Do you have to be staying at the resort (or at any WDW resort) to attend this - I thought that it might be quite fun for the boys. If anyone has done this I would be interested in any information. Thank You

I thought that too when I took my DD 11 to it. After 15 minutes she was bored and we left. The CM spent most of the time talking though there were two small fire pits where you could buy marshmallows and toast them.
We were staying at POP :cool1:

I don't know if its the same as when we went in 2002 but there was one of the CMs playing a guitar on a small stage and everone joined in the singing. Children celebrating birthdays were called up onto the stage for the obligatory 'Happy Birthday'. There were 2 fire pits where you could roast marshmallows - these could be bought at the campfire. Chip and Dale were there briefly and the evening finished with a movie ona big screen.

cheap and cheerful and good fun as I recollect.

Gary

ps I do remember it was a bit of a walk to get to the campfire from the landing stage.

We went to the campfire last year; it was just as Gary described it. I thought it was good fun for younger kids mine were 4 and 10 (older one was not to keen I think it was her parents showing her up by singing along). Although they both loved setting fire to their marshmallows.

We were staying at the VWL but nobody checked or asked if we were resort guests. I don't think they are to bothered since there are lots of things to spend your money on whilst there such as pony, hay and carriage rides not to mention to odd gift shop here and there.

If you go don’t forget your insect repellent we got eaten alive even though we had put repellent on before we went think we needed a top up whilst there.
