I am trying to lose 10 pounds. Even 5 would make me happy. I can't seem to do it no matter what I try. I have tried atkins several times (I keep thinking it will eventually work :confused3 ), I have tried low calorie, I have tried low fat. Nothing seems to be working. I go to the gym at least 3 times a week, but really try to make it 5 or 6. I do cardio and weights. I don't think I have gained muscle either...my clothes aren't changing the way they fit. I keep thinking I just need to give up and get a whole new wardrobe, but I am not ready to do that. Any suggestions? Thanks so much and congratulations to you all for doing such a great job.

Hi and welcome to WISH! You said you need to lose 10 pounds. Are you willing to share what your current weight is? Maybe you are at goal and losing these 10 will be pretty hard if your body is fighting to keep the weight on. Upping the intensity of your work outs with weights should help. I have found that the inches come off more readily on my body than the pounds the closer to goal weight I get. The advantage of losing inches is that I can wear clothes in smaller sizes than I should be able to at this weight. Just a suggestion.

You have been given a great suggestion. I recently had a consult with a physical trainer who said exactly the same thing. You may want to work on the exercise thing to tone up more. Remember your water and what kind of exercise/weights are you doing right now? Sometimes a change around is all that is needed.

Thanks for the replies. I am at 125. At this point, I am not focused on the number. Just getting back into some clothes...even my bigger ones would be fine. I am going to a trainer twice a week and he switches the weight training each time so we don't get bored. On the day that I don't see him, I just do some weights on my own. I also do cardio (eliptical, bike, treadmill). Like I said...I am not really worried about the weight...but fitting into my clothes:)
