Former Cast Member (1990 - 1997) getting jonesed up for a possible WDW vacation in October. Discovered this site and was very excited. Seems like a lot of friendly people and great info.

So...all the time I worked at WDW I swore I would not take my kids there until they were at least 4 or so. (due to observations I made of families with small children plus the fact that if I'm gonna spend at least a couple grand, I want the kid to REMEMBER IT!) Well, guess what? My son is turning two next month and we want to go on a vacation since we haven't really been able to go anywhere for the past couple of years.

DW is dying to go to Orlando again--she had never been to WDW or Orlando until she met me. We have been twice now--once to WDW and once to go to Discovery Cove/Sea World/Universal/IOA.

I believe I have convinced myself to go ahead and go--yes, even with a two-year old who's favorite phrase is "no, da da. no no no". :earseek:

Any words of advice for travelling (within WDW) with said two-year old are greatly appreciated. I am a pro at working the parks when it's my wife and I but have never gone with kids.

I don't have much advice as we're also going on our first WDW trip with children, including a newly turned 3 yr. old. Should be a totally different experience than when we went as newlyweds 11 years ago! I can't wait though!

I'm looking forward to seeing some of the advice you get. Good luck with your trip!

I went to WDW twice with a 2 year old. Now they are eight and five. My suggestions would be to go early and take afternoon breaks for naps or a swim in the pool. That way you can head back in the late afternoon and everyone is well rested and ready for more. Have fun. :blush:

That's what we are thinking. The good thing is, we've both been now so we don't feel like we HAVE to do everything. We think if we go at a nice, easy-going pace and make sure he gets enough rest, we should be ok.

Welcome to the boards! :wave: We went when my daughter was 2. As long as you know that your plans might be changed at the drop of a hat, you will have a great time. The look on my little girls face made it all worth while. We also did the nap and swim each afternoon at the hotel for a break. We didn't get to see it all, but it was like being there for the first time all over again. Have fun! :flower:
