - Mark, DS13 Jacob and DS7 Nathan. We are also in a Cat 12 gty - and just SO happy to be on the boat! This will be our kids first cruise - DH & I went on Carnival for our Honeymoon 18 years ago - but that seems like a lifetime ago now so it really feels like our first too!

I am especially excited to find a buddy for Nathan because I know it will make all the difference for him - so thanks again Michele for "finding" me!

I really loved seeing all your photo's - sadly, I am waaaay too computer challanged to figure out how to post any. OK - to tell the truth I haven't even figured out how to use my new digital camera yet  (DH is working on it, but this is his super busy season, so he's not making very quick progress either!) Can you tell we are a BIT challanged in this area? LOL! Eventurally though I bet he'll figure it out - he is pretty good if he's got the time to tinker around with it - me- not so much :rotfl: !

Hey, maybe by the time I can post a photo I'll manage to lose a few of those extra pounds - well, a girl can dream!

Hey Jamie,
I'm so happy you've joined in the cruise meets. Blake has been asking me since we found a friend for Regan if there was going to be a friend for him on the boat too. Blake likes super heros also. His favorite is spiderman. I'll post a photo of Blake here so you can show it to Nathan before the cruise. Luckily my DH is a computer programmer so he helped me with all of the technical stuff. I'd never have been able to figure it out on my own. LOL

Michele - what a good looking family you have! Blake is adorable - he reminds me a little of Nathan actually! Now I am ITCHING to tell Nathan all about Blake - and I CAN'T - whaaaaa! He DID notice his picture on the screen though and ran over to look - I'm sure it might have had something to do with Tigger - but little does he know he was really looking at his future buddy too :teeth: !!

Tell Blake Nathan also loves Spiderman - in fact, for his 5th b-day he had a Spiderman theamed b-day party complete with a huge Spiderman shaped moon walk (we call it a "jumpy thing"). Now he's really into Batman - because he LOVES capes LOL! Anyway, sounds like they will have plenty in common!

Lucky you to have a "computer guy" in the family - I'm jealous! My brother is pretty good at all things computer and he used to be good about helping me (and my parents too) - but of course he moved to Michigan a year ago (we live in Minnesota) - now the rest of the family is "lost" again! Oh well.

Oh, I suppose I really should go get some things done...I'll be in touch though!

Well, it looks like we won't be joining you after all. My cousins did not actually book the cruise the day I did. They tried to book a few days later and the ship is almost full - not cat 10 or 11 left. There were plenty of rooms available when I checked, I think some travel agent snatched them up. So now we are going the following week 1/22. I'm so disappointed, I was finally able to get a SPH room and now I'm going to lose it! :( No SPH rooms left on the 1/22, no deck 5 cabins at all. If anyone booked a cat 10 and wants to change to a SPH room, I will be changing our reservation tonight. I hope you all have a WONDERful time on the cruise - please keep the ship in tip-top shape for us... :rotfl2:

Hi Jamie,
Blake has had a good first week of school. Regan doesn't go back until Sept 6. I wish Blake didn't start until Sept too. It has made summer seem really short this year. For pirate night I thought I'd try and get eye patches, hooks, and swords for the kids. I don't think Robert is aware about pirate night yet. He would be the one of us more likely to dress in full costume. He always dresses in a costume for Halloween. What dinner time do you have? Early or late?

Hi Michelle~
Here all public schools in the same city (maybe district?) start the same day, which is nice I guess - but some cities start before labor day and some after - of course we are in the "before" camp. The silly thing is they don't start till Thursday - so they go for just two days before labor day - which seems dumb to me, but what do I know? Actually, it apparently seems to dumb to plenty of others too since they passed a new law now that says school cannot start before labor day anymore - costs the resort area's too much in lost $$ and help :cool1:

I really have no idea what I am going to do about the kids costumes for pirate night - they are both very unpredictable about weather or not they would dress up...and since I can't exactly ask them it's a little hard. I'm thinking about seeing what's on clearence after halloween so I can be prepared if they do want to, without risking much if they won't. I like your idea of the eye patches and such - I will for sure do those things at least.

I am pretty sure we have early seating. I did initally sign up for late - but changed my mind after thinking about it a couple of days. I realized that I really like to eat earlier - that way the rest of the evening is fair game for snacks and treats :rotfl: !! Anyway, I called to change it - and when I checked my ressie on line it does list it as early now.

Well, I better wrap up my little book here - stay in touch!

Jamie :sunny:

we6clarks
08-29-2005, 12:35 PM
Hi Jamie,
We are wait listed for early seating. I hope it gets changed. Everyone we've met on here is eating early. If it doesn't get changed maybe there'll be lots of free spots in the nursery for the twins. There is no way they will behave through a 2 hour meal. I like your idea about shopping post Halloween for pirate costumes. I'll have to borrow it. Did you decide how you are going to tell Jacob and Nathan about the cruise? Did you get the cruise travel kit in the mail today? Talk to you soon.
Michele

jmet
08-31-2005, 01:47 AM
Michelle,
I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you get your seating time changed - from what I've read on these boards it seems like it could happen! How old are your twins again? I can believe that a two hour meal would be challanging for little ones - Heck, I'm hoping my 7 and 13 year olds can behave :rotfl: - well, that is WHEN they are both there. I am thinking that Jake might end up just "opting out" of some of the meals (knowing him) - so maybe we'll just "go with the flow" and see what happens!

Did you say you got a CRUISE KIT???? No, I haven't gotten any such thing - and maybe I won't - did you book with DCL directly or use a travel agent? I booked through - oh boy, now I've forgotten  (I know - that is terrible!) it was either Travelosity or Expedia because they were they only ones left I could find that still offered a Cat12 GTY (here's hopin' for an upgrade!). Well, anyway - not likely to get any special "perks" through them - but if it's something everyone gets then MAYBE we'll still get it! I'm glad to know to be on the lookout for it though - one of the kids finding it might have led to some ummm ...creative conversation....

Right now we are thinking of having them open a portable DVD player - This will be on Christmas Eve...which will have the DCL Cruise CD qued up :teeth: . But before that we will have them open a couple "normal" (but small) gifts and THEN something to hint at the cruise - like a beach towel for Nathan / new swim suit for Jake (or something a little subtle that won't give it away, but will make 'em WONDER - ha, ha - :confused3 get it? - OK SORRY). After the CD they might have a couple small "cruise related" gifts to finish it off - we'll see. Well, as you can tell the plan is still a work in progress - stay tuned on that one.

