What are the best sandals for someone with a very high arch?
I would prefer to wear sandals in the parks over sneakers, but I need something really comfy. ::yes::

Hello!
I really like Keens. I am not sure about your arches, but I would give them a try if you have a store nearby that carries them. There are lots of reviews (if you are interested) on www.zappos.com. Try www.keenfootwear.com for stores near you. :flower:

I have the Land's End version of Nike Straprunners and love them. Dh had the Nike's and loves his. However, I've been looking around for another pair to wear instead of my sneakers. I've seen the Mephisto's. Expensive but if they're good, I wouldn't mind paying for them. Anyone tried them??

I wear alot of my Aerosole sandals....their "Tred" series are great. I have even wore my boots from them all over the parks without sore feet.

I see Duran Duran on 3/18 and then it's 6 days til Disney...what a marvelous March. If I can manage to seduce John Taylor and make him fall madly in love with me (inspite of his model wife) I might miss the Disney trip...Look out Mickey here I come! :rotfl2: I'll let you know how Duran Duran is...I can't wait to be like a 13 yr old girl again!

I also love Keen sandle hybrids, they are very comfortable but not the highest arch support. But I highly recommend Chaco's hands down the best sport sandal on the market! (blow teva out of the water) they have a great arch support so no problems there. But either would be great. Birk's are also great if you aren't looking for something not leather.

I highly recommend Merrell sandals. I have around 5 pairs of them (they make different styles, both thong and regular). They are sooo comfortable. I usually get them at shoebuy.com or at Nordstroms.

Yes, DH and I wear our Mephisto sandals when we go to Disneyland. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but oh, soooooo worth it! Our feet don't feel tired after a full day of walking and standing. You will not be disappointed.
Here is the style I have:
Mephistos "Elka" Sandals (www.zappos.com/n/p/p/113595.html)
My DH wears a style similar to this:
Mephistos "Shark" Sandals (www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/560246/c/5778.html)

I see where somebody was talking about living in their birks...any problem with the slip on version on rides?

I live in my Birks. I wear mine at the parks and have no problems keeping them on during the rides. I wear the two strap kind, without the back strap.

I like the columbia men's challenger (they go for a whopping 29.99 at famous footwear) my husband wears some nike ones. The men's fit great, I have worn them four years, the only blister I got was after a marathon year of 7 parks in 7 days. You may say "four years, one pair of shoes?" but 1) I live in Maine so sandle season is about 4 months out of the year. 2) these are really well made shoes. Last summer the velcro let go and I have to buy new ones. Big surprise, Famous footwear still has the same style. I believe I paid about $50 for then new, now they sell for $29.99. No offense to ANY posters but I checked out one poster's recommendation and I would NEVER pay $293 for a pair of shoes. no matter how comfortable they are. No flamming necessary, just my frugle opinion.

You're referring to my post, I'm sure. No offense taken and no flaming will be made in return. Someone asked about Mephistos and a response was given, and from there, those who read the post can decide for themselves whether it's worth it to them.
And BTW, the sandals in question are only $263, LOL!

I have spent a lot of money on shoes. I feel a good pair is worth paying for in the long run.
