Well, I guess that it's about time to decide about this year's Memorial Day picnic. Since three people have asked me about it this morning, I want to officially announce that we will have a picnic again this year. But just the Sunday picnic this year. And breakfast the following morning. But I need a break from Cedar Point.

The picnic will officially begin at noon on Sunday and run until the last person goes home. Breakfast will be bright and early on Monday morning because this year both of our kids will be marching in the Memorial Day parade. We provide all the burgers, hot dogs, chips, and soft drinks. And bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, Belgian waffles, orange juice, and coffee for breakfast.

So there you have it. If you think you can make it, drop me a line or post a reply just so that we can get an idea of just how much food and drink to buy (and so that I can send you directions to our house). And if you want to bring something for the picnic, that's fine too. Just let me know so that we don't end up with a bunch of green bean cassaroles with French's dried onions on the top.

Yes I'm sure we could. Danny doesn't work for Kroger anymore but I still shop there on occasion.

I guess that I knew that. Sorry about that Juli. You don't have to bring buns. And they don't have to come from Kroger if you do bring some. No need to take your business there. :badpc:

Kids are most certainly welcome. We have an air hockey table and lots of video games in the basement and a big yard that (weather permitting) is a great place to play badmitton or croquet.

Luis and I will be there for at least Sunday!!!! Happy to bring food, but I think given the drive it would have to be either a dessert or chips or anything that can easily make a 2 hour drive ;) Let me know what you think you'll need!

I don't think we've decided if we are skipping church or not... sadly for us that would mean we wouldn't get there until 12:30 or 1 if we didn't skip

We'll decide soon though and we'll be there for sure at some point :)

Buns Danny??? Is that your nickname for your DH??? :earseek:

The grill will be fired up all day, so come early or late, there will be plenty of food and drink. And home movies too. Of the Nordonia High School Marching Band performance at the Magic Kingdom. And a short movie of the Disney Magic going through the Miraflores Locks of the Panama Canal. And maybe even a couple of scenes from "Once Upon A Mattress". And if you're good, I'll show you the backstage photos that I took when we got stuck on It's A Small World this past April.

And if you're lucky, the weather will be nice and you can stay outside and miss all of this "entertainment". :rotfl2:

No Danny's nickname is lepy as in lepoard. I meant the hamburger and hot dog buns. See what happens when I reply to early in morning.

I will be there after church, around 12 or 12:30, I work in the nursery, so it depends on how fast my babies parents pick them up, just let me know if I should bring something.

We'll be heading out after church, and after DH practices with the worship team. Probably should get there around 2:30-3:00.

Any plans for a meet and greet this year

Well...Memorial Day has come and gone, and I believe Towncrier's son was graduating from high school around that time. Maybe NEXT year!

Towncrier

Nancy has it correct. We postponed the annual Memorial Day picnic and held it a week later in celebration of James' high school graduation. I'm not certain what our plans will be for 2007. I certainly missed having everyone over to share in our celebration of Memorial Day this year.

You don't have to wait until then to have a DISmeet, though. Just name a date, place, and time. True DISers will look for any excuse to get together and share their love of all things Disney.

A few years ago, we had an official DISers day at the Yankee Peddler Festival. If anyone is interested, we could try that again. The festival is held the first three weekends after Labor Day weekend. I'm there all three weekends and not too hard to spot (although I don't wear any lime green on my town crier costume). Perhaps I'll see some of you there.
