Hey guys! Thats awesome about the pants Vicki!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 :cheer2: :dance3: :yay:
I got a Wii tonight! I got bored at work (:rolleyes1 ) so I made a "Wii list" of everyone in town who sold them and called them one by one in between customers :ssst: and finally found a store that had one. I sweet-talked the guy on the phone into holding it for me until I got off of work. :cool2: ...
Even got three games-- with Toys R Us buy 2 get 1 free sale woohoo!
Any of you have a Wii or played one yet? Addicting!
Tom and I played for like four hours tonight!! (been together almost two months-- it's a Patsy record! :lovestruc )
I hope everyone is doing good!!
What are all the kids going to be for Halloween?? :upsidedow

I LOVE the Wii! I love the bowling on Wii Sports. We also have Super Swing Golf, which is really really fun (even if you don't like golf, like me). You HAVE to get Rayman's Raving Rabbids of you don't already have it, or at least rent it from Blockbuster. BWWAAAAAAHHHHH! (My rabbid impression). :happytv:
Between the Wii and the XBox 360, we are the nerdiest couple on the block.

No.. and I'm kinda flipping out.
They were in this canvas bag I bought at Disneyland-- with a CD, a pack of my business cards and a McDonalds bag.
I remember putting the bag in the car on Saturday after work. I know it was there Sunday afternoon because I listened to the CD when I went to the grocery store. Sunday night I noticed it wasn't there. I assumed I brought it in my house when I couldn't find them yesterday, but I can't find the bag anywhere.
LCTsMom
10-23-2007, 10:56 AM
Was the car locked? Anything else of value missing or moved around? Maybe you moved the bag and you can't remember it. :confused3 Keep us posted!
Piecey
10-23-2007, 11:31 AM
The car was locked, I think. I don't have automatic locks and sometimes I don't remember to check if whoever was in my car locked their door when they get out, but it's been awhile since someone has been in there. I remember unlocking the passenger door to get something out of my glove compartment on Sunday night and noticing the bag wasn't there.
My windows were half down, though. I live across the street from an Elementary School but school hasn't been in session since the bag went missing. Teenagers come play basketball there a lot-- and I remember some being there Saturday.
I don't know. I called my boss and told her I know the bag was in my car, now it's not. She thinks I have to file a police report in case anyone who took the bag knows what my keys were to. She's going to call security and let me know. I don't know. I'm really flipping out here.
ETA: I guess I don't know for sure that the bag was there on Sunday-- the CD I listened to is IN my CD player soo..

so sorry about your stolen bag. It's never easy is it??:sad2: My guess would be that kids stole your bag and were looking for money or electronics and probably just chucked the rest of the bag. I'm sure they are not smart enough to realize that there was anything else they could use from the bag. It was smart to report the bag stolen and thank goodness the bank understands it was not your fault. Good luck. Hey just out of curiosity did you check any of the garbage cans in the park near you? You said there was a basketball court or something right?:confused3

I live across the street from one of the city elementary schools. I checked with the school, they havent found or had anything turned in.
I've pretty much given up. The bank re-issued me keys, didn't even write me up. Pretty amazing, I was suuuuure I was going to be fired. :confused:
I'm pretty okay with it now. Bummed my bag from Disneyland is gone, and my DCL Keychain (we were allowed one keychain on our work keys and that was mine since I started at the bank the day I got home from the cruise with you guys) but other than that, i'm okay with it.

Oh well, Christmas money!!!!!!!!!!!
do you get paid for milage?
Lisa, I hope you are feeling better so you can deal with the kids being off later this week. :wizard:

I loved Phoenix, too! The airport was GORGEOUS and we loved walking around.. you'd go down a different terminal and see a whole other set of mountains. Flying out there is so crazy-- you go from flaaaat to poof! mountains.. back to flat.. etc.

Happy Halloween!! I made it back from work in just enough time to give ONE kid some candy :sad1: (And only her because it was my co-workers daughter and she brought her over).. so she got all the halloween candy I bought and promised me she'd share with her sister who couldn't go!

What would that mean to your life?
Is it another bank to work in and commute to in addition to the ones you work in now?
Or all your hours would be at one place in another city and you have to relocate?
Or something else?
Did the missing item (not the keys) every cause trouble?

Jan :earsgirl:
No, thank goodness! The missing item was my paper with my pin code to disable alarms where I used to work (where I worked before the transfer in August) When I called the manager there she'd already deactivated my code a few weeks ago, so it'd be useless to anyone who found it.
Tom Tom bought me DDR for my Wii-- phew, this game is hard! I feel like a total idiot 'cause I'm just not that coordinated.
I really wish the instruction book gave you more information, too. It keeps grading me (and insulting me!) and I don't even know how bad the grade is!!
Anyone here DDR often enough to give me a clue? :rolleyes1

