Hello, I am Z.

I joined the wish boards not too long ago. January 5th of this year is when I decided that I needed to get healthy. Since then I have lost 29 lbs, 7.5 since I joined the wish boards. I am currently slipping with my food choices though. Nearly all that my brothers eat is junk food. Picture a pantry full of Ding Dongs, Oatmeal Cream Pies, Peanut Butter, Doritos, Leftover Easter Candy, etc. It is not a force to be reckoned with :smooth: . Anyway, the purpose of this journal is to record my eating habits, exercising habits, and bible-study habits(which are also slipping). I keep tabs on my eating by using the WW points system. I am currently in my second week of the Walk/Run program for a half in the Marathoning for Mortals book. My goals are:

Revision of Goals 6-25-05, 8-1-05

Eating Goals
1. Eat within my WW points range
2. Eat at least 7 fresh fruits or veggies a day instead of 5 fruits and vegetables a day
3. Drink at least 10 glasses of water instead of 8 glasses of water a day
4. No fried food (bad for me in more ways than one, I have ulcers :sad2: )

Exercising Goals
1. Stay on Walk/Run Program Over, so I will shoot for running at least 3 miles 2 or 3 times a week and xtrain at least 2 or 3 times a week
2. Stay up and active throughout the day instead of on my butt all day :) .

Sorry, but somehow I submitted that post while I was still typing,
Anyway

Revision of Goals 6-25-05

Bible Study Goals
1. Set aside time to do sunday school bible study and more than that is always good instead of at least 45 minutes per day specifically designated for bible study.

So these are my goals. I hope this will be a good form of motivation. I will try to post daily and address all the goals starting tomorrow. Wish me luck because tomorrow is my weigh-in day.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that I am signed up for the half at Disney in January 2006. Well, I hope my journal can be amusing to someone  .

Here's some progress photos(updated June 5th 2005):

First things first:

Today was my weigh day and I lost 1.5 pounds.

Eating Goals
1. Ate within my point range but could have done without:
the piece of devils food cake with icing for afternoon snack
the 4 pcs of bacon for mid-morning snack(cooked in the microwave on one of those bacon plates)
2. Had 5 fruits and vegetables
plum
large salad (counts as two servings) :)
small salad
veggies in frozen dinner
3. Forgot to count glasses of water but I think I had about 4 or 5
4. Did not eat any fried foods :flower:

Exercising Goals
1. Stayed on Program for Walk/Run of a Half. Today was a rest day. :teeth:
2. Stayed up and active approximately 40% of the day :guilty: . Went to visit my neice so I sat down for a long while to play with her.

Bible Study Goals
1. Did my 45 minutes of Bible Study from 5 to 5:45. Started a Revive My Spirit Devotional. This weeks bible verse is John 7:37-39. :daisy:

I think I got off to a pretty good start. And boy, you guys really jump on that encouragement stuff. I appreciate it.

I thought also that I might want to give a short bio of myself. I am 20 years old. I dropped out of high school in the 11th grade, got my GED and went on to college early. I completed my BA in Psychology in 3 years. I had some classes from dual enrollment in high school and summer courses which allowed me to finish quicker. Anyway I graduated college last May and am currently taking a break from school :cloud9: . I don't know if I want to get a master's yet or not. I am living with my parents and my two smaller brothers who are 7 and 4. I also have a sister(25) and brother in law that live in the same town. My oldest brother is 28 and he lives about one hour away. I also have a sister(22) and brother in law that I went to college with that live about 45 minutes away. I love my family and I am glad that I get to be at home right now (except when I get really annoyed with my little brothers ; but I really do love them ;) ) Anyway, this is turning into a long winded type thing so I will tell more about myself later. Thanks again for the encouragement guys. :disrocks:

Even with some "not-so-perfect" food choices you still stayed OP! Awesome! Someday you'll be able to figure out where you want to balance between the cucumbers and the bacon, but you did a great job managing it this week!

Great job getting your exercise--doesn't it make you feel great!

Hope you have an awesome weekend. Keep up the good work!! :)

You are doing so well with trying to meet all of your goals! :cool1:

I have no doubt that after overcoming the obstacle of schooling that you will be able to meet your weight loss challenge as well. Having your BA at the age of 20 is an AWESOME accomplishment.

Keep up the good work. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Yesterday I didn't get a chance to post about my goals so this is yesterday's:

Eating Goals
1. Ate within my point range
but could have done without
the 4 tblsp of whipped vanilla icing :guilty: on my 1/2 cup of lite ice cream (kinda defeats the purpose of the lite ice cream doesn't it) :teeth:
2. Had 5 servings of fruits and vegetables
plum
banana
hamburger with lots of lettuce and onions
plum
fruit cup from chick-fil-a
3. Had 8 glasses of water
4. Ate chick-fil-a chicken sandwich that was fried

Exercising Goals
1. Stayed on Walk/Run Program
Yesterday was my X training day for 30 minutes. I got outside and rode on my bike. It was very pleasant (aside from the demonic seat that is on my bike  , very hard and uncomfortable).
2. I stayed up and active approximately 70 % of the day. One thing that contributed to this was that I went shopping with my friend yesterday afternoon and she wanted to try on everything at every store she could find. Of course most of these stores were strictly skinny people stores so I couldn't really do anything but walk around and look at clothes that I couldn't fit into. Of course there are no hard feelings toward my friend b/c I agreed to go. I knew it would happen. Anyway, it worked out good b/c I got that extra exercise that I need ;) .

Bible Study Goals
1. I completed my full 45 minutes of Bible Study yesterday :) . I did the 3rd day in the devotional book Revive my spirit. The focus was on the characteristics of the Holy Spirit and what it actually does. Very informative.

Well that was all for yesterday. I'll post again later for today's results.

About Today's Goals

Eating Goals
1. Ate within my point range :flower:
but could have done without:
the whole pack of sour cream and chives crackers that I ate
2. Had 6 servings of fruits and veggies :sunny:
banana
plum
lots of vegetables on my turkey sandwich(lettuce of various types and onions)
tomato soup
banana
medium sized salad
3. Stopped counting after I drank 9 glasses of water.
4. Had 1/2 filet of fried catfish :guilty:

Exercise Goals
1. Stayed on Walk/Run Program
Today was my 3 mile day. I was supposed to do W4/R1 but I didn't realize that until I got back. I thought I was just supposed to do W3/R1 like my middle of the week sessions. I don't think it was too hard for me. My next weeks coming up are 4 miles and then 5 miles with the W4/R1 sequence and then the next week I go back down to 3 miles with the W3/R1 sequence. Does anybody have any advice about whether or not I should continue the W3/R1 pace on my long days or not? Aside from all of that, I had a PR today.
I did my three miles outside (I normally use the treadmill) and was done in 50 minutes and 10 seconds. This works out to approx. a 16 minute and 45 seconds per mile pace. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Last time I did a Walk/Run session on the TM you can see that I was doing roughly an 18 minute mile and it was torturous. Being outside is way better. I guess you just don't really realize that you are moving faster. My exercise really was the best part of the day. I am now seriously thinking of signing up for a 5K soon.
2. I did not stay up and active throughout the day very much at all. I exercised in the morning, but then when I got back home I just zoned out in front of the tv and was lazy. I started to get a little stiff feeling and I knew that I should do some more activity. Going on a bike ride crossed my mind, but I kept thinking of all the things that I would have to do to ride my bike. I would have to change into some exercise clothes, prepare to get sweaty, get sweaty while riding the bike, take a shower when I got back, fix my hair, and the list goes on. I was just being lazy. I tried to get rid of my bodies cries for movement by taking a nap. Bad idea. I layed there for an hour and just felt miserable, not to mention, I never fell asleep. By this time I was just fed up. I just said to myself,"Dangit! Just do it Z!". So I did it. Before supper I went out and leisurely rode my bike for about 30 minutes. It was very nice ( stress relieving too :flower: )

Bible Study Goals
1. As I was saying earlier, I was extremely lazy today. There were lots of times during the day when I could have set aside time to do my bible study, however, I didn't because I AM LAZY. Well maybe I'm not lazy all the time, but today I was.

Eating Goals
1. Ate within range today :cool1:
And I made very good food choices all day long :)
2. Had 7 fruits and veggies
plum x 2
banana
plum
lettuce in 2 chicken soft tacos
banana
salad
3. Had 9 glasses of water.
4. Had cinnamon twists from taco bell. I think they are fried. :guilty:

Exercising Goals
1. Stayed on Walk/Run Program for half
Today was a rest day. I don't think I did anything too strenuous. ;)
2. I stayed up and active probably 70% of the day. I went to Sunday School with my little brothers. When we got done, we came back home and I filled up the kiddie pool for them. I washed my car while they played. It was very nice outside :sunny: . Then in the afternoon I took a 30 minute leisurely bike ride. Very pleasant(except for the still hard seat :sad2: )

Bible Study Goals
1. I have not yet done my Bible Study for today, but will when I get done posting. This text will be red until I come and confirm that I did actually do the Bible Study. Today's Bible Study will be about believing and trusting in Jesus.

About Today's Goals

Eating Goals
1. Ate within my point range :flower:
but could have done without:
the whole pack of sour cream and chives crackers that I ate

I love that you put this in your journal...you admit it and move on--BRAVO!!

I like the fact that you don't expect yourself to be perfect & that you certainly don't hammer yourself when you don't make the healthiest choice....your attitude is great!!

Good luck this week!!!

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday. So here is yesterday's

Eating Goals
1. I ate within my range ;)
but could have done without
the coffee cup full of frozen Cool Whip Free that I ate :teeth:
eating my lean gourmet chicken alfredo florentine pasta meal at 9:30 at night
2. I had 6 fruits and veggies :Pinkbounc
banana
canned corn
lettuce, onions, and pickles piled high on my lean burger making it nearly 6 inches high instead of 2. (counts as 2)
banana
dole 100% juice strawberry popsicle thingy
3. I had nearly 10 glasses of water. :flower:
4. I had no fried food. :teeth:

Exercising Goals
1. I did not stay on the Walk/Run Program
Today was supposed to be a W3/R1 day repeated 8 times with a 5 minute warm up and cool down. I didn't really realize how fatigued my muscles were until I actually started on the treadmill. In the previous days I have done some biking. Although I haven't been doing a whole heck of a lot of biking it is something new for me so I think the bike riding caught up with me and my muscles. Somewhere between the end of the cool down and about 7 minutes into the actual workout I made an executive decision. That decision was that if I continued my workout on the TM I would only get mad(because I was not able to keep up with my normal pace), not to mention more sore and crabby. So, I got off the TM and assessed the situation. I have been enjoying my bike rides. So today after I jumped off the TM I did a short 10 minute bike ride. I am still on the Program but instead of Cross Training for 30 minutes tomorrow I will only do 10 minutes on the bike. And I will try to genuinely rest on my rest day the following day.
2. I stayed up and active throughout about 50% of the day. I did alot of shopping . I bought groceries, went to the library, bought groceries at the other grocery store that has better stuff, went to the pharmacy, and went to the dollar general. I did a lot of stuff. :)

Bible Study Goals
1. I did not do 45 minutes of Bible Study today. I have no excuse except that I am lazy and chose to use my time doing other things that were not nearly as important.

Zela

Here is today's

Eating Goals
1. Ate within my points range :smooth:
but could have done without
lite syrup and rf peanut butter on my GoLean Kashi blueberry waffles(they didn't need all that extra stuff)
2. I am going to eat a banana and green beans with whatever I have for supper so I will have my 5 fruits and veggies at the end of the day. So far I have had:
banana
large salad at lunch(counts as two) :flower:
too bad those weight watcher carrot cakes don't count as a veggie ;)
3. I have had 5 glasses of water so far today, but I will have at least another three tonight before I go to bed so that bring me to 8.
4. I had no fried foods today

Exercising Goals
1. Did not do assigned session on Walk/Run Program.
As mentioned before, I am trying to give my muscles a breather. Today was supposed to be a Cross Training for 30 minutes day. Instead I just did 10 minutes on my bike. And my muscles do feel better today so I don't want to over do it. Tomorrow is my rest day. I hope I can get completely ache free by day after tomorrow, so that I can use the TM efficiently again. :sunny:
2. I did not stay up and active most of the day today.
I purposely tried to take it easy so that my body would have time to rest. Although I did take my 4 year old brother to the dentist. The town where his dentist is located has some malls, so naturally, I had to do a little looking around. We went to Target b/c I had heard that they had a lot of stuff on clearance. I found lots of cute things. However, the cutest things were baby clothes. I bought some baby clothes there and I bought some at Parisians. Parisians had some good deals to. I sort of "collect" baby clothes  . I am not married, nor do I have any prospects, nor do I even date right now, so many of my family members and friends think it is foolish. Anyway, I figure the more baby clothes I buy now the less I'll have to buy one day when I do have children.

Bible Study Goals
1. I did my bible study today( I don't know if it took 45 minutes or not, I forgot to set my watch) :goodvibes
Today finished up day five and week 1 of the Revive my spirit devotional book that I have. It focused on the rivers of living water flowing from the hearts of Christians and what it means.

Baby clothes are hard to resist!

Good job with tracking your food and on the exercise. Don't feel too bad when you let your body rest because it is much worse to keep pushing a tired body.

Keep up the work you are doing! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

For Today

Eating Goals
1. Ate within my point range :sunny:
but could have done without
the second chips ahoy 100 calorie pack I ate
the 4 chocolate covered marshmallow eggs I had left over from Easter :guilty:
2. Had 5 fruits and veggies
banana
lots of lettuce/onions on ham sandwich
2 servings of string beans
1/2 cup applesauce
3. Drank 9 glasses of water today :smooth:
4. I had no fried food today. :cool1:

Exercising Goals
1. Stayed on Walk/Run Program
Today was a rest day. I rested :cloud9: .
2. I did not stay up and active hardly any of the day. Trying to rest you know. ;)

Bible Study Goals
1. Started week 2 of the revive my spirit devotional book. I believe the scripture was 2 Chronicles 14, but I'm not sure. It is the one that says something like "if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, and seek me and turn from their sins, then I will hear them from heaven and forgive them and I will restore their land". I set aside 45 minutes in which to complete it but I was done in 30 minutes.

