I've tried, failed, tried, failed many many times!

I originally started WW in Jan 2003 - did fine losing until March when my MIL died of cancer - she was my VERY BEST friend for about 25 years. I was doing so - so thru the summer - managed to go from 198.8 to 162.

Then in Oct I go the phone call that my mother 81 had fallen and broken a hip. She also had alzheimers, and other ails. It was the day after my DH birthday and I stood at the counter talking on the phone making plans to drive the 10 hours to OK from NM - many times over to help out - and DH leftover B'day cake was there - I ate almost the whole thing without even realizing it.

From mid oct to right before thanksgiving when my mom died, I drove to OK 10x and sat in hospitals for days. And, gained about 13 lbs back. I was miserable, my kids were miserable and mom's passing was a blessing. Then December, my SIL died from cancer - another trip.

My DS is a gymnast so we travel from Dec - May almost every weekend. I rejoined WW in Jan, in March and then after vacation in July of 2004. Each time I managed to stay 'on track' for only a few weeks, then life kept me from making meetings, etc.

Jan of 2005 I joined again at 185.6 - at least I kept a bit off from originally. They had a new meeting time that was perfect for me. 6 wks later, they cancelled the meeting b/c we had only 17, not the required 18 in attendance.

Since then, I've been not able to go twice.

Then stress kicked in again. My son's coach is being a real 'jerk' and has not hidden the fact that he wants my son gone - that is another story, but is getting worse - coach has guilt over son's injury he ignored and won't get over it. The board I was on at the gym was "fired" and the gym owner is trying to get his hands on over $15K of parents money.

My DD's school principal called her in to juvenile auth. for absences - DD had appendix out the 3rd day of school, then fractured leg in PE. Principal insisted that one note was needed from DR. EVERY day she was gone and therefore counted ALL of her absences at Unexcused. She's an honor roll student, no discipline prob, etc. We had to get the superintendent involved and the principal refused to return his calls. Super finally had to send his secretary over to physically bring the principal to his office. Finally resolved after many sleepless nights.

Then on the 14th, my sister - 10 yrs older and more like my mother than my mother ever was - had her dog put down and found she had a "90% chance of cancer" breast lump. She is in FL and I'm here in NM. Same night my 19 yr old w/ a heart valve defect was in ER with severe chest pains - will likely need a valve replacement much earlier than expected. Also overheard that is is using "recreational" drugs of some sort - I suspect marijuana, but not sure. That he dropped out of college b/c of his grades, and I started getting mail that he's bouncing checks. UGH!!!!

So, for a stress eater like me, I having a TERRIBLE time. I'm trying to get back on track, but not succeeding.

Today was my sister's biopsy, and I didn't bother to step on the scale and had 2 cookies - 4 pts for breakfast.

I'm hoping that MAYBE if I journal here, and PLEASE leave feedback if so inclined, not just in my food journal, MAYBE I'll have more success.

TIA for all your support.

Julie (sometime I'll find time to update my info below!!)

Ok, I've made it to lunch w/ no cheats, so I"m doing good for me. I forgot to weigh today which is just as well.

Went to WalMart for Groceries and found this really yummy new version of the "flat out" bread. Has FIFTEEN grams fiber each. WOW!!! It's italian herb, so tastes good too.

Hopefully I can make it the rest of the day. so far 6 pts.

Hi! Welcome to the journals!

Joining up here is a great first step in making it stick this time. There are wonderful supportive people here who will cheer you on and help you get back up and dust yourself off if you fall.

Sounds like you've reached your stress quota for the year! Don't forget yourself in the middle of all these crises! Your family is very important but your health and happiness is important too! Take time to take care of your self.

I've seen that flatout bread in the store and it looked really good. I may have to pick some up today!

Hope you have a great day--you can do it! :cheer2:

Today wasn't horrid, but it wasn't great, either.

I was doing fine until I looked at my calendar and learned that once again I won't be able to do the 9:30 WW next Thurs as my DS has his cardiology appt at 10 about 1/2 hour away and we have to BE there by 9:30. GRRRRRR!!!!

I've gone about 4 pts over today and have ALMOST consumed all my water. I used to be SO good about it, but just can't seem to drink anymore.

On the positive side, I finally pulled out all my MD formulations stuff and used it tonight. I need to use it faithfully as I am getting very dry skin (we live in a desert, duh!) and age is beginning to take it's toll.

My house is still a wreck from trying to dig out all the summer stuff for ebay and get pics taken, so hopefully after I do groceries in the morning I can get my act together.

I'm also planning to dig out the WATP tapes and do at least the 1 mile.

I just have to remember each day is a new beginning.

93 days til DD and I get on the train to head to FL for my nieces wedding and 3 days at HRH. I REALLY want to be at least to 162 by then as that is the lowest I got on WW. Today was 176.5 on my scale.

Wow you have put the S in STRESS. This board has some of the most supportive people I have ever met and I am sure you will find what your looking for here. When things get bad just try and remember to smile.

Julie--

Welcome to WISH!!

I think you've set a VERY reasonable goal for yourself to be 162 by the time you go to FL!! Just remember to look at this as a DAILY battle...the "big picture" can be discouraging...just take baby steps, day-by-day...check in here for support, it can really make a difference!!

Day 3 - so far so good.

I went grocery shopping EARLY and stopped at starbucks - 6pts for my decaf nonfat caramel macchiato, but worth every point.

I'm addicted to the lo carb flat out bread that has 15 grams fiber, so lunch is a roll up with that and turkey for 6 pts.

DH is home today so exercise may not happen. He is the MOST unsupporting possible - believes that it is impossible to lose any weight after 40, that WW is just a money making scheme and doesn't work, etc. He actually makes fun of my efforts when given the chance. Even my teenagers are better! Oh well.....

I did manage to do my skin care this morning and at sams made sure I walked every aisle pretty fast - I do it just to look for closeouts ending in .x1.

Off to do ebay and then clean house.

:grouphug: Hi Julie...and welcome to WISH! You have a lot that has gone on in your life...I, too, am a stress eater! I joined WW online a few weeks ago.

Good luck to you...take each day one at a time...baby steps. You can do this. Sorry to hear that your DH is not so supportive.

Take care of you!

Yesterday was an easy day to stay OP. This mornings weight was 175, so I'm on my way back to where I was when the trouble started again. I'm still hoping to get exercise in, but not real sure today will be the day. I had lt yogurt w/ 2/3 cup kashi go lean for bkfst - VERY yummy for 4 pts. Lunch will be another rollup with the flat bread. I think the fiber really helps.

I'm off to keep cleaning and make a 32 oz bottle of water.

Tonight I have to do taxes and stuff Easter Baskets. I don't do one for myself, so if I can keep from nibbling as I go I'll be fine. I try to buy candy that DH and kids like, but I don't.

TTFN - 91 days til DD and I board Amtrak for our 3 day journey to FL. I can't wait!! Three days of total relaxation - can't do anything but rest - (and I'll throw her off the train if she bugs me to play games the whole way :flower: )

Julie,

Welcome to the WISH journals!

I understand how stressful it can be to live in various states from family when things go wrong. It can be very hard, especially when raising a family. But, you have made a first step in releasing some of your stress by making a plan to take care of yourself and become healthier. The journaling will help you stay on track with your eating and exercise as well as allow you to "get things off your chest". In fact, you are already off to a great start. :cool1:

Keep looking forward to that trip to FL. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I'm BACK!!

I've been out of the loop since last SAT and have eaten almost all of my points in Chocolate, but between stress and PMS, oh well. I've stayed within points and haven't gained, but haven't lost.

DS went to cardio today and will do more testing next week, but I don't have to go and will be able to go to WW. YIPPEE!!! But I may have to rejoin. UGH!!

Yesterday I managed to fit in the 1 mile WATP and today I walked the mall for about 30 min and I will do WATP again here shortly.

One step at a time.

My sister's surgery is next Tues a.m. in FL. She has inflitrating ductile carcinoma, and they are hoping for just a lumpectomy and that it hasn't spread. time will tell.

more later.....

You got it, just one step at a time! You will get there, even if you indulge in some chocolate now and then. The most important part is that you remind yourself that you are just as important as everyone else who needs you right now and keep pushing yourself back to your plan as often as you can. ;)

Praying for you and your family and hopefully your sister will have better news. :grouphug: ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I WILL make it through the weekend cheat free and I WILL exercise.

Yesterday I managed to do my WATP again. I wanted to do a 2nd time, but ran out of time.

It is going to be beautiful here in NM today and I'm going to make DD go for a long walk with me as well.

TOM hit, so my weight jumped, but at least I know it is temporary.

More later. 84 days until we board the train for FL!!

Yippee!

My sister's spirits are good - she says she never would have dreamed she'd be HAPPY to tell people she was going to have radiation & chemo. All in perspective!

Later.

Very busy day headed here, but I managed to do the 2 mile WATP this morning - YIPPEE!!!

Breakfast was a wheat E muff w/ rf pbutter & a smidge of jelly - 4 pts.

I'm almost thru with 1/2 of my 77 oz of water.

Off to list ebay and get my taxes ready to mail. I've NEVER been this late before. Oh well.......

One day at a time. Just talked to sis and she is running errands trying to keep busy before her surgery tomorrow.

Thanks for all your encouragement!

Got up and made myself do the 2 mile WATP - tried the Walk the Walk Christian music one. It was not as vigorous as the regular, but really good.

Today is surgery day - they made her be at the hospital at 6 a.m. and her surgery isn't until 3:55. I just talked to nieces and they said she is REALLY stressed.

Yesterday I stayed totally OP, foods as well as points.

So far today, 3 pts.

DS's asthma & allergies are really bad, and he has to make a certain skill on High Bar before Thurs in order for his coach to let him compete it at Regionals. If he doesn't, he doesn't have a chance of making it to Nationals. Needless to say that's a bit of stress as well. He really wants to make it again this year as he has qualified every year he has been elegible. Time will tell. Hopefully if this NM spring wind dies down, his meds will have a better chance of keeping up.

Lesli - I sell our own stuff and that of other family members on ebay. They give it to me and let me use the money to help fund DS gymnastics - which is a $10K/year expense minimum. UGH!

Have a good one! More later!

The wind has stopped and the sun is bright - hopefully that will relieve DS allergies some. Although he needs to be doing school, I'm letting him sleep in this week and not pushing it (he does HS thru an online accredited school). If we miss school this week, oh well..... he does school most weekends, so no big deal.

Sister's surgery went very well. The pre op nightmare was awful - apparently it was the rude radiologist who tried to insert the wires and missed twice. then tried to pull them out and told her "you are one tough *** broad". The tech finally yelled at him to leave them and they would be removed during surgery. The 30 min process took over 3 hours.

They removed 2 lymph nodes and they were clean. Praise the Lord! They said they will retest them in 2 - 3 days. She now goes back the 14th to find out about when radiation/chemo start. She is sore, but in good spirits. Is looking on this as a wake up call. Said yesterday she is sure she had ALL the mammograms she hasn't had over the last 15 years.

Tomorrow is my first day back at WW in a while. I may even have to rejoin again. GRRRR!!!!!! Hopefully I won't be too much above where I was last time I was there. Today I'm trying to do all my points in liquid. I love the Kashi go lean shakes, and I'm back on my Revival soy for the night sweats. I need to drink them around noon each day and always seem to forget. They really help.

Did the 2 mile WATP this morning. Have tons of errands to run in anticipation of hopefully going to Colorado for Regional Championships on Friday.

Have a great day all!

I've done pretty well on food today. Liquid except for 1 ff hot dog, 2 slices turkey and 2 slices lt bread.

DS just came home from gym and is really bummed. His coach still hasn't told him if he's competing all 6 events this weekend or not. He has a HUGE rip on his wrist - about silver dollar size with many layers missing - from his high bar grips, and his hands are raw and about to rip as well. Fortunately, the antibiotics are beginning to kick in so his asthma is getting better. His mood isn't tho, as he said even if he gets to compete, his hands hurt so bad he may not be able to compete. I HATE this sport!

Tomorrow night will tell the tale, then he competes around noon Saturday to try to qualify....MAYBE.

Tomorrow is weigh in. I WILL go to WW. Hopefully I'm up 2 lbs or less. My meeting is about 1.5 miles away and I'm hoping to be able to leave in time to walk. It's all up hill going, but not really a bad walk. I don't think I need to rejoin - I've missed 3 wks, but I think you can miss 4. I hope so! I just hate having to continually start over.

best go try to get something done tonight. Hard to concentrate, tho.

Made it to WW this morning and didn't have to rejoin. Had only missed 3 wks. My scale said I was down about a pound, but when I weighed in, I read wrong and thought it said I was up .8. I was bummed the entire meeting, wondering how my scale could now be almost 3 lbs off. Only after I got home did I look again and had LOST .8.

That was GREAT news! Only .8 to go until I'm back where I was when life went nuts!

I won't know til later tonight if we are going to Regionals with DS. He's NOT in a good mood today. Poor kid!

Just dropped my pup (8 mo old Yorkie) off at the groomers just in case we go. Off to list ebay.

I did the 2 mile WATP again today. Getting easier.

This is going to be a tough weekend. DS coach wouldn't even speak to him last night at practice and DS had to go ask if he was competing high bar. Of course, no. Needless to say DS is angry, depressed, etc, which doesn't help mom much, either. DH called and left a message on coach's cell letting him know that DS told us he would not be able to compete HB, and that since the purpose of regionals is to try to qualify for nationals, and since DS can't qualify w/ only 5 events that DS would not be going (DS choice) and that if there was a change or any question coach could call us. Haven't heard a word. Coach has repeatedly told other he wants DS gone, so this is just another attempt. GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

It's also gloomy here in NM today, which doesn't help. I'm going to run errands and walk the mall for something to occupy my mind. DS is going to try to go in to work for a bit. School isn't happening as neither he nor I can concentrate right now.

I will definitely get in my WATP 2 mile later today.

More later.

These last 4 days have seemed like an ETERNITY!!!

Thursday night after we left message for coach, coach never called back. DS went to work Friday, came home and just stared at me. I asked if he was 100% sure he didn't want to go - "no". but not 100% sure he did want to go. Finally decided about 5:30 he would go - it's a 6 hour drive. So we packed and left. Dinner at McD - ICK!! I had salad, but then it wasn't filling and munched in the car on junk.

Saturday he competed and was the ONLY one who didn't qualify for nationals as coach wouldn't let him touch the bar. If he could have saluted the judge and simply TOUCHED the bar, he would have qualified. VERY stressful. Then the friend who talked him into going split his head open on the high bar - thankfully he's fine now, but sporting 20 large staples

Saturday I actually stayed w/in my points, but low on water and no exercise.

Sunday morning we woke up to the BLIZZARD. DS had to compete in 1 event final and was alternate on the other 4. It took us almost an hour to get from our hotel to the event. Breakfast was Burger King burrito across the street - only 1 person made it to work and that is all they fixed. The only place open to eat lunch was taco bell and leftovers in the microwave for dinner.

And we had to spend an extra night because all the interstates were closed.
I managed 2 10 minute treadmill sessions before the treadmill key disappeared, ended up snacking from stress, and was low on water again.

Today the roads were fine, and I'm now trying to get my water in - the rest of the car threatened mutiny if I drank that much on a trip. We'd never have made it home.

I'm not EVEN stepping near the scale until Wed morning. I won't be surprised at all if I gain this week.

UGH!!!!!!

Lesli54
04-12-2005, 10:48 AM
Sorry to hear that your DS couldn't qualify. It just seems as if the coach would have at least let him atcually TOUCH the bar for a qualification, even if he couldn't actually perform his best at this time. I would think a coach would want as many qualified as possible, it looks good on their record. Hopefully, DS will figure out what he wants to do about the situation.

Blizzard? Obviously, I have missed the news. Too busy keeping myself busy so I don't munch. I didn't realize that there was a blizzard down in NM. Wow! Guess that tsunami has really played havoc on the weather down there. It had to be interesting and understandablly frustrating for you guys since you are not used to driving in that kind of weather. Probably don't have the equipment to clear roads. We are used to it here in IL.

Well, today you can get back OP and get that water in. Hopefully, the scale will surprize you. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Yesterday was a bit better. The weather is great here, but I have so much catching up to do I haven't had much time to get out. I did get my 2 mi WATP in and I will do it this a.m. early, too.

Lesli54 - we were in the snow in Colorado, but NM got quite a bit, too. I think about 3" here which is unusual.

I'm originally from SE Iowa, so I really enjoyed seeing it. I had this urge all the way home to make DH stop on the side of the interstate so I could make snow angels and build a snowman.

I'm going to try for the liquids again today. haven't had the courage to weigh yet, but I feel so much like I'm holding water that I don't think it will be very positive.

Have a good one!

I was born & raised in Burlington. I've spent a lot of time in the quad cities. My sister lived quite a while in Sterling, Il. DH and I lived a couple of years in Mt Vernon IL just after we married.

Just talked to sister and she went back to the surgeon today. He was rude and arrogant. She has 2 staples that are partially out and poking her bad and he woudn't remove them. Told her she was not in control. She goes back next wed to get all out. They will set up her appt. with an oncologist. I told her if she doesn't like him/her to change immediately. They also want to do a whole body CT/bone scan to make sure nothing spread, even tho it was not in the lymph nodes. Told her it will spread to LLL, BB Lungs, liver, lymph, bones, brain. She had several questions written down to ask and he didn't want to listen. One was Do I, or Did I have cancer. He told her she does have another breast. UGH!!!!!

Other than that, the morning is going ok. So far I've had 1/2 my water, a Kashi shake, done my WATP and am about to do ebay. I take my pup to get the ear hair pulled and nails clipped (they forgot last week) later and will have a KEVA smoothie - 4 pts and WONDERFUL!! Going to be 75 here today and I'm hoping to fit in a walk.

Only 73 days til we get on the train and my weight is essentially where it was.... hopefully I'll start seeing a difference soon. The dress I wore to the younger niece's wedding last year is a smidge tight and I want to wear it again. I also have a back up that I'd love to wear, but not planning on it. I'll be thrilled if it happens. I can get into it, but couldnt wear it in public!!

We are 40 minutes from Sterling, in fact, gotta go to DD15's ortho there tomorrow. My sister lives in Muscatine. Isn't it a small world? :cool1:

I think you were right in telling your sister to get another Dr. When they don't want to listen to your concerns and don't want to take the time to explain what is happening to your body, then it's time to take away their precious fee. Hopefully, she will be able to find someone she is comfortable with.

Good job on the food, hope you get your walk in, and I just know that dress will fit well soon. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Well, I didn't get my walk in , but I did manage to get 20 min on my elliptical in which I haven't done in a while.

I've had about 40 oz of water and the same of green tea decaf. today, plus 2 Kashi chocolate shakes and a Keva smoothie plus my revival soy. I had 2 thin slices of turkey and then had 2 fries of DS, but I still have 8 pts to go today. I'll likely have another Kashi before bed, or maybe just some milk and a touch of peanut butter.

I may or may not make WW tomorrow. DS 19 has to go for a drug test for a new job - he claims he's totally clean. We also have to go to his apt and try to figure out how to get his 2 deadbeat, drinking, drugie roommates to move out as they haven't been paying their portion of the rent. DS has been selling his belongings to not get evicted. A definite learning experience for him - HOPEFULLY!!! Expensive for all of us.

I finally found my Spa gift certificate for a facial and pedicure I got for my birthday last July. I think I'll try to use that as a reward when I hit the next 5 lbs - hopefully SOON!!! Since DS 15 isn't going to Nationals, my traveling should be done until the FL trip in 73 days, so that should help.

