I know that WDW is having a big hop de do for Walt's 100th birthday. Are there any plan to have anything special at Disneyland to mark this occasion??

NO

I specifically asked a castmember while viewing Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.

Not only are they not doing anything, they took one of the offices and moved it to Florida!

They did say they will have some merchandise (what a surprise;) ).

There will be a tv special on ABC in September (I think). Doesn't anyone remember that Walt was born in December?

I am very disappointed by this, but I do have a trip planned to WDW in November, so I guess I can celebrate then.

Well bummer!!
I too will be at WDW towards the end of the celebration (Dec 2002).
And yes Walt was born in December not October (when they are starting the celebration)

I have noticed with most of their celebrations at WDW they always start on Oct 1 and end December 31 so everyone can enjoy their celebration.

Boo Hoo Disneyland can't join in on the celebration, but if you want to get involved with the celebration they (disney) want you (the guest) to go to WDW and join in on the fun and excitement over there.
