Hey all - real quickly thank you so much for your concern. We are fine here. Actually, our area was pretty well untouched apart from some wind (that woke me up at 5 am) and a few downed trees (not in our yard though). My Mom called me all worried. I thought it only hit Volusia county (Daytona area) from what they were reporting that morning, but later in the day they said Seminole county was hit badly as well. That's us! Ack.
But we enjoyed a lovely day-after birthday at WDW today. And I got a warning from lbgraves that my signature is in violation. Oops. Note the current lack of photos that were apparently 40 pixels too high......ah well.
Catching up, and then starting on taxes :sad2:

Sadly I have been waiting and waiting for weeks for Lionel's W2 and student loan info to arrive. I guess his employer likes waiting until the last minute. Usually, we got his student loan info BEFORE mine, but not this year. When we got home last night all of his info was sitting in the mailbox and I ran inside to start :rotfl:

I love my brother, but I sometimes wish that I had a sister for simple, simple reasons. Seeing as how my mom and I couldn't even make it through a 5 hour trip with me on painkillers (meaning, I slept. A lot).. I just think it'd be nice to have someone to break down and talk to sometimes. Gets a little frustrating venting to my dog time and time again. He just doesn't get it!
Greg's good for that brotherly protection thing... sorta. He's got more wit than muscle.
....I do hear stories daily though about the different ways he reminds my stalker that he'll never be a member of my family. So I guess, in a way, he's doing his brotherly thing.

Yeah, he's still at it. Apparently the spare bedroom of his trailor is piled up with gifts he's buying for me but can't since he promised the police he'd stay away.
We're going to get married, in Disney World, have four kids and live happily ever after :rolleyes1
Apparently he makes a lot of comments to my brother at work along the lines of "When we're brothers for real..." and Greg goes crazy on him. Understandably! :scared1:
See, I wouldn't have that problem if I had sisters because they probably wouldn't talk to my mother either. Greg and I both pretty much ignore her.. sad but true. :confused3 No need for brownie points when there is nothing to gain, lol.

If I go to the movies and Ralph, the general manager, is on duty and Dustin (stalker) is the one selling tickets.. I just bypass the ticket line and walk right into the theater. Ralph doesn't even usually give me a ticket at all, he just waves me in.. so it's never been a problem. Until one night, I guess.. when Dustin broke down into uncontrollable tears when I walked past him.
I was walking down the hallway towards my theater when Ralph yelled at me. I asked him what he wanted and he was like:
"YOU MADE MY EMPLOYEE CRY!"
I was seriously shocked that a) he cared and b) he was yelling at me.
Then he finally came all the way up to me, smiled and said "Thank you, I could send him to the back where I don't have to deal with him now."
How sad is that?:confused3

We are actually going on the Wonder Aug 24-28th 2008 so we wil miss you by a couple of days. That 5 day cruise looked so temptimg because of the pricing but I can never make my kids miss the 1st 3 days of school again. I have been looking at other cruises in the summer trying to find something as good (and affordable), but I'm having a hard time leaving the double dip on the Magic. I really want the kids to get to experience Ocean Quest before they're too old (they'll be 14 on that trip :sad1: ). Patsy - Rink is ssooooo cute in his "first" picture! Tell me more about his nose surgery. Was it aggrevating for him? Did he recover quickly? How old was he when he had it done? Was it expensive? Sorry for so many questions, but Mulan is my 4th Shih Tzu, but my first to have a snort. She sounds like she might need that surgery. :guilty: I was hoping she would out grow it.

Ahhh, Mulan! Thats so cute :)
He did just fine on the surgery. I had to watch him because he had one of those Elizabethan cones around his head for a couple weeks. He'd get so frustrated, he'd lay the rim of the cone flat on the ground and try to pull his head out. He was so small, though, that he'd end up flipping over the cone and smashing his face against the ground mid-flip. Silly dog. It was amusing, but I think it hurt him.
The worst part was definitely having the stitches removed! He bled for a couple hours that day and was very upset with me. He was... about 4 months old when he had it done.
I'm really glad I chose to have the surgery. We noticed an instant improvement in the way he breathed, how long he could play.. He still snorts but the Vet told me he probably always would, even though he's medically fine.
Afraid I can't answer the $$ question. Rink is insured and they covered all of the surgery... Sorry.