Lesli54 - yes it is a small world. I really miss Iowa and SWEET CORN, but the thing I miss most is Pork Tenderloins. Not exactly diet foods, but.....they don't have a clue what those are here. My MIL used to mail me some occasionally. Those and Sterzings potato chips are definite diet no-nos, but SO GOOD!!!

Well, I didn't make it to WI - I might try to go early Sat morning, but that one is usually a zoo with over 100 people. I did manage to get my WATP 2 mi in, tho.

Breakfast was lt yogurt - strawberry white chocolate - I'd neve had that flavor before - mixed with 2/3 c Kashi crunch - 4 pts.

I've got another bottle of green tea brewing in the sun and have started on my 77 oz water.

DD and I decided that we would go back to Discovery Cove again this year. Last year we did the trainer for a day program. This time she will do the Dolphin swim and I'll just lounge. We really didn't have much time to explore last time. This is the last of the FL weddings to go to, so I don't know when we'll get back down. Next summer there will be a wedding in Iowa, so we know it won't be for at least 2 years. By that time DS will be graduated and DD will be a Soph and probably working. Best to do it while we can.

Have a great day all! Thanks for your support!

We thought about Discovery Cove this trip, but I think it will wait for the next one. Yes, you just can't go wrong with sweet corn and a tenderloin. Well.....not the best for you, but it does taste good.

Hope you get everything worked out with your DS and his roomies. My brother has been down that road too often. Keep up the good work and hope you can get that walk soon. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Today is ok so far! I had a ton to do, but decided to make sure I exercised FIRST or I knew it wouldn't happen. So, I did the 2 mi WATP before heading out.

DS 19 had his echocardiogram today, and he also go the call that he got hired at WalMart. Now he just needs to get rid of the roomies, re enroll in college and will be back on track. Hopefully he learned some lessong. We'll know the results of the echo next week.

Sister has her oncology appt next Wed so we'll know her radiation/chemo sched. She's anxious to get it started and over.

Breakfast was an oatmeal bar 4 pts while I listed Ebay. Lunch I had a BoGo coupon for Subway so I took a ft long to DS to eat between work and gym, I ate half of mine and have half for tomorrow. I also remembered to drink my Revival - I really need it now that the weather is warming as the night sweats get worse.

DD has a fencing tourney tomorrow about 2 hours away. If it's rainy - which I hope it is, DH will take her and I can stay home, shuttle DS 15 to work and it will be easier to stay OP.

Hope everyone here has a good weekend.

I LOVE the new Flat Out bread that has 15 g fiber! tonight I dug out my Quesadilla maker and used Flat out folded (2 pts) 2/3 c ff chz ( 2 pts) and some banana peppers and red pepper, then when done I opened and added tomatoes, romaine and some of the precooked grilled chicken strips from sams ( 1 pt), 1/2 oz of real shredded chz to hold it together and zapped it. Then dipped in green chile salsa and ff sour cream. I am SO STUFFED for only 7 pts.

Now I have points for one of the no pudge strawberry shortcake bars (2 pts) and still have 2 pts to spare for the day. DD had one of her real blue bunny strawberry shortcake bars today after school and complained that it was smaller than mine and not as good. OH WELL!!!

As soon as DH gets home from work and DS from gym I'm gonna make quesadillas for them and hop in the tub. They can clean the kitchen!!

Well, it's not raining, YET, but I didn't go to fencing anyway. DH took DD and got lost on the way. You go straight up I-25 and there is basically 1 turn and he's driven it many times, but he called me and said " I think I missed my turn" He was almost 60 miles past it!! Then he asks - "Can you tell me where I am? There's mountains on both sides and I need directions to get to Los Alamos" And he was serious.

They were about 30 min late, but I was able to find the phone # and she didn't miss anything.

I took off to run errands and ran into Petsmart - BIG mistake. They had a bunch of DOG clothes marked to $1.99. Called a friend and then bought a TON. Went to the other Petsmart but they had none, then made an unscheduled stop at Costco, and many more and just got home. Time to exercise before the day gets away from me.

Breakfast was a scone - I love raspberry white chocolate from a local market - so I buy 1 a week. Bit into it and it was lemon cranberry. I should have stopped and saved the 6 pts, but ate it anyway. Lunch I just managed and it was the other half sub I got yesterday.

I went to McD's to find THE DOG toys - looking for the Yorkie, and bought 2 happy meals, and didn't even eat any fries! YIPPEE!!!

More later.

Yesterday was ok to start, but finished not so good. DD and DH got home from fencing and opened the strawberry chocolate covered and caramel chocolate covered almonds I bought at Costco. OOPS!!!! I ate WAY too many. Then ordered Pizza and I had one square about 3 x 5. It was sicilian with artichokes, spinach, chicken, tomato, etc and WONDERFUL.

I'm still full this morning and I'm sure the scale won't be kind - if nothing else because of the sodium.

Today is catch up day on DS 15's school, church, laundry, etc. With DH home it's doubtful I'll get the chance to do WATP. Hopefully a walk can happen tho.

That's hilarious about your DH!!! :rotfl2:

I'm so sorry to hear about getting the wrong scone! It's such a small thing, but when you save up the points and get all psyched up about a treat only to find out it's not what you hoped it's such a bummer! You'll have to enjoy it double next week!

I hope you have a great day and get that walk! You've inspired me--I think I'm going to head out for a spin around the neighborhood myself.

DD and I ended up shopping at the mall most of the afternoon, so I did quite a bit of walking (or standing) there. I did 20 min on the elliptical this morning and tonight DD and I took the dogs for about a 20 min walk. FINALLY! It is SO nice out here this time of year!

Breakfast was lt yogurt and 2/3 c Kashi crunch - 4 pts. Lunch was Keva Juice Berry Berry Good smoothie - 4 pts. Dinner DH and DS 15 came and we had Chinese buffet in the mall. I think I had about 14 - 16 pts there, so I'm either at or about 2 over on pts for the day. The sodium will KILL me tho.

Being at the Mall I've basically had no water today. UGH!! I had about 24 oz w/ dinner and I'm trying to get some in before bed, but don't want to be up all night.

Do any of you remember GAUCHO pants - sort of like capris only with wider legs? More like a split skirt. Well, they're back. I used to wear them in late 70's 80's and loved them. DD hates the tight jeans and short shorts and we bought 3 pairs of these today - green and jeans for school and black. Well, she changed into the black in the mall and DH about had a fit. Said they looked like a punk rocker would wear and we aren't going there. I thought they looked nice, almost dressy. Her new "happy bunny" shirt that is bright orange that she was wearing - it says "Hi, Loser!" I would have thought he would have had an issue with. Oh well.

My scale is moving ever so slowly, and I'm getting kind of bummed that I'm not seeing a difference w/ the exercise. I'm not stopping tho. I just hope that Thurs brings some good news at WI.

Ok, you know you're doing too much at once when you write a long post and then forget to click 'submit'. Maybe I should write myself a note! So, here we go again!

This morning got away from me and I'm eating lunch, (while listing ebay, writing this (for the 2nd time) and playing fetch & tug with Mia with my feet). No breakfast except my 1.5 cups decaf w/ ff creamer and 4 small choc eggs I found in the candy bag on DD's dresser and 2 almonds. So 2 pts there.

Lunch is a roll up w/ the flat out bread and cf diet pepsi. 5 pts, + my revival soy later 2 pts.

I'm taking DD to fencing tonight and while she is there will take Mia (my 5 lb 8 mo Yorkie) to Yappy Hour (small dog playtime at Three Dog Bakery). There's a starbucks next door so I'll have to plan a light dinner to save room for my decaf nonfat caramel macchiiato ( or get a smaller starbucks....NOT!)

My rebuilt ankle is really hurting today, but was worse yesterday, so I will tough it out and do my WATP after lunch.

Tonight DD's fencing coach and I will decide if I'm taking DD to Kansas City for fencing over Memorial day. It would be a girls trip - on the train of course (I don't like flying) and I think she'd like it.

Best get moving and I WILL remember to click Submit!!

Yesterday I only got in about half of my water and this morning the scale was up 2 lbs. UGH!!! Thurs is WI and I'm hoping that something comes off by then.

I added a few situps (WW wk 5) to my day yesterday and I can feel it.

Looks like DD and I may be going to see my sister in
FL in a couple of weeks. There is a fencing tournament in Lakeland where DSis lives and I had over $500 credit on SW. On a whim I checked airfare last night and it was $79 ea way so I booked. I can always get my credit again if we decide not to go. It would be a quick trip, but fun.

Breakfast was Egg beaters, lt bread and FF chz in a sandwich - 3 pts. Lunch I'm sure will be a roll up. No plan for dinner yet.

Loads to do today, including trying to catch up on Ebay. I've got to have all the summer stuff out of here before we head to FL the end of June. 67 days.

Today is not going as I planned. If I can find a way to get DD's weapons on the plane undamaged w/o paying more for them each way than for us, we'll be going to FL 2 wks from Friday. I'm SO excited. I'll get to be with my DSis for Mother's day and she is more like my mother than my mom was. Plus it will be good just to give her a hug with all she is going thru.

But, airlines have changed the dimensions allowable to 62" max. We are flying SW and over 62 is $100 each way! (I pd $79 each way for us!) I searched all morning in every type of store I could think of for a hard case that would hold her weapons. They are steel, but have electrical components and the blades do bend/break. Now we've got to try to find some way to make something acceptable. Even all the fencing stores online in US and Europe, the bags are too large. DD's bag is wheeled, designed for travel, but soft and is over 80". Very frustrating. Even worse is SW told me that they don't consider Fencing a Sport. American said they only recognize sports listed on their website. Come on, someone can check a Scuba tank free and we can't take a 2 lb stick? Oh well.

I had to talk myself into WATP today. I searched from 10 - 1, had lunch and since I hadn't started any other jobs didn't want to spend the time to exercise, but I DID!!

I'm almost done w/ my 77 oz water. It's getting warm here and I feel my fingers swelling. I retain terribly!

Almost time to pick up DD at school and then order her a new Epee (one got stolen at the university at a practice and they're about $130. UGH!)

More later.

Just an idea, but would it possibly be cheaper to FedEx/UPS it to your hotel or DSis' place? It's got to be cheaper than $100! That's nuts!

goldcupmom
04-19-2005, 10:31 PM
It would definitely be cheaper to FedEx. DD and DH are out right now looking for something. DD is pretty attached and doesn't like the idea of shipping. They think they may have found a fishing rod case that will work. Hopefully.

Water has been no problem today - 77 oz + about 40 of decaf green tea and 24 of caffeine free diet pepsi. Guess I know what I'll be doing all night ! :teeth:

I've stayed OP today easily, so hopefully there will be a change tomorrow. Thursday WI is fast approaching and I'm not feeling too positive about it. Oh well, one day at a time.

Hope you found a way to transport your DD's equipment. That would be very tough now a days. Isn't it frustrating what is considered a sport? My oldest DD's have been in dance and cheerleading and neither is considered a sport in most instances. Although some of their workouts and practices have been harder than the football players, it doesn't count. Oh well.

Glad, I am not the only one getting swollen fingers now that the heat is on. I can only hope that it will subside soon. :sad2:

My scale just isn't budging. Today is my liquid day and maybe that will help. I'm still up from my 2 wks ago WI by about 1+ lb according to my scale. UGH!!!

Finally! WI went much better than I expected. Down 1.4. Which puts me .6 below where I was when things went berzerk in mid Feb. - 2 months to get back on track. I need to remember that lesson ..... AGAIN!!

I can WI 2 more times before I go to see my DSis. I'd LOVE to get my new 15 lb clippie by then, but it won't be easy. I'm gonna try.

Haven't eaten yet today as I don't before WI. Was going to splurge & have a piece of leftover chicken artichoke pizza. Had 1 small bite and it was hard from being in the fridge so I picked the artichoke off & threw the rest away. Not sure what I'll eat now, probably my old standby rollup - I Love the carbdown flat out bread, so it's almost a treat

Wow! I was suffering from withdrawel!! Everytime I try to come to DisBoards I get a message of page not found. That was NO FUN!!

Last nights dinner didn't happen. We ended up doing more hunting for a case for DDs Epees, no luck. Dinner ended up being an Italian ice, a slice of wheat bread and a couple of bites of scone. Not good, but tasty.

So far this a.m. have had other 1/2 scone and a roll up sandwich from Costco - small 3pts-.

We have a reception for the opening of the fencing club tonight. I'm planning on eating basically veggies & fruit there. I'm sure they will have at least some of that from the caterer and I will stick with water.

I was wrong about DD's day off school. It was originally listed that Monday was the snow make up day, but they changed it to today, so she will be off Monday. We'll go to our fav thrift store and then if not raining, the zoo.

Off to finish ebay so maybe I can get dressed before noon (I have 27 min to go).

I didn't quite get off Dis at noon, but close and I needed my DISboard fix. Did my ab stuff from WW, showered and while showering I convinced myself I could handle the 3 mile WATP today. Never done it before. and I DID IT!!!!

The walking part was not too bad but the stretchie band arm stuff was HARD. Byt I already know that I have zero upper body strength. It takes almost 50 min, so I know I wouldn't have time to do it every day, but I'm hoping to try to fit it in 1 - 2 x week.

Now I'm tired, but feel some accomplishment. TOM is fast approaching - or at least it's supposed to be, at this point I never know for sure. Water retention, here we come. Sometimes I can gain as much as 6 - 10 lbs OVERNIGHT!! I've been this way since I was about 10 and so is my DD. VERY depressing.

Off to tackle the house.

goldcupmom
04-23-2005, 10:34 AM
The reception at the Fencing club was very nice. I stuck w/ only water, but the food wasn't what she originally planned. I had 1/2 of a vietnamese spring roll - all veggies inside and a clear outer layer. 2 lg red lettuce leaves w/ a thin slice of avocado and a 1/2 strip turkey bacon inside. About 10 chips and Mango salsa - it was WONDERFUL and the caterer told me how to make it. Just mango, jalapeno, habanero and cilantro so can't be all that bad. Had about a dozen olives and then had 2 small about 1" oatmeal cookies w/ no raisins and 2 small coconut balls - not cookie-ish like macaroons, just like a ball of rolled coconut. Not TOO bad, but not real great. I'm sure the sodium is taking it's toll today.

I did OK on water yesterday, I got in my 77 oz, but not extra.

Today is Ebay, clean and then DD has fencing tourney at 3.

Tomorrow after Church she has to go for the public open house to demonstrate. I'll let DH do that one and exercise while he's gone to avoid the criticism. Ds will do school and I'll start to get organized to pack for DD and my quickie FL trip. Still no case for the Epees. Looks like we'll have to make something.

I'm hoping to squeeze in a walk today, but not too optimistic.

Yesterday was LONG!!! We STOOD watching fencing from about 2:30 until about 7:30. No exercise, but standing was exhausting.

Before we left I ate, but over ate. TOM which may or may not be approaching all I wanted to do was munch. Had a roll up sandwich - then had some ruffles light chips - fairly ok, then had THREE chocolate covered biscotti. NOT OK! but 2 pts each. So I had 20 of my 22 pts before leaving home at 2:00. Had just water there and about 4 small tortilla chips with the mango salsa. Dinner DD wanted Chick Fil A so I got ONLY a char grill chicken sandwich - 5 pts. So, I was over pts by about 4 - 5, so not too bad.

Breakfast was lt oatmeal and a bit of a caramel roll I made for the kids. I stopped at one bite. They had wanted Krispy Kremes, which would have done me in. DH had to go to Home Depot, so the moment he was out the door I popped in my WATP 3 mile and made it thru. Finished turned off TV and went to the bathroom and he was on the bed watching TV by the time I got out in less than 2 min. WHEW!!

I'm not hungry today, but I really really really have the munchies. So far I haven't indulged them. I need to have lunch and think I'll use some FF cheese and make nachos with the baked chips. Maybe with lots of salsa that will cure my munchies. Not sure of dinner. If DS19 comes over I'll make something more substantial as he is having trouble affording food and eating mainly frozen 99c dinners. YUCK!!

DD is off school tomorrow so we need to find an alterations place and get her bridesmaids dress altered so we can carry it to FL. Going to hit our fav thrift store first. If there is time and the rain stops we'll try to go to the zoo. I'm not optimistic. It's supposed to rain most of the day which means I have to be home at 10:30 to take DS to work, pick him up at 2 and drop him at gymnastics. Take DD to fencing at 5, pick DS up at 7, pick DD up at 7:30. THEN I can come home and crash. I don't like DS15 riding the motorcycle, but it sure does free up my life!

Well, today was totally unplanned and not real good.

No exercise except shopping w/ DD - which was fun, but......

We went to our fav thrift store. Bought a bunch as Monday's are 99c day. Stuff for us, a few items for ebay, some for DNiece who is expecting and some too cute to resist baby things for her.

Then to the fabric store to try to get the things to make a bag to put the 6" pvc pipe for the fencing equipment. Took FOREVER and 2 stores and I still don't have everything.

Off to Burlington coat factory to look for some shoes for DD for fencing - nothing, but I got a great purse for travel and some satin pillow covers that zip.

Stopped at the coffee shop for breakfast - scone & coffee 6 pts. Lunch was Subway, 6" sub, baked chips plain tea - 8 pts. So far so good.

Then we ran home, took her bridesmaid dress to be altered - we'll be able to take it when we go next week and leave it - , ran to Goodwill - more baby & maternity stuff and a few books. Had to get dinner on the way to the hardware store to meet DH to get the pipe, etc. Stopped at Sonic. #2 burger - 11 pts. so at 19 for the day at diet sprite. It's really unusual here for places to have anything diet that's caffeine free. - I've been decaf since 1995 - went cold turkey from 2 pots coffee + sodas each day. Now just decaf and chocolate.

Finally home to sort the stuff I bought, no time to ebay or exercise today. DS home & I had to fix him dinner.

Had a choc covered mini biscotti - 2 pts. So I'm under points by one. Grabbed 4 almonds on the way to Dis.

Water wasn't good - just one 32 oz glass, but have had other liquids, so probably not horrid.

Tomorrow I WILL exercise and I WILL do my 3 mile.

I'm exhausted so off to bed.....

Yesterday was a bit calmer here. DH is almost finished with the 'tube' part of the epee case, so now I need to get with my friend and construct the case to go over it. DD picked out some heavy black denim so it ought to work well. Just need to figure out how to close the cover flap. Maybe this weekend.

Today is liquid day for me. Hopefully it will help the scale to move. It's stuck right about where it was last week, but with the unpredictable TOM , that is probably contributing, but who knows. I sure have the munchies.....

I started packing for the quick FL trip last night. I've been picking up maternity clothes and some baby stuff for my niece and it filled a whole large suitcase. I was stunned. I know she can use it tho and she is a TINY girl - very hard to find XS maternity clothes. She is tall and blonde and thin. Actually auditioned to be Barbie at DW quite a few years ago and then turned it down because she didn't want people looking at her. She does look like a Barbie doll. Too funny. But she is REALLY blonde - in HS she had to go pick up an RX and they asked for her Insurance Card. She gave them her car insurance card and asked them why they would need that, did the medicine affect driving? True story! She's getting better.....

Enough babbling. Off to Walmart .....

Have a good day all!!

