I read everyones posts regarding National and EA and I cannot seem to get the same deals. We are Disney Club members, I have the application for EA but do not have enough time to send it before we go, which is September.

I have a rate with the DC coupons for 155 for a 4 day rental, incl tax. Does this sound right? Everyone else it getting better for a longer period.....Should I book for a week?

Should I go to my local National counter and get the membership and book again?

Tips please! We are DVC members and have another trip planned for May 2002 and need a good rate then also.

Help!!

I'll bet it's because of the 4-day rental period. The weekly rates always seem so much better. On my December rental the base rate is $124/wk but something like $21 for each additional day.

Also, is your trip over a weekend so you can take advantage of the 'Free day' coupon?

You can take the application to your local National Counter and get the Emerald Club card right there.

Thanks for the replies. However the best daily rate I am getting is $48 a day. Is there anything else I may be doing wrong?

I don't know when your travel dates are, but keep checking your rates on the National website. They often drop when you get close to your arrival day. If you do get a cheaper rate, make a new reservation then cancel your old one. If you modify an existing ressie the rate will not drop.

I'm having similar poor luck on an 11/29 - 12/3 rental. It's going at a base rate of about $43 per day; with DC and coupon I only got it down to about $135. I had the exact same time period (a Thursday - Monday) earlier in November for about $95 but then I couldn't get the resort I wanted.

I'll just keep trying and maybe the price will come down as the dates get closer. When is your first trip?

What kind of car are you trying to get? Most people here are using the disney club discount as well. It is supposed to give you 10% off but is actually giving 20% most of the time.

When are your dates in September? we have a 4124 weekly base rate, which without the discount & coupon would probably be about $155 when all the taxes & fees are added.

I'm not sure what happens if you reserve for 5 days & return early. 5 days is considered to be a weekly rental.

It worked! I just got a base rate of 98 for the week and then 127.50 with the taxes. I will be there until the 3rd and will just take myself to the airport!!! My husband leaves the 30th and I was going to return the car when my conference started, but now I don't have to!

Thanks for the help!