Are you planning 'dressy" outfits? I"m starting to think about that and I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do, which is probably fine because once I have that figured out I'll invent something new to worry about!

Take Care,
Jamie

Hi Jamie,
We did book with DCL directly. Let me know if you don't get the travel kit. I'll mail you one of ours. We got 2 because we have 2 cabins. We don't need both of them. The kit goes over things to do on the ship and at the ports.

I have started thinking about what to pack. I thought I'd take one dressy outfit in case we decide to eat dinner or brunch at Palo. Mostly I probably will do more casual clothes for dinner, skirts and black pants. What were you thinking about packing?

How was Nathan and Jacob's first day back to school? Do you have any plans for the long weekend?

The twins will be 21 mo. old on the 4th. I can't believe they are almost 2.
Talk to you soon,
Michele

Hi Michele (I noticed I misspelled your name before - sorry about that! )

That is SO nice of you to offer to send one of your kits to me! I will wait another couple of weeks or so and if I don't get one I just might take you up on that! Sounds like it would be kind of fun to have.

I have been trying to post here recently, but my computer has really been giving me problems lately so when I submit my post it just goes - I don't know where - post heaven? So far today it seems to be running better, so I'll give it another shot and see what happens!

Did you have a good Labor day weekend? Ours was eventful. Mark's truck got stolen right out of our driveway sometime Sat night/Sun morning. He had it full of all kinds of tools for work and lots of personal items too - even his wallet! Fortunately a nice lady found his wallet Sun. afternoon and called us - everything was in it except the cash of course, so that was good. The wallet was found quite a ways from here and we drove up there to get it and drove around looking for the truck, but of course didn't find it. Mon. morning Mark went back up to look around and stop at the local police dept. to ask them to keep an eye out for it too. Mon. afternoon they called - they found it!! The guys were still driving it around - the police couldn't even believe it. Of course everything was pretty much gone that he had in it, but it only had minor damage to the back bumper, so it could have much worse. He is just thrilled to have it back. Anyway, that ended up kind of taking over our weekend, but at least it was a pretty happy ending ~all things considered.

Nathan and Jacob's first days back to school went nice and smooth. It is really weird having Nathan gone all day long now! I think he's really going to like it though as he was starting to go a bit stir crazy here - he's really a "what are we gonna do NOW?" kind of kid! How much school will your kids miss for the cruise? Mine are off that Monday (for MLK) and Friday (teachers meetings or something) so they will just miss 3 days which isn't too bad.

Sounds like we are on the same track packing wise. I have a couple of pairs of capri's, and some black pants too - not sure what I'll bring in terms of skirts/dresses...still mulling that over. We still haven't decided about Palo either - IF we do it we are thinking of doing brunch just because the view sounds like it would be amazing, but we haven't decided anything yet.

Are you staying near the port the night before? We are booked at a hotel near Disney that night and plan to drive there that morning.

Talk to ya soon!

Hi Jamie,
I am so sorry to hear about your husband's truck. That's horrible. I am glad to hear you got it back. We have been having some car troubles here as well. We were hit head on June 26th. We still don't have our van back. The body shop says it won't be ready again this week. Here's hoping it will be ready next week.

I have trouble posting on here sometimes. I'll log in type my message. When I hit send I get a message that I'm not logged in and I can't post a reply. I've tried writing you back 2 other times with no luck.

Blake will miss 3 days of school also. They are off Monday and Tuesday the week of the cruise. Regan will miss 1 day of preschool. When are you going to let the school know your boys are going on vacation? Have you ever taken them out of school for a vacation before? We asked the principal if it would be OK for Blake to miss school for a family vacation. She said it would be alright but that I have to send a written letter to her and his teacher.

My brother lives in Jacksonville. We are going to stay with him the night before the cruise. We will drive down to Cape Canaveral Sunday morning. We are going to stay at Disney Thur and Fri night after the cruise. Are you staying in Orlando afterward or are you heading back home? Talk to you soon.

Hi there Michele,
Wow - so sorry to hear about your accident this summer! I hope no one was hurt!? I can't believe it's taken this long to get your van back - I hope you have it by now!!

We are planning to stay at Ron Jon's the Thurs/Fri after the cruise as my husband thinks he'll be ready for a change from Disney after that (we are going for just a quick ALONE trip 10/18 - 10/22 also). I always have "just a few more things" I could do at the parks - but the resort sounds fun too - providing the wheather cooperates!

Yes, we have taken the boys out of school before for trips - only once before for Nathan since last year he was in Kindergarten (and we didn't go anywhere the year before when he was in pre-school). But Jake we have taken out I think 3 times before. We were lucky in that the schools have been really good about it, but the older he gets the more nervous it makes me to have him miss (he's in 8th grade this year). I think 3 days isn't too bad though - and Mark doesn't even think twice about it!

OH guess what?! Yesterday I finally got my "cruise kit"!!! I was surprised - it came by UPS even - is that how yours was delivered too? I actually got an e-mail ahead of time saying there was a package being sent to me and listing the delivery date - I had to really look hard, but finally saw that it said it was from "Cruise Care"...I had no idea what that meant, but it seems like it came directly from DCL. Doesn't matter anyway - it was just fun to get it!

I stopped at MOA (Mall of America) this weekend because I was excited to check out the new Disney Store - and to my disappointment it STILL is not open! The sign oringally said it would re-open in Sept., but now it just says "Coming Soon"...I'm waaaaaiting. You have one near you right? Do they have anything new/different I should know about? I'm probably better off not being able to shop there anyway, but it's so much fun I miss it!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with computer problems...mine has been working better now though (after paying the Geek Squad big bucks!) - so here's hoping this goes through!

Hi Jamie,
We did get our van back last week :cool1: But it had to go back to the local dealer this week because the check engine light was coming on :confused3

Regan turned 4 last week. We are having her birthday party tomorrow. I probably should be doing some more cleaning. I'm tired.

I was at the Disney Store last week. Mostly the store was filled with Halloween costumes. I think I'll try and go back closer to Halloween to see if I can get some of the pirate costume accesories on sale.

Cocoa Beach is a fun place. Robert's sister lives near there. We need to visit her family at some point during the trip. We were too exhausted to stop and visit when we were at WDW over the summer. We haven't seen our niece since she was a newborn. I keep holding off making our reservations hoping that Disney will come out with a disc for Jan. Talk to you soon.