So far so good today. I ran to Walmart for Dog food and got a KEVA berry berry good smoothie on the way home for Breakfast - 4 pts. had a Kashi shake 4 pts and my revival soy shake 2 pts, so I have 10 pts to go. When I take DD to DH so he can take her to fencing I'll stop and get another Keva for dinner. and I can still have another Kashi and something small. Last week I had 1 lt bread w/ RF peanut butter and it really held me overnight and until after WI.

I managed to get my 2 mi WATP done, but today is mailing day for Ebay, so time is short. I only mail once a week, so it is time consuming to dig everything out of containers, package and mail, but every little bit helps.

WI in this morning was Ok - down 1 lb. Not what I was hoping for, but at least it is in the right direction. After WW came home, had 2 lt bread 2 turkey - 2 pts and ran with DS15 to Eye place to look at sunglasses. Since he's employed he wants to by Oakley's. The MSRP on the pair he wants is $170 - our place sells them for $305........OUCH!!!! Guess he'll order them off line where we found $126.

Then he forgot his backpack with his work shoes (he rides a cycle so wears cycle boots- looks like a stormtrooper) so I had to follow him down to work to give it to him. So I did my grocery shopping down there. Just got home and having lunch of FF cottage cheese with Baked Lays to dip in it. either 5 or 7 points depending on how many chips I eat. It is really yummy! Definitely something I would not have thought to do pre-WW.

DD is at DH work today for Take your kid to work day so I won't have to do the school run. Hopefully will get in at least my 2 mi WATP.

Talked to Dsis this morning while I was in the grocery and she is Really depressed and scared about the Chemo. Trying to put on a brave front about losing her hair, but not doing a good job. She won't lose it in front of her girls, but she sure did with me. I'm glad. She needs to cry about it and not keep everything bottled inside.

TTNW - By now DSis will be done with her first Chemo (Wed at noon). I will be finishing up at the Spa - I still have a Gift Cert from my Birthday last July for a facial and pedicure and decided I finally had time to use it. DD and I will have to finish packing and organizing because one week from tomorrow we head to FL! Yippee!!

Lesli54
04-28-2005, 04:40 PM
Oh no! Another TTNW game going on! I'm definitely going to need to set aside some time for the journals now. ;)

Sounds like you are doing pretty good and congrats on the 1lb.! That means that the dress is just a little looser. Keep it up and you will make it.

As for the epee case. If you are real good with zippers and could find one long enough (probably not on such short notice), then you could try that. But I opt for using velcro. You can get a wide strip and then just sew it all the way across the length of the flap. It works great. Of course that is if you are only trying to get it closed. If you are needing some type of locking mechanism on the flap, then I would get some large grommets (big enough to slip a lock through and easy to put on). Put a grommet on each side of the flap to form reinforced holes in the fabric and that's it. You can now slip a lock and secure.

Sending prayers and :wizard: for you to have the strength you need to see your sister through this time. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

After I went grocery shopping I had just under 1 hour to get everything unloaded, taken care of , eat lunch and get back to pick him up after work to take to gym. With gas prices, I hung around, did some errands and then picked DD up at DH work, stopped to see a friends 4 wk old puppy, bought crickets for the lizards and FINALLy got home to fix dinner.

No exercise, just about half my water so far. Had the MOST WONDERFUL scone - I'm sure it was terrible for me.....Cocoa walnut. Then had cheese nuggets for dinner. Not a healthful day, but a yummy one.

Tomorrow I must do my 3 mile WATP and maybe more.

I''m not too optimistic that I'll be able to lose 2 lbs next week as I wanted, but I sure am gonna try.

Basically the Epee case is a 46" x 6 " tube of PVC pipe with pipe cap permanently attached at one end and with a rope handle at the other. I think the case will just be a round tube with some nylon strap the length for shoulder carrying and a smaller nylon handle attached. The 'cap' will likely be a beanie type lid with velcro to hold it on. Can't lock it on the airplane. I thought about using the plastic things that you press and hook kind of like a belt, but don't think plastic is a good idea. Maybe put a drawstring type with some small metal grommets. Still thinking it through..... That will likely be the Sunday afternoon project.

This a.m. I had the other scone I bought - this one blueberry and not as good as the mocha. I think I'm just in chocolate craving mode.

Today and this weekend are catch up days and get the fencing bag done. I'm still procrastinating.

I have to make DD pack for the trip this weekend or I'll end up having to do laundry Thurs night. She has 2 closets full of clothes and can never find anything to wear. Very high maintenance!!

Tomorrow is 'Bark in the Park' a few blocks from our house to benefit the humane society. DD and I will go and take Mia - just have to decide what Mia needs to wear. LOL!!

TTNW I will be very anxious for DH to tell me when he will get home so I can load the van. Of course I will be making MANY lists and leaving them all over so DH and DS15 will have a clue what to do with the animals and other things. We will pick DD up at school at 3:05 and head straight for the airport. Might have to stop somewhere and get food to take on the plane. With any luck she won't be agitated about having to change clothes in the airport (or she'll just have to fly in her school clothes). I will try to run to the market in the morning to get a large fresh fruit cup for us to share as part of dinner on the plane. We'll land at MCO about 11 and Dsis and her 2 daughters will be there to meet us. DSis will be crying, of course.....she always does... over EVERYTHING!! We'll gather luggage and hit the bathroom AT LEAST twice before leaving to drive the hour to Lakeland - what with 2 over 40 and a pregnant one, bathroom breaks are essential! With any luck at least one of them will remember where on the ramp they parked. Last year we walked around for the better part of an hour looking for the car. Hopefully our flight won't be crowded and DD and I can have an empty seat between us. She likes window, I like aisle. Last year from El Paso to Orlando I ended up in the middle next to a 'cowboy' who slept the whole way - most of it leaning on me. I tried numerous times to wake him so I could go to the bathroom with no success. I was IN PAIN by the time we landed as it is a 3.5 hour flight. NEVER AGAIN!!!
Sleep will be almost non-existant. DSis is a night owl just like our dad was. I'm a morning person, so I'll definitely be sleep deprived. But, it will be good for her to have fun and forget for a while.

You sure do sound busy!

The drawstring idea sounds good. I wonder could you use metal clips like on the end of a dog leash, instead of plastic?

Your flight next to the cowboy sounded like torture! :earseek: Hopefully this time will be better. I never get much sleep when around family either, but it is fun to visit.

Have a great day and hopefully today will be a better eating day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Today hasn't been a great food day! I did get my 3 mi WATP done, tho, but reluctantly.

I've not been sleeping well and it caught up with me today. That plus my heart doing it's flip-flop-skip-hop tells me that TOM must be approaching, but very erratically so. Gee, the 40's are wonderful!!

So, I ate breakfast, did ebay, and when DS went to work, I ate lunch - FF cottage cheese and baked lays while lying in bed reading a book. Then the salty chips had me craving sweets - I made the mistake of opening the pkg of chocolate peanut butter oreos. My fav combo. I actually survived my 1st year of college eating Chocolate ice cream with peanut butter on it for most of 2 meals a day. Addictive! Then took a nap. Nap good, food not so great.

I had cf diet pepsi when I got up, got DD at school and came home. I forced myself to to my WATP even tho I really didn't want to. She did it, too, while eating a bowl of cookies and cream ice cream and complaining that it wasn't really exercise. I could have killed her!!

I need to clean out my freezer as DS15 is selling frozen food from RedWheel for Gymnastics, so dinner was an assortment of 'finger foods'. I had 1/2 a big pretzel with mustard and about a tsp of reduced fat cheese, 3 little round buffalo chicken things and 2 boneless buffalo chicken about 2" fake wings. Also had a cf diet rootbeer.

So, I'm 8 points over and I'm DYING to have some ice cream. I bought sugar free, fat free chocolate brownie and it's calling my name. I'm trying real hard NOT to answer as I know if I open the plastic on the container, I will EAT and EAT and EAT.

I've had only about 1/2 of my water, so I'm working on that.

I really wish they'd sell things like Baked Lays at Sam's in the small bags like they do all the other chips. Once I open the bag, I have a hard time stopping. The ice cream, too. They make regular ice cream in flavors in individual cups, why not the SF, FF stuff?

DD is trying to pack and driving me NUTS. She owns like 6 swimsuits (we have a hot tub - and I buy them new for about $2 at thrift stores) and insists on wearing the top to one, a different bottom and yet another swim top over the first one which has sleeves in it. UGH!!! And IF we get to a pool or beach, she needs to not get a "farmer" tan as the dress she is wearing in the wedding in July is strapless and since all the other bridesmaids are from FL, she will look really funny being so White and then with a farmer tan. Oh well. I imagine my DNiece will just plaster her with tan in a bottle.

Ok....I can tell I'm tired, I'm rambling.

Time to go do laundry and NOT open the freezer in my laundry room. Let the battle begin......

Well, I won the ice cream battle, but today seems like it's not going to be an easy one. I'm trying to organize and just realized I can't find the manual to my new digital camera - I've never read it and am VERY VERY technology illiterate. Haven't used the camera yet b/c I haven't had time to read it. UGH!!!! It's either somewhere here, but I can't imagine where, or on the plane we took to/from Houston or in the hotel in Houston - either place and it's gone. STRESS!!!!!!!!!! This kind of thing DRIVES me NUTS!!!!

Breakfast was good - 1/2 c egg beaters w/cheese/chives & 2 low carb whole wheat mission tortillas. Hadn't tried them but only 1 pt each and 8 g Fiber. They were GOOD!! Added 1/6 C ff mozzarella (out of cheddar). The one I put salsa on was better. So 2 burritos, 4 pts.

Off to exercise while DH is at work for a couple of hours.

Congrats on winning the ice cream battle. I know sometimes it feels like you fight for every minute!

Your breakfast sounds so yummy--I love those mission tortillas! They're so tasty and all that fiber is great.

Good job getting your exercise done, even if you didn't really want to. Keep up the good work!

You can do it!! :cheer2:

Today has been a good day - except for the camera thing - but I'm exhausted! I did the WATP and then DD and I took Mia to Bark in the Park. I decided I didn't want to mess with parking so we walked. About a mile each way and home is all up hill.

Lunch was a roll up - 15 more fibers and only 4 pts, plus a WW 2 pt choc mint bar. DD fixed Mac & chz w/ ham & peas for dinner so I had a LC mac & cheese with some salsa and some turkey. only 7 pts total.

They all went to see Hitchikers Guide movie and I had a No pudge bar (in the bathtub with a book :teeth: Now I'm catching up on computer and having a cup of the ice cream I wanted last night. 10 fibers and only 2 pts for a cup. Once I finish Dis I need to do ebay . And I still have 1.5 pts left (I don't eat my exercise pts).

Despite it all my scale has gone WAY up - SEVEN pounds over where I was Thurs morning. It HAS to be water, but it is very depressing and now is when I get tempted to say 'oh well' and eat everything in sight. I MUST NOT!!!

Edit: I'm sitting here having a cup of decaf and finishing ebay and just realized I forgot all about TTNW. I really will be with my DSis this time next week. We will get up early and hit garage sales - her favorite pastime. Then her 2 grown girls and my DD will go out to breakfast at Denny's(I have $50 in Gift Certs I bought for a gym trip and didn't use). After that we'll probably take a nap and just hang out. In the evening we are planning a surprise Bday party for Dsis. Her day is the 15th, but we will convince her that my DD needs to at least swim in a pool while in FL so we will go out to her younger DD's house and have a surprise party. I'm hoping my Bro from near Ft Myers/Naples can make it up, too. Dsis will of course cry - a lot! And if (no WHEN) she does, so will I. We'll have a cook out and I called the Baskin Robbins in Lakeland and ordered her a sugar free ice cream cake - she's diabetic. When DNiece gets too tired (she's expecting) we'll all leave and head back to DSis's where DSis and I will stay up and talk most of the night. I'll probably be having a cup of decaf about now even tho it will be almost 11:30 p.m. in FL. When we just can't stay awake any more, we'll reluctantly go to bed.

I am SO BUMMED about the scale. This a.m. I'm up 3.5 lbs from where I was Thurs Morning, and I've stayed OP, exercised and done well. But.....given the mood I was in yesterday, plus teary, I'm guessing MAYBE TOM is coming. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

I was really trying hard to get that last 2 lbs off before I go to my DSis this Friday, but I just can't envision it happening now. I'm so depressed, but this too shall pass. I'm NOT going to let it make me quit.

Breakfast was 1/2 c egg beaters (1), 1 sm sausage (1), 1 mission tortilla (1) 1/4 c obrien potatoes & 1/6 C ff chz (1). I told everyone they're on their own for lunch as breakfast was at 10:15. Dinner DH is going to grill. I'll have FF hot dogs, melon and corn on the cob. I want to save some points for Ice Cream. It was really yummy.

Off to WalMart to buy those Hot Dogs, then home to clean, ebay and PACK!!!

TTNW: I'll be up early as I always am, probably have coffee with my BIL. Morning will be spent chatting and getting DD ready for her fencing competition. We'll be busy with that from about 12 - 5, so not sure what else will go on - especially since it's mother's day. I'm sure we will stay up WAY too late again talking as Monday we have to leave for home.

I'm hanging in there.
Lunch was a roll up - 4 pts, then I had a SF peanut butter "ghost" out of my freezer (3 pts) Dinner will be 2 FF hot dogs(2) melon (1), corn on the cob (1), vegetarian beans (2) and later I'll likely have a cup of the FF SF ice cream(2 ) That still leaves me with 3 pts left for the day. I have the munchies, but not really hungry. I'm still working on my water.

DH ran to get gas so I managed to fit in my 2 mi WATP. I need to walk Mia tonight as she slept SO MUCH BETTER last night after her 2 mile jaunt. Good for me, too.

I have the cover for the Epee tube planned and mostly cut out. Hopefully it will work and my sewing machine which I rarely use will cooperate. It's fairly new - hasn't really been broken in, but is about 6 - 7 years old. I just don't sew enough. I'd like too!

I'm sure this week is going to FLY by. My washing machine has been leaking ( thru the tub) if I soak anything for more than a few minutes and last night for 3 loads it made horrible noises. I guess it's time to call my home warranty people. Hopefully I won't have to spend a lot of waiting time for them to come out. It's not very old, but I do a lot of loads.

Time to run get dinner.....

I will be good, I will stick with this, I will succeed, even if it takes a LONG time!!

Today promises to be busy. I was 3 pts short yesterday - just couldn't eat it all. Managed a 20 - 30 min walk with Mia last night so she slept well. I didn't, but oh well.

Breakfast is Kashi crunch mixed in lt yogurt (4). Then I'm off to try to buy the closure stuff to do the Epee bag. It's cut out, but I'm hesitating on what to close with. I'm afraid grommets & a drawstring might get ripped thru too easily. I was going to use the plastic clippie things like on luggage, but I'm now leaning toward industrial strength velcro. The cap is basically salad plate size with a lip hanging down, so I think velcro would work.

I have a list of about 20 things to get done today, but I WILL EXCERCISE at some point. I'm planning on the 3 mile, but will do at least the 2 mile.

Lunch I"m sure will be a roll up. I love that carb down flat out bread. DD and DH will have leftover hot dogs/burgers on the way to fencing. Not sure what I'll do.

DSis had her Picc line put in this morning. They had some trouble with the wire, but she said it wasn't too bad. Tomorrow is her Chemo education course and Wed 1st Chemo. She said if she wears 3/4 length sleeves the picc can't be seen, so I guess I need to hit the mall and try to find her a couple of cute tops for her Bday.

I still am blue, didn't sleep well, and the weight isn't moving, but I must persist. I'm almost 45 and every one of my 5 siblings became diabetic at 48. I want to be the exception. The one who was a runner was the first, tho, so I'm not going to be overly optimistic. My oldest DSis had cholesterol in the 800's at age 40 and has had artery replacement done .....TWICE (she's now 56). No heart attacks, but my mom's chol was always over 400 on meds. I take the lowest dose of lipitor just as a preventative, but have never had high chol. Hopefully won't. I want to stay healthy and lose, but gosh it sure is a LONG TRIP!!!!

Friday will be here soon. TTNW we will hopefully be at a beach near Tampa as my DD thinks it must be against the law to go to FL and not see the beach. Then it's off to the airport to fly home. I'm not looking forward to the home flight as we have a stop somewhere between TPA and El Paso, then change planes in El Paso. The up and down I don't like. Oh well......

Yesterday was NOT a good day. Breakfast was fine, Lunch was fine, but after lunch the frustration took hold. UGH!!!!!!!!! I ate the filling out of 8, yes EIGHT, peanut butter oreos. Gave the cookies to the Lab. Then I needed salty, ate much of a bag of baked chips. Then I wanted sugar again. had 1 small biscotti. ENOUGH!!!!! Dinner I ate 3 bites of real mac & cheese. Then I had a WW choc. 1 pt cake thing and 2 pieces of Sugar Free candy.

At that point I decided I'd better go to bed before I did any more damage.

Needless to say the scale is up even more. I got in my water, barely. Wanted to drink my green tea, but found that the container was growing some small black dots of mold. YUCK!!!!!!

To really end the day on a great note, DH came in from taking DD fencing and the transmission in our van went out. We knew it was slipping and took it to another Kia dealer in town, closer and take appts. They insisted nothing was wrong, but wanted us to spend $300+ for a transmission flush (which we pd $89 for elsewhere). It should be under warranty, but DH has to take it in and may not have time. So, we may be riding to the airport with the top of my bug down and stuff piled WAY high. That will be fun......NOT!! But oh well.....

I did do the 3 mi WATP yesterday, but didn't get the chance to take Mia for her walk. She wasn't a real good sleeper last night because of no walk, either.

Today I have to get brave and start sewing while there is light. Just not enough in my dining/living area after the sun goes down.

I MUST behave today....

Today has been fairly Ok.

Breakfast was Keva (4) lunch Kashi (4) and Revival Soy(2)

Had 1 slice lt brd with turkey about 5 (1.5)

Dinner - late for us about 7 - was at Sweet Tomatoes. I had : lettuce, spinach, tomato, cucumber, pepper (0),a couple bites of caesar asiago - (1.5)
low fat dressing (2), focaccia (2), peach cobbler (4) a couple spoons of vanilla yogurt (1)

So I'm just on points for the day.

Did the 3 mi WATP.

Spent forever in the car running to stores trying to find the size velcro for DD's fencing mask strap, then DH needed me to follow him to take the van in and then take him back to work, then pick DD up at school, then get DH after work.

I did manage to get the bag part sewn. Not bad, the round bottom is a bit funky, but oh well.

Now it's time to hit ebay then bed.

Isn't it frustrating when the scale doesn't cooperate? And why does it take us a week to lose a pound or two, but they can go back on overnight? Believe me, you are not alone in this struggle!! Actually, I think you are doing pretty well. Sure a few slips, but they could have been much worse and you caught yourself. When your life is busy, it is hard to stay the course all the time.

Hope you get the van problem fixed soon. I had to laugh about your impending trip to the airport in your bug. Picture it: You and your DD are driving down the road in a bug with the top down. The epee case is standing tall, your luggage is piled high........while your DD's hair is blowing in the wind as she leans over the back of the seat trying to keep that overstuffed suitcase full of maternity clothes for your neice closed. At the same time she is holding on to that bridesmaids dress that is flapping in the wind as well.:rotfl2: What a sight. Let's hope the van gets fixed.

