I know we've discussed this before. There are rumors that there may be a 50 hour party July 15-17. I've been checking disneygallery.com (where events are listed) and looks like they've made an update. Not much, only to say that they've gotten a lot of inquiries and they expect to have information by April 8 (day before my birthday, so I won't forget to check).

I've been holding off planning a trip because I really didn't want to deal with the crowds. But if there is a 50 hour party, then I'd definitely go. The disneygallery doesn't say there will be a party, but just says to hold the dates for some sort of celebration. But they did a 25 hour party for the 25th anniversary, so everyone is speculating that there will be a 50 hour party. I'm just not sure how that would affect the 'day' guests.

I too am looking forward to the announcement, though I already have plans to be there at the parks the 16 - 18. If they announce something for the 15 I might have to try to bump my plans up a day.

My guess is that it won't affect day guests because they will be allowed admittence during normal park hours, but those who pay for the party will get the after hours fun.

The last time they did a 50 hour party (I believe Star Tours opening), you could come in anytime...Disneyland was open around the clock for 50 hours. People sleeping on benches, in the planters, wherever they could catch a nap...really strange to see.

Looks like no 50 hour party. Here's the link for the latest information. Special packages to particpate in some merchandise events.

That is disappointing for non-collectors. They had an overnight party for the opening of DCA in 2001. I dreamed of taking my Dad to an overnight party in celebration of Disneyland's 50th Birthday. He was there on the opening day to the general public - July 18, 1955. I will make my own Disneyland 50th event for my Dad.
