My SIL should be close if not at LAX by now. Her and my two nieces have been here for six days. Now that the weather has cooled off (I've got my windows open!) she's gone. It's been sooooo hot here- in the 90's w/ humidity. We went to a water park two days ago and that was a lot of fun. Ever hear of Holiday World? Here's a link that shows you a little bit of what Holiday World has to offer. I esp. loved the free drinks and free sunscreen b/c we needed it over and over. http://www.holidayworld.com/ss.html

So, for now, I'm in recovery mode and am enjoying the cooler weather. I've enjoyed all the WL pics btw.

Take care all! :wave2:

When were the locked sail dates supposed to be unlocked again?

Vicki- Off topic question, how do you clean your labs ears?

When were the locked sail dates supposed to be unlocked again?

Vicki- Off topic question, how do you clean your labs ears?

Not sure on the first question..
We use Chubs or doggie wipes, but I did buy some ear cleaner at Petsmart but the wipes work.

We use Chubs.

Chubs baby wipes? I'm trying to avoid towing three kids to the pet store. I'll never make it out.

Yep! :flower:

I use baby wipes for every thing. My DH used them to clean the inside doors of his car and he was just so impressed about what a baby wipe can do. I dind't want to get too excited about the baby wipe issue until I got your reply. So,   ! I'll be working on the dog's ears today.

Sure wish our family could travel again. I'm thinking about how long it is until Christmas time. It feels like forever until we travel again. Sure wish I was sailing on the Wonder w/ my kids right now. :cloud9:

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. The past two days at work have been crazy. I start my new job Tuesday and I have put a lot of overtime in to get things wrapped up. I am on my way to happyhour with a gang from work :drinking1 I should have several!!!

Vicki- thanks for the pictures. It is definitely looking like WL for us. My DS doesn't know any better so that works out good for me

Well, what do you think about a t-shirt with "It's Time!" on it? I think it's a great idea. Let me know. We have some screen printers in the area and I could check on it once I get settled into my new gig. Hope you have a great Friday night. I should be in my pj's by 8:30 and asleep on the couch by 8:45pm :faint:

Been thinking about the :goodvibes "It's Time" :goodvibes t-shirt idea. I'm thinking we should wait for more DISers to post and sign in so that they can be included. Kerry that doesn't mean we can't continue to look for places to have the t-shirt screens made and printed. I know Andy aka Verandah Man is sailing in 8/06 and I believe their group are having t-shirts made as well. I think if you find one of his posts you'll find a link to cruise wear or is it cruise merchandise. I don't know if there is any pricing, but maybe you could find out what co. he's going through and get some pricing.

Again, I'm not against having t-shirts made, but I think we should expand our input group more.

Have a great weekend all! I'm supposed to be doing something, but I haven't figured out what that something is.... :scratchin

Vicki- That Zazzle site is really neat. It even tells you how much the shirt would cost as you go. I didn't have too much time to play with the site, but I didn't see where you can put your own phrasing on the shirt. I love the graphis. Were there any other characters?

**Wow, I just poked around a little more and look at all the characters! C'mon 9/3/06'ers, please start posting so we can keep planning! Be sure to check out the www.Zazzle.com site. I'm thinking a shirt for our group and shirts just for fun! :teeth:

I liked them all but my favorite was the very first link. We could do them in lime. I read the decription and it says you can put your slogan or really anything you want on the front or the back. Plus, if we used that site, everyone could order their own and no one would have to get involved with coordinating it.

Come on cruiser's- Sept 06 is a great time to sail!!!! :jumping1:

I guess we will wait until more people get on our thread. Although I think as the "originals" we should have a cut off date. Remember the person who posted with the number log name, I think it was 26555 or something like that. Her's is a surprise for her family. That would be a cool way to tell them. Wrap the shirts and give them as gifts! We could put "it's time" under the character we pick and then on the back, "Disney Wonder September 3-7, 2006"

Anyway, I guees we have some time before we do the t-shirt thing. I figure by May 06 we should pick it out. Nothing on the site seems too outrageous.

