the mickey mouse popcorn popper is on clearance at target now. I got it today for 9.98. And it works pretty well, had a very nice bowl of popcorn this afternoon. :) (the thing was regularly 40$ so I was quite pleased with myself :cool1: ) maggie

Sorry to bother you, but was it the "back to basic" brand with the red bottom and white feet? I was looking on their website and saw this one for $39.99 - maybe I will have to drop into our Target tomorrow morning and see what I can find.

I think I will head over to Target tomorrow morning to check it out. Believe it or not I really do need a new popcorn popper, I just haven't bought this one because it is smaller than the one we have. I have also been trying to hold out to get one of those movie theater popcorn poppers.

hmm, hang on I'll look at the box. yup it was the back to basics one with the red bottom and white feet. I noticed that at one store it was only 50% off (19.98). I'm quite pleased with it though. :) maggie

I got one tonight for $28.93. It was the last one, so I'm happy.....does anyone know how to get the red bowl-thing to fit in the top correctly? Mine doesn't seem to fit right :(

mine just seems to sit there, it doesn't click in or anything... and if it does, well mine doesn't. :) maggie

(of course it took me awhile to figure out how to get the bowl to go in right too, soooooo.....)

I have also been trying to hold out to get one of those movie theater popcorn poppers. We have a movie theater popcorn popper! It's full size on a rolling cart, makes unbelieveable popcorn. We have it in our home theater, but can easily move it to any location in the house. It's a great investment, and makes the room/house "smell" incredible! :goodvibes HOLD~OUT for this purchase, it's worth every penny. :wizard:

Ok, I'm intrigued.... how
much does the movie popcorn
popper cost? I personally don't
like popcorn that much (gasp),
but DH and DD love it!
Thanks!

Thanks for the info. DH and I have been talking about it for years now. We love popcorn and eat a lot of it. But I did break down and went and got the Mickey Popper, it was $20, not too bad. Maybe we will get the movie style one for our anniversary in Dec. I would love to build a home theater in our basement, but we would lose a bedroom and Dh and I can't agree on the type of TV to get in there. LOL

mrsbballref I think we have seen one for about $500 with the cart. Don't remember where though.

Actually, I paid too much for ours :sad2: (through Hammacher Schlemmer catalog), but my sister purchased this one...and it is INCREDIBLE!! :goodvibes She even used a special sale code, and received FREE SHIPPING PLUS and ADDITIONAL 25% off...(making it even more difficult for me to think about!). She ended up paying about $320, including sales tax. ;)

Here's the link to her item:

It may benefit you to try different searches on the web under "JC PENNY Discount code, and JC PENNY discount coupon, etc." This is how she located all her discount offers (She's a Savvy shopper!).

The differences between our machines are so slight, I KICK MYSELF everytime I visit her and see hers!!! She uses it as I do, for KETTLE CORN (addicting), CARAMEL CORN (sinful), CHEDDER (both white and yellow) and plain old BUTTERY MOVIE STYLE THEATER Popcorn (DH's FAV)!! We've had ours for a little over a year, and use it all the time. It's so easy to use/clean, and we find most of the delicious variety ingredients at...(of all places) TARGET!!

These machines are the end-all for a POPCORN LOVER!! It will be one of the BEST investments you have ever purchased. If you have kids...they will ADORE IT, hubbies too! You don't even need a home theater, just a place to roll it out and plug it in. It moves so easily, my sister stores hers in her sunroom, and brings it in the LR for a POPPING!!! :)

Hope this helps!! :wave2:

Thanks dreamflight99,

I emailed the link to DH and told him how much you enjoy yours. I think we will end up with one soon. :teeth: We make way to much popcorn for this not to be a good deal for us. I will only buy Orville Redenbacker to pop in our popper, the other brands just don't seem to make as good popcorn, and it is very expensive. Dh just wants to buy the big bulk bag of movie popcorn. :rotfl: I guess we will need a movie style butter thing too.

You're welcome! :goodvibes Let me know when you obtain this machine, and how much you are enjoying the popcorn! We too...only buy "OR" kernals, as they pop perfectly, and also FLUFFY and HUGE when compared with other brands. Your DH will absolutely LOVE being the popcorn master, as my DH has SO much fun with ours! ;) Once you enter this realm (of theater-style popcorn making), an entire NEW WORLD will open up for you! There are special bags, bowls, signs, toppings, and even BUTTER to make your new hobby more enjoyable. I never even thought about the "movie style butter thing!" NOW...you have piqued my interest!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: I'll be looking around the web today for such a device. LOL. The ones at our theater are fab, and dispense the buttery oily topping at lightning speed (and with precision). Next, I'll need one of those Slurpee machines!! :confused3 :cheer2: TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

just a tip, i buy the movie theater microwave popcorn, cut the bag open put it in my mickey popcorn maker and what great tasting popcorn, beats the cheap plastic bag of popcorn that you have to pay for the exspensive popcorn oil. ;)

Thank you so much. Tried it last night but I added way too much oil and made a mess. :rotfl2: I'll have to try it again tonight.

Glad I didn't get one! I was hoping it was just a hot air pop corn popper! I'm somewhat of a health nut. And they make GREAT (cheap) training treats for Clydas (our 7 month old boxer)

Way back when, my mother used to use a popcorn machine almost every evening for us...so I forgot what freshly popped popcorn really taste like, all I use now for my kids is microwave (gasp) popcorn.

SHould I go out right now and buy a popcorn machine? Tell me what I'm missing.

Thanks to the OP I found the Mickey Popcorn Popper at our Target today for $9.99. When this post originally started our Target still had the $19.99 price. Persistence pays and today I got the LAST one for $9.99. I am going to give it to DS for his Bday next week. He loves Mickey, movies and popcorn so it will be a big hit.

I was able to snag the display model at our Target for $9.81. There were no instructions, so I called the company and asked them to please send me a booklet. What a great deal that was and how CUTE is it?!?!?!