Good work on the exercise. Even though heredity is a major factor in our body makeup, I know that you can change things around. My DH's parents had diabetes, so he is at a greater risk along with his siblings. But I must say, he is in better shape than they are and he has far fewer problems, so hopefully he will sneak by. His aunt has diabetes as well, but it is not as severe as it was with his parents and she is able to control it with her diet and she is 78. You have a great motivator here, just keep doing all the right things and you will make it! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I went to WW - up .4. I know I'm doing the right thing, but it's still frustrating. Hopefully next week will be better - at least I wasn't up the 4 lbs I was earlier in the week. Still no TOM, and I'm sure that would help things out. Oh well......

I must look at the positive and even with today's gain I'm still down over 26 lbs since I started WW.

All I have left on the epee case is a couple of snaps. FINALLY!!!

The van isn't going to be back, so we will be going to the airport in the bug. It will be an experience!! I have the epee case 4 suitcases, 2 -3 carryons + 3 people.

Food was ok today. I ate my scones - BOTH of them - 12 pts. had a ww 2 pt bar at the spa. Dinner was salad and one slice of veggie pizza. 2 pts over, but I usually don't use my 35 flex points, so ok.

Just finished my 3 MI and woking on my water.

I'm going to try to stay up to print our boarding passes at midnight. tomorrow will be a full day. I think I'll pick up subs for us to eat on the plane.
I usually don't plan food, but I need to for tomorrow.

I'm going to take my Dvd with me so maybe I can get at least one exercise in.

I'm back!!!!!! And exhausted..

And the scale today is right where it was when I left. WHEW!!! Friday I was 5 pts under, Saturday 5 over. Sunday.....well......Stress, tired and Mother's Day and I didn't even bother to keep track. After fencing I took Dsis & her hubby to Chilis and we had an awesome blossom (95 pts if you ate the whole thing)- I easily could, but didn't. Monday I only ate twice, but had bad snacks. Breakfast was a left over chicken quesadilla piece of DD's, then DD and I had starbucks in the airport and a caramel apple bar - they must be a kajillion points. Then since we left at 12:20 NM time and didn't get land til 6:40 NM time we picked up Chilis to go at the airport. I had a chicken sandwich - didn't know it came w/ cheese and mayo. and some fries. Then I had a pkg of ritz on the plane. Oh well..... Water and fiber were very slim the whole time and I'm paying for it.

Dsis is doing remarkably well. She looks good and except for crying even more than usual hasn't had any side effects from the Chemo. Today is day 6 and they expect hair loss between day 10 and 15. Her 54 Birthday is 5/15 and I'm really hoping & praying she doesn't lose her hair ON her birthday. She has a couple of really nice wigs ready.

Saturday morning as predicted we went to garage sales. Dniece 2 who is expecting got some really nice baby equipment. Breakfast at Denny's as planned. We were then going to take a nap, but my Brother in Naples came up (part of the surprise bday party for Dsis). Dniece 1 took me to see her wedding dress and then we all headed out to DNiece2's for a cookout and party.

Sunday DD slept in and we had to get to fencing early. I had 1/2 a cookie I had on the plane for breakfast and coffee. Old habits die hard. Fencing was unorganized for a regional tourn. and there ended up being only 2 girls so they fenced boys. The girls never even got to fence. DD dislocated her thumb on the last bout, but was able to pop it in herself. It's sore and wrapped, but Ok (gives her a visible reason for being sick from school yesterday, tho :teeth: ) She got 1st of the girls and 8th of the whole group.

Neither DNiece would let DSis drive to tampa (about 35 min) so DNiece1 took off at noon to take us to airport. The flights were very full and took forever. Tampa to San Antonio to El Paso to Abq.

Then home to reality.....house was totalled. Mia(who only weighs 5 lbs) gained almost 1/2 lb while I was gone which probably had something to do with food being left all over the house in her reach. No one in my family even mentioned Mother's Day which torked me off, but what's new.

Today is catch up on ebay, clean, laundry, grocery, etc. I am about to go do my 3 mi watp.

More later. Hope y'all had a good weekend. I'm hoping to catch up on my Dis reading tonight!

Today the scale was down 1 lb from yesterday, but still up from WI last week a tad. It always is, but I'm hopeful for a downward move for tomorrow. At least the .4 I gained last week would be nice.

DD's thumb is hurting so she is seeing the Dr at 11:30. I'm just praying it isnt fractured and if it is that we are a SHORT time casted or whatever. I REALLY don't want it to be a problem for our trip to Discovery Cove or the wedding. Time will tell......

Today is my liquid day. Really a test for me as I had to take DH to work (we left his cycle there last night as he had picked up the van and can't drive 2 vehicles) and on the way back picked up 2 doz Krispy Kremes for the kids for a couple days breakfasts, etc. I put 2 in a baggie for me for Thurs after WI and Friday. I will NOT succumb to the power of the donut!

These next 2 weeks are going to FLY. DH leaves Sunday for Phoenix and won't be back til the following Sat. Next F - S is our community Garage Sales sponsored by a Realtor who gives out prizes, advertises, etc. DH will be gone, but thankfully DD will be out of school to help.

We're down to 45 days til DD and I get on the train for FL. I'm thinking I need to revise my goal as I can't imagine my losing about 12 lbs in 6 wks. Some can, but my body just doesn't usually. Oh well, I will lose some and that is what matters. If I can't fit the dress I want to wear, I will wear the one I bought for last year's wedding.

Time to start doing more catching up..... Later!

Hope you have a great day!

Glad to see that the scale is moving back down so you can get back on track. I think you are right in adjusting your goal to something that is realistic for you to meet before the wedding. It will make things much easier for you.

Hope DD's thumb is better soon. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I tried to do liquids today, but fell apart about dinner time. I just needed food. Had most of a head of cauliflower w/ spices, a roll up w/ turkey, tomato and banana pepper and some baked chips. I'm still well within plan, so not concerned about having food.

After my 3 mi WATP I used my hawaiian ice machine and filled a cup with that and CF diet pepsi. VERY cooling and good. Definitely doing fine on the liquids today.

I'm almost done w/ ebay today and I've done 10 of my reviews for Insider Pages (I already got my 4 free Starbucks cards, now I'm working on $100) Easy for writing about businesses I know.

DS is on his way home from gym and I need to wash his work clothes. Tomorrow I start preparing for the GSale.

Today has NOT been a good day.....

I was doubled over in stomach pain from 6 p.m. until almost 3 a.m. then up by 6.

The Krispy Kreme I put back for me ended up both being eaten for breakfast. NOT a good move.

DS19 called around 8 and needed me to bring a gas can as he had run out of gas and left his car in a parking lot yesterday. Got there and he managed to get more on the ground than in the tank, of course blamed me. Thanks for helping, mom .....NOT!!!
By the time I finished with him, I had missed WW.

So, I decided to go shopping. I need to find a pair of knit, sleeveless, darker(non see thru) color pajamas with shorts to wear on the train. I don't want to feel like I need to get dressed to go potty in the night. Went to Ross..... NOTHING for me, but found a bunch for DS15 and DD. As usual. I did find a couple of new WATP DVD's and bought them. They had a lot of fitness DVDs.

By this time I was craving Taco Bell. I didn't go, but came home and made a plate of baked chips,, cheese and salsa. Out of FF cheese so I used real. Then I saw a TWIX bar and ate it.

Didn't have time to exercise before getting DD. She tried on clothes and we decided to return/exchange some. Just left home and she had forgotten to have a snack. Stopped at A&W. It was 99c float day. So we each had a float and split an order of Cheese curds - fried white cheddar w/ ranch dressing. VERY tasty, but VERY NOT GOOD!

Back to Ross, found board shorts she liked, but not her size. Went to the other Ross, then Burlington Coat Factory. Still Nothing for me, but more for her. Finding shorts that pass the Dad-o-meter isn't really easy.

Finally back home. Kids had mac & cheese w/ jalapenos and chicken nuggets. I ate 2 nuggets and some salt & vinegar chips. Now I'm having coffee and had a small biscotti.

Didn't hear back from the Dr. today about DD's thumb. BOY is she Cranky! I'll call in the morning. If either she or I or both don't get TOM soon, I think we'll kill each other.......

Tomorrow is another day..... I will exercise and eat normally. I stepped on the scale when I put on my jammies and weighed less than last night.....GO FIGURE!!! Morning may not be so kind.

Today will be a better day! (Could I get much worse than yesterday????)

Just heard from the DR and DD's thumb isn't broken. Still hurts, but she will just have to deal with it.

I'm got a ton of errands and other stuff to get done this weekend, but will simply have to prioritize. There is no way I'm really finishing it all. Such is life. DH leaves Sunday late, so the garage will have to be ready for Friday. That is a definite.

DSis still has hair and it's day 9. I'm still hoping and praying she makes it thru Sunday with hair.

I will likely try out one or more of my new WATP dvd's today. I don't think the 4 mile will be the one, tho. Just don't think I"m ready for that.

Breakfast was Kashi & yogurt (4). Lunch will be a Lean Cuisine or WW meal as I need to empty some space in my freezer. Dinner will be some ribs I bought and veggies.

Have an awesome Friday the 13th!!

So far so good today. I've had 64oz water and did my new WATP Walk Strong. 2 miles and 32 min, but it has strength training in between the walking - squats, lunges, bicep curls, tricep stuff, etc. Boy are my thighs sore. I need to try them all then fix a schedule rotating thru them.

Lunch I had LC chicken enchilada suiza(6), 6 salt & vinegar chips(1) (which I only can stand certain times of the month....hmmmmm) and for a snack had 2 slices of turkey (1)

That leaves me 10 pts for dinner.

Just picked up DD, have to finish boxing and go mail ebay. Hopefully will have a few minutes down time before DH gets home.

Saturday was again not a real great day.

DD and I had to run to costco, then to the mall.
Breakfast was a scone and decaf from the coffee shop. Not bad - 6 pts

Lunch was a roll up from Costco. Small slice (3 pts). Still ok

While at the mall, in the dressing room w/ DD AMTRAK calls. Another change in our FL trip. Since their schedule update in April our connection time in DC on the return was reduced to just over an hour. So, they changed our train. We now leave Orlando at 4 instead of 7:45. Not a big deal. But, I had to go to the station and reticket that portion...or so they said, said it would take about 5 min.

Finally found DD a top to go with her skirt for the rehearsal dinner. After looking at every store I finally found 2 prs of pjs for the trip. On the train I needed something that looked more like an outfit to make the middle of the night potty runs. Paid more than I really wanted, but they are nice from Dillards. DD is finally having a miserable TOM and cried most of the time. What fun!

So back home to drop stuff off. Had another roll up- so 12 pts for the day. DD decided she wanted to run with me to Amtrak since it wouldn't take long. By now it's almost dinner time, she hasn't eaten and her blood sugar has dropped, so we stopped at SONIC. OOPS!!!! So, I had 6 chili cheese fries and a Sonic blast for dinner. It sure was yummy, but not the best thing. Get to Amtrak and the agent says he has to reprint all of our tickets (12 total) and reprice. No extra cost to me, but the computer has to have it. Took almost an hour. DD was miserable and NOT a happy camper.

DH tried to rent her Racing Stripes, but they were of course out.

My scale was actually down another pound this morning. (Maybe I should try the Sonic diet????) I'm actually a tiny bit below what I was at WW before the .4 gain. Hopefully it will continue to move.

Still no TOM, but I am almost 45. I feel like I should, but.....My DSis and mom finished completely at age 38. Whew...almost 45, that's scary - I used to think that was old. I don't feel old.....I don't look old......hmmmmmm........

I've decided to make my goal before FL (6/25) a bit more reachable for me. My new goal is to make my WW 10%. I am very said that I lost the 10% keychain I originally had - I use it to hold the outer billfold on purses shut when travelling and in Houston, I spilled starbucks in my purse so washed it and it tore and then threw it away. I'm 99.9% sure I threw my keychain away. So, I want the keychain to hold my purse closed, and I just want to make SOME goal. Very slow loss is typical for my, but also very frustrating. So, by ww scale a week and a half ago I was 173. 10% is 167.6. I should be 172 on their scale right now, so I would need to lose 4.4 lbs in 41 days. Can I do that? I sure hope so!!

No exercise yesterday except for shopping. My quads are still remarkably sore from doing the Walk Strong DVD. I think that one will have to be 1x week for a while. After DH leaves for the airport later I will do the Walk & Kick I just bought.

I'll rethink my next small goal after FL. I'd like to be able to be 160 or less by my bday, but since I'll only be home for 19 days before, I think I'll be lucky to have the FL weight off by then. We'll see. I'm not going to obsess over my weight/eating while gone. The food on the train is going to be rough. 3 meals a day and wonderful desserts are included. I've decided I can't eat any breakfast other than the oatmeal/fruit/yogurt and only a little of the oatmeal. The other meals I'm convincing myself I can eat all the veggies, but only half of anything else at most. Time will tell. I will definitely get my water in and I've been trying to prepare DD that when we have breaks between trains we will spend it walking NON STOP.

More later. Everyone here is still sleeping, so I'm vegging at the computer and thinking.

Breakfast was 2 wheat tortillas (2) 1/2 c eggbeaters (1) 1/3 c ff chz (1)

Lunch a roll up (4) & chips (2)

Dinner the leftover baked potato and broccoli/cheese (5) 1/3c leftover mac & chz (2)

then I had a ww 1 pt bar and a biscotti w/ coffee (3).

2 pts left.

Still haven't gotten my exercise in, but as soon as I'm done here, I'll do my ebay, then do the walk & kick. Then hopefully fairly early to bed. I'm bushed!!

Early to bed did NOT happen, but I will move on.

I did the Walk Kick WATP last night. I think it is more of a workout in 30 min than the 3 mile. My quads are still killing me - worse now. Oh well.

When DH is gone, DD likes to sleep with Mia and I. After I exercised at 9 she turned on Disney and started watching the movie on. About 5 min into it she realized one of her molars was really loose, started messing with it, got it tipped sideways and then couldn't budge it. She then cried from about 9:30 until midnight trying to get it out, but wouldn't let me. At midnight I told her she needed to just go into the bathroom & keep quiet if she wouldn't go to sleep. About 12:30 she finally gave up. UGH!!!

Other than tired and extremely busy today, I must behave. The scale stayed down what it was yesterday, so maybe it's really a loss.

Breakfast is just like yesterday, so 4 pts. Not sure what lunch will be as I'm out of my flat out bread. With all the running I have to do late this afternoon/evening, I'm guessing dinner will be starbucks. I'm going to hopefully save 6 pts for it and a little for something of substance.

We now leave in 40 days. I sure hope I can see something measurable in weight loss by then. I just looked back at my 2003 WW booklet from when I had first joined. I'm only about 2 lbs below where I was 2 years ago. But, I also see that right around where I am now is where I kept bouncing back to and where I had a hard time losing. I guess my body likes this weight. I look back and remember my birthday in 2003 was a WI day, I had tried to hard and gained .8 that day. I then cried all day long. I was 166.6. It took me from 7/30 - 10/16 to lose 4 lbs and then I gained most of it back.

I will NOT do this again. I am exercising daily now and haven't in many years, but I'm just not seeing changes or weight loss. Hopefully I'll begin seeing something soon.

Have a great day!

Clare

Today didn't go as planned, either.....sigh!

Food was fine and I got in my water & exercise, but the rest....well....

Lunch was an LC dinner 5 pts.

I thought I was taking DD to fencing so grabbed more water and 2 lt bread and 2 turkey (2 pts)

Paid the cell bill, went to the credit union. Got to the gym to pick up the $300 of frozen food I ordered (DS was fundraising and they all love Red Wheel). Pick up was from 4:30 - 6:30. I arrived at 4:40 and the food was nearly thawed. It has always been ROCK HARD. So no fencing as DD and I had to bring it all home to the freezer. She will go tomorrow and Wed instead. On the way home I stopped and she got starbucks and I got Keva (4 pts). With my 5 pts left I had 2 in Sixlets and will have 1 - 2 in popcorn (we finally got racing stripes & it was free b/c it was a guaranteed rental and all out on Sat). I'll have something protein for the rest.

Did the 3 mi WATP. Tomorrow I will be brave and try the walk strong again....maybe!

Hopefully we will all get some sleep tonight. Tomorrow is ebay, get some stuff ready for the Garage Sale F - S, Fencing, help DS with school.

DDs last day is Thurs and since they haven't done anything is over 2 wks but watch movies ( just what does Bug's Life have to do with math?) I think she will miss Thurs and we will try to get our zoo trip in after my WW WI. If we can do it fairly quickly, we will still have time to set up for the GSale.

Sleep was even less last night than the one before. Mia decided she needed to protect the world and every sound she heard from 10:30 - 12:30 she made a mad dash out from under covers to the end of the bed, barked & growled once at the door then made a dash back under covers. UGH!! She finally slept after I took her out at 12:30, but after that I was up every hour. Finally gave up when the sun started peeking over the mountain at 5:00

A year ago last march our sewage pump went out and flooded part of the downstairs, including DD's room. At the time we took all her stuff and put in boxes on our sunporch. Well, she's never gotten around to unboxing. So, to get ready for the sale had DS bring a huge rubbermaid container up. It was her stuffed animals. Under the top layer was COVERED in mouse droppings. SO DISGUSTING!!! Of course she isn't ready to part with all of the animals, so we are now sorting, washing, etc. It doesn't look like anything was chewed, just a warm home for winter I guess. Makes me not want to see the other 3 containers.

I am SO tired, but have so much to do before Friday to get ready for the sale and run kids that I have to keep going. Tired, plus 8 tubs of cookie dough in my freezer & refrigerator and baby cheesecakes is going to be a challenge.

Breakfast was same as last 2 days, but I'm now out of my tortillas, too. I really need to work in a grocery run.

I've started on my water and I'll do my exercise as soon as DS heads to work. I'd love a nap, but don't think it's going to happen.

Racing Stripes was really cute!

More later if I'm awake!

To try to avoid the need for comfort foods due to the sleepies, lunch was an old standby. 5 hard taco shells (5), a smidge of refried beans and a few pieces of shredded mozzarella on each (1) with LOTS of salsa. And a CF Diet Pepsi and CF Diet Mountain Dew.

Then since I was about to collapse I took a 30 min nap. it helped a little.

I did get my exercise in this morning - did the WATP Walk Strong. Boy those squats & lunges are killers!

Just had my revival soy(2) so I have 10 left for tonight. Nothing sounds good, just sleep, so I'm not sure what I'll have. DD just had a frozen burrito that we picked up last night. She was in line the whole lunch period and never got any food. That's why she normally carried her lunch, but with 2 days to go, didn't want to fix it. Now she has a ticket for today unused that she will have to exchange tomorrow and maybe have time to get food. This school is SO unorganized. They still have until p.m. Thurs and they turned in all gradeson the 2nd. It is just a waste of time and a babysitting job for the poor teachers. I'm not sure how they can justify these as 'instructional days'.

Fencing will run until about 8:30, so by the time we get home and things done (and puppy worn out) it won't be early bed night. Oh well.... After this weekend life will slow down a bit. Hopefully!

Oh I'm so with you on sleep sounding really good. :) I'm having a hard time trying to convince myself to workout tonight. I have a rest day tomorrow...maybe I'll just use my rest day today instead.

I'm sorry your DD is having trouble with the food line. We had that same problem in my high school. I went to a school of 4,200 students with about 4 lunch periods. I'd be in line for food almost the entire period if I wasn't fortunate enough to get there within the first couple minutes (and in a huge school, that's pretty impossible). So I can totally empathize. I hope she gets time for food tomorrow!!

Went to fencing, dropped DD off so I could run and meet DS to help him buy Green Day concert tickets. Got about a mile away and she called. She forgot to bring fencing shoes, so no fencing tonight which means we may need to go Thurs when I need to be setting up my GSale. Oh well....

