:confused3 I will be planning a trip for 8 adults 2 teenagers and 1- 1yearold (to be 21/2 at the time of the trip) in feb of 2006. :hourglass How soon (besides all the good stuff in planning/ps's -- which I love to do) can you book rooms/villas etc for the trip?
we were thinking about a 2br villa and a 1br villa at the WL what is anyone's oppinion on this? :tilt:
Would this be worth considering a Grand Gathering? (I am only used to planning trips for 2 (3 with step son) tops!! :crowded:

The 'official' resort rates for 2006 have not yet been published. You can call CRO or WDWTC and make your reservations at the prevailing rates today, and when the 2006 rates are published, your reservation will be adjusted. I'll be making my reservations for Feb 2006 in about another month or so, and this is the answer I got when I emailed WDW about it.

You have a few options in terms of accomodations. For the number of people that you have, you could either do a one (sleeps 4) and two (sleeps 8) beroom villa or a grand villa (sleeps 12). The grand villas are at SSR, OKW and BWV. I would suggest that you go to the DVC rent/trade board and consider renting points from a DVC member. This can be a great savings for you versus booking the rooms outright.
You will want to work with a DVC member whose home resort is the same as the one you are wanting to stay at, because they can make reservations for you 11 months in advance. This would be the best time to do it.
It is never too early to plan for WDW as you will find that there are so many options with places to eat and things to do. Half the time, making a definite decision on the "little" things is what takes so long because you'll want to do it all. ::MickeyMo

I'm planning our Dec. 2006 trip for group of 12. I've started doing some preliminary gathering of info so I can survey the family and figure out what everyone wants to do. But here are a couple of things for you.
Disney will book rooms 500 days in advance (CM just told me this via phone the other day).
As far as the grand gathering thing, we are going to do it because it gives you access to events that you can only do as part of that traveling party. Worth considering. There are some pretty cool things, so you may as well take advantage while you can.

I'm planning a trip in 2/2006 also. I have my room booked, iteneries (subjected to change) done, and have a calender marked when to make PS's flight reservations etc.

Like others have said, it's never to early to plan.
I'm planning our trip for 1/2008 already. :rotfl2: Of course I keep making changes on where we would like to stay and things like that. Plus DH and I have been talking about adding to the family, so there might be a extra person going along. :)
I like to figure out how much the trip would cost if we were going to WDW this year staying in different resorts, changing how long we stay, things like that.
DH says I'm addicted!!! :rotfl: Oh no, not me. :earsgirl: LOL!!!

I am already planning for April 2006. We have gone in December the last 2 trips, but because I graduate from school this December, we pushed our trip off until April. I am looking forward to the flower and garden show and am already thinking about where we will eat. It is never too early to start planning, before you know it, it will be here :hourglass

Never too early. When we returned from our Jan 2005 trip to the world we made plans for Jan 2006. Air tickets are purchased and Disneys Saratoga Springs is booked. Planning is just as fun as the trip itself....with the major stuff done, I am reading up on restaurants, activites etc.
Enjoy

You're asking a bunch of Disney-obsessed planners, here, what do you think they're going to say??? ;)
Well, I don't even have the "go ahead" from DH yet, and I've been scouting out prices and planning our WDW trip for May of 2006.
I figure I need all the figures, dates, etc. before I officially present it to him.
(Like he doesn't know I'm planning the trip...watching the planning DVD, reading the UOG, saving Disney websites to our "favorites" on the computer...) All part of my evil plan of subliminal messages...
No, it's not too early to plan for next Feb. At least start working on your dates and budget. Then you can spread out those expenses over a year.
Plus, planning is part of the fun!
Good luck!!! :shamrock:
