We will be at DL Dec 30 to Jan 2. My head is spinning with all the hotels there are in the area. We would like to be able to walk to the parks. Possibly have a hotel with a refrigerator and microwave and a breakfast of some sort to save us time. Can someone recommend a hotel. There are a couple Best Westerns I have called on, but you never know what youre really getting. Just something clean and reasonable. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as Best Westerns go, the best one in the area (IMHO) is Park Place Inn which is right across the street from the entrance. (I didn't care for Stovall's, room was kinda beat up, and it was further away.)
I think you might like Desert Inn and Suites. A friend of mine stayed there last month with a family of 5 and she loved it. I believe it has the amenities you mentioned too.

The Desert Inn and Suites is a great place and every room has a microwave, fridge, and they even have a continental breakfast (pretty much danishes and juice/coffee), and it is right across the street from DL. We stay there every year and love it! They do have a website www.anaheimdesertinn.com. It will show the different rooms they have. Have fun!

I would recommend the deluxe rooms at the Candy Cane Inn. The deluxe rooms have both a fridge and a microwave. They also have a deluxe continental breakfast that is usually served pool side as long as the weather is nice. It is in walking distance, but they also have a great shuttle service. We love this hotel!! We always stay here when we go to DL. The grounds are very nicely landscaped and the rooms were redone in 1998. They rooms are very nicely decorated. Good luck with your decision and have a great trip!

I think there is a new Embassy Suites in the Convention area--right near DL. It is a suite-type hotel--you get a seperate living area and bedroom. They offer a made-to-order breakfast every morning and an afternoon reception--very nice. It's a little pricey--but real nice! Each room usually has a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, etc.

Funny about Candy Cane
We stayed there a week ago...paid for a Deluxe room, but didn't get a microwave.
One thing I didn't like about them is the difference from Deluxe/regular. Hmmm...maybe I need a refund?
