September 2002, the first time we went to Disneyland, the first time at a Disney park for my husband and children. We thought it would be a once-in-a-lifetime trip. We weren't even going to go, but my mother said that she would take us. When she backed out of the trip, we felt that we couldn't disappoint the children, so we went without her. What a trip! It was so wonderful that we jumped on the chance to be DVC members when we found out about it later that year. You can see from my signature how many times we've been back since. :wizard:

:cool1: We got our cruise planning kit today. It came from our TA. It was sent to AAA and they forwarded it to us, thus, the delay. Check with your TA's if you used one, maybe they'll have info on it. I never even thought of it. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I wont either! I was at work and one of the Doctors called and told us and a patient came out of his room and said you have to come in here! So we all squeezed into room # 4 with the patient! Terrible!!!

:rotfl: Well, Patsy, in 2010 I will have my 20 year high school reunion. Not that I can afford to go, because I'm poor and they asked for several hundred $$$ for the ten year reunion...
BTW, I was wondering about the program you'll be doing this summer? My husband's niece is going to Europe on a school program, too, and I was kind of curious if the two of you would meet up. :hippie:

Hee hee, I had to have this post. In the year 2011, my daughter will turn 13--on 11-11-11! I wanted 2007 also, but I missed it. My son will turn 13 on 07-07-07!

We're still collecting cruiser information....

Well, sort of. Our son was born on 07/07 because my high blood pressure forced us to induce. I got pregnant with my daughter when I did by complete accident--we were planning on trying for another child, but had planned on waiting another few months because I didn't want to be heavily pregnant during the Renaissance Festival, which I was working at the time. (As a consequence of being pregnant, I got "let go", but it worked out in the end.) As my due date of 11/15 got closer, we started thinking how cool it would be to have 07/07 and 11/11. My blood pressure jumped up a tiny bit at my doctor's appointment one or two weeks before my due date, and my husband freaked out  --my first pregnancy was a nightmare and my son nearly died--so they agreed to induce me. My husband picked the date, which happened to work out for them. My daughter must have REALLY wanted to be born that day, because they induced me at 4pm, and she was born at 8:47pm. Not a bad labor!
My husband loves to tell how our kids are 4 years, 4 months, and 4 days apart, and how our son will be 13 on 07/07/07 (trip to Vegas) and our daughter will be 13 on 11/11/11 (another trip to Vegas). This is their reverse year--my son is 11 and my daughter is 7. My daughter thinks that means she gets my son's birthday this year. :lmao: That works for me, because then he won't be 12 until November.
So what are you doing up at 3am? It's not that late for me, but I know it's practically sunrise for you.

I don't see why we can't just do both? Neither one is mandatory, so why don't we just agree that we should buy what we want to? I know several people really want the t-shirts, and I know that several people really *don't* want the t-shirts. I'm still up in the air about t-shirts because I don't have a color printer right now, so they may not even be an option for me.

Start tossing around ideas for what saying we'd like on them. We can stick to our cruise date or add something else with it. I believe we can have up to 25 characters but no licensed logos. I have read about some people putting together three circles to form a Mickey head so that's an option too.
Something to think about.....

Do they come in kids sizes? The ones my DS's school had for Hurricane Katrina relief fit both adults and kids, although they were a little big. I will get wristbands for all the members of my group and do t-shirts for the kids in the lime green. I will be wearing a red t-shirt with the saying "It's Time!" across the front and the Pirate Treasure Map on the back. I know I am such a dork! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I believe they come in two sizes so the kids will have something that fits. As for the saying, I'll go with anything that everyone else wants. You know me, indecisive to the end. :rotfl: Do we want to designate one person to order a BUNCH of wristbands for everyone or should each family/group order their own? The pros/cons.... if we order them together, they're guaranteed to be the same design, and they're cheaper as the quantity increases BUT we won't be able to wear them upon boarding unless we meet up with the person who orders them (whomever that shall be : :) ). :confused3 THEN AGAIN....we'll each be stuck with quantities of 20 unless we double up with other families? Okay , now I am confusing MYSELF! HAHAHA not hard to do! :lmao: Is anyone following me here?

I agree with Vicki, I like the three circles and It's Time 9/3/06 Wonder. I think that says it all! I know at least three of us in my family would want these. I like the idea of having several people go in together for these, since buying twenty would give everyone in my party five bracelets each. :teeth: I can send and receive money via PayPal, so I can be responsible for ordering if anyone wants. But we can also wait to decide how ordering goes until we decide when the meet is. I intend to arrive at the terminal early so I'm available for a pre-cruise meet. I'm a little worried that my family will be running around like crazy during the cruise! We could theoretically hand out bracelets when we meet to share goodies. Speaking of which, I guess it's time to post the list again.
ReallyFunMom, there should be a fairly recent copy of the 4 night navigator here at the Dis--I think it's on the DCL main page.

Well, I guess we decide how many each group needs and then if Blackunicorn wants to be the ordering person, she can place the order and we can each PayPal her our share of the cost. I know that we'll need 10: 7 adult sized bracelets and 3 children's.