The weather is rainy and humid but at least it is not as hot. I will post later!

purplern
07-31-2005, 08:15 PM
Did a little research-The only way we can get what we want written on the shirt is to upload our own picture and design, we can pick the color of the shirt and write It's time or get the lime green shirt with Mickey and no saying and them get iron on letters and put its time on it.

Click the link below to hear the muic and then read the little story below.
http://upchucky.com/requests-those-were-the-days.mid

My Mom used to cut chicken, chop eggs, and spread mayo
on the same cutting board with the same knife,
and no bleach, but we didn't seem to get food poisoning.

My Mom used to defrost hamburger on the counter
AND I used to eat it raw sometimes too, our school sandwiches
were wrapped in wax paper in a brown paper bag.
not in ice pack coolers, but I can't remember getting e-coli?

Almost all of us would have rather gone swimming in the lake instead of a pristine pool
(talk about boring), no beach closures then.

The term cell phone would have conjured up a phone in a jail cell,
and a pager was the school PA system.

We all took gym, not PE... and risked permanent injury with a pair of high top Ked's
(only worn in gym) instead of having cross-training athletic shoes
with air cushion soles and built in light reflectors.
I can't recall any injuries but they must have happened because
they tell us how much safer we are now.

Flunking gym was not an option... even for stupid kids!
I guess PE must be much harder than gym. :rotfl2:

Speaking of school, we all said prayers and sang the national anthem
and staying in detention after school caught all sorts of negative attention.
We must have had horribly damaged psyches.

What an archaic health system we had then.
Remember school nurses?
Ours wore a hat and everything. :flower:

I thought that I was supposed to accomplish something
before I was allowed to be proud of myself.

I just can't recall how bored we were without computers,
Play Station, Nintendo, X-box or 270 digital TV cable stations. :confused3

Oh yeah.. and where was the Benadryl and sterilization kit when
I got that bee sting? I could have been killed!

We played king of the hill on piles of gravel left on vacant construction sites
and when we got hur t, Mom pulled out the 48 cent bottle of Mercurochrome
(kids liked it better because it didn't sting like iodine did)
and then we got our behind spanked.

NOW it's a trip to the emergency room,
followed by a 10-day dose of a $49 bottle of antibiotics and then
Mom calls the Attorney to sue the contractor for leaving
a horribly vicious pile of gravel where it was such a threat.

We didn't act up at the neighbor's house either because if we did,
we got our behind spanked there (physical abuse)
and then we got our behind spanked again when we got home. :sad2:

I recall the kid from next door coming over and doing his tricks on the front stoop
just before he fell off. Little did his Mom know that she could have owned our house.
Instead she picked him up and swatted him for being such a goof.
It was a neighborhood run amuck. :jumping1:

To top it off, not a single person I knew had ever been told
that they were from a dysfunctional family.
How could we possibly have known that?
We needed to get into group therapy and anger management classes?

We were obviously so duped by so many societal ills,
that we didn't even notice that the entire country wasn't taking Prozac!
How did we ever survive? :confused3

LOVE TO ALL OF US WHO SHARED THIS ERA

CREDITS TO JEAN (who ever she may be)

I wish I could get the matching smilies, but at least I found the music!

O.k., I couldn't stand just singing, the only phrase I know, Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end. So, I looked up the song's lyrics. At the risk of breaking any copyrights, here's all the lyrics below so we can all sing along.

Music & Lyrics: Gene Raskin; performed by Mary Hopkins)
Once upon a time there was a tavern
Where we used to raise a glass or two
Remember how we laughed away the hours
And dreamed of all the great things we would do

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way.
La la la la...
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days

Then the busy years went rushing by us
We lost our starry notions on the way
If by chance I'd see you in the tavern
We'd smile at one another and we'd say

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way.
La la la la...
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days

Just tonight I stood before the tavern
Nothing seemed the way it used to be
In the glass I saw a strange reflection
Was that lonely woman really me

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way.
La la la la...
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days

Through the door there came familiar laughter
I saw your face and heard you call my name
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way.
La la la la...
Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days

Sorry, I started my new job this week and to say I have been busy is an understatement. I am taking my lunch break right now so I could balance my checkbook and check out the board.

