It's just been announced that Javine will be representing the UK in this years Eurovision Song Contest. Now I'm NEVER interested in this show, but I decided to watch it as I knew some of the acts. Javine was by far the best, but I did think that Katie Price would win due to the male vote.

So what did you think ?

 Couldn't believe how BAD they all were. Jordan in particular, her singing was just appalling.

Bring back Bucks Fizz and Johnny Logan!! LOL :teeth:

I thought they were all very poor - just forgettable really. I don't think we'll get 'nil point' this year, but it won't be far short! LOL

To be honest none of the entries were any good :(

After listening to all the songs - none of them stuck in my mind or made me want to hum the tunes etc - not a good sign for Eurovision.

Are these really the best that song writers can come up with in this country?

As for Katy Price - who on earth told here she could sing  She is a wooden. talentless bimbo and as false as her frontal airbags! This is one man who does not find her the least bit attractive. As my DD would say - she minging!

At least Javine could sing, although it's a shame she didn't have a better song. I did happen to notice she popped out of her costume at the end :)

I have to agree. I didn't think any of the hopefulls were very good. Javine can sing but the song is rubbish. We will never win with the people in charge of the picking our entry.

I am glad Javine won - she was the best out of them :)

I was amazed that the Jordan Publicity Machine for once did not get the better of everyone. I was sure she was going to win as she has been all over the place promoting her "tune" (ahem)

I'm not sure who I thought should have won but to be honest I was quite underwhelmed with all the entries....

Yes Tim, I am actually aware of that. No need to be so pedantic.

By the time Javine had got to the end of her song I was wishing someone would extinguish her fire rather than touch it - really boring song and like a million others. When Johnny Logan won he had a beautiful song and a beautiful voice so they should have gone for Tricolore IMHO!!!

When is the contest? When I was in London last June, I bought the Eurovision album on a whim, and I frequently listen to it on the bus going to work. There are a lot of "Eurodisco"-type songs on there that wake me up! (There are also several that put me sleep again. ) Disappointingly, I don't like the song from the UK.

I think we should have a contest like it here: the Amerivision Song Contest, with songs from North, Central and South America. It'd be great! (Maybe I should write to Simon Cowell and suggest it? :teeth: )

Eurovision is on 21st May and will be held in Kiev as Ukraine won last year. I love Eurovision, it's so bad it's good!!

Definitely think Javine was the best - only she and Tricolore had the voices to carry off live singing and I think her song could do well - recent history suggests half-naked girls dancing around to uptempo songs are popular!! Although I'm soooooo glad Jordan didn't win, I might have had to boycott Eurovision!!!