I know for our party I'll need 3child sizes and three adult sizes.
What about color band did we agree on??? Did we decide lime green already or did I dream that? Gee, I feel pages behind! I think if it is possible, we should make ONE group order. It might be thought of as one more hassle on cruise day, but I'm sure we all can make things work.
Here's the list of those who want to order wrist bands, which size, and total quantities. Dawn, I hope you don't mind me keeping a tally of who and how many. I have no problem with you ordering or being in charge of Paypal. Cool! We should probably set a final date for monies to be received before you place the order. Okay, I'm being lazy...to view the Cruisin' Goodies list click here (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=785829&page=106&pp=15)
Tae Ja--I'd need 3 adult sizes, 1 child, with a total of 4. I'm perfectly happy to let you keep the tally, no problem.
My favorite t-shirt design involved the pirate, but I don't know if I should get a vote if I'm not sure I'll be able to do it. :teeth:

I just assumed we'd go with the DIS/Lime green color for the bands. I hadn't been keeping track of numbers, thanks TaeJa for doing that! I am not sure of the turn around time for the shipping of the wrist bands. If you long onto the site, it shows the order date/ship date. I believe it was pretty quick but I could be mistaken. We're not ordering hundreds so it shouldn't be a problem.
:thumbsup2 An added plus to the wrist bands...they can be worn during our entire cruise. It will really help us to identify each other without doubt.
As for goody bags, I wasn't sure if we were doing actual BAGS or if we were just going to pass out our stuff to the kids during dinner on pirate: Pirate night :confused3 (if of course everyone who wants to participate has linked dining.)
As always, I am up for what the majority want to do. :goodvibes

Lisa--the last discussion we had about the goodies had involved meeting in the terminal before the cruise and exchanging then. However, this is a tentative plan and really depends on whether everyone can make it before boarding. Kerry has actually said that she would be bringing the bags that we could put the goodies in.
I've done some poking around the reminderband website, and it appears that we can have two 25 character messages--one would be inscribed opposite the other. If I've got this right, we could easily do something like the three circles plus 9/3/06 Disney Wonder and the second message would be It's Time! It says that the second message is not extra.
The sizes are:
Large (8 3/8 inches), Medium (7 3/8 inches), and Child (5 7/8 inches)
I've been messing around, and I guess I just don't understand how exactly we would do the three circles? Would we submit it as artwork?
Blackunicorn
04-29-2006, 09:37 PM
More messing around on the reminderband website, and I've discovered that you have to have quantities of 20 for *every* kind ordered. So, you can't order 10 medium size and 10 child size of the same bracelet--it has to be 20 of each.
Also messed around with phrases...and I've got this....
oOo 9/3/06 Disney Wonder
It's Time! DISboard Meet
Shipping on 40 bracelets seems to be $8.00, and if ordered today would get here May 12 with standard shipping.

More messing around on the reminderband website, and I've discovered that you have to have quantities of 20 for *every* kind ordered. So, you can't order 10 medium size and 10 child size of the same bracelet--it has to be 20 of each.

Great work Dawn :thumbsup2 That shows you how much time I spent on THAT website  . I actually read about the suggestion for the three circles from someone else here on the DIS. I can't remember who or where but it sounded like they submitted it as artwork...again, not sure on that.
As for the quantity of 20 for each type, I guess we should see exactly HOW interested everyone is in wearing these. I have no problem paying the extra so that we could get the sizes everyone needs but I understand if not everyone wants to do that.
Given the three sizes, I'd think going with the largest and child size would cover most of the size requests. I don't think the largest size would be too big for the average adult, and the child size would probably be fine for most little kids. What does everyone think? Anyone have their heart set on medium? Otherwise that would keep us at two sizes instead of having to order from all three.

I'm here, everyone. Been reading but haven't had time to post (I've got 42 hours between the two jobs and it's finals week so I've been cramming when I can!)
I'm cool with the bracelets and Michael will be in such total amazement at stepping foot out of West Virginia that he'll wear whatever I shove at him.
Count us in :)

I think if we can stick to two sizes (adult lg and child size) that would definatly cut down on wasted bands. I'm all for that idea. Ya, my kids are small, but they can wear them as arm bands or leg bands if they want to. I think it would be great if we could get all of our phrases together. If the second message is not an extra cost, why not, let's go for it. LCTsMom and Blackunicorn you are awesome for doing such great research! :yay:
Ker-Bear, I was thinking about the kids' goodie bags and I hope the bags you get are expandable. They're going to get so much stuff put inside! Honestly all, I can't wait until 9/3/06.
May 3rd is getting closer too! Keep thinking about meets and t-shirts! And while you are at it, and if you have election primaries, don't forget to vote May 2nd as well. :cheer2:

Wow, I just bought Michael's flight and I was so excited and didn't know who to talk to.. and of course, I can come to the DIS!!
It just clicked how close we are. We also got an AWESOME deal! I've been watching flights for a long time, but this is by far the best I have EVER seen..
I looked into flying him to either Jacksonville (Half hour drive from where I'm going to be living) and Orlando.
Found an awesome deal for him to fly Columbus, OH (about a two hour drive from where we live..) to Jacksonville on September 2. We decided, since I'll have a car down there and a FL Resident Season Pass.. that we'd just go to Disney World after the cruise *He's never been!* and drive back to my place that night and him fly home the next morning. Well, I looked at the prices.. and it was amazing! Only $169.20.. but all the flights were really early. So I thought about spending the night at Disney and him flying home the 9th.. and the flights went down to only 159.20!!!!
So Michael is flying for the cruise for only $159.20!!
I thought that was pretty amazing. I'm still in shock, even though I bought the flight and am staring at the confirmation!! :cool1: :cool1: :dancer: :dancer:

Is it too late to link dining? Sounds like the kids would have fun. I KNOW DH would say no if I asked, he's a little on the antisocial side with people he doesn't know. But he doesn't participate in planning so I guess I can make the call......... but if its too late, thats fine too. Between tshirts and wristbands, should be easy to find you guys! And we'll try to show up for any meets we can make. Not so sure we'd be at the terminal in time for one beforehand, coming from Vero beach and might decide that pool and slide is just as fun as an early shot at the Mickey slide so may not rush to board, not sure.

Nope, it's not to late. I can't link dining until everyone is paid in full so that will be the end of June, first of July I think. I have to get my payment in by the end of this month so I can reserve my stuff 6/5. My son is a castaway club member. Hahahahaha :lmao: I get to take advantage!
If you want to link dining, please PM or e-mail me the following info: Your name, stateroom number, number in your party, and whether you want your own table in our area or wish to sit with other DISer's
When it gets closer to sending the info, I may need everyone's confirmation numbers but I will let you know if I do.

I received the following reply from a Disney expert on another site. My question related to what happens if you are staying in WDW (which some of us are) when a hurricane is approaching: :rolleyes2 My mind is always on the weather pirate:
I actually have first-hand experience with this one. Minnie Answer and I rode out Hurricane Charley at the World. You've given me a great opportunity to explain what usually happens at the World during a hurricane.
In the unlikely event that a hurricane is imminent:
First and foremost, WDW resort buildings are built to withstand hurricane-force winds. You will be told to shelter in place at your resort room.
If the parks do not open at all (dependent on what time the hurricane is predicted to hit), you will be instructed to stay in your resort room until the storm has passed. If you have patio furniture, you'll be asked to bring it inside the room. You'll be told to keep the drapes closed and to stay away from windows.
If the parks open for part of the day, you'll be told by phone announcement and written message at your resort what time the parks are expected to close. When the parks close, you'll be instructed to leave immediately in an orderly fashion, and told to return to your room and stay there, as described above, until the storm passes. Transportation will run continuously to the resorts until every guest has cleared every park.
Many guests consider it to be an inconvenience when the parks have to close early, but it is absolutely necessary. The Cast Members are charged with getting all guests to a safe place, and to secure the parks and resorts before the storm. Further, Cast Members must have time to get to their own homes to secure them and to make sure their own families are safe. Safety is always the number one priority.
NOTE: These are just general guidelines for guests. In the event of a real storm, please follow whatever instructions are given, which may change from the above depending on circumstances. WDW Cast is fully trained to handle emergencies, so be sure to listen to their instructions and follow them.
TIP: Be sure to have non-perishable food and water or other bottled beverages in your room. Hurricanes can take several hours to pass, and you should never under any circumstances be out wandering in one. Even when the eye passes over, and there is relative calm outside, do not leave your room. In a very short time, the storm will start again, and you may be caught off-guard.
MYTH BUSTER: Having been in the Magic Kingdom a few hours before Hurricane Charley hit, I can report that at no time did any of Cinderella Castle's turrets leave the castle. They are built to withstand extremely high winds, and are not removable.

Thanks Kerry for making the dining list. I thought about finding simple table decorations, ReallyfunMom would you be interested in picking up maybe 6 table decoration cascades/trees? Oh I'm not the decoration type, really. We didn't have them at my wedding even. (Too practical/functional for my own good, my house is a decorators nightmare, looks more like Chucky Cheese than Good Housekeeping.)
I'd be more into getting something for the kiddos toward goodie bags just notices that some people had signed up for 3 or 4 things and maybe the kids were getting a lot of stuff so if they wanted me to handle eyepatches or pirate necklaces or something, I could do that instead of coming up with an original idea. How about I bring some pirate money, dubloons, for the goodie bags? I didn't see that on the list, maybe I'll think of something else too.

OK, so put me down for dabloons and eyepatches on the goodies list, if thats ok. (I am technically stealing the eyepatch idea so just let me know if you want to keep it and I'll just add some "jewels" or something to the coins.) I'm thinking about these little pouches for the coins.
http://www.deadmentellnotales.com/page/DM/PROD/P/PouchD
I'd probably only put two coins in a pouch, one bigger and one smaller and the kids would have different combos of the 8 coins available. Might seem more authentic and give kids "trading" opportunities.
http://www.deadmentellnotales.com/page/DM/PROD/C/C4s
How many kids do we have going? I'll probably overbuy for late comers and distribute extras to the other kids onboard but a rough cut at the number would be good.

