Disney in Ontario, CAN.?

I live in the Buffalo area and constantly hear rumors of Disney coming to some extent to Niagara Falls Ontario. Disney has a big presence every Christmas for the Festival Of Lights. There have been rumors of a Dis. Monorail to encircl the City and also a River Country Type place near Marine Land and Game Farm. Anybody hear anything about this?

I have heard nothing but you have me so excited I won't be able to sleep tonight! I can only imagine how often I will be heading east if that ever happens! I love shopping in Niagara and Buffalo as it is!

Anyone know if this is true??????

OK, I live in Buffalo and I've heard these rumors for years - I wouldn't put much stock in it. It's not that I wouldn't love Disney to come into the "neighborhood", but let's face it, the weather isn't exactly theme park friendly around here. ;)

The only thing is through what happens over there. Disney seems to be there during Christmas, or at least was for a bunch of years. Then as they developed more, stories came through local papers a few years back that had some of these proposals.

I just can't imagine Disney investing large amounts of capital $$$ ANYWHERE where something cannot be kept open 24/7/365........................

im 13 and i am like the biggest disney fan in the country. :love: :earsboy: :earboy2: :earseek: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo when im older i would like to be an imagineer . and i think it would be great to have a park come to niagra falls because i live in buffalo. but to think that it snows from december to april i dont think this would be a good place.

I hope they open it there... or somewhere else. I don't care. Just open another park elsewhere.

I live close to Niagara falls so we go there every year. At Christmas, Disney does make its mark there. They have the winter festival of lights which consists of many Disney displays (ie. the princesses, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Cinderella's castle, etc...). There is a live Disney show (with the main characters - Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, etc..) which includes some singing. I believe there's a character meal at a nearby restaurant (I'm not sure on this as we've never gone to it, but I have heard of it being very good). There are great fireworks displays as well. As for a Disney park opening, I haven't heard that rumour before and highly doubt that would happen due to the cold winter climate. I still love going there in December to get my Disney fix though! :teeth:

Just over there yesterday, they still have not removed the Christmas light displays--I was a little surprised to drive by and see the princess display, etc. Funny they have started construction around the area for the summer--new sidewalks. etc, but the light displays are still up.