Hi Michele,
Sorry it's taken me so long to write. I was distracted getting ready for a quick trip Mark and I took to WDW (ALONE!) last week (we were belatedly celebrating our anniversery). Anyway - I am back to obsessing about the cruise now - LOL!

How was Regan's b-day party?? I bet it seems like a long time ago by now huh?? Did your van get fixed once and for all? I sure hope so.

Have you guys been thinking about excursions for the cruise? We have been talking about it and I think we have finally decided to just go check out Cable beach - would have LOVED to have done the dolphin swim (was going to book it directly), but for a variety reasons - including the cost - in the end decided a day at the beach would be a relaxing, fun way to spend that day. Not sure yet what we'll do at CC - haven't gotten that far yet. I guess maybe we better figure it out or we won't HAVE any choices to worry about huh?
Have you picked up any pirate accessories yet? I went to check it out at Party City before we left for Florida and it was getting cleaned out! I did pick up a few things - but I then I saw swords at MK cheaper than I bought here go figure!

Well, I better run - I have lots to catch up on around here. Can't believe it's only a little over 2 months away - it's going to go fast I think with the holidays in the middle of it all!
Take Care,
Jamie

This will be our families first cruise - well, my husband and I took one 18 years ago for our honeymoon, but that hardly counts.

We have 2 boys - Jake is 13 and Nathan is 7 - so maybe Nathan and yours will cross paths in the clubs etc. - that would be fun.

Sounds like you are vets compared to us newbies - so feel free to share any tips you have with us!

Glad you decided to hop in here with us!

Hi Jamie,
Regan had a good birthday. Tomorrow is Blake's 6th birthday. We had a party with his kindergarten class today. I am exhausted!!

Hopefully our van is fixed now. It has been back to the shop 4 times since I last wrote. I'm ready to sell it and get something else. Of course Robert doesn't agree with me.

How was your trip to WDW for your anniversary? It sounds wonderful. I haven't thought much about excursions yet. I guess I need to start because we can book online in a few days.

Hi Tiffany!! Nice to meet you. We also have 4 kids. We have a son 6, a daughter 4, and twin daughters who will be 2 in Dec. I'll have to tell Blake there will be another boy his age on the cruise. Talk to you soon,

Hello again!

Wow Micele - a party with the whole kindergarten class?!!! I would be exhuasted too - STILL - HA! I bet Blake had a blast though!

Yes, our trip to WDW was SO much fun! We figured out that we had actually never been away ALONE together for longer than a weekend in all the 18 years we have been married - so it was about time!

Oh MAN - I sure hope your van is good for awhile. I would be in your camp ready to try something new already - of course now it's probably "fixed" and it would be a waste of all that $$ you put into into it.

We booked brunch at Palo's too! I actually did it without asking Mark and now he's says he's not sure if wants to go or not (he was half sleeping when I told him about it). I'm pretty sure he will want to go in the end - he just has NO clue what it even IS as he's not into the planning at all and we don't get a chance to talk about it much since it's a surprise for the boys. I did tell him about it months ago and he seemed kind of interested then - but now he doesn't even remember that  shows how much he listens to me - HA! I think he'll LOVE the food AND the view sounds awesome so what more could a guy want? LOL!

I haven't booked any excursions yet either - another thing we still haven't talked about enough to make any decisions...you think we could have worked that in while we were in FL - but I guess not!

Well, we are having our church "small group" here tonight (if you can call 16 people "small") so I guess I better get back to work on the house.

OH and HELLO to flowerfacade - nice to have you here. Our trip is a surprise for our boys too! You aren't kidding it's HARD to keep this secret - wow!

We are terribly excited and new to all of this. I have read a lot and was under the understanding that Pirate's Night was the 2nd night of the 4 day cruise on the Wonder; however, I am thinking now it may be the 3rd. We have Palo ressies for the 2nd night of the cruise (Nassau day). I chose this because I thought the dinner rotation for the 2nd and 3rd nights is the same restaurant. Am I confused? can't imagine that! :) AND mostly I am just trying to figure it all out so that my kids don't miss anything big.
You guys are full of helpful information, so I am sure one of you can straighten me out!
Thanks, Laura

Hi Everyone,
Laura nice to meet you. I looked at the most recent navigators for the 4 night cruises. Pirate night was on the third night. I hope that helps you with your planning.

Luckily the weather was nice so we could have Blake's party outside and only about half of the class came. With everything going on I didn't make it out to pick up pirate costumes during Halloween clearance sales.

The van had to go back to the dealer (visit number 6 in 6 weeks). The same part had to be replaced that was replaced on the first time we took it in. The vam still is under warranty so we haven't had to pay anything out of pocket.

Jamie How did your small group meeting go with church? Talk to you soon.

Oh - our church small group meeting went great. We only ended up with about 12 people total I think, so it was a nice group without feeling crowded at all.

Did you order the pirate costumes for your kids?? I can't remember if I mentioned it already or not, but I just ended up buying the boys pirate t-shirts while we were in WDW in Oct. Of course they will also have swords, eye patches and whatever other accessories I come up with by then. I am a little worried though that if they don't have full costumes they might be disappointed pirate: ...but for now that's my plan and I'm stickin' to it - (OK maybe).

If you go to the disney cruise line website, click on virtual ship tour, then go to deck 6 and click on Standard Inside Stateroom, it will show you what your room will look like. It may not be the exact setup but it gives you a pretty good idea.

We also booked a Cat 12 gty and this is a Cat 9 - so we too have a porthole - woo hoo!! :cool1: The bad news is this is listed as a "noisy room" - :earseek: eeeeek! I'm SO excited about the upgrade though that I'm hoping it won't matter - at least TOO much! Can't wait to tell Mark - He was out plowing all the night and is still sleeping, but I get to wake him up soon cuz he has an appointment to go to!

I'm so excited for ALL of us!!!!

Does anyone have 2nd dinner with us? :confused3

I would like to meet everyone.

Tiffany are you travelling with family or friends?

We used to have them share a pack n play when we travelled. I'm not sure that they will be able to sleep comfortable like that any more since they're big 2 yr olds now. We might have to try out a few different sleeping arrangements to find one that works for them.

Talk to you soon,

Tiffany - Not only are we in the boiler room area- but our room is located alllll the way forward (2nd to the most forward cabin on that whole deck!). Should be INTERESTING for my husband who is pretty prone to motion sickness! Guess who's getting a "variety pack" of motion sickness remedies in his stocking this year? And watch it be ME who gets sick - HA!
Hey that is a pretty big group you are traveling with Tiffany! That is how this trip got started for us - Mark's family was thinking about all doing a cruise together (there are almost 40 of us altogether), so I researched it all and got all excited about it, but all it took was a few party poopers and the idea fizzled - except not for US - :earboy2:

Michele - Mark was half excited - half leery about our "good" fortune! He's not TOO excited about the location (suspects there will be mechanical noises when docking etc. at that location and also thinks it looks like kind of a long walk down that hallway to/from our cabin to get anywhere). On the other hand, he LOVES the idea of an upgrade and was all about getting the planning dvd out and checking out what the room will look like - and THAT was appealing - SO I think we will just settle on being HAPPY :flower: with what we got and wait to find out different!
Oh, to answer an earlier question - about when to tell the school about our vacation - I was thinking of doing the same as you - sending a note in when they go back from winter break. I have mentioned trips much earlier in the past and they always just tell me to write a note a week or two ahead anyway, so I figure that should be fine. We are listed for the early dinner seating - (probably already mentioned that) - are you still thinking about trying to switch once you get on board or are you thinking of just leaving it alone?

I hope we get to meet everyone too - especially so the kids can get to know each other!! Any idea's about when/where works best?

Talk to you all soon!

Jamie,
Hopefully no one will get sick! I was thinking about that to being so close to the end of the ship and also so far down..yikes, but I have heard that the bottom and top of the boat are the best in rough weather. When I cruised 2 years ago we hit a storm and I tell you what we were about rolling out of our beds but I didnt get sick thankfully.

We are early dinner as well.

I dont know when a good time to meet will be since it seems like right after the sail away party everyone is going to be getting around for Dinner....we could always meet before hand ??

Hi Everyone,
I think I got my answer this morning about the twins sleeping in different rooms. I got up with Taylor (she's sick) in the middle of the night. At 5:30 AM Lauren is screaming, "Mommy, Mommy Taylor no no in bed."

We are wait listed for early dining. We haven't had any luck so far. I may try to change once we board. I have the girls signed up for FLounders every night from 8-10 PM. I thought they would sit better through the shows than through a long dinner. After the way they behaved this week at Regan's Christmas program, I'm not sure.

I got to the spend the day working as an aide in Blake's classroom. His teachers aide fell and broke her arm yesturday during afternoon carpool. I got to ask his teacher about him missing school for vacation. I do have to send a note in after break. She will save his work for him to do when we get back. I feel relieved. Being new to the school I wasn't sure how they felt about children missing for vacations.

Tiffany it sounds like your group is going to have a blast together. I like the idea of the kids getting to meet each other too. If they make friends I figure they will be more into spending lots of time at the kids club.

Talk to you soon.

I hope we will have fun, my DH doesnt really get along with my 3 brothers so I imagine he wont want to do much with everyone :guilty: but thats okay, I am sure we will have plenty of alone time  :rotfl:

I hope you can get your dinner changed.

Hopefully the kids can meet, I am really worried about my 5 & 6 year old...they are so much alike i am afraid they will fight like cats and dogs because they wont know anyone else there so they will tend to hang around each other a lot more.

If Blake and Regan don't like being in the kids clubs it is going to be a long 4 days for us with no alone time :rotfl2: Tiffany have you cruised with a 2 yr old before? If you have do you think FLounders is better for shows or dinner?

Robert took a long nap when I got in with Blake from school yesturday. He had a rough day with the girls. Taylor seems to be feeling better this morning. She slept through the night and is up laughing and playing.

Michele,
The first disney cruise I went on with my children we only took the 2 oldest. They were 4 & almost 3 at the time( We left the 18 month & 8 month old with grand parents) . Paige was almost 3 so they let her go into the kids club so we never had to use flounders so no advice there. ( My second Disney cruise I left the kids and hubby home...it was a wonderful womens only trip! :rotfl2: )

I am sure Blake & Regan will have fun :)

Glad to hear Taylor is feeling better :)

Hey everyone!
I just checked my reservation (again, it's a sickness) and I noticed my dinner time no longer said 6:00pm. It just says Main Dinner Seating. What is that all about? Are they not doing a staggered dinner seating and is this the early time?
I hope you all get over all your sicknesses. We have had some kind of killer virus around here, terrible congestion and coughing and it hangs on for weeks. (I work in the schools and it is widespread; my family, except for my four year old, have all had it and almost everyone I know). I hope it just strengthens the immune system for January!

Hey everyone!!!

No docs for US yet - :confused3 but ANY day now I'm sure!

Michele,
Well, I ended up wrapping up a "certificate" that I made up and they opened it on Christmas Eve. They were really excited! I don't think Nathan actually "got it" right away though - cuz a few minutes later when I was trying to take a picture of them w/the certificate he asked "what that paper meant" (Jake read it out loud, but very fast and he was busy laughing and jumping up and down) so then I explained it to Nathan - and that's when it dawned on him - so I got a cute picture of his look of surprise! Then we played the planning DVD for them, which they really enjoyed. The funny thing is they have barley asked ANY questions about it. Nathan did ask WHEN - but of course Jake has this "thing" about not wanting to know - so we just said "in less than a month". Since then neither one has said too much about it - of course I keep bringing it up and telling them little things about it and showing them pictures etc. on the internet, but I swear if I didn't say anything we could probably just wake them up the day we leave and surprise them all over again! Weird kids - I would want to know EVERYthing about it - but not them! They MUST be their father's children - ha!
Does anyone have any idea's yet for a time/place to meet?? I was thinking maybe around 3:00 ish?? but where? I have NO clue! Nathan did seem excited when I told him (and showed him the pictures) of Blake and the other kids - so that is a good sign!

Does Blake swim? Nathan LOVES the water - but he isn't very brave in it! He HATES to get his face wet, so it's been challanging for him at times. We need to do more swimming lessons this winter - but won't get that in before the cruise unfortunately. I did sign him up for the Stringray excursion at Castaway Cay - he SAYS he wants to do it - we'll SEE.

Is anyone else doing that excursion?

Well, I better get back to my "to do" list here! I'll be in touch!