Vicki-Sorry about DD but at least there may be some relief. Although I am not as bad as her, I seem to be allergic to everything outdoor and cats and dogs. My skin sometimes breaks out from the wrong kind of soap or detergent and I have what my grandmother called "Chicken Skin" on my upper arms. Nice isn't she :maleficen

In reviewing past threads I noticed the part about the t-shirts. I think I will look into screen printing. Have soem time so when it gets normal here I will check it out.

As for additional cruisers, my friend and her DD 6 (will be 7 when we sail) should be making a reservation today. Not sure if she can get "addicted" to the boards but I am going to show her once she gets her reservation squared away. So we may have an additional poster. I will keep you updated. Life is good, just wishing this Labor Day was our cruise. Sorry for being away so long. I will try to post more. I really can't wait to meet you guys. Our group is a lot of fun so I expect that we will be fine but would love to hang out in an "adults only" section one night if the children cooperate. That way we can have adult conversations that are not distracted by kids going crazy!

Just got the reason why the Wonder September sailings were blocked:

NEWS FLASH! Disney Cruise Line has just announced two special, "Southern Caribbean" itineraries for the Disney Wonder (that's Wonder, not Magic!) for September 2006. On September 7 the Wonder will depart Port Canaveral for 10 nights with stops at St. Thomas, St. Lucia, Barbados, Antigua, and Castaway Cay (that's 4 at-sea days - yum!). Then on September 17 the Wonder is off again, this time for 11 nights, visiting those same ports plus St. Kitts. These will be DCL's first visits to Barbados and St. Kitts. It also means there will be three fewer 3-night and three fewer 4-night Bahamian cruises on the Wonder in 2006. Guests who already booked a sailing on the Wonder during that time period can expect to hear from DCL or their travel agent about their options. One might quibble about calling these "Southern" Caribbean itineraries, as they don't venture near the truly southern islands of Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Trinidad or Tobago. These are really slight variations on previous Special "Caribbean Itineraries," but such is the world of cruise marketing.

Very interesting! I would think this would make our 4 night a hot item for those who cannot travel that long in September. That is a really long time for people who have kids in school. One would think August would be better for this :confused3

Hey Lisa: Glad you found your way over. My DS will be 7 and my friend (who should be making a reservation today) has a DD that will be 7 as well. Taeja will put all your info on our list. She usually updates it when we get someone new. OUR cruise is going to be a blast!!! It's great to have you. The three of us have been dying to get some more cruisers on the thread!

my friend is booking her cruise today (hopefully) She got a new job working in ER for a local hospital and had to go and complete paperwork and do her physical. So there will be another nurse on board. Hopefully she will get all her stuff done so that she can work on booking the cruise. As soon as she does I will get her on this board!

Mondays are tough. Glad you are off today. :smooth:
Hope you all have a great Tuesday.

Lisa, go back to some of the previous posts where we talked t-shirts. We are really hoping to do this for our cruise.

Good Morning Cruisers!!!!!!!

Welcome Lisa!!!!! I think most of us are coming in the day before our cruise. What are you guys doing?
DD wants to stay at POR so we are actually coming in Friday after school spending Sat at POR and leaving Sun for our cruise!

I just read that the Sting-ray encounter will be up and running this Sept!!

Here's a link to a large list of websites so you all can track the Magic back to FLA. A friend of mine Ladypoo will have a "LIVE" report thread over on the cruise meets forum once she boards the Magic 8/20. I was going to do a virtual cruise, but I didn't want to cause any confusion. So, here's a link to a thread I started over on the cruise forum board. I cannot wait to start reading the 8/20 live report! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=883862

We are not really sure what we're doing at this point. Tammy and her gang are flying in and doing the "land" part of their trip before the cruise :boat: . I believe they are staying at AKL (unless that changed when our cruise dates changed.) I would LOVE to drive up that weekend and stay with her for a couple of Disney ::MickeyMo days but I am not sure if my mom will be up to it :rolleyes1 . If she isn't, I'd like to try to get to the port :boat: the night before. It's about 4 hours from here, I don't want to have to drive at the crack of dawn that day . :confused3 Time will tell I guess. We stay at POR frequently, it's one of the few places on property that has reasonably priced accomodations for our gang of 5.

