I don't know if this has been mentioned already, so sorry if I'm duplicating!
Just when you thought your Disney DVD collection was complete -- Target has all the old classic live action (not cartoon) Disney DVDs on sale this week for $9.99. They are normally $14.99 and up. These are the oldies you probably saw as a child like:
The Apple Dumpling Gang (and the sequel)
Herbie the Love Bug (and all the sequels)
Davy Crockett
Freaky Friday
The Parent Trap
Never Cry Wolf
Flight of the Navigator
Escape from Witch Mountain
The Cat from Outer Space
Candleshoe
Follow Me, Boys
The Black Hole
Something Wicked this Way Comes
Watcher in the Woods
Hans Brinker and the Silver Skates
And one that I thought was Disney, but it was actually MGM, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" for $7.50.
These are just the ones I remember, but there were at least 20 titles on sale! Stumbled upon this while looking for Bambi. (By the way, found a better Bambi deal next door at Best Buy, where I got it for $15.99 plus a free $9.99 value plush Thumper.)
Hope this helps somebody! :flower:

I don't remember seeing Pollyanna, but it might be worth a call to your local Target to see if they have it. That's very similar to the other movies that were there (60's, 70's, 80's live action). Good luck! :flower:

Flight of the Navigator
Escape from Witch Mountain
The Cat from Outer Space
Candleshoe
Follow Me, Boys
And one that I thought was Disney, but it was actually MGM, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" for $7.50. :)

I check out the Apple Dumpling Gang from the library all the time because I loved to watch that when I was a kid. But my kids won't watch it. "Looks boring." :sad1: But I keep trying.

I know. Unfortunately, most kids would probably roll their eyes and yawn at these movies. Our kids are young enough that we're trying to brainwash them early -- "Herbie the Love Bug" is my big surprise event for the weekend. We'll see if it can keep their attention like Nemo or Toy Story.

My kids love these movies and I have been spending 14.99 and up since I found them there! Last summer DS, 15, pouted most of the way to camp-he was too old and BTW the first words out of his mouth when I picked him up were thanks for not listening to me Mum, don't listen to me next year either I had a blast! So about half way up I put in The Ugly Dachsaund, which had him rolling in about 15 minutes. Whenever we go anywhere in the car as long as I have one of the classics you can hear a pin drop. There is no more fighting about movies, except possibly which one to watch! I say buy one and let them see it, I bet they will love them as much as my kids do. :wizard:
BTW the ones the kids have watched so far are:
Ugly Dachsaund, The Happiest Millionaire, Candleshoe, The Aplle Dumpling Gang, and Parent Trap and they are 16, 14 almost 15, 12, 10, and 8!

Two Target stores open in my area on Sunday and now I have even more reasons to visit them on opening day.
I used to love Flight of the Navigator and would love to have it on DVD, I it taped it from HBO many years ago and it is so grainy.
I also would love Pollyana and if I find it I will grab a bunch and let you all know. I can always take them back if no one wants them. Peggie

Thanks, jiminy14! I added your titles and my second batch of titles to the original post, so people could see the complete list of available titles. If anyone else finds more titles, let us know! :)
I would love to hear more opinions on these movies. I've only seen a few, and it was SO long ago I can barely remember them!

Hey C.Ann! I just found Pollyanna at www.deepdiscountdvd.com for $14.40 with free shipping. Not as good a deal as Target, but still not bad. Hope this helps! :flower:

We owned The Black Hole (on video disc!) when I was a kid, so that is the first of these releases that I bought for my own kids.
DD5 didn't care for it, but DS who is 11 loved it! I still get freaked out by the end........
We also have Flight of the Navigator, kids got that from an uncle for their birthdays. They both like it. DS is really into the whole sci fi thing.
It is a good movie.
I think the Davy Crockett one is the same as what is on the WD Treasures dvd. My kids really like Davy Crockett and DH and I enjoy watching them as well.
Parent Trap and Freaky Friday are just plain fun, as are the Herbie movies. My kids like all of these as well.
I didn't see them listed, but Darby O'Gill and the Little People and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea were just released also. Or at least they are now available at Walmart. $12.88. I don't usually buy too much there, but couldn't pass up these releases. Also grabbed Bedknobs and Broomsticks.
Again, all three are hits with my kids.
The Banshee in Darby O'Gill did scare them a little bit, but not the way I remember being scared as kid watching this movie.
They loved the end scenes of Bedknobs and Broomsticks, when Angela Lansbury's character makes suits of armor come to life. She is great in the film BTW.
Maybe my kids are just easy when it comes to movies? Not one of these movies has been declared a stinker!

My kids are three and love Annie!!!! Was that included? They are already singing "Its a hard Knock Life" and that funny to see them sing that! If they only knew!

Thanks for posting about this deal! I stopped by Target thinking I'd get a couple of these movies but ended up with 10. DH was with me and he remembered some that I had never heard of. Of course we had to get Mr. Toad's Wild Ride since neither of us had heard of the movie (starring John Cleese and Eric Idle) and we both love the ride.

My kids are now grown but loved Flight of the Navigator when they were younger. I think I will buy it for GS.

Another good movie if you can get it is Darby O'Gill and the little people, especially this time of year. I watch it every March around St Patty's day. My kids actually enjoyed it this year. They are 5 and 7. I wouldn't mind escape from Witch Mtn. I saw in a Zeller's flyer (in Can) that they had Bedknobs and Broomsticks, I'd like that one also. TTFN