I watched a little, saw half time, and then moved on. I read earlier that the commercial from Disney was for some other movie. :sad2: Now the latest rumor is that the trailer will be shown in previews before "Ghost Rider." :confused3 We'll see. I'm sure as soon as the trailer comes out in theaters (or anywhere) it'll magically appear on YouTube. :goodvibes
Patsy - I have a solid black male (Mushu) and a white/gold/little black female (Mulan). If they had puppies, I'm sure they'd have one to look just like Rink. :cloud9: I must admit that I laughed (while I also thought "poor baby") when reading your description of how Rink behaved with the cone around his head. I can see mine acting the same way. :upsidedow

I agree. My mother thinks that the amount of care Rink has needed has equalled that of a child. (He's gotten sick a couple of times and I've had to leave work or call one of my parents to take him for me.. which they do NOT appreciate at all..
of course, my parents aren't as involved as most so I guess that doesnt really say much.
I'm cleaning up my old laptop and found a couple of pictures of him with his cone. He was very fluffy! If I remember right, he was looking at me, like.. how am I supposed to eat with this cone on my head? Look. i've got food all over me!

My dad doesn't mind having Rink around. I think Rink has been his blessing through this strike.. he comes home and goes in the backyard and runs around with him and they play. Rink is his major stress-relief. Luckily, I've been able to leave Rink with them for all my trips because as long as they don't have to go out there way for him, they don't mind him :)
I would love to see Mulan!
Do you keep them shaved or what? I can't find a good way to keep Rink groomed. He shivers when his fur is short but when its fluffy, he tracks all sorts of things in the house and has to be brushed constantly! Looking back at these pictures, he looks quite FAT! Hehe!

My puppy had a cone once too.:guilty: So sad and whimpery looking.:sad2:  She had cataracts and we had both her eyes fixed. She was just a puppy so it was either put her down, let her go blind her ENTIRE life (actually I don't think that was ever really an option...too much work and such...and suffering on Spirit's part I'd say), or get them fixed. Needless to say it was expensive to fix the eyes (2000 an eye? or I could be making that up:rotfl: ) but my grandparents actually paid for it. It was supposed to be a secret to us kids I guess but my mom told us like a year or two afterwards.

Patsy, we let Mushu's hair grow as long as we can stand it - which is right about when it starts to get too matted up to keep brushed. He's about 1 1/2 years old so he's full grown and has a thick coat. Mulan is only about 5 months old, so she still has that puppy fur that doesn't mat up yet. I'll have to get a picture of the two for you - they're pretty cute. :goodvibes But it's hard to get a good picture of Mushu, he's so black he just looks like a dark blob in pictures. :rotfl2:

I noticed that about Rink, too! As he gets older, I've got to get him groomed more often because his fur mats terribly. The last time he went the lady clipped him because his mats were so bad but I couldn't get him in before I left for WDW.. and he was SHAVED as close as I think he could have been. Poor Rink. Okay, no my ancient memory is coming back to me. I can picture a white one, a brown one, a reddish one, I don't know if I've seen a black one before. But of course, I had never seen a solid black shih tzu until I bought mine. ;)

Heidi - that looks like a sweet "baby" :cloud9:
She has one sweet bed too (for a dog)! :goodvibes
Hehe thanks. Yes she leads a very spoiled life. And she has gone and peed in her bed once or twice.:sad2: Who knows why...she was completely grown up. She was probably just acting out!:rotfl:

I bought Rink a bed but he ended up trying to get it to sleep WITH him.. instead of sleeping on it.. To this day, if he sees it sticking out of whichever closet I've shoved it in, he gets all excited and starts barking. :confused3 :rotfl2: :scared:

The totally black ones actually scare me. So that options out the window.:rotfl:
Here's one more of Spir not so balled up...and being queen of the backyard!:rotfl: She can be quite territorial sometimes... She's quite the tomboy I'd say.:p

Hehe. :rotfl2:
It's sorta sad because one of the cats loved sleeping on it, but we had to put it away because he'd start going at it with the bed while she was asleep and he'd trample her the more into it he got.. :scared1:
It was leopard print.. maybe that was it?!

Sorry, Lisa . . . it's been my problem for quite a while now. I have more websites, but I'll let you absorb this one for a little bit before I expose you to more. ;) Chris won't appreciate me very much - first I help you spend most of your money and now I've given you more of a computer addiction. (PS I still like Christos). :teeth:
Regal is a much better word for Spirit. :thumbsup2

Pretty much.
I know that Ted & Terry (I'm on a first name basis because I talk to them on their website ;) :lmao: ) put A LOT of thought into these movies when writing them, but COME ON, they are also writing to sell a movie at a box office! That's why some of the things happen!
Heidi - I hope you caught that I was laughing at you calling Spirit a "tomboy" and not laughing at the picture!

When we got Rocky, the people also gave us a pretty good sized stuffed squirrel that he would constantly attack. It was mortifying! The boys were little and they'd constantly ask me what he was doing. He'd end up hobbling around, he couldn't walk when he was done! :scared1:  :lmao: :lmao: Needless to say, that squirrel went far far away!