I haven't been very active on this thread, but we are on the 1/15/06 Wonder Cruise as well, it is my fiance', his 10yr son and myself (sorry I'm not up on the correct Disney lingo). This is their first cruise so it should be fun. "Our" son was so excited when he finally figured out this gift for Christmas, I setup a scavenger hunt and along the way there were Disney items included, finally towards the end he realized a theme and I don't think he was very excited, he isn't really into Disney, his main interests are with sports, but when I explained he could play basketball in the middle of the ocean, he got excited.

Looking forward to our cruise and to meet everyone!!!

Maybe the second day would work better that way no one is rushed ?? I mean I hate to wait until the second day since its only a 4 day cruise but I dont want anyone to feel like they have to rush around...it is vacation afterall :rotfl:

We are planning to get to the port between 10:30-11. It depends on how long it takes to drive from Jacksonville to Port Canaveral. Meeting at 1:30 or 2 seems good since we can't get in our rooms yet. It sounds like that will give us all time to eat and do any running around we need to do. Robert thinks I'm nutty for starting to pack so early.

Hi all,

Just found this thread.......We will also be on the Wonder 1/15-1/19. First time cruisers here and really looking forward to our trip. It will be me, my husband and our 5 yr old son. Received our cruise documents this week! Yeah! We will be spending the rest of the week at the AKL - looking forward to that too becasue we have never stayed there. Anyone spending the day at The Atlantis? I booked a room for around $200 at Comfort Suites so we can use all of the facilities. So worth it - we stayed there last fall and it was amazing - especially all the pools, cool slides and shark tanks! Our son loved it! Looking forward to a much needed vacation.....

Hello Everyone!

Just finished filling out our docs :cool1: - hope they are right!

Started a little pre-packing today (made the kids try on clothes to see what fits! etc.) So I'm feelin' good about that!

Can we really not get in our rooms till 2:30 Tiffany??? DANG - I kept thinking I read 1:30 - Oh well, I'm sure we'll be plenty busy till then anyway! Nice to have the voice of experiance to help us out - that's for sure!

Also wanted to say HI! to Stephanie and HeatherAnne - we also have a boys - they are 7 and 13. I bet the little boys are going to have a blast when they get together! (Here's hopin' my "big" boy does too!)

We are also heading back to Orlando after the cruise! We are staying off site at a time share type place called Regal Palms for 2 nights after the cruise - flying home on Saturday. We have one day left on some hoppers so our plan right now is to head directly to the parks when we get off the ship and hit EPCOT (just want to take the kids on Soarin' and see Turtle Talk w/Crush) and then over to MGM for the rest of the day to get in some stuff we didn't do last time...we should be good and exhausted after that! Friday I'm thinkin' sleep in & just hang at the resort if the wheather is good as it looks like they have a great pool area w/lazy river etc. and then maybe go to the magic show at Wonderworks for dinner.

Chef Mickey's sounds fun for dinner Michele - have only been there once for b-fast and I loved it!

I am not sure when everyone will meet. It looks like the best time would be after lunch / before the boat drill but I dont want to leave anyone out if they are late getting onboard.....after the boat drill would probably work but then everyone will be getting ready for the sail away party & then dinner afterwards so I dont know...does anyone have any suggestions ??

I think 1:30/2 would work best if everyone is planning on being aboard at that time since everyone should be done with lunch unless you guys want to meet before we board the boat ????? :confused3

It is possible we might see each other in the terminal since it seems everyone is arriving relatively early. We are planning to drive from the Charleston (SC) area and get there around 10:30, we hope. I am going to put my kids in matching shirts for sure, either green (not lime, don't have it) or red. My husband and I might try to coordinate with them too for the picture we will get when we board. My daughter is 9, and my son is 4 and he wears little round glasses!

Onboard in the afternoon to meet seems good too.

My kids still don't know we are going even though my daughter got a new bathing suit for Christmas and they both got surf shirts. Also, our Wal-mart up this way already has flip-flops in ($1.94), so I would think anyone of them in Florida would have them in(I think I remember one of you worrying about that.) I think we are going to tell the kids on this coming Sunday night...we are excited just thinking about that. I am planning to pack over the weekend.

Hi Stephanie ~ Glad to hear there is at least one other older boy - too bad they won't be in the same group though - darn!! Unfortunately, Jake's not very sports minded - much to his (former high school hockey star) Dad's chagrin! He was in Tae Kwon Do for a few years but quit once he got his black belt - much to BOTH his parents chagrin!!! He does enjoy some stuff like volley ball and some water sports though - and I suspect he will be intrigued by the gym on the ship - is it open air? (Sorry if that's a dumb question!!) If so, that WOULD be pretty cool even if ya don't like basketball!

Hey, are any of you planning outfits for "dress up night"?? I can't decide what to pack for that...Mark thinks shirts and ties for him and the boys and a dressy dress for me - but I'm a little nervous now that we'll feel over dressed - he says he really doesn't care that much if we are, but I don't like to stick out like a sore thumb if ya know what I mean!

Hi Jamie,
I've been wondering the same thing about dress clothes. I think Robert is going to take a button down shirt and tie for wearing to brunch at Palo and Trition's. For Blake I'm taking 2 polos, two short sleeve button down shirts, khaki and navy pants. Right now I am thinking about taking a dressy dress, sun dress, black pants and gray skirt. I wasn't sure if I needed to pack another dressy dress for brunch at Palo. Regan I have 2 dresses, 2 skirts and tops. I'm not sure if I need dress clothes for the twins. I have a dress, 3 capri pants and tops packed for them in case we need them.

Hi Michele,
Sounds like we are the same track with what to pack. My boys eacg have one polo, one button down short sleeve shirt, one button down long sleeve (w/ties) and then a pirate t-shirt. when I actually started going through my outfits I realized I have almost all BLACK (long black pants, black capri's, black skirt w/some patchwork details for pirate night AND a black dressy dress!!) I do have white capris too- would that look funny in the winter though? I also have a sundress that I was thinking of wearing to brunch at Palo's ...I don't know, maybe I'll still have to re-work my wardrobe a little - but I'm running out of time!!!

Do you have outfits picked out for embarkation? I am thinking of wearing a lime green top w/ something denim (most likely jeans - but if it's hot a skort) I have matching lime green t-shirts for the boys and I'm not sure yet what Mark will wear - I have to be a little more creative about bossing him around - HA! That should be enough lime green to get us noticed though huh?! HA,ha!

I guess I'll bring my one and only lime green shirt, don't think I can talk the boys into it though!

Y'all are WAY ahead of me, I have some clothes set out and started to set out Kelby's clothes, but in no way am I even close to being packed!!

I wonder how dressy people get, I'm going to start a general thread to get more input.

Can't wait to meet everyone!

Oh-today at Target, I bought Kelby and I white bucket hats (on clearance for 74 cents!!!)we are going to decorate them with paint pens for the trip!!!

Hi Steph,
I can only work for about 5-10 min before my darling two year olds get into mischief. Last night I tried to get a couple of things packed for Robert. I came back down stairs to find that they had opened the refrigerator and gotten out an egg. They had cracked the egg and seperated it into several measuring cups. They did throw the shell away in the trash can. They are getting a little neater with their mess making. :rotfl2:

Hi Jamie,
I think white dressy capris would be fine to wear. I think I'll pack another sundress for brunch. I only have one shirt that's close to a lime green I will wear that Sunday. If we don't spot each other in lime we can always look for someone else that is always dressed in black at night. :)

Hi Michele,
Just have to say - loved the story about your twins - too funny!

Thanks for the reassurance on the white capri's - sadly, I am STILL in flux about my wardrobe - eeeeek! I just haven't had time to think about it much...too many KIDS around this house to think straight for long about anything (oh, I do daycare!)!! So I totally relate to your getting 5 - 10 minute time slots to do stuff!! I swear I'm gonna figure it out any day now though - mark my words! :teeth:

Mark actually stayed home this afternoon with all the kids and let me go out and run around doing a bunch of my errands! I got sucked in at Mall of America and ended up walking around that place for hours! I never did come up with any new clothes - but I did get myself and the boys each some new shoes and few other things I needed. Plus I did get a couple other stops in too, so I did pretty good. I still have a nice long list, but at least I made some headway!

Well, I'm actually thinking about going and dragging the suitecases out now (so don't worry Steph - I'm not ahead of ANYone!) - it is 11:30 pm, but it's finally QUIET so maybe I can actually concentrate for more than a couple minutes in a row - that is, IF Jacob is finally done popping out of his room to ask me random questions for no apparent reason! He gets up at 6:30 am - you'd THINK he'd be tired - but I guess not.

Any more thoughts about setting up a meeting time/place? I was thinking I could also PM our cell phone #'s too (they'll still work while in port I'm sure). I kind of suspect we'll spot each other at the terminal anyway, but it never hurts to have a back up plan.

Hi everyone! I went to Home Depot today to pick up some lime green Disney paint chips (they are in the shape of mickey head & ears). I plan on making it into a pin and wearing it next Sunday! I'll also plan on wearing the one lime green shirt I have (might opt for my tropical lime/teal top depending on the weather).

Can't wait till next week!

Apparently the transmission in our van is starting to go out so if that is the case ( we are going to try and get it looked at this week) we might not be going...it will be a choice between using the money for vacation or the money to fix our van.
I am so bummed, we have been waiting over a year for this trip and I really need a vacation. Pray that a miracle happens and nothing is wrong with our van please. :sad1:

I have gotten my kids almost completely packed except I have got to get some more underwear for my 5 year old! We ran to Goodwill earlier today and grabbed him another swimsuit as well. I am about done packing my stuff too. Like Jamie, you may find me in black at dinnertime. I am only taking a pair of black dress pants and then a variety of coordinating tops. My husband is not at all worried (naturally) so he will pack Friday.

We could possibly coordinate meeting at one of the pools. I am planning to eat then take the kids to the pools. But really it doesn't matter so much to me. I can always leave them and come myself for a bit.

We are going to tell the kids tonight that we are going next weekend. It will hard to keep the packing mess a secret all week long!

Pool sounds good to me! We will probably be checking them out as well, after we grab a bite to eat. Which one is the kid pool? The Mickey pool? The kid pool gets my vote.

Since we might all be there at different times, should we pick a time, or find another way to recognize one another?

Wow! I hope kids get better quickly AND let's cross our fingers that no one else catches it. No fun. And how about the sick car?

Mickey pool sounds great to me. I sincerely doubt you will catch me in the pool in Ft. Lauderdale. Once we get to warmer waters, I might. Southerners have thin, thin blood, and as far as I am concerned any weather under 80 degrees is too frigid for swimming. (Luckily my kids don't feel the same way.) SO, you will probably find me in a pink hoodie jacket and jeans. I have dark brown, shoulder length hair and usually wear black wrap-around shades, and if I can remember, I will wear a kelly green ball cap with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on it. I will probably be, at all times, the person with the most clothes on...I'm worried about the temperature diving down into the 60's in the evenings. So you may be able to pick me out!

Also, do any of you know what the show is to be the 1st night (Sunday)?

OH NO! Tiffany and Michele ~ I am SO sorry to hear about your troubles!!
I am sending LOADS of pixie dust to both of you and will keep you in my prayers too that all will be well very soon - with kids AND vans!! :grouphug:

Tiffany - please give us an update on your van situation as soon as you can - I am SO hoping it's not as serious as you were thinking!!!

On a happier note - I think meeting by the Mickey pool would work fine - sounds like we are all on the same page about that already - eat lunch and then let the kids swim a little. Not sure how to recognize each other though -I can PM our cell phone #'s if that helps. Hopefully we'll recognize you Michele (and family) from the photo's you posted earlier! Personally, I am on the short side with long blond hair - still thinking I'll be wearing a lime green shirt - but if it's cold it'll be under a jacket! I'm not from the south - but I should be ;) ! Mark is shortish too and has dark brown hair, Jake is about my height, has braces & glasses (med brown hair) and Nathan is really small for his age - looks about 5/6 (he's 7) skinny, has some missing teeth and dark blond hair - ok, he's cuter than he sounds :rotfl: !! Anyway, that's us in a nutshell...

Can't believe we'll be there in less than a WEEK!!!

Jamie,
So far the situation is not looking good. The person we had looking at it was a bit stumped ( which is not good when he has been a mechanic for 20+ years) so he is going to take it to a transmission specialist( or something like that) today to look at.

I havent even started packing yet, we were planning on leaving Friday morning and I should be really excited but its hard to be excited when we may not be going.

Not sure what I will be wearing yet, but the Mickey pool sounds like a good idea to meet at.

Hi everyone!

I am so relieved to hear that we are not the only ones who didn't make it to the pool as planned! I really wanted to make it there, but that afternoon took on a lilfe of it's own and we were getting ready for dinner before we knew what hit us.

