Was the contemporary-Garden $209 or $219. I was at the Contemorary breifly eating at Chef Mickey's last Friday and thought it was a very nice place. The Poly is still a little to price, but I am sure I could get talked into the Contemporary especially being so so close to MK. I knew that my AP would pay off for my last trip, but to get AP rate for my May trip also is great.

That's why we are seeing higher AP rates this year. Late last year Mousesavers posted that the "seasons" were changing. Time periods that used to be "Value" are now "Regular."
I'm happy with any savings!

I talked to a great CM, Amelda. WL woodsview $165 May 7-14 w/tax $183.98. She also told me that those of you who were given the AP discount last night. That those CM's are no longer with them. They had to manipulte the system to get those codes out a day early. I was also quoted $209 garden view at CR.

The AP isn't a % off this year, rather a flat rate discount:
WDW Annual Passholders can ask for Code EWY and get special discounted rates at select Walt Disney World resorts for check-ins 4/17/05-7/4/05. The code gives you a flat discount off the rack rates: $25 off Value resorts, $40 off Moderate resorts and $100 off Deluxe and Home-Away-From-Home resorts. (From Mousesavers)
We (and by that I mean DISDiscountman--he wants credit  ) scored an AP (which is MINE BTW ;) ) of $395.78 p/n, Polynesian GVC which was exactly $100 off of the pre-tax rack ($455 p/n). Yeah, it's not as great as last year's DVISA code, not nearly as great as last year's AP (which on this room was 26% off a lower rack rate), but what the heck--it sure beats a kick in the pants! :cheer2: :cheer2:

On hold for over 1 hour and 15 minutes! I was getting scared about the system crash, that all the rates would be gone, that I was in a disney music purgatory, then Marina answered and I got AKL savannah view for $219/nt for 4 nights...total $977! Much better then $1427!

YC standard view $234+tax!!!! Yah I have my discount of $1000 for 2 rooms for 7 nights.
Now I just have to get my AP
I am trying to figure out who in our party will get the AP and have a chance to maybe go back within the year. Does the person the name on the reservation need to AP or can it be anyone in your party since all the names are written down. This AP stuff is new to me!!! :confused3
By the way I had the sweetest, nicest CM on the phone today...she was so nice and helpful. I am mad I forgot to write her name down since I would have written to Disney about how great she was. She laughed when I mentioned AP code and she said "I guess I know what I am doing all day today". She even helped me with figuring out how to get my AP and that I did not need it activated when I checked in as long as she wrote that on the reservation, but I needed to show them it during the stay that it was activated.
Thanks

Booked 1 bdrm BWV with AP discount for two nights in June: total, including tax, $781.00. Prior to that we are renting points from a DVC member for a 1bdrm at OKW.

I got through with NO WAIT! I got the AKL, standard-view room, for $139 per night for our eight-night May trip. Now I just have to purchase the annual pass, haha. Even with the extra charge for the annual pass, the cost for our stay and our tickets would be just $30 more than our original plan, which was to stay at POP for 3 nights and AKL for five nights. Now we don't have to switch resorts and will have an even more relaxing vacation! I love this board!!!!

We got an AP rate! The rates for our room view were not available, but we upgraded room view and were able to get an AP rate that way at least.
We now have CR - wing water view $219 per night for May 12-May 19 (there were no more AP rates for the standard view)
And we also have WL - courtyard view $200 per night for May 19-May 23 (there were no more AP rates for the woods view)
Overall, we saved $1072 off rack rates for the room views we have now. But our old price with the lower room view levels, compared to our new views and AP rates, we actually saved about $600 and we got room view upgrades. I am very very happy.

I had CBR standard booked with a postcard rate - $88 w/ tax, the AP rate couldn't touch that. I had WL Courtyard view for $174 w/ tax, was hoping to change it to a standard view since they didn't have any under the postcard rate when I booked - none under the AP rate either.
I'm happy about the postcard rates, I just hate paying for a view I don't want. :)

I was quoted $160-something for pool-view at the AKL. Even if this is before taxes, the total still wouldn't be $219. I would try to call back to see if this rate is correct. If standard-view is $139, pool-view should not be $50-$60 more. Unless you got a deluxe pool-view room?

Also, my sil wants to take a family trip next spring to my in-laws Vistana timeshare. I am going to talk to them further, if we do that, I will get passes for DH and DS as well and next year will cost airfare and car only!!