Haven't posted since Wednesday. I haven't had a whole lot of time. Anyway, I didn't write down about my goals on Thursday so here is Thursday the best I can remember.

Thursday

Eating Goals
1. Ate within my point range :)
2. Ate at least 5 fruits and veggies(don't remember what they were)
3. Had 7 glasses of water (I remembered that :sad2: )
4. Had a bite of a fried chicken leg but after reassessing the situation I decided that I didn't want the rest of it. :teeth:

Exercising Goals
1. Got back on track with the Walk/Run Program. :cool1:
Thursday was W3/R1 for 32 minutes. I did this on the TM and had an average pace of about 17 minutes and 50 some-odd seconds.
2. I did not stay up and active most of the day. I did a lot of laundry.

Bible Study Goals
1. Did my devotional in the Revive my spirit book. It was about 2 Chronicles 7:14 where God is saying "If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, seek my face, and turn from their sins then I will hear them from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land". Thursday it was about the act of humbling ourselves before God (and others for that matter ;) ) It didn't fill up my 45 minutes (only 30).

That was Thursday

Two pieces of chocolate from the World Market Store (one was 77% cocao with Strawberries and Peppers which sounds interesting but trust me, it tasted like one would imagine poo to taste; the other was a Lindt  brand dark chocolate that was 85% cocao, now that was good ;) )

Here is today's

Eating Goals
1. Stayed within point range :flower:
but could have done without
the 4 chicken tenders for lunch
4 Honey BBQ frito twists
1 swiss roll out of a two pack (shows a lot of self-control ;) )
2. Had 4 fruits and veggies so far but will have 5 when I eat supper
banana
banana
mashed potatoes
mammoth corn on the cob
(will have) sandwich w/ ridiculous amounts of vegetables
3. Had 9 glasses of water so far
4. Had 4 fried chicken tenders :guilty:

Exercising Goals
1. Stayed on Walk/Run Program :)
Today was a W3/R1 10 times(40 minutes) with 5 warm up and cool down. Did an avg. pace of 17 minutes and 40 seconds per mile.
2. Stayed active all day
Did more laundry and decided today would be a good day to do something dangerous and difficult, so I cleaned out my closet :teeth: (I am actually still in the process).

Bible Study Goals
1. Did about 45 min of Bible Study today. Read Chapters 1-5 of Ecclesiastes and also did study on Romans 6:15-23.

I wish there was an icon for a turkey leg. I could really use one of those right about now. A turkey leg, not the icon :smooth:

Today was a bad food eating day. :guilty:

Eating Goals:
1. Ate within my points
but could have done without
the peice of raisin bread with apple butter
the sour gummi worms (about 18)
the 3 fried chicken tenders
the breadstick at POFOLKS(it was really a fried yeasty donut masquerading as a "breadstick")
the 2 onion rings from sonic
the pesto dip with my hamburger bun (but that fresh pesto dip was worth it :teeth: )
2. Had 5 fruits and veggies :)
carrots
corn
salad
tangerine
banana
3. Had only about 6 glasses of water :sad2:
4. Had 3 fried chicken tenders and 2 fried onion rings today.

Exercising Goals
1. Stayed on W/R program ;)
Today was a cross train for 30 min day. I did this on my bike. I have really got to get a pad or something for that seat b/c it is really starting to make my tailbone hurt :sad2: .
2. Stayed up and active less than half of the day.
Rode on my bootie to town for one hour. When I got to town, me and my sister sat on our booties and watched The Interpreter for two hours. Then we rode to various places and looked around, including WALMART and International Market(the place that sells the fresh made pesto), not to be confused with World Market. Then we rode back home on our booties for another hour. Then I did my bike ride and here we are.

Bible Study Goals
1. I did about 20 min of Bible Study this morning in Ecclesiastes. I haven't done any since I got home from town and will probably not do any before I go to sleep.

The bad eating days come and go. But you just have to keep focusing on the goal and realize that the bad days are much fewer than before.

Keep up the good work. I sure would like to try one of those masquerading breadsticks. :rotfl2: ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Yesterday's Goals

Eating Goals
1. I think I ate within my points range :sad2: (it depends on the pointage of the chocolate covered strawberries)
but could have done without
the peach cobbler at lunch (it wasn't even good, but I ate it anyway :confused3 )
the one swiss roll out of a two pack( if you have noticed all the swiss rolls lately, my dad was going to the dollar general the other day and I said hey dad would you get some swiss rolls while your gone, he said yes and then returns with 3 boxes of them  he was just trying to be nice but now I stare at them every time I go in the kitchen)
5 chocolate covered strawberries from a bakery (with real whipped cream, none of this cool whip stuff)
2. I drank 10 glasses of water yesterday. :flower:
3. Had 5 fruits and veggies :flower:
banana
veggies on 6 inch sub(counts as two)
lima beans
(chocolate covered) strawberries ;)
4. Had no fried food yesterday :cool1:

Exercising Goals
1. Stayed on Walk Run Program
Yesterday was my 5 mile long day doing the W4/R1 sequence. The track that I go on is only accurately measured to 1 and 1/8 of a mile and 3/4 of a mile so I ended up doing 5 and 1/4 miles. I did it all in one hour 28 minutes and 5 seconds.
2. Did not stay up and active most of the day yesterday. Stayed home and watched my brothers

Bible Study Goals
1. Did no bible study yesterday. No excuse why. I just didn't (It is easy for me to find other things to do, but I need to make time for my bible study) :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty:

Today's Goals

Eating Goals
1. Did not eat within my points range  because I ate
half of a loaded sweet potato(with caramel syrup, butter, and marshmallows)
yeast roll from texas road house with cinnamon butter
1/2 cup of some chicken casserole (with bread crumbs, mushrooms, cream of something soup, brocolli, and apples)
cinnamon twists from Taco Bell
2. Had 9 glasses of water today :sunny:
3. Only had 4 fruits and veggies :sad2:
banana
banana
veggies on two chicken soft tacos
sweet potato
4. Had cinnamon twists that I think are fried. :sad2:

Exercising Goals
1. Stayed on W/R Program
Today was a rest day. I rested until I ate that casserole. Then I went on a 10 minute bike ride. I know it probably didn't do anything, but it did help with the guilt. :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty:
2. Did not stay up an active all day long. Sat on my hiney most of the day.

Bible Study Goals
1. Have not done bible study yet today, but will do at least 20 min before I go to sleep.

lesli 54 that is good encouragement. You are right, the bad days do come, but they aren't nearly as often as they used to be. For me I used to would eat junk food all day long, but now even on my bad days, I don't eat near as much as I used to. Plus I exercise now (I used to wouldn't exercise b/c I didn't like to get sweaty, but now I love it) :teeth:
Thanks, that was really what I needed to hear. :cool1:

Don't worry too much about slip-ups, the fact that you get up every morning and try again is what's going to make you sucessful!

