Here's the challenge... Who is who? In this photo you'll find DVC-Landbaron, Captain Crook & gcurling. Using your best powers of deduction, can you guess who is who?

I think gcurling's in the middle. Make my guess DVC-Landbaron, gcurling, CaptainCrook.

(But my illusions about DVC & Crook looking like Errol Flynn & Douglas Fairbanks, Jr are just crushed...) ;)

Knowing that DVC has multiple children and man in the middle looks like someone with a large family. I go: captain/dvc/gcurling.

Hmmm... seems my intent to deceive (by slightly altering the photo) only fooled one person so far. Disduck offered some interesting logic. I'll wait for a few more responses (particularly YoHo) before I reveal our true identities.

Hey, take a look at gcurling's site and you will find that the gent on the left side of the pic is gcurling. So that leaves only DVC and Capt Crook.

I'm puttin' the Capt in the middle, so DVC is on the right

That makes it gcurling, Capt, DVC.

I know I'm 1 for three for sure.

Tiggerstheman used a little slueth work and found my page. Indeed, I am the guy on the left. I'm fairly sure thedscoop knew of my site, as well. Below is the un-altered photo which reveals a big hint as to the identity of one of the others.

So then it's GCurling, DVC (I'm assuming that's the logo on the shirt), and the Capt.

So what do I win? All expenses paid vacation to my backyard, complete with water sprinkler theming?

Yes, that is in fact a Disney Vacation Club logo on Landbaron's shirt.

So, it's me on the left, DVC-Landbaron in the center, and Captain Crook on the right (or is it?) ;)

You either had low expectations or are a very nice person indeed (LOL)...In my typical glass half full Disney view of things, I'll take it as a compliment and start my day in a good mood!

Sorry I couldn't make it on Monday... I had a quasi-pseudo-date for Fantasmic... You know how that goes.
And no, it wasn't worth it.... (although the show was good)
Oh well.

When did you install an aladin spinner in your back yard?

tiggerstheman1

Well, I haven't put in a spinner yet, but I do offer 17 exciting attractions (remember that Disneyland and DCA had 22 when it opened and I'm on MUCH less land).

PuppyLand:
The Many Steps in Poo -- come experience the delightful world of man's best friend and the presents he gives you each and every day.
PawPrints in Time -- a wonderful stage show that leaves you wanting more.
Dog Food exploration -- See how professional dog keepers fill food bowls of several different breeds

LaundryLand:
Aunt Gerties Drawers -- A magical adventure where you are running through the backyard clothesline, just like in your younger days.
Breezes Through Flies -- Your whole family will love this production where the magic of TTM1 imagineers have created an attraction where real wind blows through the flies of real pants.

SouthernSummer Land:
Mosquito Jamboree -- Swatting never felt so good. Come on down and bring your Calamine lotion as we get down with our buzzing friends.
The PollenATEor -- Get chased by angry bees.
It's Tough to Be a Fire Ant -- Join Stinger and his friends as they explore your bare feet where you learn that Fire Ants don't sting because they have to, they sting because they WANT to.
Just a Day in the Ivy -- Yep, kids, it's the plant your mother warned you about, but too much fun to pass up --- Poison Ivy. It's back, and it's not happy.
Magic Lawn Revue -- A wonderful show that runs all summer long where you get to watch real Bermuda grass grow to unprecedented heights.

Weather Exploration Land:
Hurricane Spinner -- This attraction is currently on rehab awaiting the next storm. However, as a sneak preview, we can say that this excellent ride feature you, a "Sit-n-Spin", and a real Cat 5 storm.
Heat, The Ride -- Nothing beats the joys of sitting in the sun. Heat gives you just that, an August Day in the South with no shade. Your whole family will enjoy this and it's sister ride....
Heatstroke, The Experience -- You experience all the joys that come with this fun-filled attraction -- the nausea, dehydration, and lack of coordination -- a Southern Tradition.

This doesn't mention all other attractions like:
Bag-o-Boiled Peanuts
So Ya Want Some Water

And our parades:
Believe -- in Seagulls
Relive the Magic of Hotdogs

Yep, TTM1 has a full-featured theme park -- I'm so glad I won!

Eisner, where's my paycheck???!!!

I have some of those attractions in my backyard too, LOL...

I met Landbaron's brother last night (thought he was you for a second! Y'all look very much alike). He seemed to be having a good time.

YoHo

I actually guessed the good Capt. First, since he loks a bit Eisnerish. (early eighties before he grew fat on his successes and had a heart attack.)

After that I tried to figure out which one looked the most like a pasty white chicago native, but that failed due to the intense sun up here this year, we all have deeper tans then you floridinians.

P.S. How was it down there. Landbaron missed the 110 degree heat indexes. I went north and couldn't escape it.

Yoho, I don't think thats such a good thing to be here on the DIS, do you?;) Actually it' funny you say that though, because not too long ago as I was just getting into my Limo at RnR a CM, who I noticed staring at me, came over and told me "you know you look a lot like Michael Eisner", now personally I don't see it, but then I have always thought of him as quite the handsome fellow!

Glad you're back, I've wondered where you've been.

I have met the enemy and they are… they are… they are not bad guys at all!!

Seriously, I had a wonderful time meeting with everyone. First though, a little thread catch up.

Hedgehogcs writes: (But my illusions about DVC & Crook looking like Errol Flynn & Douglas Fairbanks, Jr are just crushed...)I disagree! BUT… Gcurling. How about next time we take more than one picture and use just the best one? I really am no judge for myself, but that picture doesn't do you and the Captain any justice either. And it certainly hides my Errol Flynn-ness!!! You can't even see my sword!!

DisDuck writes: Knowing that DVC has multiple children and man in the middle looks like someone with a large family. Hmmm. Is that a good thing, or a bad thing??

JeffJewell writes: That guy on the right... looks like a "Tom" to me... Who's Tom? ;)

Safari Steve writes:I met Landbaron's brother last night (thought he was you for a second! Y'all look very much alike). He seemed to be having a good time.He was having a ball!!! How could you not in WDW?!?!?! But, how in the world did you avoid me for two full weeks!!!??

I've saved the best for last!!! Janet2k writes:You gentlemen are even better looking than I had imagined...sigh...PLEASE - Do not ever change your monitor!! And can you make next July!!!! ;)

Now to the meeting itself. It is more than two weeks ago that this took place. It's hard to remember all the details. I do know that time slipped away much too fast though. We talked about many things and more or less seemed to agree on many of the issues. It's mainly big picture stuff that we disagreed on. The day to day stuff we ALL loved.

The Captian is as cheery and optomistic as his posts portray. His glass is NOT half full. It is overflowing! Like the old Maxwell House coffee commercials, it is truly a cup and a half of flavor!! I mean let's face it. He's staying in the Dolphin!! A very nice hotel, but there's nothing remotely Disney about it!! Yet he looks over the landscaping, catches a glimpse of something Disney on the horizon and he is in heaven!! I do recall at one point leaning over to him, carefully examining his glasses and asking if they were the rose-colored ones I'm always referring to!! He was a lot of fun!!

Gcurling was just as moderate as he appears here. He clearly sees both sides and it seems as though, to me at least, he takes a short trip in ALL the cars for a block or two at a time. That's not to say he vacillates, it's just that he is not a hard liner either way. He is very personable and very, very easy to talk to. In the first few awkward moments he got things going and kept them going throughout the night.

It was indeed my pleasure to meet these two fine fellows and my hope is to meet them again next year and many others as well!! I'm going back again mid July 2002. I know that is a week or two late for my friend Mr. Duck, but for all others, and even the lurkers out there, you gotta do it!! It's great to finally meet the people you've been writing to (and about)!!

I think, if I remember right, AV was nominated (and elected) to bring coffee and rolls for all the early risers!! Right AV!!?? (See what happens when you miss a meeting!!) ;)