I have no problem with you getting the eyepatches, that's why its in gray below my name (and under other names as well).
Ok, went back and counted 16 so guess its 18 including my two boys if you want to update the goodies post.

LCT, I was reading the most recent poll on pirate wear and some one said on their April cruise the bandanans were now black with a white skull and/or crossbones on it. I knew I should've bookmarked that thread!
I hadn't read about the change in the color of the bandanas. I always see the red ones from the DCL pirate: parties on eBay. I've been tempted but haven't bought one....yet:teeth:.

Hi, new listmembers, I'm in charge of the Cruisin' Goodies list! If you wish to participate, I need you to let me know how many kids would like to participate, and if you have an idea of what you'd like to get, let me know that, too. You can PM me with the info, or post it. On the Cruisin' Goodies list, I've tallied the total number of kids participating, a couple of links to websites for shopping and ideas, and what has been purchased and how many. If there's any other information you'd like to see, let me know!
Also, for everyone--it just so happens that I have a reminderband that I purchased from my daughter's dance school last year. It's a medium. It's tight going over my hand, but a comfortable fit on my wrist. My 7 year old daughter can wear it without having it fall off, but it's a bit loose. There's *no way* my husband can wear it. So I suggest that those of us who have decided to get these, go ahead and print out the sizing page and measure wrists. If you can't print it out, go ahead and measure around your hand where it would be widest while putting on a bracelet. These bands are flexible, but again, there's no way my husband would even be able to get it over his hand. If I get one for him, it would *have* to be the large. To get to the sizing page, click here (http://www.reminderband.com/sizingpage1.doc).

Well, I saw you put that forward, and I think that would work well for my family. But what I'm also saying is that the child bands might not fit older children, and it might be best if we all were sure of the sizes before we order. I know that the child band won't fit my 11 year old son, which is really no surprise since his hands are bigger than mine, but I'm worried that people whose children normally fit child sizes won't fit the child bands, and I'm really worried about people ordering something they think will fit and it doesn't. It's only $2, but I hate to have any part of the vacation be disappointing.

Good point. I am just going to go with the kid size for my little one and large bands for the rest of us. I figured that most bands, even the ones at Disney, are one standard size so unless you have a little one, I'd say under 7ish...go with the large band. If it falls off what can you do, it's really better for the adults to wear them to identifiy each other. It's too bad we can't order them in mixed sizes instead of a minimum of 20. Oh well...

I cut out strips of paper in the various band measurements. The kids band fit exact on my wrist. I have small wrists. The medium was a little loose, the large would fit me like a bangle. It works for me, I like bangles. The kids measurement fit fine for my son but he will be 7 when we cruise. We could move up to the medium size and it fit like a bangle on him and Wendy's DD. That's how the school ones fit and it didn't bother either of them.
Are these bands stretchy like other ones I have seen? They have a little give in them if so. I could wear a kids band if it would stretch enough over my hand but I didn't think it would.

Here are my votes:
11:30am Terminal meet by the tv's
Sail away party Deck 10 meet for those that do not get there early enough for the 1st one.
My thoughts:
Since my party's dining is going to be linked to other DISer's, I know that I will hook up with those that want to participate. I plan on doing the following activities: Martini Tasting, Wine Tasting, Beer Tasting (are you sensing a theme :drinking1 ) In Nassau, there has been debate in my party over the Dolphin Swim :sad2: but that decision will be finalized Memorial Day weekend when we visit my parents in FL :sunny: . If we do not go on the Dolphin Swim we are going to the beach-not sure which one- and anyone is more than welcome to join us. On Castaway Cay Day, I will get a couples cabana massage and then proceed to lay/sit on the beach with a Konk Cooler and enjoy every moment of peaceful serenity-again anyone is welcome to join me. (well not at the massage- that's for me and KP only :lovestruc ) The day at sea- you will find me at a tasting (see earlier part of post) or by the pool. Please feel free to join me.
I'm often unsure as to whether my personality comes across on a message board. I LOVE people  :cloud9: :grouphug: so pretty much, the more the merrier. I have been dreaming of this cruise since 2003. I have one expectation-Have fun and enjoy my son being 7 and actually wanting to do things with me ;) I want all of you to know, If I am going there and you want to come with, please do! :disrocks:
:offtopic: I have learned one lesson in life :::can you see me getting on my soapbox?::: If you surround yourself with happy, positive people, you will probably have happy, positive experiences. Who isn't happy on a Disney Cruise? :confused3

I guess I win in the t-shrit catagory... unless ya'll get to posting which designs you favor. I like #7 and #1. #1 would need minor font modification (the top font should match the lower font).
Kerry, I like the idea of meeting at the terminal BEFORE boarding if we can. I know that will be tough for some of you. I also like trying to meet and celebrate together at the sail away party. It can/could/will be tough b/c of how many bodies there are and just getting to the party on time can be tough.
I really love the idea of us dining together. That will force us to be together provided who has Palo reservations on which night. So, if you haven't linked up with us, I hope you would consider doing so.
(((Kerry, reading about your couples massage at CC reminded me of a thread I read. After the massage, the messuse (sp?) would open the big windows, the messaging subject would get up W/O a towel covering them up and then that see some one else looking into the same window (on purpose or by pur accident) ))).
We, (at the moment) don't have any excursions planned. I look forward to being by the pool relaxing. Maybe we could plan playing in the arcade on one of the nights. I know we'll end up more busy as I'd like to be, but I'm going to do my best to take things easy.
If there are ny typos forgive me./ I',m using my kids keyboard that had juice spilled on it. Blech! The juice is gone, but even with dh's cleaning the keys, they're still sticking. Grrrr.