We are hoping to do the Stingray Encounter. Stingrays are my fave! :lovestruc

Add another cruiser Taeja. I directed her to this thread so she should get here sometime soon. Her name is Wendy and her DD is 6 and will be 7 at cruise time. they booked the 12gty. the prices have gone way up. A cat. 10 was $300 more than when my parents and I booked. Supply and demand :earseek:

Told her to save her $$$ we wouldn't be in the room except to sleep and get dressed anyway. We are doing the dolphin swim!

Lisa, where in SW Florida are you coming from? I moved to SC from Fort Misery FL oops :rotfl2: I mean Ft Myers.

We all are coming in on Friday night. Now that the group has expanded (I hope to keep expanding it) we will probably decide a little closer as to what we will do on Saturday.

You were able to get (keep) the SPH rooms? I wonder if they bumped somebody up in Cat to put you there. They were booked earlier or I would have gotten one! I thought they'd bump you up to Cat 9 for having to reschedule.

I will have a fit with my TA if I found out you got randomly assigned those rooms! Poster 26555 hopefully is correct that they just bumped those people up a category. Let us know if you originally booked the SPH rooms???? :earseek:

Kerry,

Yes, we did originally book connecting SPH rooms for our 9/17 sailing. My TA told me that these rooms were already assigned but that DCL would "let us have them." That leads me to believe the folks that booked the SPH rooms got an upgrade! Too bad I didn't think to push for the upgrade for US since we were inconvenienced. I originally booked the SPH rooms in February of this year. When I booked, my TA didn't even sure what SPH rooms were.

I'm not sure why they'd involve bumping up others when they could have just said to choose from the open Cat 9's. By choosing, you could make sure not to get one that has been labeled "noisy". Seems like there is potential for the bumped parties to be upset if they do get a noisy room on deck 2 when they had, similarly, booked way in advance to get a SPH room. Who knows, maybe they bumped them up to a Cat 6 and everyone is happy!

26555: I would think since LTC'smom was having to change her trip they would have upgraded her at no charge to the cat 6 or at least pick the category 9 she wanted! How is it coming keeping this a secret? I am not sure I would have the ability to keep something like that for an extended period of time.

Vicki-sorry work has been rough. Hopefully all the drunks and crazies from Friday nights will come when your shift ends. Unless you are working the grave yard shift. yuck

I don't know why I didn't get the upgrade offer. We had booked two connecting SPH rooms so maybe that had something to do with it? I don't know. Maybe if I would have been persistent and carried on I would have gotten the upgrades. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that until AFTER my TA called and offered me the SPH rooms on the 9/3 sailing. I doubt I will be offered any upgrades now for anything else, I probably missed the boat, :boat: so to speak. :rotfl:

DH is really sick and so I've got my nurse hat on and am taking care of the kids. The kids are doing very well watching Merlin on the Disney channel right now.

So, the I dunno answer will continue 'eh? :faint: I told Robyn I didn't want to hear "I don't know", so I told her to think of two things to tell me when I ask her that question when I pick her up at school. I don't understand it. At her preschool I'd get a daily sheet telling me what they did that day and what she really liked doing. I miss those sheets. Since I see the teacher as I drop her off at school its different. ((I remember I dunno-ing my parents to death- time for repayment I guess))

I hope to have a new digital camera around Christmas time. The one we have right now is chunky and there's a picture taking delay. It'd be great to have our cameras figured out before our cruise. :teeth:

While the updated time-line has not yet been released, at this time DCL is still advising that Passports are required for sailings January 1, 2006 and later.

This could change, but for now, they are still requiring them.

I assume 'they' implies DCL. Could be bad news for us!

There's a free online DISNEY radio station. Here's a link to the one I like the best. THIS IS HOW RADIO DISNEY SHOULD BE! They play songs from movies , sound tracks from rides, and right now I am listening to the music from the Haunted Masion (the sounds you hear when you first walk in and the music from when you enter the ride). OMGosh, this is soooo cool. So,from now on,I'll be loggin in to the music site and then onto the DIS. Check it out guys! http://www.live365.com/stations/disneymagic901 There's other Disney stations as well, but I like the classics.

