No more contacts, no more glasses for me! i had lasik on Tuesday and have to say it is amazing!! Of course because of the $$ I'm going to have to be careful with my scrapping budget but never again will I have itchy dry eyes from contacts when I'm up late scrapping!! Yippee :3dglasses

OH Congrats! :cool1:
just think of all the money you are saving on contacts, solutions, glasses, etc!
Isn't it AWESOME
although I miust say it is the most bizarre procedure and I don't know if I could go through it again -
I had it done back in 2002 (I went to Canada where it was a LOT cheaper!) and am still amazed when I realize I don't have to wipe off glasses when it rains or deal with the itch!
Although during the winter when it gets dry insde sometimes they get 'dry and tired'

Wow, I have been contemplating whether or not to get this done. I have worn glasses since I was 12 so I would really love not to wear them, but I am wuss. Too wussy for contacts even. DH says to go for it, but I'm not sure: I'm afraid I would freak out.
Congratulations Julianne! Tell me it wasn't that bad, and maybe I'll consider it!

I had Lasik surgery almost 2 years ago and it feels like I was born this way! It is so nice to not be dependent on glasses or contacts. I have had no problems whatsoever, and went from 20/600 in both eyes to 20/20. It's totally worth it! There is no pain involved, and the worst part for me was mental - the thought of knowing what they were really doing was creepier than feeling (or not feeling) it happen. But by the time you start freaking out, it's over. Less than 1 minute per eye. Done! Get it - you won't regret it.

I agree completely!
I was afraid I was going to 'screw it up' by not lloking 'right' at the blue light!

I had mine done in December 1999 - it was still covered by our insurance at the time and it cost under $1000 for me and DH to both have it done. It is the best money I have EVER spent!! Congratulations!! Just wait until the first time you go to pack for a trip and you don't need to take contact "stuff" - it will really sink in.

Stephres you must do it! Very quick and easy! I used LasikPlus which I believe is nation wide and they were great. Very kind and understanding and it is so quick you don't have time to panic!! No pain just a little itchy the day after.
