We have an intermediate size car reserved at MCO with Dollar Rent A Car.due to what credit card we are using. We ended up changing from my DH being the main driver to me as the credit card has to be in the drivers name I believe and that is my credit card. He will be doing all the driving and will have to be listed as an additional driver. Do I need to alert them before we get to the counter that he will be an additonal driver?? Is there a fee for him in Orlando does anyone know, somewhere on the Dollar website I read that spouses are not charged an extra fee as an additonal driver..any info on this is helpful..thanks!!!

Yes you will need to alert Dollar at the counter, that he will be the additional driver, he must also be present, and must show his driver's license, which they will enter into the computer. I don't know if Dollar charges an additional fee. DH and I have been traveling together for years, using Alamo, Budget, and National, before I started reading the DIS, I never realized that ANY Car rental agency imposed additional fees for spouse/drivers, since we have never paid one.:)

Last time I rented from Dollar at MCO, there was a $5 per day charge for DH as additional driver.

I was just playing with reservations on the Dollar website and the $5/day extra driver was in the fine print.
Dollar takes debit cards if that helps your situation!

I just called Dollar about this earlier today. Yes, there is an additional $5 per day fee for your spouse to be able to drive. Also, he must be at the counter to give his drivers license. Can you rebook using a different credit card, and put your DH as the driver?
