Good Morning, my fellow WISHers!!

Well, during a leisurely game of bowling Friday night I managed to pull a hamstring (!).

What can I do exercise-wise while this heals?? I'm thinking about upper-body strength training tonight...

I can assume that the elliptical training is out, but what about walking at a slow pace??

Any information/advice is greatly appreciated!

;)

:sunny: Good morning,

I thought I'd follow up on my post from yesterday, my question must have been a "stumper"!!

I spoke with a trainer at the Y yesterday...he said that I could continue to strength train, but to lift 1/2 of what I normally lifted & work up gradually from there...light stretching can help too!!

Now I know!

any upper body work at all. Also, does your Y have a pool, that is always a good bet.

I wouldn't elliptical right now. See how walking feels, if it hurts your hamspring, don't do it. Also, are you using a heating pad? Ask the Y person, whether you should ice it or use a heating pad. I, pesonally, would try a heating pad.

Just keep exercising, don't stop. That's what put my lbs on and quick! How about pilates? Or yoga? Some local libraries have pilates and/or yoga DVDs or VHS tapes.

Hopefully someone else can add to the list of possibilities for you too... :sunny:
