DH and I are walking to All Star Movies.

Let me explain, it is 2160 kms from my front door to All Star Movies. We are going to walk everyday until we get 2160. I have measured it out per day and can make it.

Anybody want to join me. Lets walk to Disney.

Hey, hockeychic, where are y'all from? Since you've done the calculations, maybe I could start walking to Disney, too. And then when I get there....I could book me a vacation! :goodvibes

Hey there,

I am just north of Newmarket in Ontario. Bascially I went to mapquest and put in my address as well as that of the resort I wanted unfortunatley they gave it to me in miles so I just converted it to kms using x 1.6.

The ladies of a TOPS group near by are walking to Alaska, that is where I got the idea.

I am off, maybe I can pick up people along the way.....I will let you know when I hit Newmarket.

That is such a cool idea! I'm going to look it up today and see how far it is....probably long way, lol!

Great idea Hockeychic!

What a nifty idea!!

I especially like Debbie's idea - when you've logged all those km, you get to book a real trip!! I know that would motivate me to never skip a day!! :cloud9:

Think I'll have a chat with my DH about this idea!

Hey, Hockeychic, what a great idea!
I made charts up in January called "walking to disney" (which has been modified to "walking/biking to disney") and have been keeping track of how many miles I do on the TM and bike. It is almost 1000 miles for me, and I think I am not even at 100 yet, but hope to get there before I actually get there in January for the 1/2. Maybe you and I could meet up when you get to Delaware -- after all, if you are coming down I-95, you'll be going right by my house, practically. :)

Hey everyone.....well I am 7.2 kms closer to disney. I will make up alot of group today and tomorrow. Plus I will add in my morning 3 mile WATP tape.....I will be in Disney in no time.

welovedis and ham53: How far is Disney for you??

Keenercam: Great job that is amazing, I have a ways to go to catch up to you, I will be traveling down the boarder through Buffalo taking the 79/77/95 route....I can feel it getting warmer already....lol

Everyone have a great day!!

I just looked it up this morning--from my home in Rochester, NY to BWV is:
1265.39 miles-wow!

I'm going to start this on Monday but not sure if I just just add walk/run miles or bike & elliptical too.

Thanks Hockeychic for mentioning this, it is the boost I needed!

we're 1,249.4 miles from the Poly he in MA. however, i think we might have started this a little late b/c it works out that we'd hafta walk about 8 miles every day to get there in time.
at least if we make it to south of the border i'll be happy :earboy2:

Debbie
03-05-2005, 12:30 PM
All righty, I'm basically in London. Sorry, kc, I'm going to take I-75. It will be 1292 miles or 2067.2 km. It starts with 203 km just to get to the border. I just printed off my directions. I shall count walking, WATP and Curves. I usually count my half hour workout at Curves as the equivalent of 2 miles of walking. Is that okay? So, I am out the door, with 4 miles down. Haven't hit the ramp at the 401 yet, but I can see it! :rotfl: What we need is a clippie! SUNDIE!!!.

Count me in for the walk to disney.

From pennellville ny to ssr is 1254.44 miles. I will start today.

(edit) Like Cam, i will also record walk/bike miles plus any equipment (ie arctrainer, elliptical, ect) that keeps track of miles completed.

Hey Tiger Lilly 03....

I am 7.2 kms closer. I didn't get a walk in yesterday my daughters hockey team played 2 games and 1 of our players got taken to the hospital so no time for the walk but does stress count for milage???......LOL

How is everyone else doing????

I am also going to count my WATP Debbie so I would think it would all count.

OK here we go, I am doing 2 walks today so I hope to get to the highway so that is 18.2 KM for me so 11 kms today in 2 walks......ouch my legs are hurting already.....lol

Have a great day.

Hockeychic

Well just back from walk number 1 for the day....just did 5.7 kms which with the weather we are getting today was quite tricky. I only fell once and had a few close calls.

Will check in later. :cheer2: :cheer2:

That is a great idea, I'm going to have to get mine figured up and keep track of it. How are you all getting your information regarding the distance to different places at WDW? I would want to be walking to VWL.

03-06-2005, 11:38 AM
Hi,

I just got the address from the DIS site for the resort we are staying at....can't remember which post I found it in, just try a search for resort addresses. Then went to Mapquest.com. I have alot way to go but I will get there. :cheer2:

Sounds like a challenge and motivation for me to get started walking. We were planning to go to WDW 11/21/05, but since we're not I'll make it a virtual visit. I have to walk 1016 miles to reach Magic Kingdom.

welovedis
03-07-2005, 07:43 AM
Tammy-VWL is:
801 Timberline Drive
Lake Buena Vista FL 32830-1000

Then just go to a map site (like mapquest www.mapquest.com) and enter your home address under "driving directions" and then the resort address. it will give you the directions and also a total of miles for the trip.

GL!

I just did weights today but will start adding up my mileage tomorrow!

03-07-2005, 11:04 PM
I am going to have to walk to WD WORLD and back a couple of times to keep up with ya all..it is 62 miles from my house to The Contemporay....but I will go there and back, and there again lol..this is gonna be fun :cool1: ...

What a cool idea. I will have to log mine too.

I will be doing WATP 3 mile dvd but what about Tae Bo can I count that?? I will also be taking walks outside aprox 2-3 miles each. :)

I gotta go look up the mileage now. :)

Adding mileage..

Total Est. Distance: 2149.14 miles
:earseek: :cool1:

At my pace I was thinking of doing it would take over 2 years. :earseek: We are planning to go to WDW around May 2006 but might be moving it back depends on how quickly we can save money for it. I guess I'll have to bump it up a bit to make it before my trip. Who know if I'll finish before we go but I can sure try.

Hey everyone how are you doing?????

Hope you have a great day!!!!!

I ticked away another 2 miles today! WTG Hockey chic! I am also down a pound---wanted to check my weight 2 days in a row before I reported this, but not I am officially in Onederland (199.6 lbs!). Thanks again for posting this.

I've but my mileage in my sig line to keep track of it, but I like your idea, Tammy, about a spreadsheet too ! :)

03-09-2005, 12:45 PM
I started a spreadsheet to track the miles. Last night I only got in one mile on the treadmill (it's manual and slighly inclined) before my lower back started to ache. Monday the weather was beautiful so DD and I went outside for a 1.5 mile walk. I topped that off with .5 mile on the treadmill. I plan to get back on tonight before and/or after American Dreams. I doubt I will be able to go the two miles, but I will try.

Hockeychic
03-09-2005, 01:36 PM
hey I really like the idea of adding my milage in my signature. When I get home tonight I am going to add that..

Wahooo WTG everyone.

I don't have any trips to WDW planned this year, however I have 4 more planned to Disneyland....so I'm walking to Disneyland! YIKES...it is almost 400 miles farther from my house to go west. It's 1929.74 miles and I kicked out 7 miles tonight so I'm down to 1922.74.

I might make it there by my December trip. At 7 miles a day, I will take me 276 days to get to Anaheim. I bet my feet will be sore when I get there!

Great Idea to keep exercise interesting!

What a cool idea! I wonder if there's anyway to keep track of landmarks along the way?

I might see how far it is for me to walk to Nova Scotia. VWL is only 114 miles from my house...doesn't seem quite far enough. Then maybe I could have my dream vacation at Trout Point Lodge!

welovedis
03-11-2005, 08:10 AM
I didn't add (or take away, lol) any more miles since today is my rest day.

Mel-I would do that if it is a place you'd like to visit. For me WDW is so far away and a place I don't visit often (enough!) so that is incentive for me. If Trout Point Lodge is a place you would love to visit then start keeping track! TPL is really a beautiful place!

03-11-2005, 10:59 AM
Wow! This is such a great idea! I'm not sure if we have enough time to "walk our way to WDW" before our trip, but we may just give it a try!

It is 1042 miles from my doorstep to BCV. This means that we would have to walk almost 4 miles per day to get there on time. With the weather being the way it is here in Ohio, that may not be possible. What I may do is this:

Example: I will walk for 60 minutes straight and see how far I get. For the sake of example, let's say I walk 3 miles in 60 minutes. Okay. Every time I do another workout (FIRM, TaeBo, Kathy Smith e.t.c.), I will convert those minutes to miles. So according to my example, if I do a 60 minute FIRM tape, then I have "walked" 3 miles. If I do a 30 minute FIRM tape, I would only have "walked" 1.5 miles. Does this make sense?

Also, I went to Expedia.com and went under the "Map" section to get directions to BCV. The great thing about Expedia is that they give you the mileage and tell you when you enter another state! For example, After I walk 234.9 miles, I will be in West Virginia. (Going Route 77) Another 101.2 miles and I will be in Virginia and so on. This helps break down the big goal of walking 1042 miles into smaller goals! Plus, I get to see more of the country this way!;)

After I talk to DH (He'll probably want to join me!) and he says yes, my DDs and I will make a poster to track everyone's progress. Maybe once we reach a new state, we'll go buy Disney Dollars to use during our trip in December.

This is such a great idea! Thanks Hockeychic!!! :cool1:

Hey everyone!!!!

How is it going???? I am glad so many have jumped aboard....to bad we don't have a clippie.....lol

I have incorporated my WATP tape as the weather still is icky here also so the 3 mile tape gets me 4.8 kms each morning.....yaaaaaa

I guess I need to update my milage....lol

You all have a great day!!!!

I was busy with errands last night and didn't have time to walk. I only put in the 1/4 mile walk to the restaurant upstairs to fill my mug with water. Hopefully tonight, and this weekend, I can add many miles to the total.

FWIW - I am converting my time to miles, as my treadmill seems to think it takes 5 minutes to walk 1/10 mile. I can walk 1/2 mile in 10 minutes (2.5 minutes less) based on the outdoor walk DD and I took on Monday. I can walk a mile 5 minutes faster than my treadmill says. So for every 20 minutes I walk I'm considering I've walked a mile...until I'm so fit that I can walk the mile faster. :bounce:

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been checking in this weekend.....way to much to do....yikes.....however....check out my signature......34.45 KMS closer to disney.....wahooo..

How are you all doing???? I also have found that I can walk 5.7 KMS in a hour so if I do a 1 hour exercise tape that should count for 5.7 KMS as well. I think this is a great idea.....once the weather gets nicers all my walks will be outdoors. I must prefer working out outside.....just not in Canada in the winter.....lol

You all have a great day!!!

Great Work! Congrats on the additional kms.

I was feeling blah most of Saturday. I thought DD and I would go outside for a walk, but she had a friend sleep-over so I never made it. I'm thinking I will get out today, before the Nascar race come on. Treadmill is here, but being manual it requires more effort than an actual walk and getting somewhere.

I put in a mile, walking the dog. He's usually such a pain to walk, but I watched a dog-trainer on PBS yesterday and put some of his advice to work. He was much more pleasant today. I might try to take him again later this afternoon.

Not a good week for exercising or walking, but I am sitting at 19.2 km from home. Someone come along and boot me, please. I'm on break this week, Curves is further than that away (so the temptation not to go, could be great), but I should be out walking. Anyone heard the weather for southwestern Ontario? Fingers crossed that it will at least NOT be windy! Good luck, everyone.

Love this.

At 1330 miles, it will take me close to two years to get there at 2 miles a day. What a motivator to get me to increase my usual walk!

I'm at 0/1330, but I'll get to Timberline Drive yet!

Go for it zoesmama03!

I timed the walk I took tonight at 30 minutes. That makes it 1.75 miles, meaning my mileage for yesterday was underestimated. I actually walked 3.5 miles on Sunday and added another 2.75 today.

03-15-2005, 07:14 AM
Hey everyone.
Added 2 kms last night. I was pretty tired so it was just a quick walk. I hope to make up some today. Short walk at lunch then DH and I will go for a longer one tonight.

Congrats everyone on keeping it up. I can't believe we have gotten to 4 pages.....wahooo.

Have a great day

:wave2: Good morning, WTD (Walkin' to Disney) people! I managed a ½ hour walk yesterday and that puts me at 22.4 km. HEY! That's like my ½marathon, including the walk to and from my corral. lol It's taken me a whole lot longer than the 3 hours 41 minutes to do that, this time, though.

Now, I could have headed towards work, and I'd be there by now, but, since I'm headed south on the 401, I've just waved to the people on 402, heading towards Sarnia/Port Huron.

Hockeychic, you are moving much faster than me, so you'll probably catch up to me before you know it.

Oh, look at the pond! It's still pretty much frozen. You know, usually the Arctic Tundra Swans are coming home by now. I guess they don't like all the snow that we still have!

Have a good day, ladies. Keep walking! :cheer2:

WTG Debbie!!!!

However, I did not walk yesterday... :confused3

However, I am joining a gym today and will get a 45 weight training in each week day since I am joining the one near my work.

How is everyone else doing????

Does anyone know if there is a way to get a clippie??? Who designs or approves these things????

Well gotta hit the showers.....have a great day everyone.

Ok...so Trout Point Lodge is 1886 miles from my house. MapQuest even took into account the ferry ride from Maine to Nova Scotia. At 15 miles per week, it will take me about 2.5 years to get there! But...that's just right for our 10th anniversary!

I am 7/1886 as of today.

Karen...have you been to TPL? It looks wonderful...reminds me a bit of VWL!

Well I think it's official, I've got the longest distance to walk of all the WTD peeps so far! I've got to go..... 4271miles!!!! :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: That is one long trip! I've divided it up into sections:

60 miles to Liverpool (edge of the UK)
195 miles to Dublin (near coast of Ireland)
315 miles to Shannon (far coast of Ireland)
2263 miles to the halfway point across the Atlantic Ocean!
4211 miles to Daytona Beach
4271 miles to our villa in Kissimme!

Your welcome!!!!!

Having made the clippie I feel it is my duty to join the challenge :goodvibes I'm going to run to Disney :cool1:

I went on mapquest and found the exact mileage from my front door to the Poly :cloud9:

I will be running 1325.88 miles. And when I get there, I really, really hope I can book a real trip. I had APs last year and managed 3 trips with the passes, but now I'm broke and don't see another trip happening for a loooong time.

I currently run about 15-20 miles per week. So I should arrive at the Poly around 78 weeks from now :earseek: That's a year and a half. Oh my.

Maybe I will try to stash away $ for each mile so when I finally reach my goal I might have the money for the real trip.

This is exciting :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

What a fantastic idea! :cheer2: More incentive to walk and save money. :cool1:
If I could pay myself $3 for every mile I walk on this challenge, I could afford our trip when I complete the miles. Even at $2 per mile I would make a healthy contribution to the budget that hovers around $2700+, including Universal and Sea World parks.

plutosmyfav
03-17-2005, 01:01 PM
That's what I'm thinking! I think if I could stash away $2 per mile, then I'd have $2651.76 (to be exact :rotfl: ) which would cover the trip. I might not be able to stay at the Poly, but that's the aim for now!!!!!!

I'm also going to add a new section to my exercise worksheets for "Disney Miles", that way I'll be able to keep track of how much I owe myself.

Unfortunatley I can't get it on my signature....help....what am I doing wrong. I clicked on it then copied. and tried to paste but the paste thing won't let me click onit......yikesss......help please

You need to remove the extra space between the [ and the img on both ends. Make sure there is no extra spaces.

You can copy this:

{img]http::/www.livinglively.com/clipart/walkingtodisney.jpg[/img}

and then replace the first { with [ and replace the } with ]

That should do the trick!

Woohoo! I've started Walking to Disney. I've got 1432 miles to go! I'm a slow walker and am just getting back in the swing of things so I might only do one mile a day at first. Slowly but surely I'll get there! I might see a few of my fellow canadians walking back home while I'm still walking down! I had started walking to Cozumel (DCL destination) but I think I can stay motivated walking to Disney. We are doing "step" challenges at work and I walk 30-35 miles per week total. I have not been keeping track but I think 15 to 17 miles are actual exercise the rest is day to day activity.

Hiya Miffy2003

I timed a walk to the convenience store, knowing it was exactly 1/2 mile. It took me 10 minutes, so I assume every 20 minutes = 1 mile.

I had a lousy week - it rained most of it and I was busy many evenings and lunch breaks so I didn't walk. I have the treadmill but no desire to get on it. I made up some miles today - I walked the dog three miles (one hour) and I ache a little.

All right, I'm confused. Are you guys seriously WALKING to WDW? I know I couldn't do it!
No, we are not really walking to WDW. What we do is first pick a hotel in WDW (it really can be anywhere that you would like to go, you might pick AKL or Los Angeles, California as long as it motivates you). Then, figure out how many miles it takes to walk from your house to your destination. I am "walking" to the Contemporary and it is 1,000.52 miles from my house to the Contemporary. That is your goal. You keep track of how many miles you walk (on a treadmill or around your neighborhood or wherever). When you reach your goal, you celebrate. A lot of people plan an actual trip to their destination. I am going to put away a dollar per mile I walk and use that towards a trip to Disney, someday. Good luck with you walking everyone!!!

:wave2: My two girls had vocal lessons today, and, since it was a holiday from school-YEAH, BABY!-I had an hour to kill (usually they go themselves after school, I putter at mine and pick them up at the assigned time). Did it by walking 2.875 miles in 50 minutes. Not back to the 15 minute miles of December, but, respectable nonetheless. I will update my number after I play Dance, Dance, Revolution extreme. There is even a calculator on that game to indicate my mileage. :teeth:

Today's weather was better than it's been in a week. I was able to buy my new pedometer before lunch break and track my steps all day long. By the end of lunch, including two trips around the perimeter of the building I had logged more than a mile.

I came home, the sun finally shining, and took the dog for our usual walk. I calibrated the pedometer to 24" strides from the defaulted 30" and learned that our walk is almost an exact mile, not the 1.5 I guessed based on time.

Today's total was about 2.3 miles. I'm hoping to log at least 35 miles this week and plan to break each day in to 3 1-mile segments.

A quick question....are you counting all the miles you walk in your regular walking (ie...converting pedometer steps), so this could include walking through the house, around at the office, on errands, etc....or are you only counting miles that you've specifically exercised? Thanks!

lajones81
03-29-2005, 11:40 PM
I can't speak for anyone else, but I am counting all of my steps. They (I guess the exercise guru people) recommend 10,000 steps a day for optimal health. So, in turn, I view this as all steps I take each day. I posted a topic a few days ago about this and someone confirmed that 2,000 steps = 1 mile. If you have any more questions, just ask! It's so much more fun to exercise when it's with a group, as well as pretending to go to a fun location! :)

I am only counting my running miles. I'm doing this so that I can actually afford to save the money to go for the real trip at the end. Plus, I really want to be able to say I ran to Disney. Because of this, I have found it hard to get on the elliptical trainer, stairmaster, etc., because they don't count towards Disney miles! Its tought to cross train when you don't get the miles!!!!!

I have MS Streets and Trips on my home computer and have the map drawn up with the "driving" directions from home to Magic Kingdom. I'm using the Search for Nearby Places feature (highlights a specific radius) to mark the distance I've walked.

oooh you gotta try this!

Go to maps.google.com and put in your destination address. Click the satellite link on the righthand side and see your Disney destination on a satellite image!!!! I'm heading for the Poly. You can then pan over the image and move around.

Can you find the Castle? Spaceship Earth? Oh this is just too much fun!!!!

I saw Intenseblue's clipart on another thread and thought this was a GREAT idea. I lost 40 pounds at the end of last summer, took a trip to WDW and got a little off track. I need to get back in the swing of things.

I calculated my mileage to Pop Century, 929.12
I can do it!
I'm thinking about saving $1 each time I do a mile too. That's almost enough for a trip to Pop with discount codes :)

How do I get the clipart and the cute little map that Intenseblue has? I'm so excited!

This sounds like a fun way to get more exercise.

It's 1140.7 miles to POP from here via my parents house. That's the way I'll be going when I actually get to go. I want to "walk" there before I actually go, so I'll be wearing a pedometer and counting all miles from it. 4.2 miles today!!

SRUAlmn

Do you all wear pedometers just during your daily activity and during work, or are you just calculating actual designated 'exercise' time?

And thanks Intenseblue for the clippie :)

Before I had a pedometer I timed a walk of a known distance - .5 miles = 10 minutes. So, for every 20 minutes I walked I counted 1 mile.

Walking to Disney sounds like a great idea to me too. Count me in. But, it's 450 miles and I have only 7 months to get there. I'll be at WDW on October 27th and the Disney Wonder :boat: on October 30th. I'll be walking and taking Karate. I can walk a leisurely mile in 20 minutes so 20 minutes of Karate is easily a mile. Since each class is about 2 hours in length I'm figuring 6 miles per class.

:cool1: I broke the 50 mile barrier!

How are the rest of you doing?

Are you noticing any results from walking? I'm not. If anything I feel even wider around the middle. :confused3 I've cut back on the iced tea and drink more water, but so far I haven't lost a pound or an inch. :( I haven't let that discourage me, realizing that I won't lose the weight in a short amount of time with the amount of walking I've done.

To supplement, I ordered a fitness video from Amazon last week..."10 Minute Solution - Target Tone for Beginners". I'm waiting for it to arrive - I'm actually anxious to give it a try.

I missed the article, but I heard a blurb on the local news the other evening that a local group was Walking to Disney for a fund raiser. I tried searching online, but can't find any info.

Sorry I went AWOL a few weeks ago. I did go to Disney and had a blast, but I was soon sucked back into reality...

The aide that worked in my classroom passed away last week from brain cancer. It really reminded me that I am in control of my own health (i.e. I can exercise, eat right, etc.)

I'm not sure if I will be doing the walking to Disney challenge as frequently. It's not say that I'm giving up on weight loss, but I've got to get my spirits up first before I can get back to the gym. :(

Haven't updated in a few days, so I will now...
5/1 - 1.31 miles
5/2 - 5.3 miles
5/3 - 2.64 miles
5/4 - 4.95 miles
5/5 - 6.88 miles (YAY! I broke the 6 mile mark!)

I'm now over 40 miles!! I'm not sure howmany more I have until I'm out of my state...I think around 100. I checked Expedia and for some reason, it doesn't tell me when I'm entering Tennessee. It tells me when I'm entering Georgia...to which I responded "didn't you forget a state??" So I looked up Nashville and saw I'm about 170 miles from Nashville...so I have over 100 to go for that.

Anyway, that's my update.

COUNT ME IN!!! I've got 644 miles to get to Disney from where I'm from...our family is hoping to travel there in mid-September...that means I need to average 35 miles a week. OUCH! Wait let me recalculate...let's shoot for a vacation the last week of September and that should buy me 32 miles a week...I can do it...I need to do atleast 5 miles 6 days a week...eek...can I add in cycling??? Hmmm....I might have to rethink this...but I'll shoot for anything at this point...

:cheer2: Welcome newbies!

I've added 15.6 miles this week, putting me at Pikesville Maryland, about 96 miles from home. I extended my afternoon route by 1/2 mile on Thursday and Friday. I didn't go out today because I took DD shopping and the stopping and standing aggravates my knee and back - didn't wasnt to take chances of further injury by walking the dog.

Is anyone walking and biking. I use an exercise bike because of a problem with bone spurs. I just started walking a couple of weeks ago but I still bike because there is less damage to my foot.

Since Feb I have put 295.3 mile on my bike and about 3 miles on foot.

I'm biking as well  It's much easier because of where I live and if there is bad weather I want to still be able to do all the miles that I am accustomed to. I walk periodically, but it's mostly biking :)

Do you mind if I come along? I'll be starting tomorrow although I haven't quite worked out how long it will take me. I am 1,188.15 miles from the lobby of the Beach Club and I think it's worth the walk!
Thanks for a great idea!

I using Microsoft Streets and Trips on my computer to chart my progress. I draw a window around the area, right click/copy, paste to Arcsoft's PhotoImpression, save as jpeg and upload to space on comcast.net.

Hey everyone...just to update on my progress, I'm JUST under 70 miles done. I'm getting in anywhere between 5-7 miles a day, so it's adding up. I'm really enjoying this!! :)

I broke the 100 mile mark today :cheer2: For some reason I was super motivated today and did 9 miles. Funny, I started exactly 1 month ago today, so I must be progressing at about 100 miles a month. At this rate I'll be to WDW in January. Darn, I was hoping to make it for Christmas ;) I guess I'll have to step it up a notch! This is so motivating for me because I can't wait to get home and update my signature each day- yes, I'm a dork :Pinkbounc

Wow! Karen that's amazing progress. I've only been at it for two days. It was raining last night, so I did 3.3 km (or about 2 miles) on the NordicTrak. Tonight I walked 1.62 miles. So, I still have 1184.53 to go, but I'll get there.

I have recently realized that I have undercalculated some of my distances. So I said to myself, not to worry just include it from now on. Nope! I am going back to recalculate so I can get in every inch that I know how to get. I need to add in my treks while at the World too. There were many.

It is fun to see everyone making progress. I hope to be showing and telling mine soon.

Wow. What a cool idea. This might help me train the 60 miles I will be walking for the 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk. I will be walking 20 miles a day for 3 days straight in October of this year. So I am going to pretend I am walking to Disney for my Training. :cool1:

My boss is doing the 3 day in Philadelphia and I considered it. I don't think I can handle 20 miles a day just yet.

I'm over the 100 miles mark, 107.62 as of 5/13. After Tuesday I didn't do much of anything in terms of walking or exercising. It's been a little hectic for one reason or another. I'll be in Washington DC tomorrow. I haven't decided if I want to clip on the pedometer and track the miles.

This is great! I've been trying to think of a way to get my husband to agree to another trip . . . and here it is! I just put the my address and the address of Wilderness Lodge into MapQuest - 1314 miles from my house in Kitchener, Ontario to Wilderness Lodge. I can do this! The only times I've been committed to my treadmill is when I have an upcoming vacation.
Count me in!

Well I think I have about 4210 miles to do. No way I can manage that before this August but maybe by next August.

I have done about 40 miles this week at the gym on various machines so that's a start. Only 4170 miles to go!

Since I started keeping track last week I have walked 25 miles and it is only 90 miles to WDW for me.

I walked 9 miles yesterday morning for my 3-day training.