I can not get into my mail, but from the looks of things Sue Ellen from Dreams Unlimited saved us $1200.00 on our reservation for 2 rooms at WL Woods View June4th to 11th. We added a day to the stay checking out on the 12th so I am sure the savings is a bit more than the $1200. that she said she saved us.
I believe she saved us $244.00 on our reservation for 1 room WL Woods View June 1-4.
That total is over $1444.00. With the savings off the extra day that we added it will be a bit more. Could that be right? That is a lot of money!!!

She also told me that those of you who were given the AP discount last night. That those CM's are no longer with them. They had to manipulte the system to get those codes out a day early.
Some were doing a good job of making me feel guilty, so I just spent some time trying to get through to Disney. Finally got a person and asked to speak to a supervisor (which took another 20 minutes). I asked her flat out, if cm's would be fired for giving out the AP rates last night. She said I was the third person she talked to about that today, and as she told the others, not to worry. She said some machines were set to take it last night and if we got it, good for us. She said no repercussions on any phone operator, who were just doing their job. She was very surprised that a CM would have told that to a guest, and flat out said it was not true. She wished I had that CM's name, which I didn't. She looked up my ressie and said all was well, that my CM would be back at work tonight, that she hasn't done anything wrong. She said that they have been having a problem with their system today, so they realize some are frustrated, and they seem to be up and working fine now. She also said they need every CM they have, the phones are very busy today.
So she either gave me a bull story, or it's just a rumor. I felt comfortable when I got off the phone with her.

Finally got through after about an hour, then told she couldn't get the AP rates on the system. She took my number and said she'd call me back. I didn't think she'd have time as busy as she was, but she did call me back!!! :goodvibes In about a half hour too. Her stage name is Bianca Marie, very pretty name, nice girl. They didn't have any WL Standard views which is what I wanted so I got the POR rate of $109. for May 27-30. $121.50 w/tax. I'm going to keep trying for the Standard view at WL. My son really wants to stay there and I'd like to be able to do that. We'll see.

The cm, chrissy, heard me tell him, cross your fingers and wish for pixie dust...we'll we got it!! Polynesian garden view $254 pre tax april 24-may 2. Now we will cancel our res. at the swan. Its a little more for us, but the 3 ds will be so happy. and guess what the cm said they DIDN'T have my e mail on file. I even updated our profile on the website, huh? I'm on hold right now....
I called at 8:01 this morning, held 45 min to be told the computers were having problems and that i would get a call back from the CM i was dealing with (Missy) as soon as she could get my rate applied. I got anxious so i called again at 11:45....only to be told that on the dates for my trip April 19-25th AP rate is sold out at POFQ, that i would need to change my dates or change my resort. I'm holding for a manager now because disney is NOT going to pull this garbage on my honeymoon. If it wasnt sold out at 8:01 i should be honored the rate.
Disney has never made me angry before.

AP rates for Poly were not availiable for my dates at all :guilty: So we are doing a split stay - 4 nights at AKL savannah view w/AP rate and 5 nights at Poly w/no AP rate.
That's $620 less than staying at Polynesian the whole time w/no discount, so I guess that's good.
So now I'm staying at the AKL in less than 2 months and I know nothing about the resort!!! Better start some research! -Steph

ChrisNif - I hear your pain. I called at 7:30 am and was on hold for 1 hour and 2 mins. I was told AP rate was available for my Poly LVC but then was told it couldn't be applied b/c the computer was acting up. The CM took all my info and said that they would call back when the rate was applied. Fast forward 3 hours, call back (only on hold 25 min) and was told no AP rates left for my room type. What?!?!?!? I am sorry. This totally stinks!! We get punished b/c thier computer system goes down and then don't keep up their end of the bargain (ie. calling bac). For those of you with late April dates, there may not have been as many AP rooms. Still dealing with Spring Break. I read about someone who was told there was only one room at thier resort available. So... early bird may not have helped.
Another Sue Ellen from Dreams fan here.
She got me $139 for WL standard view. I am only staying on the week-end (renting points for BCV the rest of the time).
Not only did she save me lots of stress and phone calls, she even got us CRT for that Sunday.

Called this morning (800#) right at 7 a.m. eastern (6 my time). Was on hold an hour and 11 minutes. Got POR June 15-24 for AP rate of 109 plus tax. Originally had last two nights booked CR garden wing at AAA rate of $315 after tax. Nothing available those dates for CR wing this morning.
I agree, I was hoping AP rates would be as cheap as they have been in the past, but I'll take whatever I can get. Disney's bookings are way up, and they are in the business of making money, so I can understand their rationale.
And a big thank you to all the people that have called and posted!!!!! Everyone have a fantastic trip!