Isn't Sunday a great hiney-sitting day? I just seems right. Good job on using exercise to combat the feeling that you ate too much. Some people would have just given up then and stuck their head in the pantry--that was a very healthy way to cope for you!

Have a great Monday!

Yesterday's Goals

Eating Goals
1. Ate 1 point over my limit :guilty: (and the sad thing is, I just miscalculated when I was adding during the day; I didn't even realize it until I was looking at my food journal yesterday :sad2: )

2. Had 5 fruits and veggies ;)
banana
pineapple juice
salad
lima beans
veggies on chicken wrap
3. Had 8 glasses of water ;)
4. Ate no fried food ! Yay :cheer2:

Exercising Goals
1. Did not stay on W/R program.
I took my little brothers to a doctors appt. yesterday and it literally took all day, then I had to go here and there, across town, driving like a maniac, trying to get all my other business done around town before the places I needed to go to closed. It was a very stressing day. Then it was nearly 9 when we got home and my whole body was aching. I think it was b/c I was tense the whole day, trying to get all my business taken care of in time. Anyway, yesterday was a W3/R1 for 40 min day and I was too tired and achy to do it when I got home. NOTE: Remember next time to do your exercise before you go on an all day long excursion into town.
2. Stayed up an active most of the day
As I said, I did a lot of errands in town. :sad2: Oh yeah, and I almost forgot. I got up at 5:30 in the morning to go for a mile stroll yesterday with my sister. We didn't walk fast at all. But I was up and moving (which is a big deal, for me at 5:30 in the morning :teeth: ).

Bible Study Goals
1. Did no bible study.
I really need to get on the ball here. :guilty:

2. Did not stay up and active most of the day. There was a Gilmore Girls marathon on TV from 3 to 9. But I didn't "just" sit on my butt during that time. At one point I ran for 8 minutes without stopping (I didn't even feel like I was going to die either :teeth: , I could have gone further). I remember when I first started getting back in shape I felt like I was going to implode if I jogged longer than 30 seconds. It sure is crazy how your body can change like that.
2. Did not stay up and active the rest of the day. I feel really good for about 1 hour and a half when I come back from my long W/R's but then I start getting stiff and mopey. If anyone has suggestions about how I could combat this please share it with me.

Love your outlook on the Super Walmart. So true, so true! Personally, I think it takes way too long to shop there and you come out more tired than had you gone to 5 different stores.

It's so AWESOME that you were able to go down on your meds. :cool1: That is always good news. Isn't it amazing what weight loss and a better lifestyle can do for you?

You are doing great and it is so nice to see how much you have lost since starting your weight loss journey. What an inspiration!

It was a R3/W2 day for 50 min plus warmup and cool down. I completed 3.65 miles giving me a pace of about 16 min and 30 seconds per mile. This running for 3 minutes thing kind of took me by surprise. I was about to go out the door and do the usual W3R2 sequence but I went to check to book just to make sure. I stared at the book for about 5 minutes. I thought "this must be a typo". In the back of my mind I was remembering how difficult it was when I changed to running 1 min to 2 min. I was a little unsure. I got out there and did it anyway. And you know what, it wasn't so bad :cool1: . I hardly even noticed it. I guess the longer you run, the more your body gets used to it! Oh yeah, and this was the first time I went out on the streets downtown to do my running and walking. It was lots of fun and the time seemed to pass by a lot faster. I don't know if I will ever use my TM again.

Hey I haven't posted for Tuesday or today yet but I don't feel like it so I'm gonna wait until I do.

This weekend is the real deal. It is the end of the Marathoning for Mortal Walk/Run Half Marathon training program. I am supposed to do 13.1 miles this Sunday and I am scared to death :scared1: . I am not actually going to be in a race but I will be doing the distance and someone else is going to time me and have water for me and all. The whole long distance thing hasn't scared me up until now. I did 6 then 8 then 10 miles without even giving it a thought, but 13.1 seems like so much more. I keep having these doubts. It's like there are little voices saying things like "You don't actually think you can do this do you?" or "Z, what the heck were you thinking when you got yourself into this?". I'm just feeling very unsure about the whole situation. This morning when I weighed I was feeling pretty good b/c I am down to 202, however the rest of the day I have let myself sit and stew about this weekend (i.e. what if i can't finish, what if i am too slow, what if i give up :scared1: ). Well I'm pretty much freakin out :scared: right now so if anyone has anything to say that might be of some help please tell me. I feel like I am losing my mind!

The anticipation of doing a certain milage is generally worse than actually doing it. If you don't make the distance or the time, you can always try again. You are not a failure if you don't finish. You had the courage to start. :cheer2: :cheer2:

I am already second guessing why I signed up for the Jan half. I figured it would be incentive to walk, which would in turn take some of the pounds off. I fille i can do the distance but currently will come nowhere near the required time. I will just keep trying to get faster.

Position your water support at given spots and think to yourself, I only have to go x miles or whatever, when you get to that point, move onto the second water stop and do the same. Break the distance up into smaller distances and focus on the breaks for water not the entire 13.1 miles.

Hope you have some cooler temps to do the milage.

When you finish, you will hopefully say to yourself "What was the big deal"

Good luck on you 1/2 and try not to get too stressed.

Lesli54
06-29-2005, 10:51 PM
Of course, I have something to say............"You're gonna do GREAT!" :cheer2:  :cheer2: Just think, you have done smaller marathons before and so you have an idea of what to expect and how to pace yourself. Not to mention that you probably had more weight on (unless that was pre-weight gain). I would think that it would be easier to do the marathon this weekend with less of you to carry around.

Not to mention, that it is wonderful exercise and just think, maybe this weekend we can hit ONEDERLAND together! Wouldn't that put the icing on the cake (just don't eat it ;) )of your marathon accomplishment?

I think you should go for it. What do you have to lose? Nothing but a few lbs. If you find that you cannot make the entire distance, then you know that you can stop with the full knowledge that you tried. You won't be a quitter if you give it your best, but you will be a quitter if you don't try.

Just put on the headphones and go.

Today, in the paper, I saw that our town is doing a 1 and 2 mile walk in September and I am considering doing that. We will see.

Have a great evening and don't worry. Remember you said that when you got to 204 you knew you could do anything. So go tackle that challenge this weekend. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Thanks for the encouragement ladies! I think I was just in a funk yesterday. I really was freakin out. But today I am better. I am not as stressed. Whatever happens, happens. I prepared myself just how the program said. I can only do MY best. :cheer2:

Nycpa, thanks for the tip about breaking it up into smaller parts. I think I will break it up into 3 mile increments (you know 3,6,9,12,finish). Your comment made me remember a part in the Marathoning for Mortals book (i think that was the one) where someone was racing alongside another. One turned to the other and said, "So and So, how do you eat an elephant?". So and so said "I don't know, how?". The other said "One bite at a time." :teeth:

Lesli, thanks for reminding me that I said I felt like I could do anything when I got to 204. I had forgotten. It is so easy to forget our accomplishments and small victories and replace them with doubts. :flower:

Zela - great job on the food choices. Don't beat yourself up over the nutter butter patty cookies. Think of them as additional protein. Also depriving yourself of onething can lead to binging on something else because you feel deprived.