We're hoping to get to port early too. As for the other plans while on board, we don't have any. Like Dawn G. we haven't done any of this before so I'm not sure what we'll want to do. We're pretty much going to play it by ear and see how it goes. Keep us posted on anything you decide to go and I will print it all up and bring it with me. Our dining is already linked so I'm planning on seeing everyone else who's linked during dinner. We're all so new to this that I didn't want to commit to anything until we figure out what it is we all want to do. I can't believe it's four months from today.

If I could interject a few thoughts from my previous meets. I think there are two basic thought processes. The first is to meet as early as possible,so you can exchange your gifts, get your shirts and stuff distributed, and possibly plan a time or two to spend together. The second is to finally meet the folks in person to whom you have been typing to for over six month. You can finally see the 'lunatic guy who always talks about the weather" :wizard: and exchange some greetings and ideas in person. The second scenario,IMO should be held on day 2 when things have quieted down, and folks are not rushing around so much,or planned for the day at sea. On my previous cruises,we always met right before lunch, about 10:30 on day 2 of the cruise. Logistically, you guys will be eating lunch when I am getting to the pier,as I will be using Disney Bus to get to Port. SO.. after all my rambling, I guess what I am saying is if there is an urgent need to meet earlier between some of us, then you should do it. It's easy enough to set up. We can they have an entire "group gathering on day 2 when things calm down a bit...

Dare I say, it doesn't really matter which shirt design we go with as long as its one I can recognize (I'm a visual person) ??? Does that make sense?
So, after reading Bill's post (I don't think he wants us meeting in his cabin), what do you all think about having a preboard meet, a sail away meet, and then a day 2 meet. There would be three opportunities for us all to hook up if we can't/or wern't/or couldn't make it to the other ones. Is that too much? Kerry and crew what are ya'lls thoughts?
I look forward to your future posts Bill regarding the weather. My eyes will be glued to the weather channel as our cruise gets even closer.

I will not be on the boat at lunchtime on the second day. :thanks:
Let me paraphase the following statement by saying, I know this is going to come across wrong and in no way do I mean anything negative by this:
The majority of the "regulars" to this thread have "linked" their dining. I know I will get to meet those people at dinner the 1st night (unless they go to Palo). Obviously we will see each other on night 3 because that's Pirate night pirate: . With that being said, I'm not all that worried about it. :smooth: Although there are a lot of people on the ship, I would imagine we will see each other at some point and recognize the wrist bands and/or t-shirts.
My hope is that more of you "lurkers" will want to join in the fun when it gets closer and the cruise is paid off party:
I  the thought of meeting all of you and I hope for the best in making that happen.

I feel the same way Ker-Bear. I look forward to meeting everyone here, and even some new (GASP) non-DIS friends. I can't commit to much as we are a large group with some very distinct personalities and opinions (trying my best to be diplomatic here :teeth: :lmao: ) so I don't want to overstep my boundries and say we're doing something that nobody else in my group wants to do. Me, I am ultra social and can't wait to meet everyone and put some faces with the DIS names. Just keep the suggestions coming, I will print up all the final decisions and if we just so happen to be in the same place at the same time (hint hint nod nod wink wink :rolleyes1) , well....that would be awesome!

Ok - I will try to answer all questions
1. I would like 4 adult wristbands, large is fine, - no color preference
2. We also plan to be at port early - have no problem meeting at terminal while waiting to board.
3. Since we are spending the majority of time with relatives who haven't cruised any cruise line ever we prefer to not link our dining. However, you never know if we might end up with the same rotation.
4. We are pondering doing a Palo double dip so not to miss any of the meals. If not, we may book for the 1st night. We also get to book 6/5/06 because of our Castaway Club membership.
5. I love design 7 - for t-shirts. Do you think we could add September 2006 to the design? Did I miss the cost of these in an earlier discussion? Is there anyway we could fit that design on a size 18 month or 2T onesie or shirt?
6. We'll have to pass on the goody bags since Lucas is too little.
7. When we cruised the Magic two years ago, I recall someone saying it was either the 1st pirate party or one of the first. I attached a photo of my bandana. Is this the red one everyone is refering to?

