Digital Camera ?'s

I just purchased a digital video camera and really wanted to get a digital camera as well for our next trip to Disney World in June. I've looked at all your great photos and was wondering how many MP Resolution should I get to get those clear pictures of the fireworks and of course my kids :confused3

Here is a picture I took of Illuminations. I took this with a 3.3 mega pixel Olympus zoom camera. I has more to do with turning off your flash and opening you shutter all the way in order to get the clear pics. If you want good quality pics up to 8x10" then get no lower than 3 mega pixels. I do suggest you get one with digital zoom as it does make a difference. Check out this web site. It's by Cannon but has tons of useful info for this first time buyer.