Wow Michele - you really DID have an eventful trip!!! I am so sorry to hear about all of Taylor's troubles! Did she have to go see the ship Dr. for the scratched cornea? How the heck did she manage to break her collar bone? Poor kid! I really hope she (and all of you!) are recovering from all your adventures :goodvibes . No need to apologize for not calling back by the way - the cruise felt like a whirlwind to us - and I can about IMAGINE what it felt like to YOU! I think I mentioned in my message that I did get Nathan and Blake together, so that was fun. Nathan always wanted to know if Blake would be in the club when he was going. He said they had fun together, so that was good.

I am curious what dining rotation did everyone get? We ended up with the earliest (5:30) and found that we really ended up feeling rushed alot, so that is the one thing I would change, (well, other than some of the wheather!) but other than that we had a great time!

I think it might take at least a week to catch up on our sleep though.

Jamie,
It was great that Blake and Nathan got to meet. We didn't take Taylor to the dr on the ship. I was ready to take her Wed. morning and she started doing better. At WDW she fell off the bed and landed on her shoulder while we were unloading the van. The hotel called an ambulance out to look at her. The EMT's thought she had sprained her shoulder. They didn't think she had broken anything. After a few days she still wasn't using her arm and would cry when we changed her clothes... We had her checked out and the x-rays showed a hairline fracture of her collar bone. She would only wear the arm sling for a day. She is doing much better now. How was your trip to Orlando after the cruise? Did your boys have lots of work to make up at school? Blake finished his missed assignments last night. He had more to make up than I thought he would.

Tiffany We are missing the warmer weather too.

Hi Michele,
I'm so glad to hear that Taylor is doing better so soon. It always amazes me how quick kids can bounce back from things! If it were ME I'd still be whimpering and acting pathetic no doubt  . I hope you were still able to really enjoy your vacation - things like that can make it challanging to say the least.

Yes, Nathan had a TON of homework! His teacher sent 24 pages with us, plus two lists of sight words to memorize, a spelling list and a travel journal to keep daily (along with a written note asking him to count all change, read signs etc. etc.) - this was for THREE missed days! I thought it was a LOT for that amount of days out. He did get it all done and turned in on Monday though, so that was a relief. My 8th grader on the other hand, had 3 worksheets in one class only - it was the end of the quater though and they were working on just getting everything cleaned up before the new one started I guess, - but STILL! I couldn't believe it.

Our stay in Orlando was really great. We actually headed right to the parks after debarking the ship and got to Epcot just after 9:00 am. We just did Soarin', Mission Space and Turtle Talk though and then headed over to MGM to eat lunch, take the boys to see the stunt show, let Nathan meet the Power Rangers, Ride RNRC (me and Jake) do the Backlot Tour and then headed over to MK for dinner at LTT, a couple quick rides on BTTMR and watched the fireworks before heading out to check in at our resort. It was a HUGE day, but everyone held up really well considering how early we got up. We just hung out at the resort pool on Friday and then went to Wonder Works for the comedy/magic show that evening. That was great fun as they ended up getting first Nathan, then me and finally Mark up on the stage at one time or another for silly skits and such. We could not even believe they got Nathan on that stage :teeth: - it was priceless! A VERY memorable evening indeed!

Did you get to do all that you planned in between your mishaps? What parks did you hit? Did you like the resort you stayed at - one of the All Stars right?
We almost always stay off sight, so I enjoy hearing other peoples experiances.

Hi Jamie,
Wow. You got to do a lot in your day at the park. We've only been during the summer before. I got spoiled with not having to wait in line for the rides. It will be hard to go during a busier time of year now. We went to MK Friday. We had breakfast at the castle before the park opened. We did all of the rides in fantasy land. We also went to Mickey's toon town. I watched Cinderellabration while the twins slept and Robert took Blake and Regan to tomorrow land. We left the park at 5:30 and went back to the hotel to swim. We stayed at AS Music. I liked it. I don't have much to compare it to. The only other time we've stayed on site we were at Pop. They are pretty similiar. I liked that AS Music seemed less crowded. It could just be the time of year. Pop has more menu choices and the pop jets that my kids enjoyed. Do you usually stay at the same place off site? Wonder Works sounds like fun. Where is it at? I've never heard of it before.

I can't believe how much make up work Jamie had. Blake had 15 worksheets to do most were front and back. I guess he didn't have it as bad as I thought. I still don't feel like I've climbed out of the post vacation hole. It was so nice not to have to cook, do dishes, or clean for a week. Hope this goes through I've been having trouble posting again :confused3

Hi Michele,
Your day at MK sounds wonderful! We had b-fast at the castle before park opening one year when we went too - and it was one of the highlights of that trip for me. Sounds like you got ALOT done that day too - and all by 5:30! I too am spoiled with the low crowds. I just could never tolerate crowds AND heat - so I admire you for going in the summer! We have only gone during the winter and have been really lucky with having great wheather every day.

No, we actually have never stayed at the same place twice. The "first" time (well, in recent histoy anyway) we went we stayed at what was then The Holiday Inn Family Suites (now it's the Nick Hotel) and that was great, but the next time we went we took my parents, my older mentally handicapped brother plus our own family so we rented a pool home for the extra space. We liked that, but decided the next time it would be nice to have a little "seperation" from my parents (we love 'em, but stick to us like glue...) so when we went back with the same group in 2004 we rented side by side condo's at Cypress Point. When Mark and I went back alone in Oct. for our belated anniversery trip we were going to stay there again, but ended up doing priceline and getting a room at The Omni Resort at Championsgate - a little bit farther out, but pretty luxurious (especially since they gave us the royal treatment!). Mark had insisted that we spend at least ONE night on site that trip (it was only four nights) so for the last night we moved to Coranado Springs - it was beautiful, but we were so spoiled at the Omni! This trip we changed our minds on hotels about a hundred times it seemed, but we finally ended up staying at Ron Jon's for the night b-4 the cruise (VERY nice!) and then rented a 4 bedroom, 4 bath condo at Regal Palms for the two nights after the cruise. It was bigger than we needed, but we rented directly from an owner (through VRBO) and got a great deal ($99.00 a night all taxes etc. included!). We LOVED being able to spread out a little after the 4 of us sharing one state room on the ship, which is why we went that route in the first place. We really haven't found a place yet that we DIDN'T like - but there are just so many options, I'm always finding a new one! Anyway, that was sure long winded - but hey, your used to that by now!
Wonderworks is somewhere on International Drive - I would have thought we couldn't miss it (have noticed it in the past even) as it is a building that is made to look as if it's upside down...well, we drove right past it (looking for it on the wrong side of the road - duh!) - but it's not too hard to spot - for MOST people :p If you ever go back I highly recommend it - they have a whole floor of interactive science type stuff for the kids, plus laser tag - but we only did the comedy/magic "dinner" show - they serve all you can eat pizza, popcorn and pop. The food was just OK, but the show was great.