Is there anyway we could fit that design on a size 18 month or 2T onesie or shirt? When you get ready to set the size of your image, make it about 4x6 or 6x8 that should be small enough for your little one. ;)
6. We'll have to pass on the goody bags since Lucas is too little. don't want him choking. I wonder if there's a pirate pacifier out there???
7. When we cruised the Magic two years ago, I recall someone saying it was either the 1st pirate party or one of the first. I attached a photo of my bandana. Is this the red one everyone is refering to?

Well, Lucas is welcome to one of the pirate hacky sacks, I think they're pretty safe. You are welcome to whatever we are handing out, you can hang on to the stuff that's not age approrpriate, for the future. It's up to you. Dylan will just have turned two so I know most of the stuff will be above him as well.
Will Lucas be in Flounder's at all? I think Tammy is planning on taking Dylan, if he enjoys it.

I'm loving my new camera. I bought the Canon SD550. I am debating on getting the waterproof housing for it.
I learned here on the DIS that the memory has a lot to do with the speed of the camera. Make sure you look into ultra fast memory. It seems to really make a difference.

Lucas will be in Flounders every available second that Disney Cruise line allows us to place him there :)
I love him dearly but we'd love to do many things without him if you know what I mean. He is used to that type of setting because he goes in the church nursery 1 to 2 times per week so I don't expect many- if any- objections.
We may just take you up on the goody bag offer. Umm, need to think of something to contribute then don't I?

Vicki- can we get Sept 06 in the picture? I remember back last year when we discussed this.
I tried to shrink my picture or convert it from jpeg with no luck. Course I stink at anything related to computers :badpc:
You should be able to. I think if you save it and edit it in paint or another photo editing.

I have a Canon powershot A520 and love it. I also bought the waterproof housing to help protect it on Castaway Cay.
Hubby has to camera-Canon Powershot A40 which ia a great camera! He has the waterproof housing for it and since he bought a new camera, he's going to use this one when he goes Scuba diving. His other one is a Canon S2IS-it has a better zoom than the other 2.

I know what you mean about Flounders. I think that Tammy is hoping that Dylan will enjoy it, too. He's quite verbal, he'll have the place in stitches. Never a dull moment with him around, that's for sure. He's like a 10 year old in a (not so) little guy's body. :rotfl2:

Went to dd's first softball game today and got very frustrated w/ our older model dig. camera. I kept hearing myself say, I need a faster camera and a longer zoom range! I was about to chuck our camera out on to the field!
So, are there any more camera or website suggestions? I know there were links posted Waayyyy back, but if you would be so kind, could you repost them or share what sites you have found for camera hunting. I want really good zoom, fast speed, lightweight if possible, and multiple lighting possibilites.
Thanks all!

"Owned" by the Fairy Godmother and "operated" by Fairy Godmothers-in-Training, the new Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique offers a menu of salon services designed to pamper princesses ages three and up. Package options and prices include:
Coach Package: Includes hair style and shimmering makeup -- $35 plus tax.
Crown Package: Includes hair style, shimmering makeup and nails -- $45 plus tax.
Castle Package: Includes the Crown Package plus an imaging package (one 6x8-inch photo and four 4x6-inch photos in a Princess-themed photo holder). Also includes a complete child-size costume with accessories -- starting at $175 plus tax.
Each package comes with a sash, and there are three different hair style options from which to choose: the Fairytale Princess, the Disney Diva and the Pop Princess.
Hours of operation for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will be 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. daily (last appointment will be at 5:30 p.m.), seven days a week. Walk-ins are accepted; however, reservations are strongly encouraged by calling 407/WDW-STYLE (939-7895).
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is part of the store's new Princess Room. Resembling a great hall from castle lore, the room is dedicated to the classic fairy tale stories of Disney Princesses, Princes and their castles. Other features include an Audio-Animatronics princess who sings to guests, and interactive stations where little girls can create their own tiaras and wands, fill jewelry boxes and purchase princess make-up kits.
For more information, call Downtown Disney Guest Information at 407/WDW-2NITE (939-2648) or visit disneyworld.com.

We are having dinner at 1900 Park Fare later that evening so she'll be looking like a true princess. There is a NOAA Buoy off the coast of Cape Canaveral near the Bahamas. This link will take you to it. You can get real time information on water temps/air temps/ and wave heights It will give you a good idea of what it will feel like out at sea when we leave.
http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=41009
The average water temperature for Bahamas in August/Sept is 83 degrees. The current Buoy reading is 77 degrees, so it should be getting warmer in the next few months.

I believe that is what my TA said but I could be wrong. I had some cash come my way and figured I would send it off before I spent it somewhere else. That was my impression. Call your TA and check with them. I already talked to mine today and I am only allowed to call him once a day and ask questions. just kidding :teeth: I am pretty sure though that's what he told me. When I called to confirm the address today and what I needed to write on the check he didn't say "why are you paying in advance" I told him I wanted to get my payment in so that it could reach DCL by 6/5 so I could make my ressies and he didn't correct me. He gave me the address and told me the taxes had gone up and I had a new amount. It was like $1 more.
I in no way shape or form claim to be knowledgeable. It was just my memory serving me and I promise you, at times it doesn't serve me well :rotfl:

You are correct. You have to pay in full before making any reservations. My little kit that came a few weeks ago states reservations can be made 6/5 "if your final payment has been made."
I am waiting to do that until myself until I get back from a mini trip my DS and I are taking this week to Grandma's house.