Thanks for the kind words in my journal. Yes I know what a colonoscopy is. That is the next step. The prelim appt will be set up for 2 weeks when I am back in town for the week. When the doctor suggested it back in Nov I ignored her. She suggested it then because I am over 50. It seems your body falls apart when you hit 50. I have had different drs tell me when they recommend some new test or procedure why I never needed it before. Their response is usually "you have never been 50 before."

Here I am posting my last post before I do 13.1 miles. I have to go to bed at 5:30 b/c I am going to start at 3AM :bitelip: so I can beat the heat, if you know what I mean. Even starting then, I am still going to be in the heat for an hour and a half. I will be well rested if I can get to sleep. I tried to "carb load" a little bit for the past two days. I normally don't eat a lot of bread or pasta, but yesterday I had the fettucini alfredo and breadsticks and today I had a total of a foot long honey oat sub from subway and a leftover breadstick. I will hydrate myself with water and strawberry gatorade (yum!). I think it will all work out. I hope everything goes as planned. If it doesn't, it's not that big of a deal. There is always next time :teeth: .

Looking forward to hearing how the marathon turns out. Great job on going for a smaller portion at the Olive Garden. I will never understand why restaurants won't allow you to get a kids portion. You are still spending the money and it didn't cost them any extra. :confused3

Good luck! :banana: ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Hey everyone!

This is post is about the half marathon distance I ran this morning.
Well, I got up at 1:45AM to eat breakfast, put on sunblock, and grab all the things I was going to need (water, gatorade, cups, my stopwatch, an extra pair of tennis shoes and socks, small flashlight, and my sunglasses just in case it got really bright). My dad said to just wake him at a quarter till 3 and he would be ready (Isn't my dad the best the get up at 3 in the morning on Sunday, his only day off from work, to come and hand me cups of water and gatorade and time me. I love my daddy! :love2: ). So I got my dad up and off we went. We went to the Tom Thumb so dad could get some coffee, so he could stay awake, and to get batteries for my flashlight. I had wanted to start at three but we were about 3:15 getting to the park. It was so dark when I got there. My flashlight came in very handy (I didn't want to step on a snake or anything else living :scared1: ). It was cool out (there was even a little breeze at times :teeth: ) while it was still dark. When the sun rose it was a different story. The sun rose about 5:30 and it got hot :sunny: quick with no breeze. I drank only water every lap up until about an hour and a half into it, then, I started to alternate getting water and gatorade one lap and just water the next. I always slowed down to drink my fluids so I wouldn't just cover myself with them. The figure 8 at the park is 1.25 miles and the regular loop is close to 1 mile. Total I did 10 laps on the figure 8 part and 1 of the regular loops.
Total distance was approximately 13.5 miles  .
I finished in 3 hours 22 minutes and 56.1 seconds   .
That is nearly a pace of 15 minutes per mile    . Oh yeah! :cheer2: :cheer2:  :cheer2: :cheer2:

I am very proud of myself to know that my body, imperfect as it may be, can carry me 13.5 miles without dying! :rotfl2:

So that catches up my food journal.

I may not be posting for a while. We are in the projected path of Hurricane Dennis and if it is as bad as Ivan we will probably be without power for a couple of weeks :sad2: . We live about 60 miles North of Pensacola Beach and we'll probably get it pretty bad if the hurricane strengthens. I hope it just kind of fizzles out. Last year in September we had to deal with Ivan and things are just now getting back to normal (some are just now getting there houses completely fixed). My dad had some guys working on some roofs for him this past week and they just got finished. Yesterday, he had a man come and replace some shingles on our house that blew off in Ivan :rotfl2: (its gonna be kind of pointless if this stupid hurricane blows them off again on Sunday). It would just pureinteen SUCK (I don't use this word lightly) if this hurricane was as bad as Ivan.

If you have ever seen My Neighbor Totoro there is a time where May, the little girl says, "Leave dust bunnies, go away right now!"

Well, I'm saying "Leave us alone Dennis, GO AWAY RIGHT NOW!"

Dennis sucked! :sad2:

Well on Sunday we supposedly got the eyewall of Dennis. I know the winds got pretty bad and we lost power about 4:00PM on Sunday. The storm peaked about 4:30 if I remember correctly. We didn't have any major damages around our homes. However, a man that lived across from our airplane hangar up the rode called to tell my dad and grandad that he thought it had gotten blowed down. They went out while the storm was still pretty bad just to see and sure nuf' it was leveled. It was very sad :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: . They had a Great Lakes Biplane that my dad had rebuilt, a Warrior that my grandad had bought 30 yrs ago , A Balanca, and a Starduster II. The Biplane had been picked up and flipped upside down, crushing the top wing and the tail  . The Warrior had been flipped upside down also, was covered in the concrete block walls that had collapsed and looked like someone had taken the tail and twisted it all the way around, 360 degrees  . The other 2 airplanes also had concrete blocks and metal beams on them :( . I told my dad that I would try to help them anyway that I could to clean up and so I helped them cleanup on Monday. Anyway, that night, I went and stayed with my sister and her little baby and husband. We played scrabble by candlelight (it was fun, but the novelty of this activity wore off pretty quick).

I got up at 5 on Monday so I would be ready at daylight to help my dad. We got over there and it was one of the worst things I have ever seen. It made me so sad    , but I can just imagine how my dad and grandad felt (these were there babies). I had so many memories in those planes especially the Biplane and the Balanca. When I was little we used to go to fly-ins and airshows. We always had so much fun, but now we can't fly anywhere  (not until they get them rebuilt anyway). To make matters worse, we heard that a film crew had gone on our property. Several hours after that we heard that the footage of the airport had been aired on GOOD MORNING AMERICA! It was so frapping annoying :faint: . After the initial shock wore off I went to it. I threw concrete blocks off of the warriors wings and part of its tail and moved various other piles of debris. I also helped them flip the biplane back over. They got most of it cleaned up on Monday but they did work some Tuesday and today out there. I tried to sleep Monday night but I didn't get very far with that plan. It was too hot  . I didn't sleep well at all!

I woke up Tuesday morning like it was Monday night. I was in no way refreshed. I didn't so much mind the heat as much as I minded not having light. I like light. It is my friend. I get ticked off and irritable when I don't have light. Anyway, enough ranting, Tuesday I did some cleaning and damage control in the kitchen (it's not like a tree fell through the roof or anything but the dishes don't get done unless the dishwasher works, so as you can imagine, grossness ensued). I also did my xtraining even though we did not have power. I went to stay with my sister that lives in Castleberry (not the one I mentioned before) because I wanted to talk with her (and she had power :teeth: ). I went to her house about 5PM and my mom called at 9PM to tell me that the power was back on :cool1: , so I decided to come on back home. I got home and I sat there thinking how nice it was to have light, an air conditioner, and a working refridgerator (oh yeah, and a working dishwasher  ).