O.k.,I'm a little creeped out since I was just listening to the whistling song from Robin Hood and now the Haunted Masion. Ewww. O.k., the music changed to HERCULES ohhh the memories of my cruise in '04!

She was lucky to get Cat 12 when she did, they have disappeared for this sailing. (At least for 4 people in a room, the one I looked up.) $400 more to go to Cat 11. Must mean this ship is filling up. I'm glad I booked early. You can add us to the list (I had a silly screen name before and wanted to change it before I "came out" to the boards!) Still hope to forget about this one day soon, for about 6 months or so to make the waiting less painful! Me and DH - upper 30's and two boys, DS-6, DS-7 (almost 8) at time of sailing.

Welcome to the best cruise thread ever Really Fun Mom! My DS will be 7 as will my friend's DD so our kids will all be about the same age. Actually, ever one we have going seems to have children between the ages of 4-8 on the sailing. I think LCT's Mom has a teenager. But all of us have 1 that is in that age group.

We are rounding the corner to having a year left. I think we do a good job about not obsessing. Although our motto is "IS IT TIME YET? :hourglass "

Thanks! I was formerly known as 26555 but lets not speak of that silly silly screen name again..............

I don't remember the prices for other Cats, did they just go up or did they just lose the Cat 12 option? (Still means I save $400 by booking Cat 12 early since the cheapest option now is Cat 11 and with 4 people, we'll get that anyway!)

I would wait until we get our cruise t-shirts designed and surprise them that way. Just a suggestion. If it's a christmas present you could always do beach towels and make up a basket with cruise related items.

That is so cool. I don't think I could have waited that long! :rotfl:

When Wendy booked last week she got 1st seating no problem. I can't imagine you would have a problem now. My groups reservations are all linked together. Do you want me to PM you guys with our last names so you can request the link? How do you think we should do this? I can contact my TA and take care of it or we can each call our TA's and request the links. I think we would have to have the last names to make that work.

Taeja-let us know when you have confirmed the 1st seating.

Can you all imagine our group on Pirate night???? pirate: :drinking1 I am actually considering asking my TA when it gets closer to request to have the rotation that will put us in Parrot Cay on Pirate night (if they still do that of course!)

Today is of those days that the wallpaper on my computer is doing me no good. It is a picture of Castway Cay-an arial shot (did I spell that right?) The blue water and the boat docked are depressing me because I can't wait anymore. We watched the DCL planning DVD last night with the kids and I think it just depressed me.

I think I need to plan something. I was thinking about making a shopping list for items I want to bring. That way I can purchase things here and there and cross them off.

O.k., I asked a very reliable source about linking and getting our tables together. Read the following:

My Question:
Several of my DIS group want to link our dining rotations for our 9/3/06 sailing. Since you've sailed more than I, how would we request being linked and seated together? I look forward to your advice.

Answer #1
What you need to do is get everyone's name and reservation number, then call DCL and tell them you would like to link your dinner reservations together. It's as simple as that!!!

My Question #2:
Stupid question- will linking our reservations seat us together as well? I need a smilie w/ a mallot here.

Answer #2:
DCL will do their best to seat you as close together as they can. It all depends on the number of families that you are linking ressies with. On our cruise for August 2006, we have about 12 families link together for dinner ressies.
---end----

Gotta go, my youngest dd, thinks my food from the microwave is going to "born" b/c it keeps beeping.

Thanks for posting the info. I thought DCL will not talk to you if you booked your reservation through a TA? I will be upset if my group isn't at least at the same table as me. We have 7 in our party and I would imagine they have tables that big! I have no problem calling DCL and asking them to link me to you all. Ker-Bear, good question (I thought DCL will not talk to you if you booked your reservation through a TA), do you know something I don't know? You should be able to call DCL directly. Besides, the TA is playing with your reservations. Let me search the threads some more to see if that issue has come up before and I'll get back with you all. Thanks for volunteering. Kerry, you'll be heading up our linked tables and our DIS meet as well? Just checking.