I know we are all waiting impatiently to get ON the ship.but I have a question about getting off...
We were planning on getting up about 7:00am and going to breakfast at 7:30
and meeting our driver at 9:00am. I received an email from DCl (below)that states I may be "assigned"a breakfast time which could be as early as 6:30am...
Is there any flexibilty here ie I show up at 7:30 am to eat, would I be refused??
All Guests must clear out of their stateroom prior to 8:00 AM on debarkation day, so that the ship can be cleared in a timely manner. All Guests must disembark the ship by 9:00 AM.
As far as breakfast that morning, the restaurant you dined in the night before will be the location for your morning meal. Since you are on the Main dining, you will be scheduled for breakfast at either 6:30am, 6:45am, or 7:00am. Your servers will let you know at dinner what time you are assigned for breakfast.

Okay this is completely random but somehow, someone got ahold of all my passwords.. well, not all of them.. but a vast majority.. and has changed them
I can no longer get into my email account, my instant messenger, my myspace... none of them.
Ironically, this happened after I got into an argument with a computer-savvy friend over a password of his that someone stole two years ago. He still blames me, so I figure it was him...
Anyone know if there is anything I can do?

Wendy and her DD have decided to not cruise in September. Apparently DD has developed a severe fear of mascots/characters. They went to one of our local theme parks recently and she saw the Scooby Doo character. She had a complete meltdown, screaming in fear. :confused3
Wendy has decided that it wouldn't be fair to put her in a position to be exposed like that nor would it be fair to fellow cruisers.
I wish I could say I wasn't disappointed but that would be a lie.
Can you please remove them from the cruising lists as well as the goodies bag?
:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: to you and your friend. I'm sure Wendy is a little disappointed too. I'm heartbroken that she can't go...now any way. Maybe, Wendy's dd will want to cruise w/you in the future! :wizard:

First, set up a new email account somewhere, like gmail, hotmail or yahoo. Then maybe you could contact the websites via telephone and explain the situation. They'd probably email you new password info to your new account. I would assume most places have a customer service phone number that you could reach them at. It's worth a try. Good luck!

Piecey, I'm so sorry this happened to you. :furious: What a great big jerk. My best advice is to contact the websites and speak to a customer service rep. I'd start with my e-mail, because that's where all of the passwords are going to be sent if you request them.
I'm sorry if I'm being dense, but do we have the link to the website for the t-shirts somewhere? I'm trying to figure it out, and I can't find the info. Now that we have a brand new printer, I guess we'll be able to make color t-shirts after all.

Oh man.. I thought I had gotten locked out of the DISBOARDS!!
I reset my internet browser-- so that it doesn't save any of my passwords anymore and then I realized it's been so long, I didn't know my DIS password!!
So, of course, when I requested it-- it wanted to send it to the e-mail I can no longer get in. Oy, what a mess. Luckily I played around and tried to remember and finally figured it out..
A little upsetting because I changed the e-mail I have listed for the DIS away from that one before I reset my browser.. but it still had it saved.

Kerry,
That's so funny that we posted on the same thread about servers. I replied to you and the thread. I hope DISers won't think we'll be server hogs when it comes time for us to cruise. I've also hogged the top ten threads on the cruise reports forum. I asked those who cruised the Wonder, "Who were your servers and did you like them". LOL :lmao:
RE: the spa
:teleport: I can't relax enough to be in there, very sad. I've heard/read that the rainforest is pretty neat. I've heard good bad things about the capsule. Personally, the whole time I was getting my massage I was thinking about what I could've been doing on the ship. My dh enjoyed the quick massage they offered on deck. He said that short massage was well worth the discounted price they were offering.
ETA: I'm writing down the names of servers from the favorite server thread (the most recent one) then I went over to the cruise report forum and asked who were your servers and did you like them. We still haven't had dinner (its past 7pm!). So, after I eat and watch the Pacifier, I'll type in all the great servers accumulated thus far.
O.k., here's the list thus far-
Gabor from Hungary and Ivan from Croatia- recommended by MommyX4GrandmaX4
Egi and Ah Lee -recomm. by Rena75
Jeanette and Carlos recomm. by we6clarks
Danesh- recomm. by Yfamily
Pandy and Ramsay- we4blairs
Eric from Thailand and Galina from Bulgaria -2005 recomm by poconoboatniks
I'll keep adding names of servers to this list as I find them.

