That looks yummy! We will be hitting Victoria Falls before dinner at Boma's when we met up with my best friend and her hubby for dinner. They will be on their last night of their honeymoon so it will be a nice celebration!
Does anyone know what kind of champange they have available?????
Champange???? I never even thought of champange. LOL. Sounds like a wonderful idea. Are you buying?

I seem to remember a section of grocery items when I was looking around, but I am not 100% sure. Hopefully someone that is leaving in the next few days can find out & let us know. This is what I plan on doing as well. My 1st stay there was only one night & not long enough!
ETA: Maybe I am thinking of Maras, I know I seen milk there.
In regard to a question I saw posted. Does AKL sell 1/2 gallons milk? I usually bring cereal for the boys and buy the small cartons but since we are staying at AKL and it has a fridge in the room. I thought it would be better to buy the milk and keep it in the fridge so as not to make a trip in the morning.
Thanks, Tamra :)

There is a great deal of information on these boards about AKL. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask away. Someone is usually always around to help.

Best of luck to those traveling in the next week or so. Have a great time!!!
We'll all have to compare picts.

I'm taking a break from packing right now. We're leaving for the airport tomorrow morning at 8:30am. :hourglass
I can't find DH's bathing suit!! :confused3 I brought down all of our summer clothes from the attic, but it's just not there. I haven't decided if I want to run out to the store tonight, or just wait and buy one at the AKL. The AKL gift shop does sell men's bathing suits, right??

6 more days....I called today and paid the balance on the room so I don't have to do it at check in.
I know we've been over this but are there any rooms that are actually on the ground?
ETA - I guess there are - it sounds that way in the description on all ears. The CM told me though that all rooms start of floor 2. Last time we were on either the 3rd or 5th floor and I never paid attention. :)

Lillygator -- I didn't pay attention either, but I believe the CM was right and there are not rooms on "ground" level. Here is a post from another thread with some pics that show what I mean........ the rooms are not on the ground, I don't think you can walk out the door or balcony to get to the ground. Now, I may be wrong........ but these pics show that they aren't. If you do find out for certain while you are there, let us know. Have a great time.......... Enjoy it!!!

Nah, I don't think that she brought that issue over here at all. Sometimes when we are angry or feel attacked or treated unfairly (which I think she was), it is good to vent to friends. And I think that is all she was doing.

Hi,
I just found this thread and was reading haven't been able to get through all of it yet though but was wondering if anyone could please answer my questions even if they have been asked before (I usually hang out on the restaurant or themepark boards)?
We just booked AKL concierge (8/17-8/20) and got the Sunrise Safari for 8/20, a special treat for my niece and nephew. Thanks to Sue Ellen at DU. Then we go to OKW for two nights.
Just wanted to ask what the chances of us getting a queen/bunkbed configuration, so niece and nephew don't have to share a bed (the other bed will be occupied by my sister and I, DBIL is staying home)?
What percent of the concierge rooms have a pool view, the kids want a savannah view? We requested both queen/bunk bed and savannah view and know it is just a request but what is the chance we could get both? We are checking in on a Thursday am if that makes a difference.
Can you please tell me about other activities for the kids (twins, age 8) at the resort? We plan to take some time at the resort as we have never been to AKL but have been to WDW and will be back as we are DVC members.
Thanks for any help.
(Just realized I posted under my sister's screen name as I didn't realize she was logged in on my computer. My screen name is LAWalz23.)

....JAMBO! and :welcome: to our jungle!! I would call AKL and explain that you have 'different sex' kids accompanying you on your trip and that you'd prefer for them to sleep in separate beds. I am sure they will do their best to try to accomodate you....
As for the advice of 'stuff' for 8-y-olds to do, grab a rea-a-a-a-a-lly big cup'o'joe and sit back, relax, and read through our thread...there's oodles and oodles of great info posted by our many faithful AKL loyalists... :thumbsup2 (BTW ~ the kid's [and BI ones too!] are going to LOVE the SS!) Now, I have a question for YOU - since you are a DVC member, are you using 'points' at AKL??

This is such a good idea. I did make a request on my ressie for bunks, but I'm going to call back to make a note that we need the bunks for gender reasons. I hope we get the bunks.
And I wish Seaspray would find a way to post a "live from the AKL" thread! She's there right now!

Catsrule - Have an terrific time! Tell all the babies "HI" for me. :teeth:
LAWalz23 - You won't be disappointed in concierge. I'd e-mail them directly and let them handle all your ADR's. wdw.AKLodge.concierge@disney.com Nothing against DU, but you are paying for the services of IPO. I prefer to correspond directly with them even when I've used a TA in the past. They can purchase gifts for you to have waiting in your room upon arrival in case you want to surprise anyone. I've done this on all almost every trip. Embroidered Golden Mickey ears is one idea. I purchased these along with pin/lanyard sets and the 50th celebration pins last year. You can always request a card signed by a character, too. They typically don't charge for this unless a picture has to be purchased for the character to sign.
I'm sure folks can get character autographs even if they are not staying concierge. I don't think I've ever really found the answer to this or not. Wild Bunch - do you know if anyone can request an autograph?
Just a pic because they typically do a nice presentation:

stephwynn - Yes, the Golden Mickey ears are in the park at a gift shop! :cool1: I don't know where they had them embroidered, but I bet the front desk could tell you which shop to go to...or some nice fellow Disers can stop by and advise.
Catsrule - You put a funny picture in my head. My fellow co-workers are looking at me as if I've lost my mind. Laughing to yourself can raise a few eyebrows. Just remember to not go commando in your room with your curtains open. They have 24 hour video survellience. Webbie,
A few months ago, our local newspaper had a wedding picture of couple who got married on Arusha Rock. The bride said that the CMs put out food all around Arusha Rock to draw the animals in right before the ceremony.
I would love for my daughter to get married at the AKL.
Please keep me posted.

I think it was Steph who asked about the Golden Ears-we got a pair last year in California-I think they are being made for the 50th anniversary celebration.
The picture you guys have all been displaying are fab-they make me want to go take a basic photography class-what kind of cameras are you using or is it just technique... :confused3 my photos never look that good...I'm going to start practicing...in seven months I ought to be able to take a focused photo wothy of posting (lol)
I noticed several pages back that Wendy posted a yummy looking picture of a drink from Victoria Falls and some yummy dips...can we do a light dinner there? Or can we do a dinner at Mara and take drinks down to Mara...?
I don't think I can eat a huge meal every night (especially on days when I'm booking character breakfasts (twice -1900 Park Fare & Donalds and of course, Boma at least once for breakfast)-I've read Mara's menus-does anyone know if Mara's soups and salads are similar to Boma?
Hello and have a fabulous time to anyone who is currently there or going soon ... :cheer2:

I'll jump in and help with this question. I was just at AKL two weeks ago (sniff) and had hope to be able to get lighter fare at Victoria Falls but their offerings are strictly drinks and snacks. Even the snacks are minimal. I had a drink with the 'Crisp Bread and Three Dips' but other than that- I think all I remember were nuts and a cheese plate that was offered.
I don't know if you can get the drinks to go. I ended up having my drink and appetizer at Victoria Falls then went down to Mara and got a salad and some zebra domes to bring back to my room to eat sitting on my balcony.
Happy planning!

Kimmar, God Bless you -I can't imagine driving that long and making a post 8pm ADR-but if your DS has a girlfriend, I'm assuming that your kid(s) are older-my 11 DD princess: gets really cranky if she's tired pirate:, my 3 1/2 would just be slap happy :rotfl: along with his mommy.
Are you set on eating in Epcot that evening? (I never ate at Alfredo's either but have eaten at Crown & Rose, Chefs de France and Morocco's restaurant if you are curious about any of those.
(I also just read a really nice review on Raglan Road (Irish) at Downtown Disney.)
It's funny that you mention not doing WCC-I had been thinking about it doing it one night since we want to check out the WL holiday decorations and supposedly you can take a holiday carriage ride (for a fee of course). (The Wilderness Lodge being the family's personal favorite-till this point-I had to sell them on AKL with all the great info on this site-change is good sometimes... :thumbsup2 ) Anyhow DD and DH not keen on the idea, especially DD because she is sure that they will tease her and do something humiliating to her :smooth: -and she's probably right because they look for people who look uncomfortable-they're more fun to tease! (My son on the other hand would probably love it!)
But as far as the food at WCC, I'm pretty sure they have any a la carte menu and not everything is barbequed???
Wendy, I wish you were going before I had to make my ADRS (mid June), because I also want to try three of yours-Le Cellier, Coral Reef and Concourse. Don't be worried there are dedicated busses that go from AKL to AK park. The ride takes less than 5 minutes because they are so close together so as you can imagine they are fairly frequent. Wherever you read that or whoever told you has never stayed at AKL is my guess.

I promise you that the buses DO go from AKL to AK park......... we did it about 6 times in Jan./Feb. The buses run anywhere, just look for the sign at the bus stop for where you want to go, get on that bus and viola~~~
We parked our car when we arrived, then didn't see it again till check out!!! We love WDW transportation, it took us to all the parks, DTD and back to AKL......... you don't need a car at all!!!

We ate at LeCellier in Jan. and it is as good as you've heard. That's why we are going again!!! I'd say it's a not to be missed restaurant. As for Coral Reef, I've been there, it's been years, but I do remember enjoying it ~~ DH wants to try it, so we are. We've never been to Concourse, but, as I'm sure you've noticed by our ADR's, DH is a "steak" lover!!! ;) we've read mixed reviews on Concourse, but, we'd like to try it out for ourselves!! But, again, I'd suggest trying them out, especially Le Cellier, our DS is 6 and he even enjoyed it. I've read that people question if it's "kid friendly"....... from my opinion, YES, our CM was doing magic tricks with DS, and couldn't have been any more wonderful!!! He didn't even charge my for my side item.......( I got asparagus) It was a very nice, relaxing meal, not to mention delicious melt in your mouth steaks.......... and don't even get me started on the dessert......................
Good luck with your ADR's!!

We are trying WCC for dinner this time. We had the breakfast last time & thought it was pretty good. Hope we are not to disappointed.
[QUOTE=wendypooh]
You know when DH and I were making our final dec. on our ADR's, we decided we really didn't care for the food at WCC either........ I mean the "atmosphere" was great....... but, we got the skillet..... and really thought the bbq at flametree was better!!!
Hey ~~ Please go and try it for yourself!!!! We just didn't care for the skillet, and no, I don't think everything there is bbq. I didn't mean that!!! They do have other options on the menu, if we had tried something else we might have loved it. We just weren't crazy about it and want to try some new places. I'm really NOT trying to discourage anyone from eating here, it was really fun, and the bottomless shakes were AWESOME!!! Again, if any of you want to try it.......... please do!!! Maybe we just hit it on a bad day.......... :confused3

Kimmar:
When we went to WCC in April, it was still Lent and my sister and I don't eat meat on Fridays. She did not like the fish offering, so we asked our server (Jeffro, funny but in a dry, not overly loud manner) if we could have the salmon from Artist Point. He said that he would check with the chef, he couldn't make any promises, but he came through! So maybe you could try the same thing.

Let me know if this doesn't make sense.
Did someone post about food? ~drool~ I may be out of turn and totally OT, but I can't resist food talk. WCC was very fun and I thought the fried chicken and mashed taters were good. Don't forget to ask for some ketchup. ;) I thought Kona's was better for lunch than dinner, but maybe my taste buds were on the fritz that night. Has anyone eaten at O'hana lately? Is the menu different now? I thought I read it had something else offered now. We didn't have the best service in the world there. It was a wee bit of a turn off, but I'm going to take my own advice and give it another shot later. Just wanted to see what folks are saying.
BTW, you've got some good tasting...I mean looking ADRs lined up. :thumbsup2

Hi,
You all seem so much more organized than I am. Here we are leaving in a little more than a month, and I haven't made any ADR's. Somehow, last time when we were there, we found CS was our preference...too busy going from one park to another. Now I feel like I am missing something! I was thinking of making ressies for both breakfast and dinner (not on the same day :rotfl: ) at Boma, but I notice that none of you have ressies at Jiko...any particular reason? :confused3
We stayed at CBR last trip, and we all seemed to enjoy the food court there...not sure now what to do?
Have I missed the boat now? It's probably way too late to start making ressies for the time we are going to be there?
I feel like I'm planning and planning..all for the parks, and nothing about food. DH is not really interested in haute cuisine...he is just as happy with a peanut butter sandwich as a full out Christmas dinner!!
Does anybody else run into this?
Thanks!

Hi, you did not say if you are on the dining plan. We are on the dining plan this trip so we made ADR's for each evening. The reason we did not make ressies for Jiko's is the fact Jiko's is 2 TS credits.
Do you plan on eating at any table service resturants while in the parks or hotel? If so I would suggest you make ADR's for those nights. You just might not get seated if you just walk up to a resturant. If you plan on eating mostley counter service then you will be fine.

Hi,
You all seem so much more organized than I am. Here we are leaving in a little more than a month, and I haven't made any ADR's.
Thanks!
If you are planning on dining at any TS restaurants, I'd call and make resevations!!
We stayed at CBR last trip, and we all seemed to enjoy the food court there...not sure now what to do?
Mara has an EXCELLENT food court!!! I'd suggest the African Stew!!! It's awesome. We also ate breakfast here almost everyday!!
I notice that none of you have ressies at Jiko...any particular reason? :confused3
As Webbie stated, Jiko is 2TS credits, for those of us on the dining plan, it is not as effective to use our credits that way. We opt for 1TS credit restaurants. You CAN use the credits how ever you choose, but if you use 2TS credits for one meal, then you have to pay oop for others. We also use our TS credits for "dinner" meals, we usually pay oop for our breakfast, as we eat very little for breakfast usually.
Have I missed the boat now? It's probably way too late to start making ressies for the time we are going to be there?
NOPE ~~ Go ahead and call for your ADR's. If you don't get the day or time you want, try calling back for any cancellations. Also, be flexible on the days if you can. ( I.E. if you are at MK one day, perhaps you could consider dining at Epcot if that is the only day the restaurant has an opening). I agree with Webbie, I'd hate for you to get turned away from a restaurant you wanted to dine at.
( I've read about this happening at some of the more popular places to people without ADR's)
Good Luck, Have Fun and eat a Zebra Dome or 2!!!!

I am really hopeing you are on the Dinning Plan. Then you could try different restaurants and no guilt. Sometimes even my DH who loves great food really finds Disney TS expensive. If I were you I would make a few ADR just to be on the safe side. You can always cancel before the time if you feel it isn't going to work for you on that day.
You will love Boma and having breakfast there is very different then dinner. In fact Boma's is my favorite place for breakfast. :)
Jiko's is great, great food. However, it is a top dinning place. It is rather expensive. We have eaten there twice and will be making it a third time this Christmas. If you like wine, their wine paring is fantastic Africian wines. :p
Wendy, I really hope you can convience your husband for Kona. It is great!!! It is much better the Ohana's. Their food is so fresh and the presentation is beautiful. If you go make sure someone orders the Kiddie Cone. I ordered it for my DH as a surpise (he didn't know what it was) and he just loved it. Of course he is a big kid himself.
Oh, on the way out we saw a bridal party having their dessert and all had Kiddie Cones. Great photo moment and so much fun. The look on the brides face was so cute.

We haven't decided on the dining plan just yet. I have tried to do the math three ways from Sunday...and it always seems to me that it might be more expensive given our patterns from last trip. Seems to me we ate at Rose and Crown in Epcot once or twice, (mostly to get a good seat for the fireworks!), and once at the TS restaurant at CBR, and other than that, we did mostly counter service, in the parks, or at the hotel when we got back. As I said, we aren't huge eaters, and find that we would rather spend our time in the parks...
We also plan one day at Universal, so I thought maybe it would be better just to pay as we go. I am thinking of trying Jiko one night, and Boma both for Breaky and Dinner on different days. Other than that...maybe a Fantasmic dinner package? I don't know...Decisions decisions. :confused3 .maybe I should bite the bullet and just get the package and then we can make ADRs and cancel if necessary? Yikes...too many things to figure out...and first have to get through my daughter's graduation! :cheer2:
Getting sooo excited!!!

After we got engaged DFi actually broke the news that he was orignally going to propose when I go to Disney in June. (If you all remember he was suppose to go on the trip with me but can't) So the "story" is not as impressive as that would have been. I was getting ready for bed and went walking into the bedroom and there was DFi looking all goofy and going on and going about how much he loved me. (you know all that mushy stuff). He reached behind him and grabbed a box and opened it and there was "The Ring." After that I was in such shock that it is all kinda blurry. Sounds wierd but I was totally surprised but he asked me to marry him, I thought it was going to be later this summer. I asked him if he was joking and then said yes. Of course there was more mushy stuff said and we were engaged!
I now have him considering a Disney Wedding...I have always dreamed of one. I started going to Disney when I was 3 and it is my favorite place to visit and I am never tired with it. I told him we could even get married at AKL, he loves it there.

Hi everyone! :wave2:
As soon as DH and DS leave for work and school this morning I'll be adding the AKL pictures to my web page :teeth:
I have a question though... I'm strongly considering changing our resort for our August trip (just staying 2 days after our Disney cruise). Currently we're booked at the Grand Floridian in a concierge room, but we loved the AKL so much that I'm thinking of changing the reservation now! I'm just wondering what the exact room configurations are. I called last evening and got a not-so-pleasant CM. She sounded very irritated because apparently I was asking for a room that doesn't exist. LOL I thought that since the WL deluxe rooms have 2 queen beds plus a daybed, that AKL did too. And I guess this is incorrect. The deluxe rooms at AKL only have a queen, bunk beds, and a daybed?? There aren't any rooms with 2 queens and a daybed? I don't want a suite. Well anyway, I'm thinking that if there aren't any deluxe rooms that have what I want, maybe we'll just get a regular room. :scratchin

:scratchin
....:hyper: Ooohhh, oohhh, ooohhhh, I can't wait...... :woohoo: :teeth:

Terry,
Thanks for all the great pics! Every time I hear your vacation music, I dance in my chair.
I just wanted to say that the only time we've had the chest of drawers near the entry door is when we were staying in an end room. When you have three or four people in a room, staying for a week or longer, it comes in handy. I wish the Lodge had them in every room.

Terry (SeaSpray) your photo's are wonderful, as usual :) I feel like I just had a mini vacation. I am so glad you and your DH had a wonderful time. So now you want to go back after your cruise. :rolleyes1 It is such a wonderful resort and easy to fall in love with.
You ask if there was a room configuration of two queens with a daybed. I am sorry I don't personally know. I have heard they have rooms with two queens, but I don't think the standard rooms have a daybed. I know the concierge rooms have a daybed with the King. That is were we have always stayed. :cloud9: There should be enough room in a concierge level room for two queens and a daybed. If I were you I'd try calling again. Hopefully you will get a nicer CM.
You were taking your laptop with you on this trip. How did you like the internet system hookup they had? Was it WIFI? Was it available in your room?
Thank you so much for shareing your trip report and photos.

Catching up after a few days. My birthday was on Tuesday and for birthday present this year I booked myself a solo trip to the world for the end of September. I wish I was staying at AKL, but it will be at CBR unless some great AP rates come out for AKL. Of course I will be religously visiting AKL for zebra domes as I will be on the free dining plan :teeth:
Kimmar :cheer2: :cheer2: Your ticker is back!! How are your trip plans coming along?
wendypooh If you can convince your DH Kona is one of my new favorites I'm sure you would enjoy it.
SeaSpray I love your live TR and your pictures are awesome. I wish I wa there now
stephwynnYou have gotten some great advice...although I know I'm in the minority here, but I think I liked the foodcourt at CBR better than the one at AKL minus the Zebra Domes of course. I think for some reason CBR had a much bigger grab and go area and a larger bakery area.
ktinkFor me Kona was a huge suprise last fall. I thought I would give it a try because I had heard good things about and SeaSpray provided an awesome review last summer Here (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=859807&page=2&pp=15) (Post number 21). Lo and Behold it is now a must do for me.
Andiloo Have a great trip :thumbsup2
Angel16 Glad to hear another Kona fan on the thread. I really liked the kiddie kone as well.

Can I be an honorary member of the 'Jambo Wild Bunch' now?!?!? :goodvibes :teeth:
Angel: There is a LAN cable in the closet, for internet access. There is no wifi at AKL as of this time. The cost is $9.95 for each 24 hour period. The internet connection was ok the first day, but during that weekend it was horrible. Even a simple email program took several minutes for the page to download. By Monday evening it improved, but I still wouldn't call it "high speed" by any means. lol Strangely enough, the pages that loaded the fastest for me were the DIS boards. LOL Poor DH, couldn't do much work while we were away, and that was the whole reason for him taking the laptop in the first place. From what I heard, the internet connection is usually better than what we experienced, so I hope you have faster loading times than we did. :)

First, I love your user name! So cute :tink: I was looking at your signiture line and you have two children under the age of 11. I would not give up the O'hana ADR at all. You kids will love it and the last time we were there the food was good. So here is my question. If you and your children love the ocean I would keep Coral Reef and drop Whispering Canyon. Coral Reef is so beautiful and children love seeing all the sea life. The food was exceptional last October. However, I recently did notice that they have changed their menu and do not have the filet or lobster. It could be available, just not listed. :confused3 IMHO there is enough noise and activity going on at WDW that I don't think I would enjoy Whispering Canyon. Just my thoughts, I have never gone, but it does not appeal to either my DH or myself. Now if you were doing Artist Point....I would say make sure you go.
The food at Kona is very, very good. Their presentation is beautiful. The staff enteracts with children during the meal. And as I said before. Make sure someone orders the Kiddie Cone :earboy2:
Hope this helps a little.

Okay, I have to admit that I thought some of you "Wild Bunch" were just a little crazy and a little too obsessed with AKL. I just returned yesterday from a 4 day trip and my first time at AKL. And all I have to say is . . .
. . . Hello, my name is pixiesnake, and I'm in LOVE with the Animal Kingdom Lodge!
I loved everything about it and am now wondering how I will ever be able to stay anywhere else. I have a trip planned to WDW in September and will be staying with friends at POP. AKL is not in the budget for them - how will I ever survive? I am now trying to convince my husband to take me there for an anniversary weekend (we are only 2 hours away). He was not on this trip and I keep trying to explain how wonderful the place is. I have 3 months to convince him. I am now truly obsessed with AKL - it's all I could think about today.
Thanks to all on this thread for the good info before my trip. I will continue to come here as often as possible to dream about AKL. I will try to post some of my pictures as soon as I figure out how to do it.

Well part of me is on :cloud9: due to the fact that my parents and DNephew may be going to the world w/ us this Sept. :Pinkbounc But DN and now my youngest princess: have seen pics of ASMO they are DN 6 and DD 5 and they want to stay there. It's true the larger than life theming really appeals to the younger children but I have my heart set on AKL. Papaw, my dad, will hear nothing of staying anywhere but where the kids want and I agree w/ that to a certain extent. Now DH has realized we'll save around $900 and is on the bandwagon w/ the grandparents. I thought this was all set in stone but it is really making me sad. My oldest DD has been looking at all the planning w/ me and has become quite the little resort snob, like me, DH says we need to quit being so critical of the All Stars. All he sees is $$. But we'll see what happens. I told my parents the free dining has to be booked by June 4. Wish me luck. We've changed resorts so many times and I really want to go w/ AKL but DH says maybe we'll stay there instead of the Poly when we go in Feb 07, men, they just don't get it. :sad2:

Just wanted to say thanks to all who have kept this thread going. I love this thread and I am only up to page 85 but it helps me unwind every night as I spend most of the day stressing between work and my mother's upcoming open heart sugery for an aortic anuerysm on 6/9. I will be at AKL with my sister and twin niece and nephew, 8, August 17-20th. Hope to meet some of the Jambo bunch.
Ktink, maybe you can appeal to the animal lover in the kids or offer to get them binoculars to see the animals. My niece and nephew are so excited that they are going to be able see the animals. We call them resort snobs because the first resort we ever stayed in was the Poly and they have both remarked on how small the rooms were at POFQ and ASSP.

pixiesnake Glad you had a great trip to AKL. I will keep my fingers crossed that you have are able to convince your hubby for a weekend anniversary trip.
Syrreal Hope you have a wonderful trip
ktink I agree with what Angel posted that you should give up Whispering Canyon for Kona and hit it on another trip. I posted my pics of Kona food in the food porn thread over on the Restaurants Board Here is a link to the Post (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=12766844&postcount=3292) You vertainly have been on a resort roller coaster. Maybe you need to show the little ones the video of AKL from the vacation planning video and some pictures...Don't forget that ASMO does not have a pool slide and the AKL pool has the nice zero entry feature as well. Whatever happens I know you guys will still have a great tripOT: I have to say I like your Keith Urban tag...I got the a cd for my birthday and I have really been enjoying it.
tinknme If the Kona menu looks enjoyable to you I would go for it.
I Heart Piglet Have a good stay and remember to take pics and fill us in on your stay
taekwondo mom :wave2: welcome to the Jambo thread. As far as room transfers go just tell them at POP you want to have your luggage transfered to AKL and they will take care of everything for you. Make sure you pack a day bag of what you need as your luggage will not arrive at AKL until between 1-3pm. Scoutsmom, We have been on a resort rollercoaster. We did sit down and watch the new planning DVD and the kids do want to stay at Music now. We also went to allears.net and watched all the slideshows. I'm trying to look to the bright side of this and remember how MAGICAL our first stay was and how wonderful we thought Pop was. Those were the days before I found dis and became such a resort snob, imagine what kind of monster I'll turn into once we do stay deluxe. ;) But we are very excited that my parents are coming along and if that's what it takes then it serves a good purpose.

Ktink-I think that is wonderful :goodvibes AKL will always be there for a future trip and you can always stop by and check out the grounds and animals for something to do with the kids. That is so awesome your parents are able to go. I would love to get my grandma (maternal) to WDW and bring my dad back (he hasn't been in about 10 years), but I have not been able to do it yet..so I know what you mean when you say if that is what it takes. Hopefully, we will still see ya around the parks :goodvibes

Quote:taekwondo mom welcome to the Jambo thread. As far as room transfers go just tell them at POP you want to have your luggage transfered to AKL and they will take care of everything for you. Make sure you pack a day bag of what you need as your luggage will not arrive at AKL until between 1-3pm. As far as room suggestions I think Zebra trail is a nice location (close to the pool and mara).
Thank You Scoutsmom!!!! Great info.. :cheer2:

:sad2:
...just tell 'em that you and your DD will meet them in front of MK/Epcot/MGM/AK first thing every morning...... :teeth: But, seriously, how about a split-stay?? I've done it and it's not that bad - REALLY! Then everyone is happy!
Lisa ~
I made my ressies but I might change them again..... :confused3 WHo knows? Just color me FICKLE !!

Brave mom 3 We are leaving in 13 days for AKL for 9 days. Our 2 boys don't know where we are staying it is a total surprise. We want to wait until we arrive to tell them. Any suggestion since you are surprising yours also? :cool1:
Last year DD8 kept guessing where we were going to stay. All I would say is..."Maybe we are, and maybe we aren't". When we arrived at the airport DW "let it slip" that we were staying at All Star Music  . As we drove toward AKL we kept passing signs for All Stars. DD8 was convinced that's where we were staying. Finally, when we passed the All Stars exit, I pretended that I accidentally missed it. Shortly thereafter we came upon AKL! I asked DD8 if she would rather stay at AKL. She was thrilled, and quite surprised!

OK folks, I've been reading stuff all OVER the web and this seems to be one of the most active boards for "Disney Experts". I am, therefore, begging a small amount of your time and attention in helping me insure as perfect a surprise for my wife on our 10th as possible.
First let me appologize for not using (or caring to learn) all the acronyms you all seem so fond of. The only ones I know are GF (Grand Floridan) and AKL (Animal Kingdom Lodge). Guess I'm just too old, but I like to actually be able to read things...
That aside, this trip is to be a surpise for my wife. We have lived in Florida for 10 years and got burnt out on Disney loooong ago (long lines, traffic jams, etc.), prior to the Animal Kingdom area opening. When it opened, the wife began dropping hints which I dutifully ignored until she moved on. Allowing her to think me an uncaring cad was not fun, but necessary. We are leaving Florida for good on June 1 (not soon enough for me) and I'm sure that, while she has a clue that she'll need the week of July 4th off, she probably thinks we're going to Ireland or maybe on a whale watching cruise or something.... certainly NOT returning to Florida. Sneaky devil, ain't I...
Anyway, I have pre-paid a Concierge level room at AKL for July 2 - 8 with the Magic Your Way Platinum Package. I tried to make the reservations online at Disney's website, but kept having trouble so I just called. The reservations person told me that the Platinum package and concierge level rooms gave me access to itinerary planning assistance and that all I had to do was call a number and someone could help me plan every detail of the trip (i.e. dining reservations, special events, flower deliveries, etc.). This was just before the end of April and everything I had read told me that I was waaaay behind the curve on trying to get certain reservations and so I was anxious to get with my "personal planner" and get things set. The reservations person said if I had any trouble to call them back and they would try and help.
When I tried the number I had been given it turned out to be for the GF planning folks and the person I spoke with gave me the correct number. At that point things went downhill quickly... I tried for 48 hours to actually speak with someone.. anyone... I left messages with return call numbers and times my wife wouldn't be here to intercept. I tried speed dialing repeatedly... they NEVER answer the phone, period. Apparently their service is based on outbound only... anyway, I eventually called reservations back and the only thing they could do was try the same number... with the same results. They suggested I just start making my own reservations by calling things individually. Sadly, I'm not a "Disney Expert" and have no clue as to what all is available, what things are possible and what aren't as far as time to go between "here and there", etc.
I did finally suck it up, ran out and bought a Birnbaum's and started trying to do my own "planning". The second place I called to try and make a reservation, I was getting depressed and told my story to the person on the phone... I know she wasn't there for that, but .. it was a good thing I did. She asked me to hold and about 30 seconds later my "angel of mercy" came on the other end. I don't know just what her primary job function is, but I'm betting she's way up the food chain from your normal "planner". Autumn proceeded to do a VERY professional job easing my concerns, taking me through step-by-step on what could be done and what couldn't, what was available, what we might want and things we should probably skip. It took about 2 hours but when all was said an done, I finally believed I had a truly "magical" experience planned.
Eventually I DID receive an email from "Sue" at AKL conierge and she and I have a fine tuned a couple things. You STILL cannot get a live human on the phone, period.
So, I now have the limo's, various flower deliveries, private fireworks boating, special spa treatments, etc., etc., etc. What I DON'T have (and where you fine folks with all your knowledge and experience can help me), is certain knowledge on what concierge room to try and get. I realize it's pretty much a crap shoot... from al I have read on various boards and in various reviews there are some really BAD experiences out there at AKL and I want to try and avoid that if at all possible. I'm dropping probably somewhere around $15,000 on this and I don't want it to be spoiled by having to return to a room that overlooks the freakin' dumpster or something.
While price is not really a problem, I refuses to pay the exhorbitant amounts they want for their suites (knowing what you get for your money), just as a matter of principle. So, I'm stuck in the single room scenario. We won't realy have THAT much time in the room anyway, but I want to at least TRY and make everything as perfect as possible for the wife. She is a REAL animal lover (we have 5 critters we care for) and the whole reason for choosing this (aside from her earlier hints) rather than the GF (where I KNOW how to get excellent service), is so that she can have lots of animal viewing. I have seen a wide variety of first hand reports and suggestions but rarely do those suggestions link the concierge floors with specific viewing areas. I tried to read this thread but my eyes glazed over quickly (just WAY too much "gushing" for me, sorry) and so if this information is to be found here already, please accept my appologies in advance.
Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I know I can't ask for a specific room. What I want to do is be armed with information if we show up and get put in a worn down room overlooking the parking lot and I have to put the wife in the lounge with a glass of wine while I go and try to wheedle my way into something more appropriate for an anniversary trip. I already have my backup plans for leaving the place all together in the event of impasse' on room changes but am still fairly clueless on what to at least ask for in room location for our current reservation.
Thanks in advance for anything you might offer.
Bob
OH, terribly sorry, I suppose I should put one of thse things in here, too. Hmmm... how about: :wave2:

Bob,
It sounds like you are planning a wonderful anniversary surprise for your wife.
When we have stayed on the concierge level, our rooms were located on the Arusha Savannah, Zebra Trail. This is the main savannah overlooking Arusha Rock. The restaurants and pool are on the Zebra Trail side of the building.
The concierge level offers a Sunrise Safari (AK/breakfast) and a Sunset Safari (AKL/dinner). Both safaris are great experiences. Check with the concierge staff to see if there are any openings for these safaris. They are really popular.
Jiko, Boma and Mara are all great places to eat. For a romantic dinner, make reservations for Jiko--excellent food and great wine. Boma has great dinner and breakfast buffets. Mara is a counter service restaurant.
I hope this helps getting you started. If you have any particular questions, feel free to ask. There are plenty of AKL lovers here to assist you.

Thank you kindly for your information. We are already reserved for the Sunset Safari on our last evening which includes the dinner at Jiko. Afterward we'll be limo'ed over to Ft. Wilderness for a carriage ride.
The Arusha savannah seems to be where we would want to be then. Something tells me this will be sheer luck if I pull this off, but I can only try. Now, should I call the reservations folks to have them make some kind of note or send email to "Sue" at AKL concierge office with that request? Something tells me that if I just walk up to the desk on arrival and ask I'm going to be SOL. From what I've seen, the 4th of July week is more than extremely busy and I'm sure that all rooms will be spoken for...

We will be staying for our first ever AKL stay in December - I changed the ressie from Pop and it is just the kids and I (DH can't join us until after we have moved to the Contemporary) and we are really excited.
We are staying for 5 nights and I wondered what activities there are for kids to do in and around the resort (sorry if this is posted somewhere within the previous 148 pages :surfweb: )

I "myself" would call the Concierge staff. But you could call or email them.
Tell them you would like to make requests for your room. Since you are celebrating your 10th anniversary, you really want this to be a trip you and your wife will always remember.
5th Floor, Arusha Savannah, Zebra Trail
Smoking or nonsmoking
King or two queens
I always felt better when I talked to them directly. Occasionally, I would email them about some reservations I wanted, and Don would call me almost immediately.
Any more questions?
Good luck!

Hello & welcome! Here are a few activites that might interest your children:
**There is an evening storytelling program at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Join an animated story teller, as he shares folklore, stories and tales.
This usually takes place around the fire pit outside of the resort. Ask for
a schedule at guest services
**There are so many activities that are offered at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Here are just some of the activities that may be offered during your stay:
Horticulture Activity, Animal feedings, Spirit of Africa Art Tour, Animal
Tracking-Arusha Rock , Medallion Crayon Rubbings, Cookie Decorating, Pool
Activities, Children's Arts & Crafts, African Rag Doll Making Culinary
Tour of Africa, The Music of the Savanna, African Games & Crafts, African
Folktales, and Animal Viewing with Night Vision goggles. Maker sure you
look at the back of your resort map when you check-in activities are listed
there.
**Make use of the sunset savannah lounge and overlook. It is a wonderful
spot to see Animals, especially at sunset.
I am surprising my 2 ds with a stay here, they think we are staying at PC. I can't wait

First and foremost, let me give you a big "JAMBO!" :welcome: to our neck o' de woods! Boy, it sounds like you are OOAK [[i]"One Of A Kind"] and your wife is a very lucky lady! ;) There are 2 major things to consider when requesting a concierge room - 6th floor rooms have views of the Sunset Savannah (on the left, or 'above' the check-in counter) or the pool area (the section over Boma). The advantage to a 6th fllor room is that it is the floor with the concierge lounge and NO ONE but concierge guests may access this floor. For a slightly BETTER view, you can request 5th flloor - Zebra Trail, but when you want to visit the lounge, you must use the elevators or the private staircase. Be assured that you definitely WILL NOT get a view of the garbage cans, parking lot, or any other less-tha-desireable view....and CONGRATS on your 10th anniversary! party:

WOW !!!!! After 2 days I finished reading all 147 pages.. :thumbsup2
I wanted to say Thank You to everyone for the great info and wonderful pictures... :cheer2:
I booked our first Christmas trip Dec. 17-19 Pop... Then moving to AKL Dec. 19-25 ( DD13 Christmas present)..What is the best way to transfer resorts.. ( no car)
I only have one concern . I have to use a ecv due to back problems I can only walk a short distance, So any room suggestions.. ( I booked savannah view and requested non smoking)
Thank You..
First Welcome Taekwondo! I just wanted to address your ECV use at AKL, and maybe set your mind at ease. My DH used one on our last visit due to leg problems. The AKL is very user friendly for ECV's. You will be able to place your ECV in the room over next to the TV. Just make sure you set up the area first for the charger and a plug near by. I would request a room on the main savannah not too far from the lobby.
The only problem we ran into at AKL is the elevators are very quick to shut. It was good that I was there as I could hold the door while DH pulled into the elevator. Everyone was very nice and we never got any strange looks. My DH can walk, just not for long distances.
I hope you have a wonderful vacation. :wave2:

Thank you for your advice, but I'm afraid that the concierge folks do not answer the phone, at least that has been my experience. I tried calling a few more times after talking to my "angel of mercy" and always the same response, no matter what time of day. I will try the email, though, at least I have gotten what I THINK are non-canned responses that way (our Sunset Savannah reservation).
I read somewhere that this is extremely busy for them and there are only 3 folks working there or something... rather odd for a known situation to be so poorly anticipated by one of the world's leaders in service... but what do I know...
Hopefully "Sue" will respond in a couple days or a week and let me know if there's anything she can do.
As to additional questions, actually, yes. I have heard that there are areas at night that have employees standing around with night vision glasses for your use. Do you know how late in the evening they are available and if, with appropriate large amounts of money of course, one could possible "rent" or reserve a set for a week? I think Susan would really enjoy that after soaking in the tub post-activities for the day.
Thanks again
Bob

Now THAT, madam, was just what the doctor ordered! Thank you very much for probably the most concise, informative bit of information I have had to date.
As we will most likely not avail ourselves of the hospitality suite very much, I'm not terribly concerned about convenient access. It IS nice to know, though, that access is limited to concierge level guests. (Please, no one read into that last sentence any kind of slight, it's about VOLUME, not quality of people.) I think we'll go for the better view.
OH! I forgot to mention to the other nice person who responded with niformation that I WOULD like a king bed (this is a no-brainer to me... ) and I have heard that there are only two rooms available in concierge with that configuration? I can't believe that, but I have seen it mentioned more than once when folks were talking about their difficulties in getting the rooms they wanted. Anyone know what th eactual status is?
Thanks very much for the great information.
Bob
P.S. Thank you for explaining what "OOAK" meant... I thought it was a typo for "A-OK" at first!
P.P.S. We've actually been together for 20 years... it just took her awhile to slip me a "mickey" to get me to ask!

Hello Bob and welcome,
First, I want to extend you warm wishes for a very Happy Anniversary. In addition, I want to let you know that several of us envy your wife for having such a considerate, loving, romantic and tenacious husband. She is one very blessed woman. (would really love to put a smilie here, but will resist just for you). Oh, :rolleyes1 just can’t do it.
I would recommend that you send an e-mail right away to AKL Itinerary Planning Office (IPO). I would request a King room on the fifth floor, main savannah, Zebra trail. Be sure they are aware that this is your anniversary trip and how important this vacation is to both you and your wife. Make sure you let them know it is a surprise for your wife. You will receive an answer from one of the three (yes, I did say three) CM’s (cast members) in IPO. They are Juanita, Sue and Don. However, last week upon speaking with Juanita she told me they have a couple of the CM’s from the lounge helping them on different occasions. You may hear from a Jeff or Laura. All of the concierge CM’s are wonderful. They will more then happy to help you with anything you may ask.
I have been told there are 16 King rooms available in concierge. I would imagine you will receive one with little or no problem since it is your anniversary. (Important that you tell them it is your anniversary). Also, if you have a medical need for King bed, let IPO know that too. (My husband is 6’4” with a severe leg problem). A queen bed will not work for him.
To answer your question about the night vision glasses. They are available at different locations around the Arusha rock. The guides help you use them and point out where to look. It is quite educational and fun at the same time. I do not know if they have glasses your can rent. I would add that to your e-mail as a question or request. Perhaps they will have a suggestion to help.
I would highly suggest that you check out the concierge lounge area during your visit. It is quite beautiful and the view of the lobby is excellent. The food and beverage items make a nice addition to your day or evening activities. You will be in the lounge on your arrival day, as you will be doing your check-in at the concierge lounge.
When you arrive at AKL, tell the guard at the gate that you are staying concierge. They will call ahead and you should be met at your vehicle by concierge bellmen. They will take your luggage. The bellman should have your room assignment, key and information and they will escort you to your room. You should be given a brief tour of the AKL while they take you to your room. After you have relaxed, you then may go to the concierge to officially “check-in” to the resort. You will not be using the front desk for check-in at all. If you should arrive early in the morning and your room is not ready, they will escort your to the lounge to check-in. Bob, you are staying concierge, you will have one of their best rooms with one of the best views.
From what you have written, you’re planning sounds wonderful. You and Sue will have a super anniversary/vacation. I can assure you that Sue will never forget what all you have planned. If you have any other questions or problems, please feel to contact us. We love to help.
Best Wishes,
Angel

Your private Savannah feast includes:

If interested, call the resort and ask for dining. Also, I'm not sure if the price is still current. Have a great time and Happy Anniversary!

I cannot believe it... I have been contacted by the one, the only... DON! I sent email earlier and this is the fastest response I have received thusfar. I am amazed... agog, even.
As to the availability of king beds... sadly, our addiction is going to cause a problem (as usual). This is what I got a little bit ago:
_______________
Dumela Bob,
I am sorry but there is no room in the hotel that is Smoking and King with arusha view. All of the smoking optional rooms other than the one we have on the 6th floor that looks at the pool are queen bed rooms. All the rest of our Kings are in Non Smoking areas. Which is of these three is most important to you
_______________
So, it would appear that we will be making the best of it in a queen bed (sadly, I am 6' 4" as well as your husband).
And the "smilie" is OK, honest :teeth:
I have had email from both "Sue" and "Juanita"... and now the ubiquitous, "Don". I understand they are busy at this time of year... just don't understand why someone like a Disney doesn't compensate for what they know will occur. I'm afraid that (as evinced by my posts), I'm not as good at using the internet as I might be by talking directly. But, I'll do what I must.. this WILL be as perfect as I can get it or I'll get carpal tunnel trying!
We will be arriving by limo, so I'll be sure the driver is properly instructed in advance. Thank you for that tip.
I have only elaborated on the "tip of the iceburg" as far as my plans go, actually. I have already arranged for 2 dozen Sterling roses (her favorite for the smell, not the longevity) and a "Minnie's Retreat" and "Herbal Tranquility" to be delivered by the Disney florist in advance and to be placed in the room prior to our arrival. On our actual anniversary day, Susan will have a town car at her disposal as she enjoys the Dolphins in Depth (she has been able to swim with dolphins at several of our vacation destinations and just loves it), followed by some pampering at the GF spa with a limo to dinner at Victoria & Albert's where I will have her "upgraded" engagement ring delivered in a desert cup at the end of the meal (the same way she got her first one), followed by a private boat for the fireworks after dinner where they will be playing "our song" on their music machine and she will be presented with a re-creation of her bridal boquet.
Jennifer at Disney florist is one wonderful gal is all I can say... after several pictures of the dried remnants, my mother's notes and one color photo I was able to get ahold of, she thinks she has managed to replicate it accurately. She's also been very helpful in setting up various other deliveries and specialty items throughout our week there.
Again... just a "tip of the iceburg" bit for you.... Heheheh... and after reading the above I'm probalby glad your husband doesn't know where I live. :teeth:
Thank you very much for taking the time to educate me. I have learned a LOT more than I thought I would need to know when I started this and it's only through kind folks such as yourself taking the time to pass along their information that I have been able to do so.
Bob

Best Wishes,
Angel

Wow, this sounds great! Darn it.. I've gotten reservations for each evening appropriate to viewing fireworks (and having a good meal) and don't know what I would cancel in order to make room for this. Well.... wait, there is ONE night... our first... where we were going to go to Ragland Road (Susan is an Irish redhead, thought it would be appropriate)... but that is a Sunday and I have found that a LOT of Disney's special stuff are certain day's only.
However, I will ask and see if it is available, just in case. This would be great!
Thank you for the suggestion. I have not seen it anywhere, nor has anyone suggested it! Price doesn't matter.. not on this trip.

Jambo Bob.......... Welcome!!!
Sounds like you've got it pretty well planned out! Angel gave you a lot of great info. I just wanted to add that the resort also offers a "Savannah Romance Package for 2." It is Private dining set up on your balcony.
Savannah Romance Package for Two - served on your own private balcony $79.99
Your private Savannah feast includes:
Young Field Green Salad with mango vinaigrette
Choice of Any Two Dinner Entrees on the In-Room Dining menu
A Special Dessert made for sharing
Choice of our Cape Indaba Chardonanay; Cabernet Sauvignon; or Blush
If interested, call the resort and ask for dining. Also, I'm not sure if the price is still current. Have a great time and Happy Anniversary!

[QUOTE=AKLGoofy]

I have a couple things from the Disney florist for her evening "tub time".... and after Victoria & Albert's I'm not sure we'd have room for any cake. Are there other things you can think of that might be appropriate? I looked thorugh the whole Disney florist website and the two items with "bath stuff" were all I could find of any real interest. If there is another service or something it would be great to be able to have something different placed in the room each day while we're out... I just don't know of anything.
Heh, also, if anyone knows.... how can I get a couple pairs of "mouse ears" delivered to my home prior to our leaving? We may be older but we still like a bit of fun and I'd love to be able to present her with a set of ears to wear on the plane when I finally have to cough up where we're going so she can pack appropriately.

Hey Bob, Jambo! (Had to do that) I am so happy that you chose AKL as your anniversary treat, as I think it is a lovely romantic lodge. Judging from your plans, you have the romance covered though. (Do you schedule classes for husbands? )
My family stayed on the 5th floor CL in January, and the views were stunning. The IPO are so happy to help, I'm sorry that you got off to a rocky start with them, but it seems as though they are trying to assist you now. I know that both of you will have a wonderful time.
Tinknme: I can feel your pain regarding the dinner for two. My DH is a wonderful man but he would not understand the appeal of a meal out on the balcony. :confused3 Right now, I am living thru ALKGoofy's romantic interlude.

AKLGoofy ~ Jambo! You can order "mouse ears" directly from Disney Merchandising to have sent to your home. They are very helpful there as I have ordered stuff from them. I don't have the number on me right now b/c I am at work but let me know if you want it and I can post it tonight. I have also read that the Conceirge often times can arrange these to be waiting in your room when you arrive at the hotel.
Your trip sounds AMAZING and your wife is a very lucky woman. Have a great time. :thumbsup2 You'll have to give us a mini report when you get back!

The Resort also offers an "In Room Massage Package for couples" . I was also going to suggest looking at Peggys site, her name here is Feralpeg........ check Peggy's sweets and more, she has some great things, or you can "design" your own gift basket. An arrival basket would be wonderful, I did that for my DS. He enjoyed it. As for the ears, I think you could call and have them mailed to you, maybe even personalized. Did you know they have "bride and groom" ears.......... they are really cute. I'll try to find the number for the downtown disney store for the ears.......... if someone has it, post it please!!! Thanks!!

Bob,
The number for Disney Merchandise is (407) 363-6200.
You can order Mickey Ears from them. You might want to get the gold ears and have your names put on them.

Thank you very much for that link. Susan doesn't do much along the lines of sweets except chocolate covered cherries and the only Tiggers this site offers are ones she already has (we devote an entire room in our home to "Tiggerville") so don't think there's anything there for me.
I DID find another place that seemed like they might be able to do some great things: Jane Cartelli at GiftsofaLifetime but they're already booked up during our stay.
If anyone elese knows of "special event" services offered by third parties catering to the Disney resorts, I'd love to know about them.
Thank you again for your suggestions.

Bob, Just send an e-mail. (Yes, I know darn it another e-mail) to Don, Juanita or Sue. Ask to have the ears sent to your home. Be sure to give them a date you would like them to arrive. Give them your credit card number. (I WOULD ASK THEM TO CALL YOU FOR THIS) DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION IN AN E-MAIL.) Your credit card info may already be on file with AKL if so you just need to make a couple of decisions.
1. Do you want standard Mickey Mouse ears? (Black)
2. Do you want the special 50th anniversary ears that are gold on the ear portion and hat?
3. Do you want your names embroidered on the back of the hats?
In addition, you need to let your IPO planners know if this is to be boxed as a gift from AKL package or just a Disney package. Do you want it addressed to you or to your wife?
Another suggestion you and your wife would probably enjoy is
Dine with a

My husband did this as a surprise for me last year. It is a luncheon so you do not have to worry about your dinners you have planned. It is very informative as well as fun and educational. At the end of the luncheon, you will be given a very nice plate to remember your luncheon. The imaginer personalizes the plate to you. This was one of the big highlights of our trip last year. The good is excellent at The Brown Derby.
I pulled up a different price on the Romance Dinner at AKL. It is still quite reasonable. The food is from Jiko and Boma.
AKL CELEBRATIONS AND SPECIAL EVENTS
Our Food and Beverage Department is waiting to assist you with any

I have not experienced this dinner yet. However, it certainly sounds wonderful.
Please keep us updated as how things are going with your plans. It would be so nice if you get back to us when you return and let us know how everything went. Now THAT, madam, was just what the doctor ordered! ...
...Oooohhhh, lookit ME, I'm a MADAM!! :cool1:
P.S. Thank you for explaining what "OOAK" meant... I thought it was a typo for "A-OK" at first!
P.P.S. We've actually been together for 20 years... it just took her awhile to slip me a "mickey" to get me to ask!
...you are quite welcome! And, I agree with Angel - head for the concierge lounge POST HASTE!! At least go there to have a sample of the African wines!!
