We would like to travel to Vero Beach this summer (June/July). We are a family of 2 adults, 4 children (3-12). What would be the right amount of time to visit, relax on the beach, enjoy the pool and chill a few days before visiting WDW? I was thinking of 4 nights/5 days? Any comments? I've read a few posts about not much to do, so I don't want to spend more days than we would enjoy.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

It's rather subjective on how much you like spending time around the pool and the beach, Vero is pretty relaxing because if you don't want to do anything you don't feel you have to.

There are some reasonable golf courses in the area, a number of kids activities, some interesting things to go see, wildlife excursions. If you want to fill a week relaxing you could do that easy enough, other people would be bored with in an hour of arriving. Personally I'd rather do it AFTER a trip to WDW so I go home feeling relaxed as galloping about the parks, while fun and rewarding, can be tiring. But to each their own :) .

For me, 2-3 nights at Vero is all I need, although 4 wouldn't kill me. 5 would be too long. All I'm interested in there is laying by the pool, and can only take the sun for so many days in a row! If I was wanting to do some of the excursions or visiting when it was cool enough to go bike riding or rollerblading, then a longer trip (5 nights) would be ok.

We were there 3 nights and would have liked to have about 2 more. We did some of the excursions, made extensive use of the Kids' supervised activities, had a nice adult night out, and generally relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. We would have liked to have stayed for more of the organized activities off-site, they looked like great fun.