SUMMARY
NOAA’s 2006 Atlantic hurricane season outlook indicates an 80% chance of an above-normal hurricane season, a 15% chance of a near-normal season, and only a 5% chance of a below-normal season. This outlook is produced by scientists at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Climate Prediction Center (CPC), National Hurricane Center (NHC), and Hurricane Research Division (HRD). See NOAA’s definitions of above-, near-, and below-normal seasons.
The outlook calls for a very active 2006 season, with 13-16 named storms, 8-10 hurricanes, and 4-6 major hurricanes. The likely range of the ACE index is 135%-205% of the median. This prediction indicates a continuation of above-normal activity that began in 1995. However, we do not currently expect a repeat of last year’s record season.
DISCUSSION
Expected Activity - 80% chance above normal, 15% chance near normal, 5% chance below normal.
The vast majority of named storms and hurricanes are expected to form during August-October over the tropical Atlantic Ocean, which is typical for above-normal seasons. These systems generally track westward toward the Caribbean Sea and/or United States as they strengthen. Historically, very active seasons have averaged 2-4 landfalling hurricanes in the continental United States and 2-3 hurricanes in the region around the Caribbean Sea. However, it is currently not possible to confidently predict at these extended ranges the number or intensity of landfalling hurricanes, and whether or not a given locality will be impacted by a hurricane this season.
4. Uncertainties in the Outlook
The main uncertainty in this outlook is not whether the season will be above normal, but how much above normal it will be. The 2006 season could become the fourth hyperactive season in a row. Another uncertainty is related to forecasting some of the specific circulation features known to produce exceptionally active seasons. High activity during the last three seasons resulted partly from an amplified upper-level ridge and lower wind shear over the western subtropical North Atlantic and eastern United States (Bell et al. 2004, 2005, 2006). In the event these conditions again develop, which cannot be predicted with confidence at this time, the 2006 seasonal ACE value could even exceed the high end of our predicted range. However, we do not currently expect a repeat of last year’s record season.
NOAA scientists will closely monitor the evolving climate conditions. NOAA’s updated Atlantic hurricane outlook will be issued in early August, which begins the peak months (August-October) of the hurricane season.
CAUTIONARY NOTES
1) It is currently not possible to confidently predict at these extended ranges the number or intensity of landfalling hurricanes, or whether a particular locality will be impacted by a hurricane this season. Therefore, residents and government agencies of coastal and near-coastal regions should always maintain hurricane preparedness efforts regardless of the overall seasonal outlook.

ETA: Well DH and I celebrated our 12th year anniversary yesterday with the kids. It was so cute, they got so excited that we were going to have a "party" so they dressed up. After we ate I suggested, let's walk around Gerdt (furniture store) to walk off dinner. We walked out with a recipt for a couch, chair, and ottaman! I walked out shaking my head, that was a stupid idea! Long story short, we've needed a new couch any way since one of the legs broke off the day we put the couch in the house and my parents gave us $$ for christmas towards a couch. We just knew we had to find something BEFORE they came back to visit. I'll take a picture of the set after its delivered on Sat.. I'm looking forward to sitting on my new (new to me) couch! Ahhh.

Hi guys, did I miss anything recently (only read the last 3 pages to catch up)?
Whats the thought process on Palos? I was originally going to shoot for the same night as Pirate Party...... take kids to dinner for party but only eat an appet if anything, then drop kits at kids club, onto Palos, then pick up kids and go to party afterwards. I then changed my mind (for some reason I don't remember -- wish I did b/c it seems like a decent plan now) to try for Palos second night or last night. Any thoughts?

We will do Palo's on the second night and skip dinner in the restaurant. I believe the repeater nights in the restaurants are now the 2nd and 3rd night. I didn't want to miss any of the shows on nights 2-4 so that's why we will skip the restaurant.

:rotfl: Any way that you can drown out household chaos is a good thing. Seriously though, I hope you're feeling better quickly! Illness and being a mom are not compatible!

What a co-wink-e-dink! We went to the ER too yesterday. DD fell off a traveling bar at school. We got home and she tried getting on our bed. She started screaming and crying. Well, her left arm isn't fractured or broken thank god just sprained.
find a happy place, find a happy place......

How cute! I was beginning to wonder where you were....I was wondering how I could report you as missing through the DIS.
BTW, BlackUnicorn and others, where are you???
It's Renaissance Festival season in our house. I'm going nuts getting costumes ready! Also, in my spare time I'm in the yard trying desperately to regrow my lawn. We've had a drought for years, so there isn't much left.
Kerry, I'm not picky about where we eat on what night.
Vicki, hope you feel better soon! What a time of year to be sick.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh... I'm back!
The jerk finally called me and said if I brought some stuff over to him, he'd give me all my accounts back.
I've got my email..everything! And he read your e-mail Taeja..grr..
So I was trying to keep up on everything but I guess I got confuesd on the dining thing. How many people are linking? I didn't realize that we had set times to eat, Michael and I just requested the early seating. That way we can get some room service later!
Did we decide to do PC on Pirate Night?
I'll be in Florida..for good... next Friday, if all goes smoothly.
I just had to replace the motor mounts on my car ( had to get a third credit card to cover it, as I've only been working one job so I had time to pack and everything.. gotta love the way things break down when you're strapped for $$)
Have a happy Sunday, everyone..

we have about 7 parties linking their dining. I hope to add more as people get paid in full.
I will be requesting PC for Pirate night as the first choice and then 6pm seating as the second choice.
Florida has been beautiful. Reaching a golden tan here is easy! Only 3 months....
1 week from today we can make our spa and palo ressies!