I still assume if some one DOES NOT want to give out their cruise reservation number they can still link it to one of us and we should, in the end be linked together. IF you do not feel comfortable about giving out your reservation number just PM me.They'll still break us a part, but I'm sure we'll all be close enough together to make some (((((noise)))))! I spoke to DCL in between meetings. I am sure I look very funny walking and talking and writing in my notebook! Here is my best explanation:

We can all be linked together. I now have a contact and she has asked I do not make public how this works and I promised I wouldn't. So you have to have a little faith! This is what I need:

Your last name, reservation number, cabin#, and # of people in your cabin. In addition, if anyone is linked to your reservation and you want them at the same table as you, I would need their name, cabin #, and # of people in their cabin. Each group will have their own table and all our tables will be next to each other. If the other party is linked to you, I do not need the ressie number just the name, cabin # and number of ppl in the cabin.

For example, I have 7 people in my party with three reservations. We are all linked. If I link Vicki to my reservation, anyone on her ressie that is linked to her would now be linked to all of us. It is basically a domino effect. They recommend one point of contact, which I will do. In using this example, I would make sure my group is at one table and Vicki's group is at a different table together. Their table would be next to mine.

I don't want to explain too much so if you have further questions, e-mail me or PM me. I just don't want to get to into it here and break my promise.

Vicki, if your brother wants to sit with you than he wouldn't have to provide the ressie number since I have yours. You would only have to link each other or just give me his name, cabin # and # ppl in cabin.

I am going to create a spreadsheet to keep track. We can refer new DISer's that join to this posting later.

I emailed Zazzle about that shirt we like and our saying "It's time". Here is what they said:

Thanks for emailing our Support Team. Unfortunately, shirts in our Disney
Collection may only be customized using the names & pre-set phrases which
are available on our website and are specific to each design. This is a
part of our licensing agreement with Disney, and we are unfortunately not
able to make any exceptions. Disney images are globally recognizable, and
as you might imagine, vulnerable to people who may wish to place them with
inappropriate phrases. Unfortunately our best way of screening out such
potential problems is to restrict the sayings to what has already been
reviewed and approved by Disney. I apologize for any inconvenience this may
cause.

What we can do is buy the shirts with NO saying and then get iron-on letters from JoAnn fabric or Michael or else where and put our saying on.
So what do you think?

I just realized as I was fxing up my spreadsheet that I really do not need anyone's reservation numbers until we are 75 days away from our cruise. I figured that some of you DISer's may be concerned about giving that to me for fear I might make changes (which I would never do :sunny: )

So, on that note, if you want to be linked, just PM me and tell me you cabin number and number in your party. I would need all cabin numbers associated with your group. I can get the other stuff when everyone is paid in full and I really can't make any changes. I hope this will make everyone feel a little bit better. Taeja had sent me a link about this topic and some had posted the concern about giving the ressie number out.

When it gets closer, I will post again about this.

Looks good!! Let me forewarn all of you, I stink at this kind of stuff. I will need very explicit instructions to do anything like what Taeja was recommending. I want to do it, just have no idea how! :confused3 :guilty:

Happy Friday to all!

It wont be hard! I promise! ;) and if all else fails I could put it on the transfer paper and mail it to you and all you would have to do is iron it on! :flower:

OK Are we scraping the zazzle tshirt since they wont put our saying on it ?

Are we going to design our own so we can add our saying "It's time"!!!!!!!

If this is what we are doing I think I am going to order my shirts now from that site I found so they dont run out of the color/sizes we need.

I agree I think the Zazzle idea is out and the cheeptee's is in.
Was your son able to get the ::MickeyMo clip art on the CC pic w/ the Wonder on the background?

I also agree, if we are interested in getting the lime green shirts we should order (or buy them) now or fairly soon. That's one last minute item I don't want to think about.

I better check out that website soon!

Another idea. I have the clip art for the Mickey on Zazzle that we liked. If my son can figure out how to put the clipart on the picture. We could put him either on the picture of the Port entrance or the Mickey ear portal.

What has happened to all the other DISer's on our cruise? Do you think the 3 of us have run them off? We are almost at the 1 year countdown. I promised myself not to get too into "Cruise Craziness" until we had less than a year. Now that we are approaching that mark I can feel it coming on. I don't want to frighten anyone. :rotfl2:

I think we should buy the t-shirts and plan on doing the iron-on. We can always "vote" later when all the other cruisers get involved for what the iron-on should look like.

