APH Rate for two nights not just one?

Hi all,

I have been trying to get one night at one of the onsite hotels for late May but I only get a decent rate when I put a request in for two nights. It comes up not available for just the one night but is available for two nights. Has anyone made a reservation for two nights to get a decent rate and then just modified it later for the one night only and kept the better rate?

Please advise.

Sometimes they enforce minimum length of stays especially on weekends. I booked RPR for four nights to get the AAA rate when there was a minimum length of stay and then called the hotel directly and cancelled two of the nights. It was no problem at all.