Today has been just a normal day (thank the Lord). I heard that there is another hurrican headed our way and I am annoyed  . Throughout this whole ordeal, there have been some good things:

1. The guy wearing the sunglasses and the sexy army uniform that gave us ice on Monday.
2. The guy wearing the sunglasses and the sexy army uniform that gave us ice on Tuesday.
3. The guy wearing the sunglasses and the sexy army uniform (sans the long sleeved jacket, just the tan colored shirt :earseek: ) that I saw when I went to get ice for someone else today.

Sorry to hear about the hurricane damage. I can't even imagine what you and your folks are feeling. I know what it is like to be without electricity for an extednded time. When we lose our power we have no water either. The wonders of living in an area with wells and septic systems.

Hope your dad and grandad are able to restore the planes. Sending :wizard::wizard: your way to make you feel better.

I am sorry to hear that Dennis did damage that directly affected your area and your family. At least your family seems to know how to come together and get done what has to be done to get back to some sense of normalcy. I am sure that the news guys were frustrating, it is always better when they film someone else's lives.

Hopefully, the next storm won't affect you and hopefully, it won't take your dad and grandpa long to rebuild the planes. It's nice that they have such a wonderful hobby. I have never flown in a small plane, but have always wanted to.

As far as the sunglasses wearing army guy.............go strike up a conversation. You're cute and in ONEDERLAND, so WONDERS may happen. ;)

Well we got all the debris moved from the airplane hangar. They moved all the planes home to our shop. I hope Hurricane Emily doesn't come our way :sad2: .

Hey Lesli, I think the army guys have moved on. They were from another state I believe. It doesn't matter anyway though, b/c I have always been to shy to just go up and talk to a guy. Oh and by the way, you have just compelled me to share my brief yet amusing history with guys.

I have only been on one date in my entire life :teeth: . It was my first year of college and I had just turned 17. Let's call the guy I went out with Bob. Now keep in mind as you read this that this was my FIRST and ONLY date. Numero uno. I didn't really know what to expect but I figured nice food, acceptable movie, nice drive home and maybe even a goodnight kiss if he was lucky. WRONG! We left and were going to get dinner first. We had previously discussed going to olive garden. On the way there, Bob turns to me and says so where did you want to eat. I said "You know, we had talked about olive garden, but whatever is fine with me if you want to change". BAD MISTAKE! So he takes us to Golden Corral (which is fine if you are having a family outing but on a date, Come on) which his mom conveniently owns so that we can eat free food. Also, this golden corral never plays radio stations it plays instrumental stuff but what do you know Savage Gardens I Knew I Loved You Before I Met You is playing over the stereo (which his mom has control over) before we even sit down. By this time I am a little ticked b/c this is not how I pictured my first date. So I gave him the benefit of the doubt and appreciated his frugality(for about a tenth of a second).

Then it was on to the movie. It was in January so it was cold. We got over to the theaters and waited in line for about 30 min (keep in mind that we were supposed to see Kate and Leopold). We got up to the window and CheapO over here gives the ticket dude free coupons for the movie. The dude at the window refused them saying that they were expired. I expected him to just pay since they were expired (which could have been an honest mistake). He turns and tells me that he has NO MONEY  . He's on a date and he has no money. He is a freakin' idiot! Then he says he wants to go back to golden corral and ask his MOMMY what to do. I am still trying to be patient so I go with him back there. His mom gives us instructions on who we need to talk to to get us in free at the movies. She knew a manager at the theaters or something. We go back to the theaters and the guy that could get us in free had already went home. So just then, Bob spots some girls that he saw at a concert the night before. They say they are seeing Black Hawk Down and that they can get us movie tickets for free (at the time I didn't watch R rated movies b/c I wasn't mature enough, I don't even think I'm mature enough for some of them now). Bob asks me if we want to see it with them. This wouldn't be a problem if No.1 we hadn't already discussed in detail how I didn't want to watch an r rated fim with him and No.2 WE WERE ON A DATE. So I am pretty frappin mad at this point. I am just thinking watch the movie, ride home, it will all be over soon. Then came the worst part. Bob is still talking to these girls and one of them says "Hey Bob we don't have a ride home, would you give us a ride home". He doesn't miss a beat, and doesn't even look at me. Without hesitation he says "SURE". This is where it all fell to peices and I went off on him in the theater lobby. I kicked out of harness and went to tellin him "I THOUGHT WE WERE ON A DATE, YOU ARE AN IDIOT, HOW COULD YOU TELL THOSE GIRLS YOU WOULD BRING THEM HOME, YOU KNEW HOW I FELT ABOUT THE MOVIE SITUATION". Then I started crying and said "I don't give a crap what you do, but I am goin to watch Kate and Leopold and then I am going to call my sister to come and get me, so leave me alone". Then he turned all apologetic and was saying "No I'm sorry. What did I do?(Can you imagine someone this stupid?) Please don't call your sister b/c she will be so mad at me (and I was thinking you should be more worried about what I will do to you)." He then proceeded to follow me into the theaters and bug me during the movie. After the movie was over I was going to call my sister but I didn't want to bother her b/c it was late. I told Bob that I wanted him to take me straight home and to shut up and leave me alone. He brought me home but he didn't comprehend the shutup and leave me alone concept b/c I had to dodge his phone calls until my last year of college.

So there it is. It was a very traumatic experience. It's kind of funny :rotfl2: when I think about it now, but at the time I was distraught.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That was really good. I guess he was so stupid that he didn't even know it.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I am really, really sorry that your first date didn't go better. Not all first dates go well, but that one takes the cake. Glad you went off on him! I had a blind date once (not usually good, but I have had one good blind date, that was w/ my DH  ). Anyway, I meet this guy at the mall (predetermined meeting place) and we were supposed to go out to eat and then play it by ear. Like you, I am thinking something nice. Well, I knew it was downhill when I saw him. :sad2: This was in the 90's, but the guy has a huge Impala, and is wearing a wing collared shirt open too far, wearing gold chains, and has a few gold rings on. Supposedly he owns alot of real estate. Yeah, maybe in the sections of town that I didn't want to venture into. I am thinking, "great, someone who hasn't learned that the 70's was 20 years ago". But, I thought it is one date, I will be nice and then never see him again.

He had no place in mind to eat and we drove and drove past alot of places. I quickly realized that we were not going to any nice place. Finally, he gets to the last restaurant on the strip and says, "well, I guess we ran out of places to eat, so we will stop here". It was your average mom and pop family restaurant. You know the kind that still display pies in the round cooler up front, vinyl covered booths, and hasn't had a face lift since the 70's. Hmmmmmmmm. Maybe his momma worked there. ;) I certainly was not expecting eggs and hashbrowns for dinner.