Vicki- Can your son do a couple different choices and you post them?

Dang it! I just found a bunch of pictures of Castaway Cay and the Magic/Wonder and my computer won't open them b/c of the format! I found one that was a trading pin and it was cute. I found another pic that was a map of CC (beige w/ all the points of interest on the island). I am sooo bummed! :badpc: I went to Yahoo and typed in "disney castaway cay" and went through the yahoo photo album. :(

I started a thread asking DISers to post their pics of CC as well. If we do use one of those photos I'd like to ask the poster for their permission to use it before we do any thing. Am I making sense?

In case you haven't seen it, here's the DIS meet ideas thread. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=895785 :grouphug:

I am still here! I am on and off checking in here, sorry if I am quiet. I think the t shirt ideas are great! The cheap lime shirts are probably the best way to go. I haven't tried making anything with iron on transfers but I would be willing to. I also saw a post a while back where people were making tie dyed tee shirts with mickey heads on them. They were awesome! I would like to try to attemt those as well but they look a little challenging.

On a side note, I just wanted to say thanks to you guys for organizning everything! I can't believe we are almost at the one year point, it seems like I started planning our cruise 100 years ago!

Yeah I used Paintshop Pro 9. I cropped the image by copying it and putting it on a second layer, then just erasing the white on it. I cheated

Would you like to cheat some more? I really like this img, but I don't like the white around it. It's similar to the clip art you cleaned up. Could you clean it up for me? Feel free to Private Message (PM) me with it or post the revised image here.

While at dinner on Saturday night, I think Wendy and I convinced another set of friends to cruise with us. They are discussing it and hopefully it will work out. I love the t-shirt design. My group is being a bunch of party poopers about the t-shirts. So it looks like me and the kids in our group will wear the t-shirts. I am going to order mine today.

Tim, thank you for all your work and effort!!! Hopefully you will change your mind about sailing!

They have these t-shirts at Wal-Mart in the boys section in a bunch of different colors. I am going to check to see if lime is one of them today. That way I can pick those up for the kids and just order mine. To say I am bummed that the rest of the adults in my group are frowning about the t-shirts is an understatement. It took the wind out of my sail so to speak! :guilty: :sad1:

Dont let it get you down!!!!!
We bought matching sweatshirts when we went to WDW in Dec. DS didnt want to but we found one he liked. Maybe after they see what designs we come up with they will chamge their minds. If not their loss ;)

Ker-Bear
08-29-2005, 10:58 AM
I agree that it's their loss. I hope that as we get closer, the excitement will increase. I have wanted to do this for over two years so I guess my enthusiasm stems from that :confused3 I really can't wait and know that I will have a good time. MY DS went last year with my parents on the 3 day and last night while cleaning out some of his stuff, I found the navigators my mom brought back. We looked at them and DS was so excited. It got me very revved up!!! :Pinkbounc We even have the invite to the Golden Mickeys! It's a plastic piece that sticks onto the door or mirror

I am sure things will have changed when we go but it is neat to look at all the activities planned that you can participate in. Not having the sea day makes it a little less so I am glad we booked the 4 day instead. I plan on saving money to put a deposit down for a seven day while we are on board. I do not care if no one but DS and I goes. He is begging to do the seven day!

08-29-2005, 11:49 AM
We are really considering it. For our cruise we would only need 342 points. You can bank points you arent going to use and borrow from next year. Lots of other vacations to go on too! It is looking more like we will but we are still looking into it. I want my parents to go to WDW but my Mum is relucant. I told her if we join DVC we took a big chunk of her expense away. She wouldnt have to pay for a room. ::MickeyMo

08-29-2005, 11:53 AM
Hilton Head has a Disney Resort that you use DVC points for. I love Hilton Head and for that reason alone would consider DVC. That way if WDW is not a possibilty one particular year than Hilton Head isn't that far away. Haven't heard much about the Hilton Head Resort though. I wouldn't mind seeing a presentation. If they do one on the ship and it doesn't conflict with anything, I will probably attend,.
