I ordered my Passporter from Overstock.com for only $14. I thought I was getting a great deal !? They told it was a paperback edition. I had never heard of a "paperback" edition, only the regular or deluxe. I ASSUMED it was just the regular version and they called it a paperback.
Well we all know what ASSUME means right ????!!! Read my new e-mail from the Passporter website and find out there is a new paperback edition out this year called the library edition. It is not spiral bound and has nowhere to write in it or anything like that.
I Hope :worship: :scared: that I am not getting the library edition !!!! Then I'll have to return it and wqit for my refund and either order it through passporter.com or buy it at the store. Please, has anyone gotten their shipment from Overstock ?? Was it the library edition?? I knew it was too cheap!!! :sad2:

I have an extra 2003 spiral bound one if you'd like me to send it. No charge - I don't need it.
It really is useful for tracking receipts and things.

I would imagine that you'll get the regular version - not the library version. I think it's probably just an overstock.com issue of books either being listed as paperback or hardback.
Anyway - this is in their recent newsletter, which is probably why you haven't received your copy yet.

If you're wondering about finding the newest PassPorter in your favorite bookstore, we beg a little more patience. To add insult to previous injury, the books arrived from Hong Kong with a little printing defect that we had to correct before shipping the books. Folks who pre-ordered from our store received a specially-printed Errata Sheet with their order (or should have -- if you didn't, you can download and print-out pages 74 and 98, which are included as part of the 2005 Updates described in the next paragraph). This wasn't an appropriate solution for books going to the bookstores, so we had special replacement pages printed and inserted into those books. This took a little bit of time to pull together, but now the corrected books are beginning to be shipped to the wholesalers, who will then send them to the bookstores - allow about another two weeks for the books to start arriving in the stores.
--------------------------------------------------------------
My deluxe copy was missing these pages, too. I understand it's been frustrating waiting for your copy, but I can also see their point of getting the problem resolved before shipping to the bookstores (both online and in-store).
Hope this helps!

Actually Overstock says my order was already shipped out to me. According to the tracking info, it should hit me tomorrow or the day after. I guess I'll be worried until it shows up. They have it listed twice with two different prices but I called na asked and they said they were the same thing. $14 sounds really low for a regular version of the Passporter.

Amazons regular Passporter is only 15.37, so you probably purchased the right one. Was it the one for 14.24?

Please let me know how this turns out for you! I've been debating buying a deluxe version on Overstock.

yes it was the $14.24 one. I called to ask why there were two prices and they told me they were the same book and gave me a $2 coupon to use on my next purchase. But they never combined the two books ? :confused3
I hope it works out!!

well, all the worry for nothing! I got the regular version. I don't think they have the deluxe version for 2005, or else I would have bought that one.

Yea - glad to hear you got what you ordered, and that it was correct.
I believe they do have the deluxe version - it doesn't have a picture associated with it yet, but it's the same rate as last year's deluxe ($25.20 - 36% off), so I may go that route. Thanks for posting back!

YAY!! They didn't have that option when I ordered my regular version. I just bought it for our next vacation! My DH is going to think I'm crazier than he already does!

Don't all DH's think that???
Mine gives me a hard time, but I don't see him complaining when we arrive.
Asked me "why were you up at 6 this a.m." - oh, you know, JUST SAVING US $$ WITH AP RATES!
All in a day's work. (Of course, I'm home from work today to meet the carpet cleaners, and have accomplished nothing but posting to these boards!)