Chris, that stinks that their mistake might end up costing you the discount, but I hope you won't let it mess up your trip. You've definitely got the right idea - make sure your new wife gets the resort she has her heart set on, even if you have to pay rack for it.
And don't give up yet!! Keep calling every day, and see if they can break it into separate reservations, getting the discount for at least part of the nights if you can.
Best of luck to you, and don't let it ruin your honeymoon!!

Coronado does have suites, I've stayed in one. Ours was called a jr. suite, which was essentially 2 regular rooms, so maybe that's what they meant by 'double suite'. The rooms were set up differently though. There was a king size bed, table and chairs in the one room, and the connecting room (just had one door, not like regular connecting doors) had a desk, minibar, small table, chairs (comfy chairs, not the regular desk chairs), and sleeper sofa. Each of the rooms had a bathroom.

That's why we are seeing higher AP rates this year. Late last year Mousesavers posted that the "seasons" were changing. Time periods that used to be "Value" are now "Regular."
I'm happy with any savings!
I didn't read through all the screens, so I'm not sure if someone answered this. Mid April to July 4 has always been regular season. The month that changed this year was November, it is now regular instead of value.

You will love the cabins. One should be enough for your party unless you all need to use the bathroom at the same time. Its much more relaxed than being cramped in a regular room or even 2. And there is tons of stuff for the kids to do right there in the camp ground.
Have a great time!

Yes, a cabin. They say it sleeps six. Reserved two cabins just in case. It's my wife and I, two children and grandmother. But not sure one cabin will be 'cramped'. Sorry! I got confused! We would be renting two also later in the year. I think they are pretty reasonably priced and situated. Only stayed on the old trailors, however. Never the new ones!
Have a good trip!

My DU agent did what she could but not AP rooms at CSR for 4/20-4/25 and no std view rooms at AKL or WL at the AP rate either. There were some at POR and POFQ as of 9 am today but we'd rather stay as CSR using the AAA rate of $127/night than switch. I guess there's always hope for a code for the general public or for a Disney VISA code, but I'm content with my rate and the knowlege that I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD in a little over a month!

Rack For Akl Concierge Is 490 W/o Tax, Ap Rate For The Same Is 390 W/o Tax. The Rooms Are Deluxe Savannah View Whereas You're Comparing To Garden view Concierge. CHECK WHAT LAGOON VIEW CONCIERGE WOULD BE.
I know what the LV concierge runs at Polynesian--I had a postcard that would have given that view to us at a rate of $518 p/n--AP on that room was $535. The latter is $100 off the rack. I guess I was just shocked at the cost of a DSV at AKL since we've stayed there for a lot less than that $390 rate! Whew. . .things have gone up out that way in the last few years. The Polynesian GV rooms are larger than those at AKL and more our cup of tea I guess!

We were able to get 10 nights at YC for $2609. We need 4-5 more days but the very nice young woman helping us said her system would't let her book any more days out past end of codes? Our stay starts 7/2 and we'll just be waiting for the next set of dates to be released to finish booking our stay. I'm thrilled with what we have but part of me is mourning the other places we'll be missing. I feel so goofy.

Going June 17-23rd.
1st choices Contemporary and BC not available, so am taking 2 POP rooms at $74. each. ( going with grown son and daughter that would rather stand all night than share the same bed.)
I think that one of the reasons for the longer wait times is the new Magical Express service. I took my CM a while to get our flight times and numbers in the computer and explain it all. Still, it's worth it - much better than dealing with Mears.

:earsboy: I've always planned and booked our WDW trips myself, but I'm rethinking that after reading that some folks got AP rates through DU.
Three quick questions:
1) How far ahead did you book your trip with them?
2) If we book our Dec trip with DU now, will they try to snag the AP discounts when they are released, or do we have to book our trip after the rates are out?
3) Did anyone succeed in getting the Dolphin AP rate? If so, what was it?
Thanks! :earsboy:

For WL (woods view) $165.00 May 26-29 w/tax $183.98 Total saved $668.85. Called in @ 6:59am CM answered 7:05am pulled all the information up then for some reason his computer wouldn't apply the codes, he asked me to call back later I said I wouldn't be able to call back as I had to leave for work. (GULP) He said, "Well I have all the information I'll try to go back in later to secure the code for you. I'll call and leave you a message if I am able to get it, but I can't guarantee that you will receive the discount." I told him that if woods view or courtyard rooms were available to please go ahead and upgrade the standard room to either of the rooms, but that I would prefer the Woods View, So please try and work your MAGIC.
I went to work and worried all day, when I got home I had my new rate information on the answering machine. Went in and verified reservation on the Disney Website...Everything is there.

I haven't used DU, but would guess they're similar to most other Disney TA's. I know my TA was able to apply the AP code to my existing ressies, and I believe this is what DU does, too. So, you could book now, and then if codes should come out - more $$ in your pocket!
Since the Dolphin is not a Disney-owned hotel, I don't think they make you go through this AP frenzy. From the All Ears site, it looks like the rates might be available year-round - you'd probably just have to call and check. Here's the info: http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/sd_discounts.htm

1) We booked our trip (May 16-26) with DU a couple of weeks ago. Got an email from my agent early this morning saying that she had gotten us AP rate for our room.
2) No, you don't have to book after the rates are out. In fact, I think you should book BEFORE the rates are out.
3) Can't help you with this question. We stayed at the Dolphin in Dec 2003. They offered a really good discount at the time (not AP rate). I believe it was $99/night + tax for a standard room. We even got a free upgrade to the resort view. :teeth:

So she would keep trying through the morning and call me later on my cell phone when she could confirm the reservation. I didn't think it would happen!! I am trying to decide whether to call back and ask for a Woods view. I usually don't care about view but some of the descriptions of the standard view describe an ugly view of the service/delivery entrance. Whatever, I am sure it's not that bad! I am so happy just to be going to WL... This is the slippery slope of Disney... "Well if we are going to [blank] then we might as well do [blank]..."

I've had the standard view and it's not a pretty sight. We had the pleasure of sitting on our balconey and watching the trucks back in....beep...beep....beep. There was lots of activity and mostly in the morning when sitting on the balconey with your coffee. I usually don't care about my view, but the activity is a little hard to get use to.

I, myself, couldn't secure an AP rate on my room only ressies at the Poly (I call a couple of times a day) so I contacted DU. They got me "the AP rate" of $318 a night April 15-23 for GV. I know this is not as good as others I read at $254, but it has saved me almost $700 off of the rack rate. I'll take that.

I have also read that DU can find rooms/rates that individuals were not offered/able to get. When you called CRO, did you ask about GF or just about the Poly? It seems that DU seems to perhaps know the "right" questions to ask.
Any thoughts?

Just a few days ago, I was able to snag a 5 night AP rate at All-Star Music for June 20-25, for a quick bonus summer trip! With tax I think it was $83 a night. Other resorts were available, like CBR and one other moderate (forgot which), but only king beds. Pop and Sports was not available.
I should be jumping for joy, but my trip is completely based on when my work closes for two weeks for renovations. Right now it is suppose to be June, but the date keeps getting moved later. So I have a feeling I will be moving my dates to July or August. Least it will be nice and WARM!! :)

What exactly do i do when the AP rates come out? Is it one of those things where you have to be on the phone right away and know excatly what you want?? Or is there some time? What if you already have something booked and want to switch it over- what if it is with disney OR AAA how does a change in pricing work?
It sounds like it almost a race when the rates come out -is this true or not? Why?

The June, or part of June code will probably come out when the rest or April and May come out. (Last year it was March 9th)
Waiting for May! Arg! I want to finalize where we're going to stay! :badpc:

interesting to see last year's AP rates!
Here are some of the rates we've paid in the past several years. All of these rates are before tax. With the exception of the Dolphin and BWI stays, all were AP discounts.
June '05 - Split our stay - Pop $74/night - POR $109/night
June '04 - POR $74/night
June '03 - Split our stay - CBR $74/night - AKL $124/night
June '02 - POR - Around $84/night (not positive about this but close to this rate)
June '01 - Dolphin - $99/night - teacher rate
June '00 - CSR - $109/night
June '99 - BWI - $164/night - Summer discount (I think it was called "Hot Summer Nights" discount or something similar)
June '98 - YC - $169/night

jumping on the thread too...I've just started looking into AP rates as we are going this Christmas...Dec23-Jan3rd, I know the chances are slim but I'll keep looking.
Which deluxe would everyone recommend trying for 1st choice? 2nd choice? What type of view/room should I ask about? When the time does come if I call and just ask what is available for AP rates for my dates will the CM go through a list with me?
Thanks so much!!

Under the Annual Passholder discounts section on the DIS site, there is current information posted about the annual passholder room only discounts for 2/16/06-4/13/06 and 4/23/06-6/3/2006.
I used this information on Friday 2/24 and was able to save $100/night on a courtyard view room at the Wilderness Lodge 6/3-6/10/06. Since my stay started on the last day of the discount, I was still eligible for the discount for the entire stay. I have never been an annual passholder but I bought an annual pass on the spot and still saved about $500 on my trip total for June :)