Did get a quick WalMart grocery run in and stopped at Sam's for milk. DS was done with gym and hungry so talked me into buying a 2 1/2 lb block of chipotle cheddar cheese, some chicken jalapeno salsa sausages (these I might be able to try, 2 pts eacha and they are bigger than a hot dog) and a tray of shrimp cocktail. DD and I had stopped at Keva and I had a smoothie (4) and then had 5 shrimp with DS (2). I still have 4 pts and I'm not sure what I want. I found some SF Rice pudding cups at WM so might have one of those (2) and the best news.....

SAMS now has individual bags of BAKED LAYS!!!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!! I was dancin in the aisles! 2 pts a bag and they are my fav :cheer2:

I'm gonna get some sleep tonight even if I have to take some benadryl to do it.

Talked to DSis today and she is starting to lose her hair. Said she cried this morning, but is better tonight. She's off work tomorrow and going to get a very short cut. Said her white count is low so they're giving her antibiotics until next Chemo a week from tomorrow. Not real low, just a little. Other than that she's doing well. Not really been tired or anything. She can't look at it as 14wks to go she is just telling herself 5 more times. soon 4 more.

Lots to do tomorrow so best get today's list done.

Today is my liquid day and I'm afraid it's not going to be easy. Last night was a bit better sleep, but still only about 5 hours. Got up, stepped on the scale and all was good, still the same, double checked and the same. Less than 30 min later stepped on again before I showered and was UP FOUR POUNDS!!!! I HATE my body! I feel really ick today so MAYBE there will finally be TOM.

REALLY depressing as WI is tomorrow. I missed last week and the week before I was up .4.

I'm exercising , eating all my points, drinking my water and nothing seems to be happening. I tried on clothes yesterday and can't see a difference in any. I will keep going, but at this moment in time, a big binge on sweets then anything I can find sounds really good. I won't tho. I just can't.

I have 38 days until we get on the train. I REALLY REALLY want to hit my WW 10% by then. Officially on their scale 167.6. That is likely 167 or a bit less on my scale. Seems like FOREVER away at this moment. I'm not sure I can even make that realistically. When I started WISH I had 94 days to go. In 56 days I've lost a whopping 2.8 lbs. :sad2: UGH!!! That is SO SLOW!!!!! About a pound a month.

I'm having my decaf w/ ff creamer now. Later I'll have a Kashi for breakfast. Today will be a mixture of Kashi & Keva until I've used my 22 pts. I can have a total of 5 + my revival soy. Just need to space them so I don't get hungry and binge.

OK, time to get off my pity party and get things done. As long as I don't chew today I'll stay on track.

Just back from WI. I was in such a hurry as I've got so much to do before I pick DD up at school that I'm 99.9% certain I forgot to take my shoes off. It hit me when I was half way home. I've never weighed w/ shoes before.

According to their scale I'm down 1 lb. Not a lot, but something. It took me 3 wks to take of .6, but at least it's off, not on.

Their scale is usually about .6 higher than mine, but I actually saw for a fleeting moment 169.5 this morning. Really was 170 unclothed, 170.5 dressed for WW and there 172. I'm pretty certain shoes were involved, so hopefully will be a change next week. I need a pound a week to make my 10% by our trip. Doesn't sound like much, but it is for me.

Just having breakfast - kashi & yogurt 4. Today is DD last day of school and I'm picking her up at noon and going out to lunch, then home to work on GSale for tomorrow. Not sure where she will want to go, but I'm thinking Zio's. I love their salad with artichoke & shrimp. It's 10 pts if I ate it all, but I can't do that at once, so will be lunch & dinner if I win the choice.

Off to package ebay stuff. I'll do the 3 mi WATP sometime today. I was going to do Walk Kick but decided it was only 30 min and I need shorter tomorrow.

Today was NOT as planned. Picked DD up at school and she thought we were going to the zoo. After much cajoling, I agreed to a QUICK zoo trip. Went to mail my pkgs, grabbed a subway wrap. Got to the zoo about 12:30. Told her we had to be leaving by 3. Walked out of the zoo at 2:45 and my bug wouldn't start. Tried to first, then silence. I figured I was locked out of the security key. Called the dealer, no. Called the roadside assist and they called popalock to jump me. They arrived at 4. Didn't work. Called back, they called a tow truck which arrived at 6. Meantime the zoo closed. We sat outside with my water jug and a small bag of sunchips we shared. Fortunately the tow driver could take us with him to the dealer. w/ traffic arrived at the dealer at 6:50- they closed at 7. By the time we finished paperwork was almost 7:30. Their last shuttle leaves at 5 p.m. Called DS19 and he was able to get us as DH is in phoenix and we had no way to get home. Walked to Cracker barrel across the interstate to get food to go. Promised DS19 food and $5 gas money. all DD had all day was the sub, a cookie and chips, + water. I had my breakfast, wrap and cookie, so wasn't doing much better.

Finally made it home about 8:15, inhaled way more food than I needed - pepper jack chicken, hash brown casserole, green beans, carrots and even a biscuit. But at this point, I really don't care. I've done NOTHING to get my Garage Sale set up and won't til morning. I'm sunburned. Sat outside - it was almost 90 today. There was shade, but not much. We did walk for about 2 hours at the zoo, but I didn't do any other exercise. Oh well......

Tomorrow has to be better. I don't know what all the food will do to my weight, but it can't be too bad. If it is, today I don't care anyway.

It's still almost 85 in my house and DH hasn't yet hooked up our swamp cooler, so no way to cool off. I had DS15 get my window fan out. Hopefully it will help. I'm gonna go take a cold shower and SLEEP!!

Worked on the garage sale from about 5:30a.m. and it is ready for tomorrow, the real day. Stayed open today til about noon, but it is 93 here and nearly that in my house.

Breakfast was 2 burritos w/ wheat tortillas and egg beaters w/ a smidge of salsa(4). ( I made poor DS15 ride his cycle to Albertson's at 8 this morning to buy me egg beaters so I could have them - what a good kid) Lunch a roll up w/ the flat out low carb bread (4) and a bag of baked lays (2). And 2 caffeine free, diet mountain dew.

My ice maker in the fridge just can't keep up with my demand today. And my car won't be done til at least Monday. They won't even get to look at it til late today or Mon. So, DD and I are stranded here til DH gets home about midnight. Not sure what dinner will be. It's too hot to eat, but don't have any cool foods like salad, melon, etc (or ICE CREAM) in the house. I'd love for DS15 to be able to bring us something cold, but I just can't imagine ice cream in his backpack on the cycle. Oh well..... Hope this heat wave passes soon. I usually don't turn my swamp cooler on til mid june and I sure would today if it were hooked up!

TOM finally arrived. Only 3+ weeks late. Gee, I love mid life!

DD and I watched Phantom this afternoon and lazed around. HAve a bit more to dig out tonight for the sale and hopefully early to bed if we can sleep in the heat. We need to be out at the sale around 6 a.m. I've got to have DH find our misters and hang by the garage. Tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter.

Have a great weekend guys! I'm off to try to convince myself that I CAN exercise even when the thermostat in my house just passed 95. UGH!!!!!

9 p.m.

Well I did my 3 mi WATP and the temp passed 100 in the house. I kept an ice block like for the cooler with me and kept putting it on my back held by my waistband and holding it on my neck. I just about melted.

Had a pretzel(6 for dinner) then some chips & meringue cookies(2).

I got brave enough to add up the crackerbarrel from yesterday. YIKES!!! I was 12 pts over. But since I don't use my flex pts and have 35/week, I'm not going to sweat it.

I feel really huge tonight. The heat is taking it's toll in water retention despite my having 128 oz water and 24 oz caffeine free diet pop, plus a cup of decaf coffee this morning. I'm afraid I'm gonna be up all night in the bathroom.

It's still 81 out and the thermostat finally dipped below 95 in here.

Gotta get up EARLY for the GSale. I think I'll go buy ice and some donuts so DD can sell pop and donuts tomorrow. I'll have to go REALLY early tho. And I can't imagine eating donuts in the heat, I think I'd rather have something that will stick with my instead of sugar..... hopefully my resolve will last.

More tomorrow if I have the energy.

GSale is over. Ok, not great, but I made about $168 for FL, so not bad. I'm sitting here on my computer watching the temp climb. When I sat down less than 10 min ago it was 88, it's now 94 and climbing (this is the official school weatherbug from up the hill about 4 blocks)

DH is home, exhausted from his trip - sat in class from 9 - 4 then off to eat & the bar. Oh well. He slept til noon when DD woke him to take her to the amusement park w/ her cousin. He's finally getting our swamp cooler up and running. Praise the Lord!!!

I probably won't exercise today as I really don't feel like dealing with the criticism. I need to run to the grocery and I'm going to bed early tonight.

I gave in to the donut (5), had a small muffin (3) and then the realtor sponsoring the sales (67 in my neighborhood) brought homemade chocolate chip cookies(4). I had one. Other than that I've had water.

I'm going to buy some salad stuff and have that w/ grilled chicken for dinner. I think.

This heat is supposed to break by Tues and be in the mid 70's by next weekend. Thank goodness!

Ran to costco, ate 2 rollups on the way home (6). Decided to take a bath and just got in when DD called and DH left to get her so I decided I needed to be good and exercise instead. Did the WATP walk kick.

Not sure what else I'll have tonight. probably salad as it's really hot!

Not sure what today will bring. Breakfast was Kashi & yogurt(4). Not sure about lunch or dinner. Today is my 23 anniversary. We might go out to eat toinght. DH hasn't said anything yet.

I need to clean out my garage and get things done in the house. Now I can really begin my FL countdown and start getting ready. 34 days to go. Exercise is doubtful, but I will if I get the chance.

Lunch was flat out bread with ff chz and peach mango salsa (4)

Still no idea about dinner. I'm almost done with laundry and need to go start cleaning up the garage. I'm still VERY tired. I had hoped to go to bed early, but when I wanted to at about 8:30 DH complained and said 'if you go to bed who will take care of the animals and kids'. So he went to bed at 8:45 and I at 10:30. I was up at 5:30, he at 8, then he went back to bed at 9:30 and got up at noon. Since he has a job for pay and I don't, I guess I don't need sleep. Oh well.....

Went to Asado for dinner. A brazilian grill. I'm not a meat person, but it was good. Big salad bar then they bring like 20 kinds of meats on skewers and slice you off a piece of whatever you want. I tried turkey w/ rosemary - didn't like so had a small taste. Chicken, took the skin off - maybe an ounce. Pork w/ parmesan. too dry - just a taste. Filet in bacon. Ate 2 pieces about 1 oz each. Bottom sirloin. Just a taste - too rich - more like a prime rib. DH tried everything. Then he needed ice cream. Coldstone creamery was next door. I had a small sinless sugar & fat free sweet cream w/ blueberries. He had a Large full of everything with strawberries. Don't know how he could hold it. Tracking my points I had 13 @ dinner. So within my points for the day. No exercise other than disassembling the garage sale. Had to count for something.

tomorrow I will let DD sleep in, but starting Tues we will walk every morning. Last summer we used to get up and walk in the desert - not something either of us should do alone. It's about a 4 mile path we take. I want to do it a couple times a week at least.

Time for sleep!

Hi Julie,

First I wanted to say :flower: THANK YOU :flower: for making me feel so very welcome here! I was reading your journal and through reading it I realized my life isnt' as stressed as I think...other people have stresses too, and this is a boost to me...so thank you again ;)

Moreover, I'm so impressed with your overall attitude to your life, your diet, and your goals...and still you find encouragement for others...amazing! :)

You are truly a woman to be looked up to, and I thank you for being here and sharing your life with all of us, but more so, I thank you for sharing a piece of yourself...your journal was so very personal, and to me, that's what made it so encouraging, and energizing!

I hope to continue to get to know you and call you my friend! :)

You're too sweet, Jen!

Breakfast was Kashi & yogurt again(4). Just a cool breakfast when it's so hot. Almost like ice cream!

Lunch I've gotta have another flat out w/ ff chz and the mango peach salsa(4). it is SO good I'll have to make a special trip across town to Costco to buy more.

Not sure about dinner as I'm doing the fencing run tonight and probably taking Mia to Yappy Hour.

Just did the 4 Mi WATP for the first time. It wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be. Now I can mix up my workouts. 55 min is more than I have time for most days, but the 3 mi is 46+ min, so not that much more.

Off to have lunch and run errands. Today I'm going to officially start packing for FL. YIPPEE!!!

DD and I leave in 33 days ( and hopefully I'll have my new clippie soon and my WW 10% by the time we go!)

Today promises to be interesting......

Got the bug back yesterday... FINALLY ....they said 3 things in my electrical system had failed, plus they did 2 recalls. Took DD to fencing, came out, and the little button I depress on my shifter was GONE!! Finally found it, got it in place so I could drive home, by the time I got home it had fallen out again and I couldn't put it into park. Called DH from the driveway and he brought a flashlight and finally got it in place so we could park. Then we found a greasy board on the leather seat in back, 2 rubber caps to somewhere and a plastic plate/cap thing with a cord attached and numbers on it. HMMMMM.........I can't WAIT to call the dealer!!

My washing machine is leaking - from the tub. Noticed water this weekend, just a bit, had DH move it out and it has apparently been leaking a while. The floor is COVERED with goo, mold, etc. Fortunately it's at the lower level, so concrete floors under the tile. It's a Maytag and only 10 yrs old, but I'd bet it's a goner. My home warranty people can't come out til Wed morn. At least whatever the problem is, even if replaced, it will only cost me $45.

Had Keva on the way to fencing last night and a roll up from Costco when I got home at 9, so under by 1 pt yesterday.

Tomorrow is my liquid day, so I'l likely have a lot of protein today, not positive, but I am having burritos for breakfast (4). I'm sure if there is any peach mango salsa left I"ll have to have that with something for lunch.

Need to cancel DD's dentist appt for Wed as it is at fencing time. Off to chew some VW butt!

So, what is this peach salsa you keep talking about??? Sounds INTERESTING! :)

Well, that was fun........NOT!!

Took the bug back to the dealer. As i parked the shifter button fell off again. Handed it to the service guy. The head of service came out, sat in the car, shoved the button in, then again REALLY HARD. Got it STUCK!!! So no hope of getting the car into park. Could turn in off in neutral, but key won't come out. Got the head service guy who said he could fix it. BROKE it off trying. So they decided I needed a rental car, fine. Took me to Enterprise and dropped DD and I off. They had NO cars. Went to lunch across the street at Sweet Tomatoes (11 pts) dilly dallied around, went back. Still no cars and they were 36 cars short. Said we could sit for another couple of hours and maybe something would show up. Called VW again. They got us took us back to the dealer. An hour later someone returned their VW rental and we got it. So, another 5+ hours gone with the car saga. They have no idea how long it will take to get an entire shift assembly in. Such is life. As long as I have transportation and it's covered by warranty, I really don't care.

Need to exercise and catch up on Ebay tonight. Won't get anything else done. Not sure what dinner will be, but not a lot - I have 8 pts left but am stuffed.

Had almost 2x my normal water, so far. DD is timing me and says I'm now in the bathroom every 7 minutes :confused3 Oh well.....

Ok, I've worked my way back down to my journal.

Last night I had a flat out w/ ff cheese and the rest of the salsa.

(Peach mango salsa by Rojos - come's refrigerated) I'd never tried fruit salsa until the fencing open house. The caterer brought Mango salsa she made ( 5 lb frozen mangos - puree 1/2. Puree 1 habanero pepper and 2 jalapenos. Chop the other half of the mangos fine with a bunch of cilantro diced and mix it all together) It was incredible!! But, I seldom cook and if I made that salsa for just us, I'd eat most of it, so...... I found this and it was good, too!

Today is my liquid day. They only had vanilla Kashi in 4 pks again. I WANT MY CHOCOLATE!!!!!! Tomorrow is WI and today I'm still up a pound from last week. VERY typical for me, which is why I do liquid the day before WI. It seems to help. I get all my points, just in liquid and I make sure it has a lot of fiber.

The washing machine guy is here. YEAH!!!

Had my first Kashi at 8. I'm hoping to make it til noon for #2. Then revival soy about 1. and a Keva (or 2) this evening when I take DD to DH to take to fencing.

Today I'll probably do the 4 mi WATP again if I have time. If not, definitely the 3 mile. Last night I did Walk Strong.

DD and I leave for FL 1 month from today! just 31 SHORT days!

I need to remember to make eye Dr. appts for DH and I so we can have our new glasses by the trip. Today I have to mail ebay and start getting my Living room back after the Gsale. My house is totalled!!

Today is DSis 2nd chemo. Hopefully it will go ok. She still has brows & lashes, but hair is gone gone. Her DD has her sonogram on the 31st. Hopefully they will be able to tell the sex. I can't wait. This is the kid that was born my Fresh year of college. My sister called after she was born and wanted to know how to spell Katie (she was going to spell it Cattie or Catty - UGH!!) Katie thanks me now!!

Time to get moving. Later.....

Well you've had kind of an adventure the last couple of days, haven't you? Thank goodness for warranties! I hope things get sorted soon for both the buy and the washer.

That salsa sounds incredible--I have got to find some!

Hopefully between all that water and liquid day today you should be able to get that stubborn pound flushed out!

That's so cool it's only 1 month to WDW! Time to start packing!!!

Sending :wizard: for you sis--hopefully she gets through this pretty easily. We did this with my mom 2 years ago, so let me know if you have any questions. That so great that you all have the good news of the baby to focus on!

Take care and have a wonderful day!!!

Washer guy left - said it's the tub seal and our home warranty people will call me to give me the option to fix or replace. Hmmmmm.......tough choice. If they will allow me enough, I"ll replace.

Had DS get the mail and my new WATP Abs that I got off ebay came. I may have to try that today instead of the 3 / 4 mile.

Also got the old movies I ordered for the train trip ....... The Cat from Outer Space, The Incredible Mr. Limpett (DD wants to be a marine biologist and is always saying "I wish I were a fish" , the original Dr. Doolittle, and The Ugly Dachshund. It makes me want to leave NOW!!!!!!!!

I am SO hungry this morning. Usually I'm not when I do liquid. Might not be an easy day. Oh well..... I CAN do this!!

Just got brave enough to try on clothes. The dress I want to wear for the wedding is ALMOST wearable. I could sit at least. Still a bit tight thru the middle/tummy as it shows a bit too many 'fat wrinkles', but closer. I have 31 days to go(and I need to allow a bit of room in case the train trip makes me grow). But, something must be doing something, tho I can't see it.

Funny thing is, now that it almost fits, I'm not sure I want to wear it. No big deal tho as it is a Casual Corner Dress I bought at a thrift store for 99c and it still had the $89 tags on it. I'll eventually wear it somewhere. My other dress from last years wedding would probably be cooler as it is sleeveless with a sheer jacket. The one I thought I'd like to wear is short sleeve , lined and linen. Wedding is July 2. It will be hot.

I REALLY have the munchies tonight. Just want to snack and I won't let myself because this is Liquid day. I'm still 7 points shy for today and I have another KEVA I just got out of the freezer(5). Don't know if I'll finish it. This one is Citrus sunrise - fresh oj, peaches, sherbert and some other fruit.

Right now the scale looks good, but I know from experience that the usual overnight loss for most people can be a big gain for me. Time will tell.

I finally finished Ebay. It went slow tonight as I was distracted by the munchies. Can't tell you how many trips I've made to the refrigerator to STARE at the tub of white macadamia cookie dough. It's been just begging me to reach in and grab a spoonful. NOT!!!!

