I wanted to share with you all something I found over on Cruise Critics boards. It is a link to coupons for some of the sites for Key West.
:
Thank you so much for the coupons! That's going to save me over $30!!! :cool1:
I hope everyone has a wonderful day and that those who are ailing are quickly mended!
I spent the morning printing off a whole tree worth of confirmations and directions. It felt good to check something off the to do list!
I'm hoping to finish most of the laundry today and make a big dent in the packing. Monday is our city's trash amnesty day, so I've got to gather everything up for that as well. Fun, fun.
I'm up for an after dinner meet on the Deck 7 aft veranda--sounds like fun!
I'll also hang around the ship model at 11ish. DH will have his lime green polo shirt on and I'll have a lime green DIS lanyard on. Please say hi if you see us!!!

Hi everyone! Hope I'm not late to the party! So excited about the cruise. This will be our first cruise experience. Picked up some great tips on this site. Traveling with DH, DD's ages 4 and 3. Anyone from Chicago? I thought I saw that someone was from Montgomery, IL? We live in west Joliet near Plainfield and we know the Montgomery/Aurora area. Have family there and my niece was just born at Rush Copley. Hope to meet some of you!! It's just about sunset here and can't believe that in one week I'll b e seeing a spectacular sunset in Key West!!! :rotfl:

Hey,
Ok, it's addictive now to have a place to share the excitement. Jillane, 22 of us fly out of Oakland, CA, we "Pick Up" 4 more on our stopover in New Mexico, and the two sane ones fly in on their own from Washington state. We will be arriving Friday night and staying at the Embassy Suites by the airport. We then have a private mini bus picking us up kit n kaboodle bright and early Saturday.
Sooo exciting!
We have a group room booked at Palo and all the shore excursions are planned. We've had so much rain here in CA this spring that a bit of Caribbean sun will be just the ticket!
Have fun with your planning! :sunny:
Awesome! My fam (19 of them) are flying out of Oakland on Fri. DW and I will be leaving from KC later that day. We're also staying at Embassy Suites that night.
We're all so excited! It's my grandparents' 50th anniv!

Howdy, neighbor!!! DH and I are the ones who hail from Montgomery. We live about 10 minutes from Rush Copley.
I know there's at least one other Chicago family going with us--I think they hail from Wheaton.
I just can't sit still tonight knowing we're going so soon. I'm going to be just useless at work this week!!!

Know what you mean about work this week pearlieq. It just feels like Friday is a major holiday and the whole world should be slowing down to plan for it!

Gina, thank you so much for the coupons!
DisneyMay06...never too late to join the party...welcome!
Also, I was just reading on the main board about cruise meets. It said something about how lots of people try to do a 3pm meeting in the Promenade Lounge. I thought we could add that to our list as well. I know that everyone probably won't be able to make it to the "terminal meeting" and the promedade lounge at 3 and deck 7 at 10 but hopefully we can all make it to one of those locations. And if not, I'll try to always have a green ribbon on somewhere, so feel free to say hi if you see me in the elevator. (I mean on the STAIRS! I'll be taking the STAIRS! LOL) I know I'll probably be approaching strangers who are just "accidentally" wearing lime green. Oh well! Hope they don't think I'm too much of a nutcase! (I can just see them now..."Uh, what the heck is a DISboard?")

The weather is so gloomy in Chicago today! So looking forward to fun in the sun. I think I'm so excited that I can barely function. My husband and I were up late talking last night about all the things we can't wait to do. He was in the Navy for four years and I think he can't wait to get back on a ship. Looking forward to all those starry nights! As for pirate night, we are dressing tropical. My husband went to Wal-Mart and picked up fake gold teeth for the girls. They were super cheap. I don't know what is funnier, seeing the girls with the fake teeth trying to say "ARRH" or my husband's impression of Jack Sparrow. I know that pirate night is going to be a blast! Quick question for those who have been on the Magic before: We booked our trip late so the online ressies for Palo were already booked for the brunch and the tea. Think I'll have a chance once I get on board? Heard that I'll probably have to do the mad dash to Rockin D's to be put on the list. I booked dinner by stroke of luck one day on the website. I just heard that the brunch is awesome. But I got the dinner so I'll at least have gone to Palo's once. I wish it was SATURDAY! Keep on swimming........ :fish:
Another Chicago area family here too! We live in Carol Stream. Are you flying out of Midway or OHare? We leave out of OHare Friday evening. We have 3 families cruising together, with a total of 6 kids...2 girls (7 & 8) and 4 boys (10, 10, 11, 13). I'm not sure who is more excited...the kids or adults. :rotfl:
We decided (very last minute) to do tuxedos for the males in our group. They all went to get measured on Saturday and we placed our order online and the tuxes will be waiting in our staterooms (or so we hope...if not, you'll know who we are as the boys/men will be VERY casual on formal night!).
We had originally planned to go all out for pirate night pirate: but time got away from us and we never went to get costumes. Wow...was my 13 year old relieved...he was mortified at the idea of his parents dressing up as a pirate and wench!!! All the more reason to do it I say...hmmmm...do I still have time?
I saw several of you will be enjoying Paradise Beach on Wednesday of next week with us (can you believe it...WEDNESDAY OF NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!). I cannot wait ...I know the kids will have a blast on that floating iceberg and water trampoline. They are looking forward to the waverunners too.
Aaahh...still so much to do this week. Hope to meet many of you...any decision yet on the meet time/place. Look up my picture so you recognize me...you'll find it in the dictionary under PROCRASTINATOR.
Have a great day!

We are flying out of Midway on Friday at 12:50 on Southwest. This is our first flying experience with our girls (ages 4 and 3). So this should be interesting. Im sure that I'll be so needing a cocktail once we board. We booked Palo's on Saturday night, and so looking forward to the adult time. Anyone else going that night? I stressed over what to wear for formal night. We booked our trip late and with the kids going to prom the selection was bascially crap and crap. So I'm wearing a dressy pantsuit with some nice jewerly and some awesome shoes. And my husband bought a new suit and it looks great. So we're not going all out, but we will still look good and hopefully still feel comfortable. I got the girls princess outfits from the Disney store. So my four year old will be dressed as Belle and my three year old as Cinderella. The four year old refused to take it off when we bought it at the mall. So she wore it home along with her Burger King crown, priceless!!

Welcome DisneyMay06 and Linuxwebguy and any other new ones that joined our craziness!
Thanks for all the prayers and pixie dust. DH's back is better today and he was able to go to work. It still hurts a bit, but at least he can move around and function.
I am getting so anxious and excited - so are the kids. :Pinkbounc This week will be complete craziness. I have 1 meeting, 2 softball games, 3 appointments and 4 days before we leave! I packed most of the clothes yesterday, just have DD(8) to pack for and then all the misc. and last minute stuff.
DDF(Dee Dee), we have 6 kids between 2 families - 2 girls (8, 9) and 4 boys (4, 5, 5, 7). I am SO looking forward to our day at Paradise Beach. :sunny: Your men will be stylin in their tuxes! It's all I can do to get DH in a tie. My two DS's are very excited about wearing their new ties though.
Thanks for the coupons Gina!
Heather from NJ - I'll be eating salads all week trying to get those last few lbs off. SInce I've been sick for more than a week, I haven't done any exercise so it's been tough! Oh well, we won't care once we are on the cruise! :cheer2:
Lisa - glad you are feeling better!
To all those of you who have to work this week, I sure feel for you! Hopefully you have sympathetic bosses. :surfweb:

Isn't it great just to sit back with tons of free time thinking about sitting back next week with tons of free time? I DON'T THINK SO!!! :badpc: It's getting crazier as the "hour" approaches and yet I want it to s-l-o-w d-o-w-n or it will fly right past me. Life is already too brief - as we have learned in Dave's case. Before we all get too caught up in the next four days of madness I want to challenge each of you to pause and relish the moments - and for once I'm NOT talking about chocolate souffle's. That's NEXT week. :stir:
You are all jogging my memory of (little) children at home. (In spite of that I am enjoying your pre-trip planning!) I remember the wonderful quotes from long trips to grandma's house like "I'm bored", "I gotta GO", "She's (DS) looking out MY window" and so forth and so on. Now they are 30 and 26 and swapping "The Book of Farts" annually at Christmas. Oh, the loss of innocence. :3dglasses
For you first time cruisers rest assured the "unknowns" of today will melt into relief and calm when you plan your next cruise - and I assure you, after next week, you WILL plan another ASAP. (As soon as we hock our furniture and sell a few pints of blood we'll do the same thing!!!) Don't worry. The real difference between "worry" and "concern" is ULCERS. :worried: It's all going to work out fine. (Did you know in musical terminology the word "fine" is pronounced "fee-nae" and means the "end"! Remember that the next time someone asks you "How are you?" and you answer "Fine!) :confused3
My DW's new bathing suit is supposed to arrive by UPS today. (I thought I was concerned about getting the tickets!) You should see her watching for the "Brown Truck" with binocculars and her track shoes on!! I'm glad I'm the introvert of the family!
If we don't have time to post a great deal this week DW and I want to wish for all of you a very safe trip to PC. Remember the end of the first "leg" of your trip will be sheer "Magic" - and it only gets better from there! :wizard: We wish you all Godspeed and traveling mercies. Have a fantastic (though busy) week of preparations and relax. It's all gonna be fine - er, uh - great :thumbsup2
Later my friends!
Chris :dancer:
BTW - For the record I have decided NOT to wear a lime green Cinderella outfit and I have gained 6 pounds in the last 30 days - I guess it's the revenge of the chocolate bunnies!! I'm still in shape. (Round is a shape isn't it?) :dumbo:

You want to talk about "wide load" I have seriously fallen off my exercise and good eating routine and the lovely Polish man that cleans our offices at night frequently leaves Polish candy in my desk for me - this morning there was the BIGGEST candy bar with nuts in it I have ever seen. It's gigantic - as will be my butt by Saturday! 'Cause you know I have to eat it...wouldn't want to hurt his feelings ;)
I'll be here on and off till the end of the week but anyone who will not be - Have a great week and the safest of travels to the port. Hope to meet at least some of you on board. :wizard:

Love to, but I can't get it off my DS (30) - (now THAT'S a scary thought! Hope he's not reading th--OUCH!) :duck: If you like green, I'll just stop brushing my teeth! Remember, be "true" to your teeth and they won't be "false" to you!! :teeth:
(BOY! You folks have got far too much freetime on this board! Now you're ganging up on me! )
Why is it no one was here until I posted and now it's "pick-on-Chris-time"? (Did you know you can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose? Although I have never tried to experience that myself!) :rolleyes1
We just booked "Dining with Shamu" (the whale, not me in my bathing suit!) for the week after the cruise. If any of you have the chance to go to Seaworld in Orlando be sure to eat there. Remember NOT to put salt on the escargots like I did last time. They all disappeared!?! ( :snail: Visualize THAT!)
Bye - again!

Good Morning all! We are another day closer and I can't contain myself. Had a hard time working yesterday. Of course I had to start sending out emails telling payroll to send it to my boss next and the ladies downstairs who email me timecards to send them to him next week. Although they are all scared that my boss will do something wrong, I know he can handle it because he has done it all before!
Had my first really vacation brain fart yesterday. I've set myself a ton of reminders on my email calendar to do things so I don't forget. Well last week I set one for yesterday and did not write what the reminder was about! Went crazy trying to figure it out for about a hour retracing what I did on Friday to make me remember. Nothing, notta, zip. Hopefully it was something I already thought to do.
Well have a good day, and hopefully I get some work done at work today instead of daydreaming!
Heather, glad to hear your DH is feeling better!

The day after tomorrow we leave for the airport! :cool1:
This week feels like it's flying by. I may be starting to panic a little. Just slightly. I'm actually kind of ahead of the game.
I have a huge, tedious work project that I'm trying to get done before I leave, so I don't have to have it hanging over my head while we're on the ship. Other than that, I'm trying to get the last loads of laundry in and take care of other small chores. I also have to go in today and have them do something about my unibrow. Did it ever strike anyone as funny that we do all these things to pretty up for people who have never met us and that we'll never see again? :teeth:
I hope everyone has a great day today!!! :sunny:

Hi Everyone!
Well I at least have ds onboard (pun intended) with the excitement! He is telling me everyday what the countdown is! :cool1: My room looks like a suitcase factory exploded, but I have absolutely NO organization there. I have just been pitching stuff in the suitcases as I think of it. I'll have dh repack them on Thursday. He's a pro at making stuff fit in suitcases.
Heather: so glad that Marc is feeling better! Tell him to take it easy and lift with his knees when he goes to loading suitcases. :goodvibes

Don't worry! Nobody's gonna die if all the "chores" don't get done! Besides, you can always blame David!! (The eternal male scapegoat!) :rotfl:
Relax and just try not to think about the fact that the contractor who built the plane you are flying on was the lowest bidder! Hmmmmmm? Not sure if that helps???
Yesterday I got home about 5 PM and discovered my DW had not had one of her better days at her job. Nothing I said or did seemed to be right or would help. :furious:
By 7 PM things hadn't improved, so I suggested I go outside, pretend I had just gotten home, and start all over again. She agreed. :groom:
I went outside, came back in and with a big smile, announced, "Honey, I'm home!"
"And just where have you been?' she replied. "It's after 7 o'clock!"
Thanks Melissa - I am very rarely referred to as "wise". Most often it is "wise-guy"! (Why? I have no idea!) :teeth: Cullen Hightower once wrote "Those who agree with us may not be right, but we admire their astuteness." My philosophy is a quote from Robert Louis Stephenson - "Our business in life is not always to succeed, but to continue to fail in good spirits!" In that I have had MUCH experience!! ::yes::
As to the lime green dress, Lisa - the truth is - it made my butt look fat! (Maybe fushia - whatever color THAT is - would have helped!! :upsidedow )
Time once again to run :bounce: Have a great Tuesday all - Saturday is coming!!! :cheer2:

Happy Tuesday! Only three more stressed out days to go! The to-do list just keeps getting longer. Working on one of them now: Clean house so when sister comes to feed fish she doesn't think we live like pigs. My husband thinks I'm neurotic and you know I think he's right. I'm like stalking UPS to find out where my dress is so I have something to wear for the semi-formal whatever dinner? I agree, why the heck do we care what we wear for people we are never going to see again? Husband disagrees, I think he's completely excited not to see his wife in jogging pants and t shirts. I'm just happy that I'm going away and get to sleep in a bed that I don't have to make and eat a meal that I didn't have to cook or clean up. I'm a stay at home mom and I don't get out much. And since this is my first vacation in five years, I'm just a little excited. Just wondering, by the grace of god I booked a ressie for Palo for the first night, and now I just read that there is no child care in the Club or Flounder's because they do an open house for parents. Is this true?

I think that same suitcase factory exploded in my bedroom as well! I made DH haul all the suitcases we own - of all sizes and shapes - out of the attic. He said "you mean we are taking ALL of these?" I said "No, of course not, I just need to see them all to figure out which ones we need". He didn't think it was very funny. :rotfl: So now I have 1 very large one and 3 smaller ones packed, along with many empty ones scattered about. Oh, and I will be the one loading the suitcases. I am the pro at making stuff fit in the car, plus there is no way I'm letting DH hurt his back again. :)
1 softball game down, we won! :thumbsup2 1 meeting done with, 1 appointment later today, 1 tomorrow, 1 Thursday and 1 more softball game on Thursday and I can breath easy!
DisneyMay06, :wave2: I am also a SAHM and live in work-out type clothing and a baseball cap. DH will be thrilled to have me looking finer than usual. My boys saw me trying on my black formal dress and said "wow mom, you look beautiful, like a princess!" - they are 5 yrs old, it was so sweet. :cloud9:
Happy packing everyone!

Checking in from the dreary Northeast here. I'm starting to panick about having everything done in time. I have to lite a wick under DH butt to get him to get his clothes together. I guess that will be done when we get back from DD's first softball game if it is not raining again tonight. She has another one tomorrow night plus gold star band practice.
DD7's teacher gave her a story to read in their reading books and a multiple question "quiz" when done. Along with 9 pages to do in the workbook. She is only in 2nd grade! The sad thing is she talked to me on Monday and made it sound like she was doing me a favor and it wasn't much work. Yes it is if the kid gets 2 pages of math and a spelling page to do every night. DD12 who is in 6th grade, her teacher said to be sure to bring back lots of pictures to show the class all about her trip. Talk about night and day. Ok, rant over. :confused3
I had to cancel our nail appointment for today. Just not enough time to get it done, at least the girls didn't know about it. But I bought us a tropical color so we can do our own and match. I'm not a pedicure kinda gal, sorry Chris. Don't like anyone touching my feet. Too ticklish. I do promise to make my feet look as good as I can though. :teeth:
Happy Hump Day all!
Oh, and Sharon, hear you about the boss taking over while you are gone. Everyone is freaking about mine doing payroll. Still haven't figured out what I was reminding myself to do on Monday, hopefully it is already done. :rolleyes1

However, here on the Gulf Coast it has rained only two days in two months. Before we - the last of the May 6th Dis Board crew - pack up the stuff and head to PC, I thought it might be good to help us get a bit better "informed" as to some Mexican culture and maybe a little history so we can be better prepared to understand those we meet in Cozumel. :chat:
Did you know in 1912 when the Titanic was making her maiden voyage she was carrying the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss.
Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day. The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as:
Sinko de Mayo. :lmao:
With that thought, I have almost run out of time to post "pre-cruise". (I heard that collective "thank goodness!") The anticipation of meeting each of you in "the flesh" has added great excitement to what is for us an "event of a lifetime". (When you get to my age you can say that about almost anything, i.e. waking up, sleeping all night without a trip to the bathroom, etc.) :woohoo:
You're humor and love you have for your families has been clearly conveyed in each and every post. You are a grand group of folks indeed - even you "potential" snowbirds. (I saw a bumper sticker that said "So many snowbirds, so little freezer space.") :rotfl2:
May God's richest blessings protect each of you and yours as you travel. May the next several days be long and filled with "magic" :wizard: to relish for years to come.
DW & I hope all your dreams come true this week and the rest of your lives. See you IN the "adventure"! God bless! ::yes::

Woo HOo!!! We leave day after tomorrow!! :cool1:
I'm headed to the airport to pick up DD18. She's flying in from school to join us and wanted to be around for the last days preparation and excitement. We are having a family pedicure party for all the DD7's tonight and painting their toes pink with a little silver mickey just for good measure.
Our nine staterooms worth of doorsigns are all packed in their own carry-on suitcase. Come on up to deck six forward to have a look at our handiwork if you get a chance!
The piles of clothes in my bedroom can now safely be transferred to the suitcases as I finish the last of the laundry. I guess I don't want to pack too soon so ther is no danger of me simply sitting on my suitcase by the front door for the next 48 hours! :yay:
We are all planning to wear black and white on Animator's night for Gram's benefit. Black and white is her absolute favorite. Chris, she has told everyone at work about her new friends on the Magic. Sure hope you get a chance to meet my wonderful gram!! She seems to make friends where ever she goes. I'm sure this will be no exception. We look forward to seeing you around the ship. :wave2:
We are all so excited and looking forward to a wonderful week. Everybody travel safe and seize the day!!
Wendi :earsgirl:
Hi Everyone!
Who was the crazy one to schedule baseball games Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week...oh yeah, that was me!! My son plays travel ball and we have games all week...my to do this is growing and growing. The weather has been kind of crummy in the Chicago area though, and if we get more rain this afternoon, I am sure tonight will get cancelled. You won't see me pouting! But I am soooo excited!!! I know everything will get done...why can't I always function in pre-vacation mode.
I can relate to the stay at home moms getting all dressed up! I too am a SAHM and spend most of my time in super casual clothing...I look forward to the chance to dress up!
Off to do errands for the day...did we decide officially on the meet time/place...or are we just watching out for lime green??

We leave for the airport tomorrow night!!! :cool1:
I'm about halfway packed. I'm guessing DH will start at around 6pm tomorrow. I've got all my paperwork together--I just need to get it organized.
Today's project is to get to the library and find a book or two for the cruise. Plus, I need to change around my purse. But, my favorite thing, and the one I'm most looking forward to is also tonight! We get to take the change jar to the bank!!!! Whatever's in there is our spending money for the trip. DH and I have both registered our guesses, so I can't wait to see what we come up with. :Pinkbounc
I should be finishing the last of my work by the early afternoon. I'm looking forward to having that monkey off my back.
I hope everyone has a great day!
P.S. Here was my understanding about what we came up with for meets on the first day:
11:00am - 11:30 am - meet in the terminal in front of the model ship
3:00pm - meet in Promenade Lounge (deck 3)
10:00pm - meet on the Deck 7 aft secret veranda
I can't wait to meet all of you. I hope you can make it!

Hey Wendi!
Welcome Jones Family Reunion!!! Any teens traveling with you? Who do you have transporting you from the hotel?? Nothing quite like a bit of troop movement to start off a vacation right, eh?
No idea. DW and I were going to be flying in Sat morning (arriving at 10:15am), but ended up getting our flight changed to Fri night (arriving about 10:20pm). So I don't know what the scoop is. I know we've rented a short bus, or something. So if you see a bunch of people all getting out of a short bus with the same shirts on, that would be us. My grandparents have an embroidery business, so we have some matching stuff for the trip.
I also found out that some of our party are leaving from Sacramento. Ironically, the ones that live closest to Oakland, are driving up to Sacramento. :) Part of our party is up there, so we're coming in from all angles.
I also found out that the father/grandfather of part of our party passed away yesterday. He was very ill and they expected it. But everyone is still going. I think there is going to be a Mass for him tomorrow (Thurs). What better way to put something out of your mind than time with your family and close friends... and on a Disney cruise! :sunny:

:rotfl2: Chris, whereever do you come up with these? My ds just came in wondering again why I was laughing out loud at the computer!
It is sunny and warm up here in the PAC NW, which is nice, but not as nice as it will be sitting on deck with the ocean breezes! :)
The next couple of days are "packed" with stuff ( ha ha) as we get last minute hair cuts, dogs groomed (got to look nice for the pet sitter...ha ha), and actually pack my suitcases. Laundry is on the top of that list as well. Ds has given up on school this week, no homework is getting done, but on the plus side, he aced his Algebra II test! Now I don't feel quite as guilty taking him out of school for a week. :)
Hope everyone has safe travels and I hope we all get to meet up at some time or another and compare notes on our "magical" vacation! :)

Wow you guys - you've been busy on this board, shouldn't you be packing or something? :rotfl:
I too am starting to panic over forgetting important things. Hopefully all the packing - except for those last minute items - will be done today! I went and had a mani/pedi done last night and I already chipped a nail! Oh well, at least I brought my own polish with me to the salon so I can fix it myself now. Still...
Just saw the forecast for our area while we are gone, they are calling for rain and 58 degrees M - W. So glad I'll be soaking up the sun on the Magic! :sunny:

Hi everyone!!
I think I finally have all my last minute shopping done. I think. (I'm sure I'll need to run to Target and get something in the next day, though. It never fails.)
Gina, that stinks about all the homework! Both my kids have it, too. But I had to do an "independent study," since they will be out for so long, so it's like I'm homeschooling them for that time. Theoretically the homework is supposed to be done each day, but you know we are going to try to jam as much in before we leave as possible! My DD already has her assignments...I'm still waiting for DS's.
Wendi...your gram has great taste...I love black and white, too! I brought a b&w outfit with me...if I end up wearing it on AP night, I'll just come and stand next to you guys. (LOL, I just got an image of myself sneaking into one of your family photos...I would blend right in, and then later you'd be looking at the photo...."hey wait! who's THAT chick?!" Heehee!) Also, we are on deck 6 midship....I'll be sure to wander up the hall and check out your doorsigns!
Pearlieq....that's cool about the change jar....let us know who wins the "guess."
Heather....I'm getting a mani/pedi tomorrow, and I KNOW I'll chip a nail before Saturday. It never fails. I always take my own polish, too, for that very reason!
Have a great day, you guys....see you SOOOON!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that may not be reading the main cruise board that the beachline and I-95 continue to be closed due to smoke issues from the fires. Before you head to the port, check your route. I pray it will be open and the fires extinguished prior to Saturday...not only for our sake, but for the folks in Orlando dealing with the fires!

Good point. Over the last couple of days there have been intermittent closures of those two roads. If you are driving down once you hit Daytona find an Orlando radio station and listen for the traffic reports. This fire has been going for a week now.

Welcome home, everyone!!!
DH and I made it home around 10:00pm last night. After a long and joyous reunion with the kitties, we collapsed into bed.
Unfortunately, our neighbor thought that 8:45 on Sunday morning was a perfect time to begin sawing stones for his patio, so I've been up for a while. Trying to get my thoughts together for a trip report/review.
I hope everyone had safe travels!
Edited to add: I got my trip report finished today (or it never would have happened!). Here's the link:

We got back just at midnight on Saturday. We had plans to meet up at the terminal at 11-11:30 but I did something very, very stupid....I left my drivers license at home in my cell phone case! :confused3 Didn't realize it until we got the the airport (a good hours drive) when I was asked for my id. We only had 1-1/2 hours until our flight was leaving so I called my parents to help get it to me before the plane left. They missed it by 5 minutes and SWA sent my license on their first non-stop flight Saturday morning that got in at 12:40pm. So I cried all the way to the long DCL bus line clutching my license and found out about 15 minutes later that the port was closed. We did not leave the airport until 2:30pm and by the time we got to port and made it thru the long lines for security and checked in we got onboard just as they were saying "5 minutes until life boat drill" so we ran to the room and got our life jackets. I have to say that I was not on vacation until my first glass of wine was finished at dinner!
We did have a good time. Disappointed I did not get to meet more of you. We were with Sneezy63 (Melissa) and her family all week, our daughters spent every moment they could together, so adorable. Saying goodbye was very hard on my daughter. Also meet Hokey, our daughters were in the club together and found each other, also very cute to see them together.
Hope all are back safe, sound and healthy!

Hi everyone. I hope you all had a great cruise. We got home between 9 and 9:30 AM on Saturday. I spent the day unpacking, grocery shopping and washing the avalanche of clothes. :rotfl:
Just a word about the terminal evacuation and "suspicious" luggage...that was one of the fastest responses I have ever seen from JR and his gang (the Brevard County Sherrif's Office Bomb Squad). It could have been a lot longer. The bomb squad first has to assemble in Titusville. And the team is located all over the county. Then they have to move from Titusville to wherever the call is. In this case, the Port. The Port is a good 30 to 45 minutes away from Titusville. The Bomb Squad was on scene in under an hour. So that is practically AMAZING. The evacuation never made the local news as far as I know. As for what we were evacuated for...I still don't know the full story. All I do know is a dog alerted on a bag. What would cause a dog to alert? A number of things...someone mentioned fertilizer...a possibility, but I have not heard of that before, especially just a transfer from putting a bag in the grass. If someone had stored a gun or ammunition in a bag prior to using it for this travel, a dog could alert on that. I'll see if I can get more info. Can't guarantee it though.
As much fun as vacation was, it was so nice to get home.

Hey everybody!! Welcome home. I really wish Restu, our stateroom host were here to make my bed for me this morning. What a harsh return to reality! It was so great to get to meet a few of you! How fun to hve a few familiar faces to encounter around the ship. We had such a wonderful time! The entertainment crew, Travism Pikey and Michael kept Gram hopping and she really enjoyed her visits with you Chris!
I hope everybody made it home safely and is not too overun with laundry. Seems like I've been washing clothes nonstop since we arrived home. At least it is good and warm here in CA so we are still soaking up the sun. Now i'll just have to be content with my essential oils from the spa, If I close my eyes it almost feels like the Rainforest room... :goodvibes
It was a pleasure sailing with you all!!!

Hello everyone:
We made it to WDW and also to the cruise. We had a great time and have booked one for next year, April 28! Last Eastern before the Magic sails off to Europe. Anyone else on that one? There's probably a meet already for that one out, so I'll find it later.
My biggest disappointment is that I didn't meet all of you. In fact, in general, my dh and I would have loved to have made some friends on board. We met one family, hi Lynn, and they were great, but we never arranged to spend some time together, and we just ran into each other.
In a boat full of people, we still felt a bit lonely. And I'm a friendly person!
Our suitcases all arrived, and there were too many of them!
I feel very jet lagged right now as we were up 23 hours on Saturday! (we had to get up at 5:30 am to go to the immigration thing for aliens, and then our flight didn't leave until 6:15 p.m.We arrived in our home at 1 am Sunday morning which is 4 am florida time!
AAAAA.... and then my mom phoned at 8:30 a.m. Sigh....vacations leave you so tired! At least mine all do.
We should compare notes! Loved the shows, the food was good, the restaurants very noisy!
Anyone booking again, and for what cruise?
Sandra, from Canada eh.

Hi everyone! Welcome back. We had a wonderful time. The kids especially - they had a blast. We are all still fatigued - mostly from the time change from east to west I presume, but also because I got sick on the cruise and so did one of my DS5. On Tuesday I woke up with a scratchy irrated throat. Didn't change much until late Wednesday when I completely lost my voice and had a sore throat. It didn't stop me from having fun but it made conversation pretty hard. I just smiled and waved alot! Then DS5 got sick on Friday night - he woke up crying at 4:00am (actually Saturday morning). He was burning up with fever. Thankfully I had lots of meds with me but still I was thinking about our long trip back home with a sick little boy. Thankfully after dosing with Tylenol, he felt much better until it wore off and I just dosed again. We arived home at 10:30pm west coast time and had been awake since 6:00am east coast time to get off the ship. Talk about a LONG day!
We had rented a car to get back to the airport for our 5pm flight - in hopes of hanging out at downtown Disney or something, but we were so incredibly tired, we just went to the airport and hung out for 7 hours before our 7 hour flight home. Not fun.
It was fun meeting many of you. I kept running into Melissa (Sneezy) all the time - it was great, I also saw Heather (imheather) many times. So fun to see some familiar faces. I was sad not to meet Chris and the rest of ya. All in all, it was really a great trip, :thumbsup2 we did not rebook though.
More later...
