With so much snow storms, getting sick every other week since the beginning of January and our furnace quit on us on Saturday (no heat for 4 days - 32 degrees inside - just got heat a few hours ago) I did a first for me. I booked a 4 day trip for me, myself and I to OKW. My boss felt so bad for me (I lost my voice last night and got sick AGAIN) that he used 50,000 of his Delta Medillan Miles to purchase me a round trip ticket to Orlando (50,000 because it would gurantee me a seat on the flights I want to take). So starting Tuesday I am hoping to be in the sauna and the hot tub at OKW. :cheer2: :cheer2:   :bounce:  :earboy2:

Do you need more help in your company? A boss that helps get you to OKW and has sympathy for you being sick this winter..that's a BOSS!
Have a wonderful trip -- this has been a really rotten winter topped off by this really yucky week of snow!

I'll be here with SCDizneyDawn waiting for April 29th. Oh and did I mention that my reflectors at the end of my property line that stand 4 feet tall are no longer visible!!!
Now that's A LOT of snow!!!
Have a great trip and tell your boss about those of us Upstate that can help him/her with the rest of their Delta miles. :goodvibes

Yes, but all this snow makes for great skiing!!
I'm also not far from Boston. What makes things worse is that I just got back last Sat. from 9 days at BWV.
80 degree weather and sunny for 9 days and now this crap. Makes me sick!!

Here on Long Island also and I know what is meant by too much snow for this winter, had another 6 inches last nite. Oil price's keep going up, Towns have run out of money to clean streets so no overtime, snow is still all over the place, no place to park. People not going to Malls to shop, stores not using PT help to staff stores. and on, and on, and on. ....
Anyway can't wait until end of April when all the DIs'ers here are bailing and heading south. Wish I was there now.

Don't forget to tell your boss, we think he is very "Disney" :wizard:
Have a great time.

Wow! Good for you and what a nice boss!
The snow got me so down that I took my 3 sons to the Wilderness Lodge for 4 nights last week without my DH who had to work! We drove home from the airport in a snowstorm and got another one here again last night. I feel like I live in the Arctic Circle!

April can't get here fast enough for us. I'm in Northwestern NJ and we have at least 3 feet of snow sitting on the ground. It's AWFUL!!!!
And I'm a skier...typically don't mind winter....but we've had three major snow storms in the past week it seems. Just heard the weather and they are calling for more this weekend and next week :(. UGH! I want to wear sandals not snow boots.
Okay...done ranting. I guess all of us North-Easterners are in the same boat eh?

I know I am very lucky to have my boss. I have worked for him for 11 years now. This is one way he shows his appreciation of having me as his secretary. He use to have some real doozies before I started with him. He told me some stories. Plus typing over 125 words a minute doesn't hurt. I now have laryngitis and came to work because my boss needs me to do a huge powerpoint presentation he needs next week in Tahoo. I can't believe he is going somewhere where there is more snow than in New York.
Also I found out this morning that I have another plus working for him. He accidentently booked my reservation for leaving on Monday, March 7th instead of the 8th. Now isn't that a shame. I will just have to stay at Disney one day longer. :teeth: I called DVC and the only thing they have available is a one bedroom at SSR. I was looking for a studio. I didn't want to use the points so I put on my Visa card a one day stay at my non-DVC resort - Dixie Landing (Port Orleans Riverside).
Last night news had stated that New York is suppose to get 3 more storms in one week. The first starting this Friday night. So I can't wait to get out of here. Thank God for DVC.

You people think you have problems???
When I took BabyGirl to day care this morning, a cold front had come through - on top of the other cold front that came through 3 days ago - and the temperatures had plunged. It was 57 degrees!
I had to wear long pants! It has warmed up, but I don't think it ever will get up to 80 today.
This is miserable! I'm going "Down Island!"

I am so sick of the snow here in New York also. You never know what the rest of March will bring. I used to ski but haven't in a few years so I really don't enjoy the winter anymore. Its not just the snow, but the lack of bright sunshine that makes everything gloomy, now I know how Eeyore feels.

Yeah, i know what you mean. Here in NY about August when there is a nice cool breeze coming off the lake and it's only 75 it can be a problem. I'll remind you of it in 5 months :wave2:

Yes, Jim, we will remind you how nice it is here in Upstate NY when the breeze blows across Lake Ontario bringing down the temperature to a nice comfortable level! You will not be able to go outside because it'll be 95 with 100% humidity in FL!
Nah, I'd still take life in FL even in the summer over life in Upstate NY! :guilty:

I am really happy for you!! What a super boss. Here's to hoping you feel much better after a little relaxation at OKW. Enjoy and think of all of us still dealing with the cold and snow.
:sunny:
DH&I were at BCV last week when we had two storms here in NY. I felt like I was dreaming the whole week - temp in the 80's, short sleeves and shorts, flowers blooming everywhere, ahhhhhhhh.
Enjoy! We sure did!

Well, it's not like I didn't ask for that. Not like I didn't richly deserve it either. Sometimes you just can't resist the temptation to be naughty! pirate:
As far as August, though, remember that I live in Miami. I'd rather in the Rockies or Sierras in August, but Miami is nothing like Orlando in August. It gets in the low 90's, and the humidity is sure high, but we usually have a nice breeze. Orlando is in the upper 90's with no wind and 100% humidity.

Ok, if you say so. My experience in Lauderdale August was my shoes stuck to the pavement, i still have pieces of steering wheel fused to my hands, and played towel hopscotch at the beach, then made glass castles.
Ok, did i tell you about the 3 storms we had in Sept and Oct. The winds were 15 MPH with gusts to 17! My lights actually flickered, i think. :p
Ok, that was a little low, hmmm....how about the time i was stuck in traffic for 3 minutes in Upstate NY? They drive like maniacs too, going 57 MPH.
Yes we all have our problems, ours happens to be right now. 45 days, 45 days, 45 days..................

Hey DisneyOKW - I'm a LIer too! And I know so know what you mean! Good for you - I think I'd LOVE a me, myself and I trip! It will cure all your blues I'm sure. My family was there last week and it makes a WORLD (pardon the pun) of difference. Sunshine and warm weather, nothing to think about except "should I have my coffee on the porch or in the bubble bath?"! No worries!
You have a wonderful wonderful time and feel better!
