Wow - your dress is a similar style to mine - and the night gown is gorgeous too - I take it that's an evening ball gown rather than the one your going to sleep in - which is the english definition of nightgown!

Can't work out how to put in pictures so here's a link to mine - it's dress number 01 and you can click on it for a close up: http://www.carismalimited.co.uk/weddings/bridal-designers-maggiesottero-montage.html

Ooo I love looking at these dresses and it's so odd how many are similar to mine as I've never seen a dress like it before - but it reminded me of the ball gowns worn in all the classic Disney romances :0)

I haven't even gone dress shopping yet (that's this summer's task!) but these are the styles that I like and know will look right on me.

As much as I love the princess style and think it would go well with getting married at Disney, I am only 5'2 on a good day and very tiny, so I think I would get lost in it! Plus, we were originally planning on a Mexico wedding, so I fell in love with the beachy style. I love seeing everyone's dresses!! :teeth:

We seem to have the same physique and I thought the same way you did until I went shopping for my dress...and then I picked one of each and couldn't decide so I had my DH2B pick which one he liked better. I was VERY surprised when he picked the giant poofy dress over the more slinky revealing style. I loved both so I was glad that he got to pick which he liked better:) I don't feel lost at all...just a bit dramatic!

Here's mine! It's definitely princessy...I'm 5'6" and alot of the princessy dresses at David's were too short for me, so they might work for you...I'm on the lanky side, so I figured they'd put me in more of what you're looking at Tinkerbelle, but they went with it when I said I wanted poufy...and I loved nearly all of the poufy ones, except the ones that were too short because they made me look like the tooth fairy.

I'm not a Disney Bride, (we did get married in Orlando in 2002), but when I was beginning my dress shopping, I looked at the exact same dress!!! Our original plan was to get married in Las Vegas at the Venetian and this dress seemes to be PERFECT for it! But when I tried it on, alas, it didn't look quite right on me. :( I had DH look at me in it and while we both loved the dress, it just didn't look quite right. We both ended up really liking the slim style dresses instead. My mom made my dress for me in the end, but it was similar to those beachy style ones that Tinkerbelle14 posted. But I wanted a train of some kind, so my mom made one that attached to the back of my dress and it was purple! Let me see if I can find a decent picture of the ones I have online...

We do plan to renew our vows in an actual FTW. Most likely, it'll be an intimate ceremony, but I think we're shooting for our 5 year anniversary for it, so that would put us in 2007. I do plan to buy another dress for it, just not sure what one! I want a princess-y looking one though. I want those pictures in front of Cinderella's castle...lol...intimate brides can still have those, right? :)

I cant believe that I bought my dress today!!! I only went to TRY ON some dresses. The first one I tried on I fell in love with! Its very different from the one I had in mind..I wanted a Maggie dress...white, thin straps, small train, lots of beading. I wish I could add a photo here of the one Ive bought but I cant find one yet. Its a Ginnis dress, a pale ivory with cranberry beading and strapless with a long train. Im not the slimmest of people but I cant believe how slimming this dress is! As soon as I get a photo I'll add it.

I was looking for a dress just like the top one - as we're getting married at sunset pointe I wanted casual and beachy and slinky, I tried the slinky dresses on though and becuase I'm quite slim they looked awful - so I ended up with a puff ball! It's odd that you set your mind on something and get completely the opposite :0)

I hope my DH2B will like it - he's not seeing it until I appear at the bottom of the aisle...

Tall and lanky suits poufy dresses - or so they told me! :0) I love your dress (still am AMAZED at those prices for David's Bridal, you get so much for the money and they look so much more expensive, wish they shipped to the UK) Your tiara is beautiful too, which reminds me mine arrived in the post last week and I've still not opened it!!!

thanks! my mom had wanted to make the dress for my first wedding, but after pricing it all out, for what i wanted, it ended up being cheaper and easier to just buy one. but this wedding was done on an extreme budget and i just couldn't fathom spending very much on a dress, even though i really wanted to! i tried on a bridesmaid dress somewhere that was similar to what i was looking for and then we found a pattern to match. my dress cost us roughly about $50 total! our entire wedding/honeymoon cost us about $2500 and it was perfect for us! :) DH wore a suit he already owned...i made my bouquet...we also made our own unity candle!

i think that when we do our vow renewal, eventually (lol), i want to go and buy a new gown. something frilly!! :)

All I can say is WOW and I just wish that I could have THAT dress! What designer is it?

Thanks! :flower:

It's by Justin Alexander (http://www.justinalexanderbridal.com/). The one bad thing about it is it's kind of pricey (About $1500 - $2000). And by the time I'm ready to purchase it, I don't think it will be available anymore (I won't be able to buy my dress until the end of next year). So I'm more than likely just going to have it made. I've already been looking at dresses for a year now, and there have been other dresses I've loved, but none have made my heart skip like this one (Aw, just like my DH2B). :p

I'm sure I've said this before but it's so wierd how a lot of the dresses are similar to mine, with the whole poufy skirt thing going on - I'd never seen a dress like it until this tread - all my friends have worn ivory/white satin that's straight down with a train but no puff skirts... must be a princess/disney thing:0) Christy that dress is stunning like your e-ring... and if it will be "last season" when you want to buy it maybe you'll get it cheaper?

I have been married for 10 years and have no plans or dress to add here :guilty: but I just wanted to mention that I think all your dresses are so beautiful!
You all will be or were gorgeous on your wedding day!
Y'all have great taste!
Well of COURSE you do you love Disney!

LOL, that was so cute! :earsgirl:

I think that you should plan a vow renewal. 10 years seems like just the right number for a VR to me!! ;)

My WDW Wedding was May 2, 2004. This is the dress I wore. I loved it.