Anyway, the conversation was nil. Everytime he asked a question, I had a dead end answer. Partly because of the way he asked and partly on purpose. After dinner, he drove me back to the mall in silence. When we got there, he said that he didn't think things would go farther, dropped me off and pulled away. Trust me, I didn't want them to go farther. The date lasted less than 1 hr. and still that was too long. :sad2:

Some dates work and some don't. I am sure that your bad date for life is now out of the way, so there should be some good ones heading your way. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Has anyone else seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?

I saw it today with my little brothers. I thought it was the best movie ever! Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors anyways but he had such a weird/fun/genius character this go round. I really liked it. It was the same basic story line as the older movie but it was completely different and it had a much darker tone. One of the funniest parts to me was when they were in the room where everything was made of candy and he said "Everything in this room is edible, Even I am edible, dear children, but this is called cannibalism and is frowned upon in most societies."
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Lesli- Hilarious date story. I can just imagine from your desciption what that guy looked like! :rotfl2:

Goldcupmom-I did the Walk/Run Program for a half marathon that was in the back of the book Marathoning for Mortals by John Bingham. It's a really good book. I would also suggest reading his books The Courage to Start and No Need for Speed. I got mine on Amazon for fairly cheap. I started out with the Courage to Start. It is a good motivating book! :cheer2:

WTG on the Krispy Kremes. Those are sooooo hard to resist and therefore the reason why I haven't bought any in months and months and months.

I didn't know if I wanted to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, since most remakes are not near as good, but I do love Johnny Dep. Glad to hear that it is worth seeing.

Have a great and losing day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

WHHHAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

My sister (that's pregnant) just called about an hour ago to tell me that we are no longer going on our trip to DW the week of August 22. It has to do with some general health issues along with her pregnancy. I, of course, support her decision b/c I don't want her or the baby to suffer in any way. I also do not blame her. However, it is very sad! I was okay at first. Then I started thinking about all the things we aren't going to get to do anymore. We won't get to eat at all the places we made PS for (Le Cellier, San Angel Inn, the alfredo one, Kona Cafe) . We won't get to watch fireworks  . I was gonna get her one of the Guest of Honor badges for her bday and give it to her while we were there , but I guess that would not be very important anymore  . I was planning on having a planned cheat week where I could eat whatever I wanted while we were there (we got the free dining plan) . We had already planned where we would go each day, the things we would do  . All these things combined really started to stress me. First I had an bad urge to eat everything. Then I thought, maybe if I buy some clothes I'll feel better. That plan quickly dimished when I realized I didn't have the money to spend on that right now. I headed to the kitchen and I ate a breadstick leftover from lunch today. I went for a second breadstick and quickly put it back realizing what I was doing. I called one of my friends to see if she wanted to go on a bike ride with me to blow off some steam but she was out of town. :confused3 I was thinking about eating again, when I thought of the DIS. That's why I am here talking about this. I am just sad that it worked out like this. I was so looking forward to this trip.

After I ordered the kid's meals for the boys, I politely asked the lady behind the counter if she could just throw me some of the lettuce they put on the burgers in a bowl and charge me like 4 dollars for it. She asked around and they were more that happy to accomodate me. They even asked if I wanted tomatoes, onions, or pickles on it. They had it heaped on a plate and asked if I was gonna eat it plain b/c if I didn't want to she said there was some ranch in the refridgerator in the back (I'm guessing the employee refridgerator). So nice! I like it when people help me! :grouphug:
2. Did not stay up and active most of the day. Drove a ways to and from the zoo.

Your condolences were greatly appreciated regarding the cancellation of the DW trip (kathy, chris, lajones81, lillygator) :grouphug:

So.....both my trips in August have been cancelled. The October trip.....cancelled. Now I guess I can focus all my energy on the half marathon trip to DW in January :cheer2: . It seems like I've got a lot of time before it gets here, but looking at the calendar it's a little more real feeling. It will be here before I know it. Its kinda scary. :earseek:

Hi, Z! :flower:

Just catching up on your journal. Boy, am I way behind on journals. Sorry to hear about the WDW trips getting cancelled, but it is all understandable and you are right, training for January can take center stage as it will be here soon.

I am sure you will miss your brother, but everyone has to strike out on their own sooner or later. My DD18 goes to school next week.

Great job on handling the food at the zoo. I will have to remember that when I am stuck on food choices. Bet you had fun trying on clothes and finding some great fits. I must admit that clothes shopping is getting to be alot more fun.

Have a great day and keep up the good work. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I had a really weird/fun dream last night.
I was going to Orlando with my grandmother and a guy I knew from college (let's call him J). We got down there and were dropping him off. We took his luggage up to his room for him. He was staying in the Contemporary Tower on the 14th floor and he had a Cinderella's Castle view :earseek: . It was an amazing view! I tried to act all friendly :love2: to get him to invite me to stay with him. Well, he wanted to stay alone so I bit the bullet and went back to the parking lot to meet up with my grandmother. Just then, J called me on the cell phone and agreed to let my stay with him :teeth: . He said we'd need to get married but if it didn't work out, no problem, we would just get divorced :rotfl2: ! I agreed and we went all over disney world and rode all my favorite rides like the mountains and rock'n rollercoaster. At the end of the day, we went back to the hotel and watched the fireworks from the room. It was a really awesome trip. If only, it had been REAL! :rotfl:

Keep up the great work Z. It is good to take a rest if your body isn't up to par for exercising. My knee was feeling strange when I was at Six Flags, I pulled a muscle or something the night before and the drive up and back just made it stiffer. Much better know.

Today was weigh day. I only lost a half a pound this week. It's good to lose anything, I know but in order to get to my goal by my bday (in my siggy) I must kick it up a notch. I need to lose the 1.5 pounds more that I expected to lose this week and the 2 pounds for next week for next Wednesday. That is a total of 3.5 pounds in 7 days. Here is my plan of attack for the next week :cool1: (got this idea from Tigercheer's journal).

1. I will get at least 12 cups of water per day
2. I will eat b/t 22-25 pts on WW .
3. I will not eat fried foods at all.
4. I will only eat approved sweet snacks which include: 100 cal packs, sugar free fat free pudding, light yogurt and cool whip free.
5. I will not eat any fruits or veggies that are not fresh.
6. I will eat at least 9 fresh fruits and veggies a day (juice does not count).
7. I will not have carbonated/caffeinated drinks at all, not even diet ones (unless there is an extenuating circumstance, ex: If I am at a party and the only options are red velvet cake and diet soda I am allowed one cup of diet soda to substitute for the cake :teeth: )
8. I will formally exercise everyday for at least 30 minutes (Shopping, cleaning, or other normal things will not count)
9. I will weigh every day to check my progress

Hey Guys,
I don't know if anyone is still looking at my journal at all. I haven't posted in forever. I will sum up what has happened.