Apparently the DM (who is making this order) is saying there isn't enough demand at the location I'm currently based out of. Which is crazy to me because I filled a vacant spot when someone quit a few months ago but I'd been working there on top of hours at the branch I was stationed out of for months-- WITH that other teller there, too!
I don't really know what is going on now. I called the DM when I calmed down and said "It's my understanding that I accept another transfer or not have a job, is that right?" and he got kinda upset that I put it so "bluntly".. I told him that that was my understanding of the situation, that I was pretty sure I would NOT be accepting another transfer and if that meant I wouldn't have a job I would need to know that ASAP because I have tuition due in January that I'll need to find another way to pay.
He told me he never thought I'd decline the transfer and he'd "see what he could do" because he didn't want to lose me and that he really appreciated the phone call.
I doubt anything will come of my phone call, but I wanted to hear from him that was the situation. Even if he comes up with a "solution" they're not going to let me stay where I am and I'm getting pretty irritated with being treated the way I am. I do not earn extra benefits on all the overtime I'm working, I do not get paid mileage and I'm feeling very abused!
It might be time to say good riddance! :sad2:

PS: There is no such thing as a traditional Thanksgiving celebration. Every family celebrates differently and the pictures that sell cards make us all feel like we are doing it wrong. We do not need that guilt.
The other day DH said he would like to sleep until he wakes up. Let me sleep until I wake up. I can start the turkey whenever I feel like it. We will watch the Macy's parade if we don't sleep through it. We will watch some football and maybe some Disney movies--CARS and MEET THE ROBINESONS are at the top of the list. We will eat whenever the turkey is done. We will not get dressed unless our friend feels good enough after his surgery to come over or we decide to take him a meal. The kids are in PA and we are in IN.

I was pretty surprised when I got it last year, and to learn it was a yearly thing. I also won some employee competition thing-- out of the 20,000+ employees 276 won something and I did, got a $25 Gift Card. Weird, weird company I work for. :confused3
Tom's parent's live in a different county, here in WV. It's not far but so far I've successfully avoided meeting them. He generally goes over on Saturdays while I'm at work becase I'm petrified of meeting them. :eek: My avoidance is beginning to make him very frustrated so I may have to suck it up and go for Thanksgiving. :headache:
I still live by myself :) I love it. Here's a pic of the room I'm in right now (My new favorite-- and the cleanest of them all:
http://farr.pihost.us/piecey/frontroom
When I moved in this room was piled, piled, piled with boxes and clothes my Uncle had stuck in here. It took me six months but I finally got through it all and now I think it's pretty!!!
I agree-- tradition with everything is pretty much open to interpretation anymore. No one does anything "traditionally"...

Why are you afraid of meeting Tom's parents?
The room looks great! Is it an apartment? How long have you lived there? Somehow I thought you lived at home with your parents.
Are you taking classes this semester?

I just don't think they'll like me and I know I'll be all nervous and stuff.
I live in my Grandmother's empty house. She's unable to live on her own but didn't want to sell the house-- so instead of her losing money (monthly bills) because she lives with my Uncle, we all agreed for me to move-in and cover everything. I don't pay rent, but I pay all utilities and general upkeep.
I've lived here since March :)
And yeah.. I started out full-time but ended up dropping back down to part-time because I was going everywhere over the sun with work :)
How is everyone else?? :)
When does Heidi get back? I wanna see more Australia pictures! :cool1:

You are sweet, charming, adorable and a hard worker. You get along well with all of us on the Thread and on the ship. You get along with your customers and all the clients you have had at your varying jobs.
You will get along with Tom's family too.
If this relationship is going somewhere long term--you will be spending a lot of time with them and getting off to a good start now is a good idea. Your friendship with them can grow as your relationship also grows.
You will be going for a visit, a holiday, a table loaded with food and lots of people to talk to. You will do fine!
ENJOY THE HOLIDAY!

He keeps telling me the same thing. He's really frustrated with me, but working as much as I have been (Until 6:15PM, with work a half hour from where I live, and then they live an hour from my house the other direction) He's been somewhat tolerant with my excuses.
I know I need to suck it up but I think it's hard because I've got so many issues with my parents, why would I wanna meet anyone elses?? :eek:

THAT is probably the problem.
Not all parents are alike. Some of us are wonderful, some are horrid and most of us fall somewhere in the middle.
Ask Tom ahead of time about his parents. What are their interests, what are they like, whatever you can get out of him. Then if the conversation lags, you can ask some leading questions and get them talking.
BEST WISHES!!

That is SO cute!!!
...I've got overtime again this week. I worked in three branches today alone. My ONLY break was the 1/2 hour between the first two and a ten minute walk from the second to the third. 8-6:15 with a 40 minute break, all of which was spent traveling.
This is ridiculous, don't you think? I'm pretty sure it's gotta be illegal, too.:headache:
Also, after three hours this morning at the office I'm supposed to transfer to next month I wanted to break down into tears or scream bloody murder at the top of my lungs. After only three hours.
After much thought, many tears and a lot of heartache I typed my resgination letter up a half hour ago and will probably give it out tomorrow. I love the company and the benefits, it's an amazing job for the position that I'm at in my life.. but I think it's a healthier decision to keep myself happy and persue school more actively next semester instead of working in a location that will have me stressed to tears and miserable all the time. I haven't not had a job since I was 16!!

Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving
Journal Entry: November 22, 2006 (age 37) written by someone else
Why does Christmas get to have all the good poems? Here’s one I just dreamed up:
‘Twas the night before Thanksgiving, and all through the fridge,
Not a dish had been tasted, not even the rum porridge made by Aunt Midge;
The stuffing had been stuffed in the turkey with care,
In hopes of filling the loneliness the bird felt in there;
We, the owners of the fridge, were nestled in our Craftmatics,
While restive, hungry rodents danced in our attic;
When out in the kitchen there arose such a clatter,
I shoved my wife out there, to see what was the matter;
When what to her bleary eyes should appear,
But a surprised and plump man, drinking my beer;
I followed behind, in time for introductions,
And spied the strange man in the midst of larder reductions;
“I’m the spirit of Thanksgiving and the name’s Turkey Tom,
Have you got any more mashed taters – you must be Mom?”;
Before we could speak, he invited in his motorcycle club,
Eight enormous fat men in leather, all looking for grub;
They ransacked the room in search of more board,
Until Tom called the spirits by name (by then he’d grown bored);
“On Oliver Hardy, on President Taft, on Henry the Eighth!
On Big Bopper and Elvis, and the chubby cousin of John Kenneth Galbraith!”
(He didn’t even mention the Guinness Book motorcycle twins -
They had already gone next door, in search of loaded potato skins);
Tom shooed the other six from our kitchen, and right out the front hall,
Shouting “Wobble away, wobble away, wobble away all!”
My wife and I looked at each other with shock and dismay,
As we imagined all the hungry relatives who were headed our way;
Our Thanksgiving looked ruined, our cupboards bare frames,
But Tom said, “When no one has indigestion, you’ll be glad we came.”
And with that, he not quite hopped onto his Harley,
And shared with us words shaped by hops and barley;
“Happy Thanksgiving to all, including thee and thee,
and may you (burp) – oh, excuse me!”

Looks like we will be getting dressed after all--casual though. One of DH's staff had surgery last week. He is single so often takes holidays to go scuba diving. Not this time. He will come at 1 pm and we will eat whenever the turkey is done--my kind of timing--no deadline!

copied from our Panama Canal Cruise thread so I cannot vouch for how interesting it is, but in case you are interested:
"A link here fot Santa Claus webcams.
http://www.santaclauslive.com/main.p...ieli=eng&pid=2
Now at the moment they are doing work there but the place 're-opens' tomorrow 24th. You can usually watch Santa receiving visitors but that cam is not working at the moment - probably will again after tomorrow. The outside camera is cool too. The tree has just gone up and they are building the snowmen at the moment. In December they run them 'live' rather than just the live pics.
Not as easy for you all over there to watch with timing etc, but something Christmassy anyway."

I'm so much happier now to be going to Orlando, not worrying and just having a nice relaxing trip to look forward to before I have to come back and do the student thing. Since I'm unemployed I decided I'd be mega-student, and I have 18 credit hours next semester! :banana:

Safe and sound at home.:goodvibes And jetlagging!:eek: It took me EIGHT HOURS to fall asleep last night!!:scared1: I will get pictures up as soon as I am able to transfer them over from the laptop to my computer.:goodvibes
Erica - I just saw an ad on myspace for Rock Band. It looks cool. Holly, Hayley, and I love playing guitar hero.:goodvibes
Welcome back! And if you guys like Guitar Hero, you would LOVE Rock Band. I love the drums, but the guys usually make me sing. I'm the only one who can remotely carry a tune :rotfl:

Amanda does the singing here! It is a really fun game!! I cant do the drums and the foot pedal, I get real confused. Tim does the guitar and my pedal! Poor baby has to do the guitar on the HARD level if he does the foot!!:rotfl:

I have a feeling I'll be playing a lot of Guitar Hero while I'm in FL. All they have is a 360.. and as much as I'd love to have my Wii, I don't think it'd be very safe to take it down. :sad1:

Vicky, I'm the same way with the drums. I can do the "drum" part on medium, but throw in the foot pedal and I'm just hitting it randomly and my track starts glowing red :rotfl:
Last weekend we had to ban one of our friends from singing, because he was THAT BAD. I mean, I'm not going to win American Idol or anything, especially when it's a song I don't even know (which is painful), but at least I can find a pitch! He was singing completely monotone, and he kept asking to try again. We were all like NOOOOO! :rotfl:
Patsy, have you tried Mario Universe yet? We got it this week on gamefly (which, if you don't have it, is awesome.....like Netflix for games) and it really is a ton of fun. I also love Rayman's Raving Rabbids.
I'm SUCH a nerd. :sad2:

Hi Gang.
Vicki, awesome about your GF room! Take lots of pix!
Patsy, I see purple & green on your tags (& pink for your location). Did they change it?!? Either way, congrats!
I am in "mourning". My "new" (8 month old) camera stopped working today. I have to send it to Canon tomorrow for repairs. I feel like I'm shipping a kid off to the hospital! ;) :headache: :eek: :sad1: :scared: I am so bummed!
