I was wondering if anyone could offer any suggestions or places to dine while having a birthday in Disney..... I was hoping to do something special so that the kids would really enjoy it (we are staying offsite)

Any suggestions are appreciated......

Kid's will love Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary! I am sure you could inform them ahead of time about the birthday.

I also give a vote for Chef Mickey. We are having breakfast there on Sunday for my dd's 9th b-day. I made sure to tell them when I made the ps. We also have ps for Cindy's. It will be a first for us and we can't wait!

I think the Chef Mickey's idea is great since the whole restaurant is about celebrating and they sing the song and do the napking twirling which the kids will love. The birthday child will usually get a birthday cupcake and the characters tend to come over to your table while the "celebrate" song is playing.

You don't mention the ages of the children, but you could always consider some of the children's programs available at the Grand Floridian. There is the Wonderland Tea Party (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/teaparty.htm) with Alice, the Pirate Cruise (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/piratecruise.htm) that goes searching for treasure, and the Grand Adventure's in Cooking (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/gacooking.htm) where the little chefs make their own creations. These programs are only for children but I think any one of them would make for a great birthday celebration.

Here are some more ideas, including miniature golf and Disney Quest. Birthday Celebrations (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/birthdays.htm)

There are also Specialty Cruises (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/fireworks.htm) available that would be great for a birthday celebration.

And if you want to go all out you could contact Jane and the pixies to plan an elaborate birthday surprise. Gifts of a Lifetime (http://www.giftsofalifetime.com/)

Hope you have a great birthday celebration! :)

If you are going to the Magic Kingdom that day, make sure to stop in City Hall and get a "birthday badge" for your child. Cm's will usually take special notice of these and ocassionally it will bring some special "magic" your way! :)
