View Full Version : Best off-site closest to Parks?????

Thought I'd see what everyone's favorite off-site hotel was, that was closest to the Universal Parks.....Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I've got my web sites with pictures to look at.
Currently I'd say the Amerisuites, because it is within walking distance, no hotel smell, and they had an amazing free breakfast. Check it out here.

Next is the Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites 5 minutes to the south. This hotel is only a year old, so again, no hotel smell. They have a breakfast buffet, but you have to pay for it. Here is the info.

There are a few others that people on this board recommend, but I've never stayed in them.

I've stayed at the Amerisuites and the Doubletree. Both were fine although we preferred the Doubletree.

i have one more: the hawthorne suites. it is really great. it has a continental breakfast and is really close to us/ioa. u can even see some of the fireworks from disney and us/ioa if u get the right room. not to mention that its cheap!

We have stayed at the Wingate Inn before - close but not across the street, the cab fare was less than $5.00 to go to the parks. Decent rates & I have asked if they offered a "florida resident" discount - they offered me the same room for 10 or 15 dollars less!

I appreciate the suggestions--I only wish Universal had more on-site options and some on-site options in the value range.......

WE stayed at and loved the Crowne Plaza Universal. Cheap cab ride and quick to the parks, they also offer free transportation. Rooms were a nice size and modern and comfortable. I would stay there again if not staying on-site. I booked it using Hotwire and got an incredibly cheap rate, not sure if they offer it that cheap anymore.
