There are a few of us who want to have our first ever RnR ride at DIScon. Anyone want to set a time for a mini meet?

I would like to join in on this Vanessa. I've never done RnR coaster and it would be great to have others to go with, some nice calm people, to help keep me from bolting! LOL I think I'm ready.........................I think...................maybe.......

I am not a first timer, but I will encourage those who are RnR first-timers.

Hey, any excuse to ride it is good enough for me! :)

Of course if I have the time you can count me in on this one! I don't think that I could keep up with the thrill ride meet, but I'm a Roller Coaster junkie and one ride I can do :)

:( I so wish I could do it.....just once! But I know I will chicken out! My DD wants me to try all of these 'thrill rides' but I'm afraid I will have one bad experience and the rest of the trip will be ruined. :( I have a problem with motion-sickness. Our trip in '97 was plagued with motion sickness for me. :( Elevators, simulator rides, anything!

I think I have an ear infection...going to doctor tomorrow. Maybe if I get my ears fixed and the doctor assures me that they look okay, maybe....just mabye I'll try ToT.......but NO WAY, NO HOW am I getting on RnR!!! ;) ;)

:bounce: I really hope everyone who has the slightest notion to try this ride....will! :D :D :D

Tia - I went on RnR and ToT for the first time in April, and I don't like coasters! I took Bonine each day at the parks and felt great. IMHO, ToT is worse (I hate drops) than the speed of RnR. Yes - RnR goes upside down, but it's so fast you hardly feel it.

OMGosh! I remember that Nancy.....wasn't that with TvT??? Good for you!

I'll have to try Splash Mountain first. If I don't die from a heart attack on that one, then maybe, just maybe I'll try ToT. I think the speed of RnR would rip my skin off!

Did you have any side effects from the Bonine? Drowziness, dry mouth, etc. ? Maybe I should consider that. I said Maybe ;)

I remember reading about your RnR ride too Nancy! :)

I know everyone says that it goes upside down so fast you hardly notice it, but like Tia I'm interested in knowing how you feel afterwards!!!!! Without the Bonine, do you think you would have felt "shook up?"

I'm thinking this might be a good ride to try before I eat! lol

The take-off on RnR is the worst part, IMHO. It makes you want to scream bad words!

I had no side effects from Bonine, and you only take one chewable tablet per day. I felt great after RnR and voluntarily walked over to ToT with TVT and SSB - my tormentors!

Count me in, too. I was supposed to go with Beauty in September for the first time, but it's supposed to be closed for rehab :( .

Should we ride it first thing in the morning or ride it when the wait is 20-30 minutes? I think standing in line will help the first-timers get ready for the ride.

The take-off is the best part-what a rush! :D And, it really does go so fast, it's over before you know it. SO, I would love to join you all, too. Is there any way to incorporate this with the Thrill Ride meet run by Barry? Then, we'd all be together and wouldn't that be fun?? :D:bounce: :bounce: By the way, if you sit next to me, I scream through the whole ride!! :p :p

Barry..as a first-timer...I would rather go early...before I eat and I would rather not wait....too much of a chance to chicken out!

RnR is part of Barry's tour, isn't it?

Oh, but the problem with that is that some people don't want to do ALL of the Thrill Rides...just RnR....in which case they could just meet up with the group at RnR time.....or is that not going to be allowed? Sorry, I think I'll just keep out of this. ;)

Barb

Tia, that's what I was thinking, too. For those that want to try RnR or just ride it with a bunch of other DIS friends, maybe we could come up with an estimated time and all ride together!
Actuall, Barry, I think the faster they get in, the less time they have to change their minds!! ;)

All the thrill ride tour groups will converge at Disney-MGM Studios at the end of the day. I don't expect the groups to arrive until around 5 or 6 pm.

I suppose we could incorporate it, but I couldn't give an exact time for a meet.

Can we all say Cell Phones ? :D :D :D

Calling Verizon today to find out what their best deal is for this particular 'need'. :D

I was thinking about this and we can probably do it. There's two ways we can do it:

11-29 at around 7 pm, when the thrill ride tour groups converge onto MGM.

11-30 at 9 am. The ride is generally a walk-on first thing.

If anyone is interested, I will accomodate you.

Not a newbie to RnR, but I'd love to ride with you all!

We will be with the Thrill Ride groups on 11/29 if that's when you decide. We aren't planning to use park passes on 11/30 as we will be going to MVMCP that night and will be leaving 12/1, so we will be using that morning to pack so we won't have to worry about it later. :( DH really loves to get first timers on rides, so if someone needs encouragement, and wants to meet us at another time, just let us know. The best days for us would be the 26th or 28th.

Barb

Either time works for me. But, I sort of think first thing in the morning might be easier. Everyone could just walk right on together. That way there's no time to think or chicken out. :D

WebmasterBarry

I think we ought to make a rule. As soon as you enter the line, there's no chickening out! Those who chicken out will have to buy us lunch! :bounce:

Wouldn't first thing in the morning be best, as if we get there at park opening we won't have to worry about a long wait, or if everyone's Fast Pass is for the same time. How about Friday morning the 30th, since the Character Breakfast is scheduled for Thursday morning? We could all meet at MGM at park opening at the designated spot and then go on the ride. RnR isn't a first for me, and it's not my favorite ride, I tolerate it, but DH loves it. Vanessa, we'd love to accompany you and all the other RnR newbies on this ride. Although, I was planning on sleeping in a little this day since we're doing the PI Adventurer's Club mini-meet the night before, but what the heck, you only live once. Plenty of time for sleeping later!

Teresa, I think that's a great idea. I think first thing in the morning works well. This way anyone that wants to do this can meet at MGM. I think it will be fun to ride with a group of friends! We can all scream together!!
I like your rule, Barry! Once you're in line, that's it! You're going with the group! :D
LOL, Snowwark!! Too Funny!!:p :p
Hey, Dan and Tia, can I ride Splash with you, too? :)

The 30th in the morning works for me. I'm not a RnR newbie by any stretch (limo), but it's one of my favorites, along with TOT and Splash.

Since we're gotten some interest, I am going to e-mail the DIS Convention folks and ask. I didn't see a meet around 9 am on 11/30, so this may work.