I'm dying to actually start putting stuff into suitcases for the trip....my family already thinks I'm nuts, but oh well. Once we are under 30 days I can get away with it.

Tomorrow is WI, then grocery shopping. The small market has cantalopes 88c each, so will buy several. That's 1 fruit I can stand. I think I'll take DD to the mall and we can go to Victorias Secret and try on Bras. Just got their sale catalog, but not really sure what size either of us need. Such fun! She's WAY too shapely for 13. I will definitely exercise and would love a nap. doubtful tho.

Dsis white count was down, but not too bad. Was actually up a bit from a week ago. Dr. gave her a shot of Procrit to help w/ the possibility of infection. 2 Chemo down, 4 to go. As she said, she's almost "half way to hair". The baby on the way and the older Daughter's wedding are great distractions at this point.

Hi Julie! :wave2:

You sound so much like my mom with wanting to pack so soon. Our family trip isn't til September and I wouldn't be suprised if she's already started packing........or at least has a list of things to pack. I'm always excited but I'm also a last minute packer. You are doing so well with your plan! I'm very excited for you.

Hope you have a great.....and healthy..........day!

Hi, Julie! I can DEFINITELY relate to the desperate to pack stuff! I can usually appease myself by making lots of lists -- there is usually a packlist for each person, then a general items packlist, then a list of grocery items to buy near home, and a list of grocery items to buy near the hotel (perishables and heavy stuff like bottled water). Then I do a table in word processing that has each day of the week that we are going to WDW, with each park, park hours, parades, shows & fireworks, etc times listed underneath. It also shows which park as early entry or late night. I then put a list of MUST-DOs at the bottom of the page -- this is where each family member gives me the one thing they must do at each park. There is also a suggested restaurants list and a "menu items to try" list. Sick, right? Oh, yeah, one last thing. A Downtown Disney/World of Disney shopping list. :) Hey, I always say the planning is half the fun. Right now our next trip isn't until the 1/2 marathon in January and that is probably going to just be me and DH for 3 days, so the planning is very limited and I am putting it off so that I don't finish too early. Have fun!!!

I love to pack/plan early too. I also have a weakness for the white chocolate chip macadamia dough... Feeling a craving coming on. RESIST RESIST! Time for some fruit! WI went ok, but not what I expected based on my scale. For almost 2 years my scale has been .6 lighter than at WW. Last week was 1 lb, this week was 1.2. UGH!!!

I officially lost .8. Better than up. I have 4 more WI before I leave(30 days) and need to lose 3.6 to make my 10%. It's looking BLEAK to me! And I can't imagine being gone 2+ weeks and not gaining. 15 days of restaurants/parties.....YIKES!!!!! According to FitDay I need to lose .9/week and that has never happened consistently with me. In 2003 I was 170.8 on 5/21 and 171.6 on 5/29, so I guess I am exactly where I was 2 years ago. Good I'm not more, Sad I'm not less. In looking back, this is also where this unending roller coaster ride started.

Ok, off my pity party. Breakfast was egg beaters & ww tortillas (3). Not sure what lunch will be as DD and I are running a kazillion errands.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted my new clippie today...........SIGH!!!

I'm thinking positive, but trying to be realistic so I'm not too disappointed. Time will tell.

Didn't get near everything done we needed to. DD tried on shorts this morning and almost NONE fit. When we went thru the closet a couple months ago I thought they were too tight, now she agrees. Gotta go find her some clothes.

Went to Victoria's Secret and I'm not sure which is worse, losing slowly or finding out that since I began trying to lose in 2003 - down 27.6 pounds, My bust has GROWN!!!!! NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!! THAT is depressing!!! I want to lose ****s & abdomen. UGH!!!!!!!

Lunch was Chick Fil A - grilled chicken sand, sm fry, diet coke. 12 pts, but good. I have 7 left for dinner and have salad, cantalope, ff cottage cheese and some kind of meat, not sure what I'm gonna dig out of the freezer.

I will continue. Somehow, eventually this will happen.

Did WATP Walk kick and the 1 mi abs tape. Had a sf Orangeade from tropicana - has a kind of weird taste, but was cold, 2 diet cf cokes and am about 1/2 done w/ water, so OK on liquid.

Tomorrow is another day.....

Congrats on the lost weight and getting closer to fitting into something nice for the wedding. Glad to hear that your sister is doing fairly well, considering. I like her idea of counting the number of treatments left as opposed to the number of weeks left.

I just had 1 c ff sf ice cream (2) and some decaf.

My hands feel SO swollen tonight.

Gotta finish the Ebay then the kitchen and off to bed.....

Just remembered. Tomorrow Morning I'm officially starting June 5 lbs and the June exercise as that will give me exactly 4 weeks until my last WI for FL. I'm going for 5 lbs and 750 min. exercise again, although since I usually don't get to on weekends, that gives me 20 days. I CAN DO THIS!!

Salad with salsa? You know, I've never thought of that. That's a wonderful idea since salsa is generally very healthy and delicous! My sister normally just adds lemon juice to her salad but I've never tried it that way either. I love salad but hate the taste of fat free dressings so I haven't been eating much of it. I did get some great lower calorie/fat ideas from some other board members and I plan to try those soon.

Sorry to hear that your hands felt swollen......hope you feel better today!

The puffy hand feeling isn't as bad this morning as we've finally cooled down. It's 64 @ 8 a.m. - earlier in the week it was mid 70's by this time.

The washer still isn't fixed. The home warranty company is trying to find an authorized Maytag repair person.......Not like I live in the boonies somewhere. I'm none to happy. I'm using it leaking, but the leak is getting worse. UGH!!! Always something.

My weight usually jumps the morning after WI, but it stayed the same today - maybe even down a tad, so that was good. Later I'll do my 4 mi WATP and this weekend if I get the chance I'll do the ABs one 2 mile, at least. DH is off Monday, so that will be a challenge to get any done. He does need to get a new tire on his cycle, so that should take a while :) .

Breakfast will be a cinnamon scone. Giving DD the raspberry white choc to try. Lunch will probably be on the run as we have to go to several stores, credit union and 2 malls to get her shorts - they're holding a pair at the far mall. Dinner will be whatever meat I pull from the freezer (time to try to empty and clean before the trip) the salad before it goes icky and cantalope.

Gotta go rescue Mia from 'puppy prison'. She probably is ready to go potty.

More later.....

Finally finished the errands. Still not done. Taking DD to 1 store in each mall took FOREVER!!!! Found some COMFY shorts for the train, but can't find any jean shorts that aren't $30+ and I'm not willing to pay that.

Lunch was a revival soy bar (5) and light lemonade. I had GCerts so she ate a bacon cheeseburger and fries and I got the drink while she had her gatorade.

Did the 4 WATP mile when we got home. When I changed to exercise I couldn't resist the scale and was VERY surprised that I was 1 lb lower than this morning. WOW!!! Who knows what is going on. Not me!!

Dinner is fish from sams(5). I'm not a big fish fan so I hope it's good. It's Tilapia in butter sauce. Probably a salad and some cantalope/cottage cheese, too.

More: The fish was just OK. Only ate about 1/2 of the serving. Had a WW cookie ice cream bar - REALLY good and only 2 pts. Still have 4 left, but am really not hungry. Will eat something later, tho.

Not sure what this weekend will bring, but I WILL stay OP! I can't not do it!

got hungry and had 2 lt brea(1), 2 turkey (1) and lt popcorn (2). Then the salt got me and I had 1 snackwells chocolate mint cookie (1), so 1 pt over today, but I earned 3 w/ exercise, so I'm ok.

Got up at 5:45 with Mia. She was limping last night - hope it's nothing.

DH had to take DS19 & car to Brake Masters as it is making a terrible noise since they replaced the brake a couple months ago. Hopefully not too expensive. When he left I exercised. Did the WATP abs 2 mile. Pretty good. 31 more min. If DH takes DD to fencing at noon I might try another tape as well. Time will tell.

DH is getting Krispy Kreme donuts, but I'm not sure yet what I'll have for breakfast. I love them, but it just doesn't appeal and I don't need the points.

I have to go to the bread store and do a bit more running today, then not sure what the rest of the weekend will bring other than cleaning house.

More later when I know food.

Sorry to hear that the washer still isn't fixed. That can really make clean clothes hard to come by. I need to do some shopping before our WDW trip as well. Hopefully, we can find some deals and not everyone in the house needs too much. This time of year can be very expensive for so little clothing.

Hope you can avoid the Krispy Kremes. They always do me in. Have a great weekend! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

No Krispy Kremes. YEAH!!! When I was in 9th grade I had to walk about a mile & half from the school, thru downtown to a bus stop to go home. Passed a donut shop on the way and I could buy a dozen and have them gone before I got home. My whole family is that way - or was before they all became diabetic. DSis in FL used to get the # of donuts for her age each year for her birthday. We were there for 48, by 49 she was diabetic. OUCH!!!

Breakfast was Kashi & Yogurt (4). DH needs a new front tire on his cycle so had to follow him to the other side of town, drop DD at fencing, run past Costco for more mango salsa, go to bread store, home to let DH get the van to pick DD up at fencing. Back to pick up DS19 to go pick up his car. Just got back, and since DH is gone did the 2 mile Walk Strong, too! so 4 mi and 63 min today.

DH and DD will get home soon and then off to the other side of town again (about 20 mi each way) to pick up the cycle, then the dreaded WalMart run on the way home.

Lunch was flat out with ff cheese and of course PEACH MANGO SALSA (I bought 2 this time :p (Smiths - a Kroger store - here carries the brand of salsa, so maybe the affiliated stores might in other areas)

I'm going to make DH grill burgers & hot dogs tonight and maybe chicken on Monday. That should cover meals for most of the week.

At the speed my days are passing, we'll be leaving in no time for FL. 4 weeks from today DD and I will be on the train (and I will likely be NAPPING!!!!!) Actually, we'll be getting ready to go thru Raton Pass and that is one of my favorite parts of the trip. It is the highest point of rail travel in the US and there is a tunnel. This time of year we've seen bears, moose, elk, mountain goats & deer/gazelle, so it's neat.

My scale was down a pound from yesterday and I actually saw 168 briefly 2x this morning. I always do 4 x as it sometimes seems WACKO!! MAYBE something good will happen in the weight area this week. .6 will get me the next clippie. SURELY I can lose that........

Off to get a bit done before it's time to pick up the cycle. More later....

Finally done with the running..... had 1 snackwells choc mint cookie in between runs and a spoon ice cream with fresh blueberries at Costco (2)

Dinner was 2 ff hot dogs, 1 bun, 1/4 c ff cottage chz, 1/2 c vegetarian baked beans = 6 pts. I still have 4 pts left. I know I'll have some ice cream later. Not sure what else. I'm not really very hungry today.....not that that is a bad thing!

Another one bites the dust! You will have that clippie in no time. Doesn't it feel good to be on the losing end again?

Sounds like you had a very busy day. Isn't if funny how SAHM's or those who work from home do twice as much as they would if they just went out to a day to day job? It sure can make the days long and tiring.

Keep up the good work! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Not much happening today except trying to help DS15 get done w/ school before we go to FL.

Sat outside at the coffee shop during Church this morning and had a bagel and coffee(6) - our church is huge and has an outdoor area the service is piped to and a 'starbucks' type coffee shop, large book store, skate park, national radio station, etc.

Lunch was a roll up (4). Bought some No Pudge ice cream cones I'll likely have later which are only 2 pts, but big. Hopefully as good as the strawberry shortcake bars. Not sure if I'll manage any exercise today. Dinner will probably be leftover burgers & hot dogs from yesterday.

Just had the No pudge fudge brownie cone - it was really good! Especially for only 2 pts.

8:45 p.m. - dinner was 4 hard taco shells w/ ff cheese, veggie burger crumbles, hot peppers & salsa (7). Then I had a WW cookies & cream bar (2). I'm trying to finish up DS work on the enlightenment and then off to bed.

DD and I went to our fav thrift store for 50% off day this morning. Mostly got stuff to take to DNiece in FL who is expecting and my DSis who needs 3/4 length sleeve tops to cover here pic line that they use for her chemo.

Breakfast was Keva(5) on the way. Lunch a roll up (4) and a bag of baked lays(2)

DH will take DD to fencing tonight so I'll do my 4 mile WATP then. Last night everyone wanted Quesadillas, so tonight we'll have the leftover grilled burgers & hot dogs & corn on the cob. Looks like my dinner will be 2FF hot dogs (2), FF vegetarian beans (1), corn (1), 2 slices lt bread(1), which leaves me 6 points for fun today. I'll definitely have some ice cream of some sort. Not sure what else.

DS15 is working, so I need to get all his History proofed & submitted while he's gone. Tonight is English....what fun!

DD is napping & I'm gonna work on History & ebay. We leave in 26 days, Discovery Cove in 31 days, wedding 33 days, Bush in 34 days, HRH 35 days, Leave to come home in 37 days(that's so sad!!! :sad2: )

6:40 p.m. - Just finished the 4 mile (55 min). No beans w/ dinner (+1), had a no pudge cone (2), so I still have 5 pts left today. Not sure what I'll end up having.

Still not done with proofing DS15's History. I just can't handle too much of it at one time. UGH!!!

It's almost 9 pm and I'm STILL not done w/ DS15's history papers & essays. UGH!!! I did finally finish Ebay and I'm almost done with laundry.

Found 1/2 a Keva in the freezer from last Wed liquid day, so I'm having that (3) and 2 slices lt bread w/ turkey & mustard (2) to finish out my points for the day. I had bought the others some Sara Lee chocolate praline cheesecake bites which are 2 pts each for about a petit four size piece and decided I'd be better off with something with a bit of nutrition. Wasn't even a challenge. YEAH!!!

Today is just going to be a continuation of yesterday. Same stuff to keep doing.....and doing..... and doing.

Breakfast kashi & yogurt (4), lunch will likely be a roll up but I haven't given it much thought. Not sure about dinner as I will have to take dinner to DH as he is taking DD to fencing. Probably finishing off the leftover grilled stuff.

Did the 2 mile WATP abs this morning and if I get a chance later I'll do another 2 mi of the Walk Kick.

DH got the other suitcases cleaned out yesterday. They've been sitting on our sunporch for over a year since our sewage flood and I needed to know if they were still usable for FL. Looks ok. YEAH!!!

I'm hoping to get to other journals later. I knew this month would fly!

Lunch did NOT include mango peach salsa.......Amazing, isn't it????

Had 1/2 c ff cottage cheese (2), baked lays to dip in it (2), 2 lt bread (1) turkey (1). Later this afternoon after I did Walk Kick I had a No Pudge Cone (2).

That leaves me 10 for tonight. Having Ribs (3), potatoes (2), corn on cob (1) and green beans (0). I'll either have some more of dinner and/or a treat later to finish off the points. Tomorrow is liquid day, then Thurs WI. I sure HOPE that I get my next clippie. Scale is steady, however, right where it was. I only need to lose .6 to get it, SURELY that will happen.......Time will tell......... It's not like I'm going Off Plan or not exercising.

5:50 p.m. -

Dinner I had more ribs than I originally thought. These were prepkgd, precooked from sams and had been a deal at $2.81 for a box of 3 lbs. They were remarkably good and I'm not a meat eater. I'm glad I got 2 boxes. So, I had 4.5 pts of ribs and now have 2.5 pts left today. I'll have an ice cream later as it's really hot here in the computer room - DS15 left the blinds open and window closed and we get the west sun. UGH!!!

BTW, I have been meaning to mention that the picture in your sig of your DS is awesome! Kudos to whoever caught that great action shot[/QUOTE]

Actually, it wasn't an action shot at all. He can get like that and hold it for like 5 minutes. It's REALLY freaky. A couple of years ago 3 of the guys did this in downtown Savannah at Nationals, STACKED one above the other on a lamp post. I lost my film, so don't have a pic, but they had several dollars in change thrown to them for doing it. They thought it was way cool! I keep telling him that if gymnast doesn't work out, he can always be a circus clown.

Now to the progress ........my scale was UP by almost 3 lbs this morning. GRRRRR!!!!!!!! And tomorrow is WI. Does NOT bode well. MAJOR dose of Pixie dust needed here. :wizard: I'm guessing there was too much sodium and the liquid today will deal with it, but........

I'll have my first Kashi at 9:30, and start scattering them & my Wed Keva fix later. So far have had decaf & my vitamins. I'll start water when it warms up a bit in here.

WOW, HE'S AMAZING!!!

Been meaning to ask you Julie...what is KASHI & KEVA?

Jen :goodvibes

goldcupmom
06-01-2005, 12:44 PM
He is pretty amazing for not yet 16. He and his older brother are kind of good cop, bad cop. John (DS15) is definitely a middle child. He's been doing gymnastics since he was 8. Currently works out 30 hours a week, is a straight A student in a virtual HS, works at Chick Fil A 23 hrs a week during school year (40 in summer). Very polite, easy going. The kind we want our daughters to find. :goodvibes

Kashi is a shake - kind of like slim fast - by the KASHI go Lean company - they make cereal, bars, etc. The other stuff you can find many places, but the shakes usually at health food places. I like them better than the Slim fast, atkins, etc because they have more fiber and protein. More filling , I think, too.

KEVA is a juice bar chain. KEVA JUICE. Like Planet Smoothie. I'm not big on fruits or veggies as I rarely had either as a kid, but I love their smoothies - betcha couldn't tell.

Revival that I talk about is from Revivalsoy.com It is a soy protein shake. Good for PMS, menopause symptoms, weight loss, etc. I use it for hot flashes/night sweats as I won't go on hormone replacement and Dr's think I've been perimenopausal for about 10 years. It has helped with my irregular heartbeat (hormone related) and is amazing for PMS mood swings. They have bars, shakes, etc. Bars are incredible, but 5 pts. I do the shakes w/ splenda because they are only 2.

So, that's my lingo!

keenercam
06-01-2005, 01:13 PM
Julie -- I love hearing about your kids. Yes, DS sounds like the kind of boy we'd like our DD16 to meet! :) So, now I am even more impressed by the picture, now that I know he is holding still and it wasn't the work of a camera that caught that amazing form! Will we hear your son's name some day on the US Gymnastics Team?

I can't imagine doing your liquid regimen -- that takes an awesome amount of discipline! It's funny. I have actually given up worrying about whether the scale is up or down as it seems to fluctuate so much. I just jot down what it says and look at how I have done over a period of time, rather than the "difference" in a week. Letting go has actually helped my mindset so much that I hadn't even realized how little I lost in May. So, even if your scale is up 3 pounds today, just think, it might be down all of that plus more a week from now. Remember it is the long term that really matters and you are doing an amazing job of eating so healthy!
Congratulations and keep up the great work!

Just finished the 4 mi WATP. HAve had 2 Kashi and will have my Revival soon. Doing Liquid 1 day a week isn't too hard as I know it's just for 1 day, and the stuff is yummy & filling. If I were still hungry I'd never be able to do it.

I only have 2 more sets of essays + 2 papers for history to proof and then he's done with that. English is killing him as it's 99% lit - shakespeare. ICK!!!!

Ok all my WISH buddies...........Look below............Doesn't it look absolutely MARVELOUS???????

Lost 2.6 this week YEAH!!!!!!! :cool1:

I'm officially down 17 lbs since I rejoined WW, and now down 30.2 from when I originally joined WW in Jan 2003. Actually I weigh exactly what I weighed on June 19, 2003 and again on July 19, 2003 - that was the BAD BAD year for stress.

