So I'm pretty sure there are showers for campers to use at FW, am I right?

And, how much $$ do they cost?

Unlike many private campgrounds who charge for showers, showers at FW are free. :moped:

Great! I wasn't sure- but at some of the campgrounds we've stayed at a shower can cost $2-$5 per shower!

They are free and so clean! Nicest I've ever seen.

The shower facilities are very nice! We have our own shower in the camper but I prefer to use the comfort station so I can take a nice, long, HOT shower!!

Was this poetry intentional, or are you just a natural?

We are taking my Mom with us this trip and she has never been to Disney or been camping before. She keeps asking about the bathrooms and showers.

The ones at FW are the nicest I have seen. Though I do prefer my own toilet and shower just because it is easier, I have used the facilities. I just find it to be a pain in the butt bringing all your toiletries and clothes up the the bathroom.

I can see how this would be a pain. Do any of you have some tried and true methods and tips on this? I like the idea someone suggested of having a special "day pack" ready the night before to take to the shower.

The showers at FW are the cleanest, best maintained showers I have ever experainced in a campground.

For ease, My DS and I wear gym shorts, flip-flops, and a towel around my neck. My DW & DD also wear a t-shirt. We take our toiletries in a small bag designed for such. You can pick these up at just about any store similar to Target. If it is terribly cold, you can wear sweats too.

So, what do you all carry your stuff in to the showers? I'm thinking basic toiletries and shorts/shirts. I'll do my makeup and hair back at the camper.

Are these showers private showers? Can you blow dry your hair there if you are tent camping??

Tent campers have all the privileges at FW as someone in a great big RV!

You can take a shower, blow dry your hair, brush your teeth, sing a song, and dance around!

I got this really great bag at LL Bean that stores your soap, shampoo, etc., etc., etc. Since I hate getting dressed in a steamy room, I usually just bring a longer bathrobe and walk back to my RV to dress. Otherwise I have seen people use those plastic totes or canvas totes to carry their clothes in. My DH, DS, and DD just carry their clothes and a toiletry bag.

I use a book bag type day pack to carry my stuff to the shower. The showers are very well ventilated and air conditioned and the comfort station interior does not feel "steamy". My tent is too short to stand up in, so I even change clothes in the morning in one of the shower stalls.

Each shower stall has a hard locking stall door with a front portion with a bench, and multiple hooks. Then behind a curtain is the actual shower portion.

I take my shower at night, so don't use a blow dryer, but (in the women's at least), they have a large mirror, with a shelf and several plugs for curling irons, blow dryers, etc. This area is next to the sinks, so that keeps the sinks free for those brushing teeth, etc.

I bought a really sturdy plastic shower basket at the dollar store. I bought a blue one for the guys and a orange one for the girls. We just picked it up and carried it to the shower! What is nice is that everyone can get ready at the same time instead of waiting for the bathroom!

I always collect any extra soap and shampoos that are not used during any hotel trips and take them camping. DH and DS stil prefer bar soap to liquid soap. I give them each a small soap and shampoo for their shower and tell them to throw it away when they finish their shower. It's less for them to remember to bring back.

We grab a few ice bags from the ice dispenser as soon as we arrive at the campsite. Then the kids take their clean clothes and bathroom supplies to the shower in the ice bag. When they come back to the trailer they have put their dirty clothes in the ice bag and tied it shut. This keeps the dirty clothes smell under control in the hamper. Also helps them keep their clean clothes from falling on the ground in the shower. We have done this for years and it even makes bringing in the wet dirties easier when we return home.