It sounds to me like Blake and Nathan actually had almost the exact same amount of work - I just counted fronts and back seperately!
I totally know what you mean about climbing out of the vacation hole - I didn't even feel good for the whole week after we got back. Just getting back in the swing of things a little now!

Speaking of that I better go and get back to reality here. Sorry this is SO long!!! Hope you are having a nice week...
Jamie :)

Hi Jamie,
Thanks for letting me know about Wonder Works and where you stay in Orlando. Do you have any other siblings besides your brother? I can't get my family to go with us to WDW :confused3 . I think it be a lot fun to have a family vacation there. I have 2 brothers (1 older, 1 younger) and 2 sisters (younger). My parents don't think they can do that much walking. My brothers aren't thrilled with the idea of spending a week there. It looks like we'll be going back this summer. We tried to talk the kids into staying somewhere on the beach for a week. They didn't like that idea and want to go back to WDW. Have a good weekend. :wave2:

My oldest brother was planning to go with us on one of our trips, but ended up backing out because he lost his job shortly before that, and my younger brother sometimes acts mildly interested, but never seems to want to commit as far ahead as we do - and then it just never happens as something always comes up. I have mixed feelings about them coming or not - I always want EVERYONE to go - but then when they don't I figure it's two less opinions I have to try to accomadate as I make ALL the plans. Maybe someday they will join us and that would fun because by then hopefully I won't have too much of my own agenda to worry about - ha! I have NO idea when we'll be back though because now we have to save to go to California for a wedding in the fall of 2007 and I don't think we are going to squeeze in any more trips between now and then :( ...doesn't keep me from checking airfare constantly though (I am so BAD!). I am so jealous that you are going back this summer - how FUN! Will you be driving again and how long will you stay? How do your kids hold up in the heat? I'm afraid mine might give new meaning to the word WHINE! I would LOVE to surprise Nathan with a quick trip to Seaworld for his b-day since he's just become obsessed with dolphins and whales since our trip and talks about going to Seaworld all the time now. He see's the pictures of when we were there a few years ago, but doesn't remember a thing because he was only 3! Anyway, I'm sure we won't make it there before our California trip, but even if we could I'm not sure how he would handle all the heat - he doesn't like it so much when it gets hot here! Still I dream... :sunny:
Hope all is well with you and yours!

Hi Jamie,
We are going to drive again this summer. The kids did pretty well on the drive home during the day. Now that we know that they can make the drive in the day light hours no more drving through the night while they are sleeping. Hopefully we'll start our vacations from now on well rested rather than exhausted. We are probably going to stay 5 nights but we'll probably only go to the parks 2 days unless our children turn into angels. :rotfl2: I need to reserve a room soon. I keep holding off thinking maybe there will be a discount released or that we'll get a pin code. We are going to try to take a break during the day to avoid the worst of the heat. Other than that we drink a lot of water and take the kids to the water play areas to cool off.

I hope you enjoy your trip to California. Maybe you can go to Disneyland while you're out that way. I have always wanted to go out west but the farthest west I've been is Chicago. Sad isn't it?

It was good to hear from you again. Talk to you soon. :wave2:

Hey! Thanks for not giving up on me! It was nice to hear from you again too!

I SO wish we were within driving distance of WDW!!!! OH--- the danger that would be - :teeth: ha,ha!!!! I don't know exactly how long it would take to drive from here, but I know it would take a couple of days anyway (with stops and all) and we never have enough time to spare that we could dedicate 4 days of our trip to driving. Not that I haven't thought of it - many a time!! Air fare is just killer! It's unfortunate though because I do think our kids are finally old enough to MAYBE not kill each other on a long car trip  . I don't know though - we are driving to IL Easter weekend for a family get together so we'll get a little taste of how they are on a longer trip in the car (it's only 6 hours though). We are also surprising them and leaving a day early so we can stop and spend one night at a water park hotel in Wisconsin Dells. So they will only have one stint of 6 hours on the way home - not much of a test. Probably won't matter as like I mentioned before I doubt we'll be going very far between now and the Calif. trip. :guilty: A little depressing, but I guess I'll live. I have been checking out the Disney Land boards once in a while...I'm not sure how much time we are going to be out there though because the wedding is set for 3 weeks after shcool starts for the year and Jake will be a SOPHMORE by then (can you say YIKES??!!!) I keep hearing it's almost impossible to pull high shcool kids due to the work load, so I'm still in the pre-pre planning stages of what kind of trip that will be. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to resist taking them out for at least a couple of days so we can do SOMEthings!! We'll see.

I know what you mean about holding out for a good rate on the rooms - hopefully you are right though and a code will come out!! Do you have left over tickets? I keep seeing that deal for tickets w/the free upgrade to hoppers plus water parks I think? That sounds like such a good deal.
What do you do on your non-park days then? Hang at the resort and swim? That is what my kids would vote for I'm sure - they probably wouldn't mind that plan at all (I'm the one with the big agenda always!)!
What fun to have another trip to look forward to.

Well, thanks again for digging this thread up - it's kind of fun to get an update evey now and then!

Hi Jamie,
It is a 14 hr drive from here. I wish we could afford to pay 6 airfares. The trip would be so much faster. Maybe one day we'll hit the lottery or something :) We did the same ticket upgrade offer that they have now after the cruise. We got 10 day passes for everyone except the twins (who are still free). We have 8 days left on them. They haven't had a room only discount in a long time. So we probably will be out of luck. I wanted to post some pictures from the cruise. I can't remember our login on the photobucket site. Hopefully Robert will remember. When are your boys out for spring break? Blake and Regan are off school the first week of April. Do you have plans to go anywhere over the break? I had thought about going to Indy for the weekend. I didn't know the NCAA basketball finals were there this year. That cancelled the trip because the hotel rooms were mostly sold out or very expensive. Enjoy your trip to IL!! Talk to you soon.
