Hi to everyone who still checks this thread periodically. I am writing this from the Disney Magic. We are at the end of our Western Cruise. The girls are now 13 and have been living at the Stack. Hope everything is well with all of you.
Lionel
Hi Lionel! I'm so jealous! I'm sure you and your family are having a great time. I'll bet the girls just love the Stack.
Did you bother attending the character breakfast? If so, how is it since they changed the format? I've heard it's called by a different name now and that the characters no longer come around to the tables for pics.
I also read something about the sail away party changing too. Anything different about that?
Thanks! And.....carry on with the fun! This must be your last day. :sad1:

I hope this message finds everyone well. Here is a summary of what has been going on in our lives.
The figure skating competitions for the girls are done for this year. We ended up being in 3 in the Atlanta area and 1 in the Philadelphia area in July.
As a result of the total lack of a figure skating store in the Altanta area, we opened one. (At times, I believe I am just plain NUTS!)
The store opened on Saturday, October 6--a week after we got back from the Disney Western Caribbean cruise. The Grand Opening went well and people are slowly getting to know where the store is.
I was able to convince some of the suppliers to set us up as an authorized dealer without actually having a storefront. Therefore, we had a lot of merchandise when we opened the doors that most new stores do not have.
I now have the task of trying to get an ecommerce site set up for the store. The website is www.toepicksandsticks.com. Right now, there is a very basic site there made through Google.
On the cruise in September, the girls got to go to the Stack. (They had just turned 13). Needless to say, I did not get to sleep before midnight on any night of the cruise as I had to wait up for them.
I wanted to book one of the Repo cruises in 2008, but they are sold out. (And, I doubt that my practice could sustain me being gone for 2 weeks straight). So, I booked 2 cruises--one with my DVC points (January 5, 2008), and I booked one on the ship (the Western Alternative Double Dip--September 27, 2008). Raquel made me promise to book the September cruise because a bunch of the teens that they met on the last cruise are supposed to be on the Double Dip September 2008 cruise.
Hope to see some of you on one of the cruises.

Lionel, congrats to the girls on their competition results! :woohoo:
Best wishes on the new store! You sure have your hands full now! :scared1:
Yes, the 2008 repo cruises are sold out, but occasionally a couple rooms open now and then as people cancel. A Cat. 6 will be opening soon because another group will be cancelling on the 5/10/08 repo.

We finally got the group cruises off the ground. (Lots of false starts, including me having a detached retina and having to have surgery. I'm fine now.)
Check out www.catscruise.com.
We have four Kentucky Basketball Legends who we're cruising with next summer. Just an inexpensive Carnival one, because we wanted to get as many people as possible on board.
Our Disney Legends will be online in about ten days, and theres talk about a Pittsburgh Steelers fan cruise too. (THAT ought to be fun!!)
If we don't talk, all of you have a GREAT holiday season!!

I hope this Post finds everyone well.
We just got off the cruise yesterday and are back to reality (or some semblance of it). We are in Detroit this week.
Both girls were supposed to train at the Detroit Skating Club--one will. Rebekah injured her ankle on the first full day of the cruise--Sunday. As a result we got to meet the nurses on the ship, Dr. Nick on the ship, and get the 50 cent tour of the medical center on the ship.
We all believe that she tore a ligament. In any case, she is off the ice for a while. Hopefully, she can work on off ice training while Raquel is on the ice.
We are going again on the September 27, 2008 Alternative Western Cruise. Is anyone also going on that cruise?

Well, howdy Lionel! How's Rebekah's ankle? I wish I had read this post in January because maybe Tyler and I could have popped over to Detroit for a short visit with you and your family. We only live an hour away. Bummer that I missed this. :guilty: Another time maybe!

Hi Ginny! Doing great, how about you?
I'm busy, but filled with excitement over our upcoming cruise in 27 MORE DAYS!!! :dance3: Tyler's so frustrated with me because I haven't gotten the suitcases down from the attic. I'm a last minute packer. I don't stress over lists and planning, I just throw all our clothes in the suitcases the night before, throw the bathroom stuff in the next morning before we leave, and we're out the door. If we forget anything, we can certainly buy it either on the ship or at one of the ports. Tyler, on the other hand, will be fully packed the day I get the suitcases down. :rotfl: He has a mental list of everything he wants to take. Good grief! He informed me he's bringing home this weekend the pirate outfit he got for Christmas at his dad's and wants to pack it now so it will be ready to go:

Tyler's grown so much!!! He's such a cutie and I don't blame him for being excited. Love his outfit and he will definitely fit in with the other pirates. ;)
I hope you guys have a wonderful cruise! Have a frothy drink for me!!!

Hey to all my friends from two years ago!
We've got the Disney "Legends (and More) Cruise" off the ground, along with pre-sailing activities at Disneyland next summer.
Check out www.legendscruise.net for details!
We've got Bob Gurr (designed the monorail), Michael Broggie (Disney historian and son of Legend Roger Broggie), Margaret Kerry (the model for Tinker Bell), and Terri Hardin (former Imagineer and designer of Disney collectibles) going. We'll probably be adding more.
Hope to see some of you on board!!!

Becky, the girls, and I just got left the Magic on Saturday. Everyone had a great time.
After we got off the ship, Becky had to stay in Atlanta because of an issue with the figure skating store and the girls and I went on to Detroit. Yes, we are living in 2 cities. And, yes we are nuts.
The girls were supposed to train at the Detroit Skating Club full-time from May thru October. Then, we were supposed to all be back in Georgia. The girls then joined a synchronized skating team. The season for synchro starts in September and Sectionals are in Denver in January. If they do well enough, they would go to Nationals in March. So, it appears that they are here full-time thru at least January.

Looks great Ed! :goodvibes I shared your info and link with the folks from my 5/10/08 Panama Canal cruise (that thread is still going like crazy, we're on our 6th thread since the cruise ended) and a few are interested. :thumbsup2 I'll try to remember to give them a reminder because we all chatter so much, things are easily forgotten. ;)

Hey Gang! Thanks for the support of the "Legends (and More) Cruise"!
We added X Atencio to the lineup. He is a really cool guy, and will be 90 years old at sailing! Can't wait to hang out with him and the others!
We're going to Walt's Barn with Michael Broggie, and Bob Gurr is going to get us into the monorail barn as well.
Check it out at www.legendscruise.net. I started a thread here on Disboards under the Disneyland section, but I'm not sure they'll allow it to stay up.
On a personal note, we're thinking about a four nighter next September on DCL, but haven't finalized it yet.
Take care everyone!

Let me know if you ever get a DCL off the ground. If you do, please send me an email at lpostic@mindspring.com.
Hope everyone is well.
