Are there any Starbucks near DL? We will be staying at Hojo's, what about Mimi's? How is their coffee? This is very important to me and I'm considering bringing my own cans of Trader Joe's triple espresso lattes! :earseek:

LOL I can relate! We will be looking for good coffee too. We grind our own esspresso roast beans every morning. It's SO good! We may just bring our own beans and grinder and ask for a coffee pot. BUT....... Part of the fun of being on vacation is finding a great place to get coffee and having someone else make it for you! I'll be interested in where to get the best coffee too! :)

LOL! I was thinking of posting this question as we got closer to our trip. We are BIG coffee lovers BUT, we hate Starbucks! Love Dairy Barn, Dunkin' Donuts, 7-11. I know there's a 7-11 close by.

I know you can get decent coffee (and fruit & yogurt parfaits) at the La Brea Bakery (DD). I also like the cafe au laits at the jazz kitchen... :) If I were going to the parks though, I would probably just get coffee and a cinnamon roll from the Blue Ribbon Bakery... :)

Here are the closest Starbucks:

The Marriott and the Hilton ones might be the best.

Oh, there's a coffee place in the Disneyland Hotel too where you can get your usual coffeehouse creations:

I hope this helps! :)

Hey! Another Oregonian here wondering the same thing! :umbrella:
I about died from withdrawal a few years ago in Orlando when I was in line at 7:30am for RnR, wondering "what am I doing here so early, and where the heck is my venti triple skinny latte?"

As a fellow PNWer, I can understand the desperate need for Starbucks, but, drats, there is not one anywhere near (walking distance)...I have often wondered about opening a franchise myself down there and making big bucks!

As far as really good coffee...No, there is NONE in the immediate DL vicinity. :guilty:

As far as warm black water that I'm willing to drink: LaBrea's at the park entrance is decent (does make Lattes...I had a couple a day there). The small bakery on Main Street (right before Carnations but can't remember it's name) also has decent coffee in the park (the ONLY one).

I remember Mimi's not being great and hotels all having the old giant drip machines.

If you have any canned stuff you can take with you, DO IT!

Looks like you are going to DL the same month we are and staying at the same hotel! Where in Oregon do you live? We are in the Beaverton/Aloha area and will be staying at the DL hotel Aug 21st-26th.

From the sounds of the coffee situation, it may be best for us to bring our own coffee, but I still want to try some of the places suggested. :)

We will be there Aug. 29 - Sep. 2. Too bad we'll miss you! We live in Gresham. I am planning to bring my own coffee and request a coffee maker for the room. I will just have to make 2 or 3 of those little 4-cup pots for DH, DS and me before we head out the door, and grab an espresso on my way in to the park. :drinking1

It does sound like it would be a good idea to bring our own coffee...then we have a choice and if we don't find something we like, we won't be coffeeless! We HAVE to have our coffee!! :hyper:

We're kind of fond of coffee from the Circle K convenience store at Euclid and Orangewood, southwest of DL about a mile. We also like Dunkin, but there aren't any around here anymore.

Both the Disneyland and Paradise Pier Hotels have coffee bars that open at 6 am. I prefer the coffee there to Starbucks any day. I am sure the Grand Californian also has one someplace.

The Storyteller's Cafe at GC had very good coffee, but we got a REALLY good cup of coffee at the Markethouse on Main Street. And for 2.50, if you keep your receipt, you can get free refills there all day long. You don't even have to keep the cup. :flower:

Compass Rose Bookstore in DTD has Peet's coffee - far superior to Starbuck's (IMHO!) :earboy2:

Wow, that's a good deal (If we like the coffee, that is). My husband and I are big time coffee drinkers. Thanks for the info!

We're in Wenatchee...apple country!

As far as coffee...yes, bring your own to have a choice! I forgot to do that last winter and wandered like a lost person searching for a latte...was kinda sad looking, begging people for good coffee.
LaBrea is OK if you need a latte on site.

Have fun!

Trying to talk DH into giving up his daily coffee during our trip to DL.... during our last trip to WDW we waited in line on a cool day for over 30 MINUTES for a plain old coffee for DH (at Epcot).... the kids and I were pretty tired of waiting by that point. It was by far, without a doubt, the longest line we waited in while at WDW!! I was rather disgusted! We won't be wasting our time like that at DL, let me tell you!.................P

LOL Another good reason to bring our own! The kids will be waiting in enough lines without having to wait in a coffee line for Mom and Dad too! We may try the DLH coffee bar though. I was thinking one of the kids and I could run down there before DH wakes up and we could bring coffee back up to the room. :)

OMG!!!! NO STARBUCKS!!!! How will DD survive??? No, seriously, this is going to be an issue for us! DD has to have her frappachino every morning! Last year when we were at WDW, someone here on the boards told us the Hilton had a Starbucks, so we hoofed it over there, hoping to get a few bottles (they only made them "fresh" and we didn't have a fridge in our room at CSR, so she had to "suffer", it wasn't pretty!). She has already asked where the closest one will be when we stay at the Candy Cane in July. So, don't be surprised is you see a post "where's the closest grocery store?" so we can buy enough to last for our trip. :wave2:

Caramel Frappachinos ARE my favorite! I will get one on our way out of town and that will probably be it for the week.

...desperation sometimes sets in! We stayed at the Embassy Suites in Garden Grove. I found a Starbucks in the lobby of a nearby hotel really near (I want to say the Hyatt.) And yes, I am another PNW'er (Washington) and was craving a caramel frap... The only thing bad is that location had limited hours. The first time I went, they were closed already for the day, so I had to come back the next day.

Here's the address:
11999 Harbor Blvd.
Garden Grove, CA

I am sure there are probably more locations, but this one is for sure!

Oh man, I can not let DD see this thread! We are traveling to CA for an ice skating competition, and one of the hotels offering discounts for the competitors is the Embassy Suites in Garden Grove! I decided to be closer to DL, so we're in Anaheim. If she finds out there would be a Starbucks (and her caramel fraps) I may not hear the end of it!! So, shhhhhhh, it's our secret! :rolleyes1

How's the coffee at The Coffee House at DLH? We'll be staying there in November and I get a bit desperate if I can't get my coffee.

Starbucks doesn't franchise! If they did, I would own about 50! sigh!

If you put in Anaheim it pops up a few. There are a few in local hotels.