On my scale this morning I was 166.5 - down 6 pounds since Tuesday Morning, 5 since yesterday. Not sure what happened, but hope it stays. I'm now so close to my mini goal I can NOT go off Plan and I WILL NOT!!! I'd like to blow right past my mini goal. FL trip will not be an easy time for me. Just being w/ the DH who will make snide little comments when I don't eat what he thinks I should and won't have a drink or dessert. The kids aren't too bad as they are with me most of the time and know better. DH is just convinced that it is impossible to lose so it's a waste to try. He's not huge, but big and DD keeps telling me how she's afraid he'll not be here by the time she is 20. Can't tell him anything, tho, he's an engineer and knows EVERYTHING! They are a fun lot......sometimes :)

Breakfast is Kashi crunch cereal & yogurt(4). Lunch MUST have some salsa and will likely be a ff cheese quesadilla - I LOVE my quesadilla maker DS15 got me for Christmas. No clue about dinner as I will be alone - DH will take DD to fencing. DS15 is in the gym today from 9 - 1 and works from 2 - 9.

Bought 4 boxes of 2 pt bars at WW this morning and today's trip job is to fill everyone's snack bags for the travel time. Then I'll pack a larger tote with snacks to check thru for the time we are there.

WW Leader quote: I'm Bulimic, but I also have amnesia. I binge, but forget to purge. :rotfl:

I'm still here. Just busy.

Yesterday was a blur and I didn't get half done what I needed. Oh well. Lunch at almost 2:00 turned into dinner as well. 5 taco shells w/ ff cheese L& SALSA. then some chips & salsa(13). Had a ww ice cream (2) choc milk(2) and some cheese potatoes (4). Went over points by 4, but ok. Had my water, but no time to exercise.

Today had coffee & scone for breakfast (6), a cheesecake bite(2) - Sara Lee - ok, but hardly worth the 2 points. I basically tried it to appease DD and I had the points to do it. 2 lt bread w/ turkey(2). So, I'm only 1/2 thru my points. Dinner has to be the rest of the grilled stuff, so FF hot dogs. Not sure what else. Spent the morning running errands. I'll count 15 min walking, but in reality it was much more, just not at a very brisk speed. Just finished my WATP 4 mile. Tomorrow morning the next neighborhood over is having neighborhood garage sales, so DD & I are going. That will be a lot of walking.

I gave up on History a while. Need to get back to it this weekend.

On a happy note - I've started PACKING!!!!! One suitcase full of 'presents' & baby/maternity clothes. I've almost finished the 'snack' bag, too. DD and I have also started our backpack packing with the fun stuff we want for on the train - books, games, cards, etc.

22 days and we're out of here. I told her today we need to be DONE by the 19th as DS19 is having his wisdom teeth out on the 21, then his bday the 24, we leave the 25, so that week will be gone before it starts.

Have a great weekend all!! Thanks for all your support!

Fat Free Hot dogs have TOO MUCH SODIUM!!!!!

Dinner last night was 2 lt bread (1), vegetarian beans (1), 3 FF Hot dogs (3) 6 tortilla chips (2), ww ice cream (2) and 6 ritz bbq crackers (2)

Stayed w/in points , had all my water and much more and gained 4 lbs this morning.....this too shall pass.

Breakfast today was my other scone & decaf coffee (6). Went to GSales for 2.5 hours - mostly walking, but I'm only going to count 1 hour of it as it wasn't super fast (but DD and friend who went with me said I was running). Had 2 slices turkey when I got home (1). About 1/2 done with my water. Having another Decaf now.

Not sure what the rest of today will bring. Mostly house work. If DH goes to the casino to play Blackjack, I'll get in one of my WATP tapes. I almost have 2 bags packed. I leave in 21 days.....Can you tell I can't wait???? :teeth:

Today I have a TERRIBLE case of the mid month munchies. As of this moment I'm EXACTLY on points, but I feel like I need to go to bed(at 6:30) to stop this. UGH!!!!! DD and I started packing in earnest. Tried on many clothes. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how I look at it) the clothes I wore last year still fit. Some of the shorts seem looser and some of the tops don't show quite as much rolls, but still fine. I wish it was all HUGE, but glad it wasn't tight. I just need to buy 2 tops - halters - which is what I wear in the heat. Tried on swim suits and they, too are fine.

Sizes REALLY vary. I'm taking everything in shorts from a 10 - 14 and M - XL in shorts & tops. I love the 10 idea - don't like the XL too well. :)

I almost have 2 suitcases closed up with stuff we don't need en route. Snack bag is almost ready to be closed and go clear thru.

I managed last night eating only 2 WW candies - they're chocolate & yummy.

This is the 5th day my allergies have been awful.

Between that and I can tell my hormones are whacked, I'm feeling cruddy, depressed (tho I'm not quite sure why), and munchy. UGH!!

Breakfast was 4 lt bread (2) with an almost invisible smidge of RF Peanutbutter & Jelly (2). Lunch (or dinner) will be chicken, but I was going to put it in my small electric roaster and the cord is now missing since DH decided to arrange my storage cabinet. UGH!!! And someone tipped the container it was thawing in so I had to clean the fridge as there was chicken blood all over. What a way to start the day.........

I didn't step on the scale this morning as I can FEEL the bloat and the weight.

Tried to buy more Kashi shakes yesterday and the only 2 stores that sell it are out, and one has a discontinued sign on everything Kashi. That was not good news. I did find the PRIA shakes that look to have about the same ingredients/fiber. I hope they taste as good and are filling.

This will be an incredibly busy week. DH has been appointed to a new job - filling in for his boss who was just promoted, but DH has to do BOTH jobs now when he didn't have time to do the one he had working 60+ hours a wk (and no he doesn't get paid for it or the new fill in.)

The washing machine saga continues. Last week I called the 3 maytag authorized service here. 1 of them would not answer nor return calls after a week even. The other 2 said they REFUSE to do any warranty work as it slows them down and they are short on people. So, called main Maytag cust. svc. They said they can't make their people fix anything, but I could have my washer SHIPPED to the main office for repair, but I'd have to pay the shipping, etc. or, if I had my original bill of sale - I do, but after 7 years it's unreadable, I can go pick up the part and fix it myself, or pay someone to. I explained I have no readable bill of sale, but that according to THEIR records it was manufactured in March of 1998, so it is well under the 10 year warranty, since it can't be older than when it was made. They said it could be older than when it was made! I might just be using someone elses numbers to try to "cheat the company". I would, again, have to ship them the entire washer for them to look at. STUPID!!!!! I will NEVER buy Maytag again!!! So, Monday I have to try to call the home warranty people and see if there is ANYTHING they can do.

So, life here continues in its pretty normal, crazy state.......at least it's not boring!

20 days and we are on the way. At least the train trip should be relaxing. The FL time will be a bit hectic at times, and we are doing Universal, so it will be lively. I wish we were doing Dis, but kids just don't enjoy it anymore. Not enough excitement. SIGH!!!!

Lunch was a WW lasagna (6). Mid afternoon I had a bag of baked lays (2). Dinner was baked boneless skinless chicken breast (3), cheddar bacon potatoes(3) and cheese cauliflower (2). I'll likely have a ww ice cream w/ my remaining 2. Of course, there is ANOTHER tub of white macadamia cookie dough open in the fridge.....and SCREAMING at me to come eat it. I will resist, I will resist, I will resist.

Done w/ my 64 oz water +, but it's only 6:15 here, so I'm sure I'll have more.
No exercise today as DH is here. Might be able to do a quick 2 mi WATP if he decides to go play Blackjack again. Went for a couple of hours yesterday and came home with $135. Sure could use some more trip money! He's very good at it.

About to do ebay and proof some English essays ...fun, fun, fun, but a diversion from the BORING history.

Tomorrow I'll stop by on the fly. I'll be on the run from about 8:15 thru dinner.

Hi, Julie! Great job yesterday! So glad you are taking a break from History, though English doesnt' sound any easier to me.

Okay, so I have a question. Why do you have white chocolate macedamia dough in your fridge? I don't particularly like that kind, but I think if I had it and it was that much of a temptation, I'd either have to bake it and give the cookies away, or put the dough in the freezer. The very fact that it is there and tempting to you, and yet you are avoiding it, is very impressive.

Keep up the great work, kiddo!

Ds is a gymnast. One of his 'fundraisers' is selling frozen food from RedWheel. He gets $5 off each item he sells into his account, so, each time we buy 8 tubs of cookie dough, 12 bags of burritos and 6 boxes of mini tacos along with 2 packs of baby cheesecakes. My family doesn't like cookies, just dough! (we actually bake the cookies and take containers when we travel). So, since DS needs SO many calories/day, I just behave. DD and DH eat a little, but DS eats the bulk. Between protein shakes, real food and snacks, he eats a lot. A typical day for him is 3 eggs, 1/2 c cheese, 16 oz milk, 600 cal Protein shake, 4 bacon 2 - 4 toast - for breakfast. At workout he has a large gatorade and usually a small power bar. Then he has 2 - 4 peanut butter sandwiches, a soda, 2 granola bars and some chips for lunch before work. During work he has 2 Chick Fil A sandwich meals with cole slaw and brownies. Then after work he comes home and eats dinner. Last night for dinner he had 3 large chicken breasts, 1/2 box of cheddar bacon potatoes, can of corn, 2 glasses choc milk, cauliflower, a big bowl of ice cream, then a bag of beef jerky, popcorn and more ice cream before bed.

Today is major errand day as yesterday I didn't make it out. I'll grab something here for breakfast. Lunch will be on the run - likely Keva. Not sure of dinner as I have an eye appt at 4:30, then have to run DD to DH to go to fencing.

Just did WATP abs 2 mile and I'll try to do another 2 mile later.

Gymnastics for guys is really an entirely different sport. It is all about muscle. Jordan Jovtchev (bulgarian olympian) is a friend and his biceps are like my DD's WAIST. Which is why he can do rings. If guys don't have the extreme muscle, but not body builder type, they just can't do it.

Just got back from errands. We shopped for 5+ hours, but I'm only counting 1 as exercise even though my feet say WAY more. 2 malls, EVERY store and not ONE has black shorts for juniors. UGH!! I gave up for today.

Breakfast was 2 lt bread w/ eggbeaters and 1/8 c ff cheese to stick it together(2.5) Had Keva about 11:00(5) now I'm having 4 lt bread w/ turkey & mustard (4). Not sure about dinner as I will be alone, but I have 10.5 left, so plenty to work with.

Dinner last night was baked tortilla chips, mango salsa, ff chz. (6.5)
Had 2 pcs WW candy (2) then got hot & hungry so had a no pudge cone (2) to finish off my points.

Breakfast this morning didn't happen. The washer guy rescheduled for 10 - 12 instead of 8 - 10. DD had to be at the Fencing Club (about 40 min away) for the filming of the TV commercial by 11. Had to have DH come home from work and take her. While waiting & waiting I had cookie dough for breakfast. I actually kept track and it was 2 oz for 6 pts. Oh well, I could have easily eaten the whole bucket full. Lunch was a Revival soy bar(5) on the way to pick up DD.

Just finished the WATP Abs 3 mile - first time I did this one & it is a challenge. Not so much the walking, but the arms/abs. Now I'm having a CF diet pepsi and trying to cool off. It's 88 out and I'm trying not to turn on my swamp cooler as it will be around 50 tonight. If I hadn't been moving, it would be plenty cool.

Dinner depends on if DH comes home before taking DD to fencing or if I take dinner to him. Will update later. I have 11 pts left, so am in good shape.

The washer can be fixed - the home warranty people will send me the check to reimburse, so my out of pocket will only have been my $45 co pay on a $350/bill. The bad news is they won't have the proper bearing til Friday so they can't fix til Monday. Oh well......

Time to do ebay - only today and tomorrow left to list before I leave. Then more English & History.

More later....

Just wasn't hungry last night. Had the leftover cheese cauliflower (1), 2 lt bread w/ turkey (2) and a no pudge cone (2). Had 4 pts left, but had no desire to eat, so didn't.

Today is liquid day. Can't find Kashi in cans, so am trying PRIA. It is actually less points, same fiber/protein. Can't decide if I really like it as well, but if Kashi isn't going to be available, I'll have to adjust. So far I've had 1 Pria(3), Keva(5) and revival soy(2). I'm almost done w/ my water.

Ran more errands this morning - took poor Mia to be groomed - basically shaved - as she will be kenneled for a week while we are gone and another week+ with DH & DS. DH will bathe here, but not brush/groom and her long coat would have been a tangled/matted MESS. She will at least be cooler this way, and it will grow. Quickly I hope.

Just finished WATP 4 mile and will count 10 min for the walking/shopping. I'm hoping to blow past my June exercise goal early next week.

We leave in 17 days. I can't wait!

Well, after waking up to a SURPRISE visit by TOM (6 wks late last month, a week early this month - GEE, I HATE mid life!! TOM GO AWAY!!!) , I did not even step on the scale at home as I knew I would be up and would try to talk myself into not going to WI. But I went and............ TA DAH!!!! I was DOWN 1.4!!!! I was SHOCKED!!! Made my 10% goal!

Now I'm thinking I should try to lose 1.6 more in the 2 more WI I have before the trip and get that new clippie. I am going to try, but if I don't make it, I won't be disappointed as I made the goal I really wanted. Now I need to start planning how to NOT GAIN while I'm gone for 16 days.

Updated my weight on fitday and my 'dot' is almost entirely in the 'moderately overweight' category. This is GOOD !!

Breakfast after WI this morning was a Triple Chocolate Biscotti I got as a sample from Sams and have been saving. 3 pts, but VERY Yummy, and since I had it at 10:30, I figured it and my decaf would hold me til a fairly normal lunch time.

DD has fencing at 4 & I will be taking her, so I have no clue what dinner will be. Maybe I'll just pack she & I sandwiches to eat on the way.

I promised myself that if IF I made my goal I'd treat DD and I to facials & pedicures. So, I bit the bullet and made the appointment. She has never gone, and is getting to be at the oily, blackhead stage, so they will clean out her pores and hopefully she will keep the clear skin she has for a while.
So, we will do that on the morning of the 24, DS18 has his bday that day and then next day we leave. YEAH!! 16 more days!

Gotta run, but will try to visit some journals tonight. I'm reading, but not having time to write.

Thanks for all the :wizard: !!

Fencing ended up not lasting the usual 3 - 4 hours, so I had a bag of Baked Lays (2), a 100 cal bag of ritz mix (2) and a WW candy (1). Lunch was flat out bread w/ turkey, mustard, dill pickle & tomato (4).

Dinner a LC pizza (6) and some FF ice cream(2). That leaves me 2 pts for if I get hungry later.

I'm hoping tomorrow can be an at home, quiet day so I can get things done. I've been waking up about 5 and by the time I get done with everything else and get to proofing DS15s school, I'm too tired to think. The bulk of it has to get done and submitted before we leave. UGH!!!

Friday at last! 15 days until we get on the train and are FL bound!

Officially for the June WI I'm at 4/5 this morning. 2 more Fridays til I am done w/ June.

Breakfast egg B(1), 2 wheat tortillas(2) FF chz/Salsa (.5)

I'm trying to organize the rest of Ebay I need to be paid for or ship so it's easier to deal with. Also need to pack away, get rid of the leftovers. Time consuming, but pretty mindless for a Friday, which is good.

Did the WATP 4 mile early today, so I'm ALMOST at the 750 exercise goal for June. YEAH!!!!

Time to get busy. I'll catch y'all later!!

You are doing so good with the exercise and the weight loss. Four lbs for June is great! The exercise to date is amazing... and here I was patting myself on the back for 440 minutes to date! ;)

I am SO tired!

That said, dinner was bbq chicken - pulled apart the leftovers for sandwiches (3) 2 lt bread (1), homemade slaw (2), obrien potatoes (1). Which leaves me 5 points. I haven't been hungry, and getting all my points eaten has been kind of tough. How WEIRD is THAT?????

I bought some yummy looking strawberries today so I will have some of those in a bit.

Just finished going through EVERY ebay item I have left, sorting out and compiling the stuff that is yet to sell or will need shipped before I leave. It was a job, but will make things much easier in the long run the next 2 weeks.

This weekend I have to really concentrate on the proofing.

Doin' great, Jules!!! I couldn't find the gel cuppies. Poo. I did get to find these Breyer's Fruit Bars! They are like popsicles but 1/2 a point each!!!! Yum-scrumptious indeed. If you aren't hungry, don't eat.

Keep on keepin' on!

Not sure what today will bring. EARLY (like around 5:30 ) I had 2 WW chocolate twinkie things (2). Now I'm having CF Diet mountain dew and baked lays(2).

DH is off to the casino to play blackjack, DS15 is at work, DD is whining and I'm about to go exercise. I'm going to do the 3 mile Abs WATP. I like that one, but it sure makes my arms hurt! I guess that's a good thing.

Dinner tonight will be the rest of the chicken in stir fry w/ rice. No clue about lunch.

Hope y'all are having a wonderful Saturday!

Lunch - duh, a roll up (4) - what else? and some berries (1)

DD and I are going to see Madagascar. I've been wanting to and she finally relented.

Getting her to pack is a chore. I told her all the clothing for the 4 train days needs to be done tonight. Also swimsuits and pjs for the trip. She of course wants to wear a sports bra & sweatpants for sleep on the train. NOT!!! Bathrooms are down the hall in 2 of 3 parts and at 13, she's 117 lbs, 5'4+, 36C, 22 waist. Get my drift????? COVER that body, girl!!!!! That definitely wouldn't pass the Dad-o-meter! We'll wash the train clothes at my sister's and wear the same outfits on the way home.

I'll likely send almost all our other luggage home with DH on the plane so she & I won't have so much on the return trip.

Time to get ready for the movie.

Later.....

goldcupmom
06-11-2005, 07:34 PM
Madagascar was GREAT!!!!! We both really enjoyed it. I had my water and 2 WW candies. They ALMOST taste like the real thing. YUMMY!

Dinner was not as planned. No one ate lunch here except me, so dinner was an assortment of leftovers. I had obrien potatoes(2), egg beaters (1.5), cheese (3). So I have 4 left for the day. Later I'll have ice cream w/ strawberries which should almost finish them off.

Time for another load of laundry and some history.

Edit: DH decided we needed to go for a walk, and I will NOT discourage it when he wants to do anything but lie on the bed and watch tv, so , add another 25 min for me. mostly uphill. I went fast, he went slow and had to keep stopping to rest, but it is a start!

Had a WW ice cream (2). Not sure if I'll have anything else. Too tired!

Today I'm in the Danger zone.......

Extremely tired. Breakfast was kashi & yogurt (4). Lunch was a quesadilla (5), then I made the mistake of opening a bag of tortilla chips (6). So, the salt got to me and I had a biscotti (2). Now I'm down to 5 pts for the day and it's only noon. I've been really good lately, and not used and fp's, but I'd rather not.

One more essay to proof and I'm down to 2 tests left in history and 2 papers. Off to read about stalin, hitler and mussolini, oh boy!

06-12-2005, 08:21 PM
Ok, I went 6 pts over today. Not a lot, but more than I wanted too. But, I don't eat my exercise points or flex points, so I think I'm still ok. Just VERY tired!!

tomorrow will be better.

Today was a no exercise day and that, too, is Ok.

Today is definitely Monday. tired, sluggish, it's going to be HOT, and about every 10 min DD says "I wish we could leave today". We have 12 days to go and she is gonna get on my last nerve soon!

Remember the movie "Throw Momma off the train"? I've promised her that if she drives me NUTS it will become "Throw Bekah off the train"? :rolleyes1

The washer machine repair guy is here, so today is off to a better start.

Breakfast was Kashi & yogurt. Not sure about anything else at this point.

I basically have my stuff packed, made lists for the guys who will be packing w/o me here to supervise - that's kind of scary. DD packed, unpacked, packed, unpacked and then decided that she couldn't pack her shorts, she might want them. UGH!!! I HATE packing at the last minute, but she will likely leave it at that. Oh well......

Still working on school proofing. This week will again be busy - is it ever NOT??

Today washer guy, credit union, fencing, tomorrow Eye appts, fencing, go get DS new Cell phone, Wed is mail day for Ebay and fencing. Thurs & Fri look fairly calm except for WW, but I just realized that I have to Birthday shop for both DS before I leave. DS #1 turns 19 the day before we leave. DS #2 turns 16 the day after I get back. Next week will fly by. There is a fencing tourney this Sat, then Tues 21 DS18 will have his wisdom teeth out - he has a funky heart valve, so he will have to stay here and I will need to monitor him and medication for a couple of days, so I will be homebound. Then Friday is DS 19th Bday and Sat we leave.

Much to do, so best go get at it. More later.

Have a great Monday!

Wow! Nothing like a little pre-trip running around! Bless your heart trying to get everyone packed!

Have a great day--hope the washer gets taken care of quickly!

Today will be another busy one. Breakfast will be kashi & yogurt(4) at some point. Lunch will be a roll up. Beyond that, I haven't a clue. Scale went up 2 lbs Sunday Morning and is holding steady, likely due to the heat here right now. Oh well....

Today is Sam's for milk, Albertson's for frozen dinners on sale for the guys while I'm gone, Sunflower Market for produce, DS15 has an eye appt, Verizon to replace his cell phone, Credit Union (which I didn't make yesterday), and proof school. Hopefully I can get my kitchen picked up where I began sorting stuff yesterday and you can't see the counters or table. Tonight fencing is at 4, so I have to do that run. Plus more proofing needs to be done. Hopefully DH will proof the 1st half of DS15's journal tonight and get that submitted.

I will fit exercise in SOMEWHERE early.

11 days til train and SLEEP for 3 days!

I have the feeling that before we leave or shortly after return we will have to have our poodle put down. She is 15+, totally blind & deaf now and can't find her food/water on her own. DH refuses, but I think it's rather cruel to let her run into walls, trees, etc and not be able to find her food/water. She has always been an outdoor dog due to her total stubbornness against potty training, but she has the run of our enclosed sunporch thru a doggie door. I'm amazed she can find the door still and doubt she will be able to for long. She has had a good life. Oh well....... time will tell.....

Definitely extra strength, and better make it a double!

Just back from the 3 groceries. I avoided the 'just inside the door' bakery and scones at Sunflower. Just had my kashi & yogurt w/ a smidge of fresh blueberries. They looked better than they taste. Oh well. Still good.

Off to load the recycle bin & put all at the curb, then exercise time. It's 9:16 and I'm hoping to be starting on History proofing by 10:30. Doing the 3 mi WATP abs today.

More in a bit!

10:25 a.m. - Done with exercise. added 44 min. Trash & recycle out. Updated my siggy. Ready to do History proofing. Sitting here sweating it - literally and figuratively!! :teeth:

11:45 a.m. - History submitted. Waiting for this one to get graded to submit the final, then 2 5 pg papers, one before FL, one after as they can't be submitted until the first is graded.

Off to shower. Lunch will be whatever frozen dinner DD pulls from the freezer for me. Then off to Verizon and hopefully to pick up a couple of things on the "need before FL" list. Had a bag of baked lays in the middle of proofing (2)

So far, so good.....

Whewwww! I have finally made it all the way through your journal! You are one busy lady with all of your kids and their assorted projects in addition to all that you do.

Your trip to FL sounds like tons of fun and the train ride sounds nice and relaxing. Your daily food and exercise looks good and you should do well while on your trip.

One question - what does WATP stand for? They sound like interesting workout tapes.

Don't forget to breathe!!!!

goldcupmom
06-15-2005, 09:08 AM
Well, the best laid plans.......

Verizon should have taken maybe 20 min yesterday. Took almost an hour & a half. Good news is , I was able to alter our family plan, get 300 more minutes and DD a separate phone/line for less than I was paying. Originally DS15 phone was for the 2 to share, but now that he is riding a cycle and working, he really needs one. Bad news is, he bought his phone and a $100 head set and they forgot to give it to us so we ended up after having spent an eternity anyway, having to go back.

Then Eye Dr. I checked him in, did paperwork and then asked if I could pay so I could get DD to fencing. I wasn't allowed to leave. I've done this at the Dentist when he was getting cleanings, Dr., even w/ DD briefly at the hospital, and they EYE DR. wouldn't let an almost 16 w/ their own transportation be there alone. Needless to say I wasn't thrilled, DD was mad.

So, no time for Credit Union, over 40 min late to fencing. Didn't get my kitchen done either.

Dinner ended up being 2 sandwiches of lt bread & turkey, then a WW ice cream at home. Had 2 spoons of cookie dough to finish my points - this time peanut butter chocolate chip. I needed the sweet fix.

On to today....

Still working on the journal, DH watched TV instead of helped. Oh well. Need to package & mail. Gotta hit the Credit Union. Pay Bills, hopefully find some of the 'need before FL' stuff. Time will tell.

Today is liquid day. I actually very briefly saw 164 this morning. Scale settled just around 164.5/165, so I'm hopeful. Will be very hot again today. almost 80 already and it's 7 a.m. DH didn't turn the swamp on when he got home, so it wasn't cool in here for sleeping until about 4 this morning. Sigh!

Sleep on the train is looking better & better.

Shauna - WATP is Walk Away the Pounds (Leslie Sansone). I've tried a bunch of stuff including going to the gym, but with my life, I just usually don't have the time to drive AND exercise. These tapes seem to be working for me and aren't overly taxing. I started w/ the 1 - 2 mile ones and have moved up.

Have a great HUMP day, guys. Tomorrow I'm in single digits!!!

TPCShauna
06-15-2005, 11:48 AM
I can't believe the optometrist wouldn't let you leave! That doesn't even make sense!

So do you walk around the neighborhood when you do these tapes or are they done at home in your living room? I guess I'm wondering if it's mainly just walking in place or what.

Yippee almost single digits!!!

These are DVD's in home. Walking, side step, knee lift, kicks, and arm stuff. pace varies. Some use a 'stretchie band' the abs has a belt w/ bands attached. Boy does that make my arms hurt!!

15 min = 1 mile, the 4 mile is 55 min.

Today was slightly better for getting things done. Finally managed to get to the Credit Union and a couple of 'to do's for the trip done.

Had an awesome thunderstorm - RARE here! Had a dry one first for about an hour - I'm sure it started some fires on the mountains, then had hard rain for about 30 min. YEAH!!

Almost done with the History proofing - just 2 papers to go. English Journal part 1 is almost done. SLOW and tedious, but.....

Today is liquid day, so I"ve had 1 Kashi (4), 1 Pria (3), revival (2) and a Keva (5). I have another Keva in the freezer for later.

DD's new cell phone has a countdown timer on it so about every 10 min today she has been updating me on how many hours/min/sec until we leave. UGH!!!

Did the 4 mile WATP earlier.

I at least got the kitchen started. Tomorrow is another day.

And, tomorrow is WI and SINGLE DIGIT DAY!!!! I can't WAIT!!!!

Dsis had her 3rd Chemo today. Her blood is better, so she only has to do the shot every other week now - it's $4000/dose. OUCH!!!! and they still aren't sure if her insurance is covering it. And, she is growing hair! Hopefully it won't fall out again, but they said it might. And from being med/dark brown, what is coming in is light strawberry blonde. She still has eyebrows & lashes, so now we're praying she'll have those for the wedding on 7/2. Only God knows!

Off to visit some journals and catch up!

Later.

I love traveling by train...it's so relaxing! Hope you have some good books to read!

Best wishes to your sister...it's bad enough having to deal with illness, but having to fight with health insurance on top of that is so frustrating. When I went through my treatments last year, I spent most of my time worrying about how I was depleating our savings account...it's just madness. Anyway, a good attitude it the first step toward recovery. :)

Today was a GREAT WI day! Down 2.8 for a total of 21.2 - NEW CLIPPIE!!!!!

That said, I've now officially set my next mini goal, but I'm NOT convinced I'll make it. My 45 Birthday is 7/31. I want to be in the 150s, so on the WW WI scale it will be 159.8. But, that is 6 weeks away and I will be gone almost 3 of that in FL. OUCH!! And in the interim there are 2 birthdays in my house. I just have to behave in FL so I at least maintain. Then when I get back on 7/10 (another bday 7/11) I MUST be really really good. Much easier said than done!

My bad brain is kicking in. When I stepped on the scale at home this morning and was 163, it kept telling me "you're losing weight too fast", " you need to eat more" "you need to not exercise so much". It has the voice of my Mother who told me everyday of my life how fat I was. I will NOT listen. Overall, since I rejoined WW in Jan I've lost 21.2 in 23 weeks. That's not even a pound a week. SO THERE little voice in my head - NOT LISTENING, NOT LISTENING, NOT LISTENING!!!!!!

Today is SINGLE DIGIT HAPPY DANCE DAY!!!!!!!!!
According to DD's phone, 9 days, 1 hour and 40 minutes til we board the train. WOOHOO!!!!!!!

 :cool1: :Pinkbounc :bounce:  :cool1: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :wave2:  :moped:

Breakfast was a 1 pt bar that they gave me at WW - oatmeal was good, but I HATE raisins & a biscotti & coffee here (2).

Not sure about anything else today. I get to do the fencing run at 4 so dinner will be on the run. Probably a sandwich & baked chips.

More later.

Congrats on doing SO well with your weight loss. A lb or two a week is very healthy, so you are doing this right.... ignore bad messages you are getting from your bad brain! You can also keep this up in Florida through healthy choices and exercise. I always find time for extra exercise on vacation because I don't have work, cleaning, cooking, laundry etc to do, so that does the trick.

My sis had cancer too. It is a tough road and the insurance hassles don't make it any easier. Here is hoping they will come through - like they should. Sick people should not have to worry about going bankrupt to get better.

Just finished WATP Abs 3 mi. Boy am I HOT!! It's 90 out and at least that in.

Lunch was 2 sandwiches of lt bread & turkey (4) and baked lays (2). So I've got 13 left for tonight. May have to have a FRAP & a subway wrap. Who knows.

A friend just told me that Costco has WATP audio CD's of just music to give you the pace for a 1.5, 2.5 or 3.5 mile walk, so if I get those, I can walk on the train - in place basically, but I'll have a pace to work from to actually get some exercise. If I can do that while we watch a movie or can read while I do it that will be great. Guess I need to go to Costco after Fencing.

What a busy morning this has been!

Last night fencing went forever. On the way - about 3:30 DD and I had subway (4) and starbucks(5). By the time we got home I was hungry, HOT and tired. Used 4 points over my daily - 1 if you factor in my exercise points. Had 10 tortilla chips, 1/2 serving cheese and mango salsa. Then I had a biscotti. Not bad, but not what I should have done. Got in way more water yesterday than my 64 oz min.

On the way home stopped at Costco and got my WATP CD's and made a copy so I don't have to take the originals in case something happens to them. Got the guys some microwave food for while we're gone.

This morning got up early to go to Sams. Trying to buy some good looking steaks for Sunday, but theirs looked awful and were almost $9/lb. Finally found some at the produce/health food market. Hit 3 stores + walmart & dropped of DS19 rx for his wisdom teeth extraction tues. Home to take care of stuff then back w/ DD to Dr. About 2 mo ago when we got snowed in in Colorado she spent 2 days on the indoor water slide at the hotel. Came home with her hip bones and tummy looking like we'd beat her severely. About a month ago she developed lots of tiny 'floaters' under the skin that she can slide all around - pretty gross. Was finally able to have them checked out Calcium deposits from the bruise. YEAH!! She was convinced they were bone chips that would move and lodge somewhere they shouldn't.

then went to DQ to order 2 cakes for the boys bdays and the dollar store for candles.

Breakfast was Decaf & a scone (6). Lunch a roll up (3) and cookie dough - OOPS!! - 4.

Just finished 4 mile WATP and off to pick up RX, buy soda, buy crickets for the lizards, pick up my new glasses. then home to get dinner, organize for packing and proof some school.

Tomorrow will be busy w/ a fencing tournament - maybe from about 10 - 7 p.m. UGH!!

But, the good news is according to DD's countdown, we're now UNDER 8 days!!!!

TTNW(this time next week) - DD and I will have spent 3 - 4 WONDERFUL hours at the spa having facials, pedicures and sitting in the sea water hot tub, sauna & steam room. Then off to pick up cake & presents for DS18 . He wants pizza for dinner - his exact words were - "order 10 large papa johns pizzas, 5 pepperoni, 5 cheese, and I"ll take the leftovers home".. I will NOT order that many. I'll finish up last minute laundry, make phone calls confirming the FL reservations. Hopefully I will be able to work in some exercise. Then off to bed and ready for the TRAIN!!!

I'm thinking of doing a small scavenger hunt for DS bday. He's getting only money & gift cards as he's broke and his roommates ripped him off. Thinking of hiding clues to each gift to make it a bit more interesting. Whatcha think???

I'm back and looks like you are ready to leave. :flower:

Sounds like you have had some stressful and busy moments while I was gone (what's new, huh?). But the stress isn't keeping you from losing that weight! Congrats on the new clippie! :cool1: I knew you could do it, you just had to keep pushing along. At least which ever dress you decide to wear for the wedding will fit much better than it did a month ago. That should make you feel good.

I am pulling for you that you can get to the 150's before your birthday. It's hard to keep your eating on schedule when you are away from home, but as long as you try to be sensible and don't binge all the time, you should have no problem maintaining.

Glad to hear that your sis is almost finished with her treatments. Hope that the time that you leave for FL goes quickly for you so that you can stop the insanity with your DD's countdown. There is one thing you can do while on the train that might pay off.........it's called "Throw the Momma VOICE from the Train."

Keep up the good work, you deserve the lost pounds. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Welcome Back, Lesli!

Yes, I'm WAY ready to leave (emotionally, not done with anything!)

DD will be fencing only in the 4:00 tourney today - YEAH!!!! I'll be able to get at least something done.

I was up most of the night. DS18 (who lives in apt) drove to Phoenix yesterday. I got a call about 3 from a check cashing place in PHX wanting me to identify him. SCARY!! He works nights and a friend's brother had his first baby so he wanted to be there & flights were booked so he pd DS $300+ expenses to drive him. DS was driving home last night. Didn't make it - had enough sense to sleep in the car. He has never driven on a trip before and had only 2 hours sleep yesterday. I barely dozed all night waiting for him to call. DH of course says he's 18, I need to stop being concerned about him, he's an adult. He seems to believe that parenthood ends at 18. NOT!!!!

Exercise likely won't happen today as DH is home. There is another neighborhood Gsale near here and I might go, but not sure I have the energy.
Other than fencing, today will be clean & pack. (At least the packing part is fun!)

Last night I had Flat out w/ ff cheese quesadilla & mango salsa. Then a dozen chips. Managed to stay w/in points even if my cookie dough breakfast wasn't the best choice!

TTNW: DD and I will be anxiously awaiting the time to get on the train. I'll get up early and do the last possible laundry & DS15 work/gym clothes. He got another raise & a promotion to team leader at Chick Fil A. He's gotten $1/hour raise since they opened in Nov. Not bad for 15. We get on the train about 12:30, will have lunch. I'll want to nap, but will stay awake until we go through Raton Pass - then it's off to slumber land. I'm sure DD will want to sit in the observation car when we get to the CO plains so she can watch the deer & antelope. Then it will be dinner/movie & bed. We'll get out and walk for about 10 min at Trinidad when there is a longer stop.

Sounds like a good "relaxing" day for you. ;)

I understand what you mean about kids thinking that you need to let go when they reach "adulthood". DD17 is one month away from 18 and with having graduated already, she is becoming scarce around here and can't understand why I get a little perturbed now and then that she doesn't take much time to help out (unless she really wants something). She's a good kid, but she just can't stop reminding us that she will be gone and somehow she usually comes across as we know absolutely nothing about the real world. I am now at the point of "go find out for yourself", then come back and we'll see who knows what. Children, you gotta love them, but there are definitely reasons why you want them to leave home. One day, they will understand that the concern never ends. Ask my grandma, she'll be 78 and still worries about everyone.

Have fun packing! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I am so jealous of your train trip! It sounds like such a fascinating way to travel. I bet the scenery is really neat!

Glad to hear you're not stuck at the tournament all day! Sounds like you had a very long night last night. I can't imagine that there's some kind of switch that just turns off when they turn 18--of course you're going to worry! Thank goodness everything turned out OK.

Have a wonderful day!!!

today is interesting. Called DS at about 6:30 a.m. He had gotten tired and slept along the road. Smart not to drive. At 11:30 our time - 6 hours later. He still was not in ABQ - a 7 hour drive total. Worry kicks in. DH goes ballistic because I'm concerned. DS calls at 12:30 our time. Had a blow out this morning just after I talked to him. WALKED 25 miles into Show Low AZ and was calling collect from a pay phone as he has no cell service. He had no tire wrench. He & friend bought a wrench and were going to walk back to car or try to hitch a ride, put on the little spare and drive back in to Show Low to try to get a new tire on. UGH!!!! It's about 105 there at present. Fun Fun Fun! And, he may end up missing work tonight at 10. NOT a smart move.

So, I'm REALLY needing that train ride now! Calgon take me away!!!! Or should I say AMTRAK take me away!

Breakfast Kashi (4), lunch a roll up (4) and cookie dough while stressing on 2 phones at once(3)

What a DAY!!!

The DS saga continued, actually until this morning.

Turns out the Blow Out occurred at about 80 mph on a 2 lane road on the side of a mountain with NO guardrails. His car spun 3 times. Can you say Thank you Lord!!! It's a wonder they didn't go off the edge. I think his guardian angel deserves combat pay. The only tire place in Show Low wouldn't take his check or call me for a credit card. They scraped together enough for 1 tire but think that 2 more were damaged in the spinning. Wonderful. Made it 47 miles to Holbrook to try to find somewhere to take a check for gas - no luck. DH had to wire him money. They had by this time been up over 2 days, so go a cheap motel room and slept until about 1 a.m., showered and got back to ABQ about 6 this morning. Thru most of this he had no cell service and I've been a nervous wreck.

Fencing was LONG - late starting actually - but went well. DD got 3rd and this was all adults. I drank only water and vegged on a couch thru most of it. Both of us were really hungry and she wanted McD's. I almost gave in, but didn't. I came home and had chips w/ cheese and salsa. Not a great choice, and I went 3 pts over yesterday, but could have been MUCH worse. I wanted to stress eat all day long.

I got basically nothing done yesterday, so today I really have to fly. I just can't concentrate well under stress like that.

According to DD 6 days 5 hours 7 min until we leave. At this point it seems like an eternity.

Sometime yesterday morning - which seems like an eternity ago, I walked for 30 minutes going to some neighborhood Garage Sales. Better than nothing!! And fun!

More later....

Oh Jules. Hugs, positive thoughts and dancing bananas headed your way! His guardian angel deserves not only combat pay, but a promotion! So glad your son is safe.