1. The plan of attack did not work
2. I went head to head with a red velvet cake (the red velvet cake won :earseek: ). The following week I was tackled by a coconut cake.
4. I fell off the exercise wagon as well as the points system€
6. I came back to reality  this week and now am facing the challenge of starting the 14 wk program for the half marathon and making healthy food decisions so that I will feel like exercising. :scared1:

Fortunately I haven't messed up too bad. Last Wednesday when I weighed, I had gained 3.5 pounds from the previous week. This Wednesday I weighed the same and I am not complaining (186.5). At least I didn't gain any :cool1: . I will not change my tickers again until I get down to 180. This journal will no longer be as extensive as it used to be, nor as organized. I don't have as much time to spend with it as I had before.

Monday:
I did my 35 minute Run/Walk 3/2 (45 minutes with warmup and cool down) plus 11 minutes 20 seconds to finish walking around the track. In 56 minutes 20 seconds I did 3.75 miles (avg 15.01 minutes per mile pace)
Food was just okay. Almost stayed within my points range. :flower:

Tuesday:
I did 30 minutes of xtraining on the bicycle. I stayed within my points range until my dad offered me the rest of his country fried steak at 9:30PM. :guilty:

Wednesday:
It was a rest day. I went job hunting in Mobile. I'm thinking about moving back there. I didn't make any bad food decisions because I took extra precautions that morning to pack healthy snacks. I ate :

Banana
Crispix with a little bit of milk
Banana
light string cheese
cashews
light string cheese
wheat thins
fruit bowl with yogurt from Wendy's

I got about 4-5 fruits and veggies. I got 3 servings of calcium. I also drank about 12 or 14 cups of water.
Thurday (Today):
I am supposed to run today, same as Monday and I will try to make good food choices.

Exercise Goals
1. Did no formal exercise today but walked around with the consumers at the mall for about 25 minutes. I guess that counts :Pinkbounc
2. Did not stay up and active most of the day. Our van transportation for the consumers for day treatment quit so now I have to go pick everyone up from the group homes around west mobile before class and bring them home. Same for the afternoon group.

I don't remember if I put in here about my job. I work at Mobile Mental Health. I am a behavioral specialist (everybody say OOOOOOOOO). It means I do classes for and take consumers on outings during day treatment(the morning program) and RDP(the afternoon program). I loved it when I first started  back when we were fully staffed. Now I feel like I'm going crazy  because it's just me and the Therapist. There is supposed to be a Therapist plus three workers (pref. two Behavioral Aides and a Behavioral Specialist). Somewhere in there I am supposed to do my paperwork :lmao: :rotfl: :happytv: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: . But I digress.......... I guess I just need to focus on PROGRESS not PERFECTION........

So far today I have had 2 cups of watermelon and about 20 baked lays. I plan to have a chicken fried rice banquet meal for lunch. It only has 7 grams of fat. I also plan to have about 2 more cups of watermelon for a snack this afternoon and maybe a turkey sandwich and a banana for supper. Today was a long day at work. I tried to eat healthy most of the day because I knew I was getting pizza tonight. The pizza is coming at 8:15 and today I have eaten:
1pc whole wheat light sara lee bread .5
1 fruit and yogurt parfait 3
2 oreo cookies 2 :teeth:
1c strawberries 1
1c pineapple 1
5 bbq pringles 1 :guilty:
2pc whole wheat light sara lee bread 1
1 small pc jack links terriyaki beef jerky .5 popcorn::

I know I won't be completely on point for tonight, but my plan is to eat 2 slices pan ham and 2-4 hot wings. If I stop after the pizza I will be on point, but I do want some hot wings to. Maybe there is some lettuce in the fridge. If there is I'll make sure to get some to eat along with my pizza. I wonder if I am ambitious enough to eat only one slice of pizza and lots of lettuce and then a few hot wings. Anyway, I'll write back and report what I did.

At least you went in with a plan for the pizza last night. Give it a few more tries and I think that you will be successful. I know that I had gotten down to eating a salad and a couple of slices pizza at the PH buffet, so with some more experimentation, you can do it. :cheer2:

Good luck with the family and food today. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

PS - I agree, the kiss sounds romantic. ;)

Today I ate:
1pt-2 slices light whole wheat sara lee bread w/spray butter
.25pts-1 bbq pringle
1pt-1 sugar free oreo like cookie
15pts-cracker barrel
grilled catfish filet
2 helpings baby carrots
1 helping string beans
1.5 biscuits with promise butter and a little blackberry jam
3pts-ice cream cone from mcdonalds
8pts-creme frappaccino (tall) from starbucks with whip
1pt-1 fig newton

I know....I ate a lot of junk :confused3
I didn't have near enough water. Me and my sister walked around shopping for about 4 hours. I counted 2 hours as exercise. Plus, most of the time I was holding my Sir Chubbs-n-stuff(a.k.a. my nephew) most of the time so that counts for weight training. :joker:

Sounds like you had a fun day, Z. At least you were active and thankfully, family gatherings don't happen every day.

Here's hoping you get in all your water today. :wizard: ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Lesli- I got halfway on my water so far. That's progress from yesterday! And I will probably end up drinking the rest before I go to bed. :woohoo: Thanks for the encouragement. :teeth:

Pass the Nutella, please! :rotfl2: Isn't that stuff just wonderful? Dangerous, but so delicious.

Unfortunately, navigating restaurants can be tricky at best, but you just have to know that it is over and move on. Make some better plans for next time and you will be ahead of the game.

I hope that your holiday is a good one. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

It is nice to see that you got your water and exercise in, plus were able to eat within reason. Boy it sure looks like a lot of food though when you list it all at once doesn't it?

Keep up the AWESOME work! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Whew.... Its been a long couple of days :surfweb: . I won't even try to begin to recount what I have eaten in the past few days. My eating choices were reasonable and I got most of my water on most days. Yesterday, I went to my sis's baby shower and had 1.5 small pcs cake and then 3 of the petit fors that I made. I didn't completely blow it b/c I ate a turkey sandwich for supper. Anyway I'll start back over with today.

For breakfast:
5-1 mickey waffle (1/4 c pioneer buttermilk baking mix, 1 egg, little bit of diet lemon lime soda) :stir:
2-2 slices gwaltney center cut bacon, fried :cheer2:
2-1/2 c simply shredded potatoes hash browns with 1 Tblsp olive oil added.

Plan for lunch:
either 1c frozen chicken stir fry or a bbq sandwich with whole wheat light bread and maybe some yams.
Plan for snack:
maybe some watermelon or some cereal (hmmmm wander where I got that idea from :grouphug: )
Plan for supper:
I don't really know but I'll try to make it sensible.

Anyway...........moving forward

Today I had
3-1c chicken stir fry
2-1 egg roll
2-1 fun size 3 musketeer
1-1 grape hug drink
4-1 banqet turkey meal

Hi Z!

Don't worry too much about the slip ups, you are still doing great! I think it is great that you try to use less points than you are alloted. At least that way, if you do stumble, you should still be good to go.

Here's to a wonderful week ahead. pixiedust: ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Happy Birthday, Z! :bday: party:

When stress is high, just try to find a few minutes for yourself so that you can keep your sanity and not find all the goodies in the fridge. Try a walk or a long relaxing bath. We will be here when you post again. In the meantime, here is a little pixiedust: to help you make it through the day. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo
