Hello! I was wondering if anyone knew anything about or has been able to do anything in SW where you got to visit with the killer whales or get a tour of Shamu's stadium. Killer whales are my absolute favorite animal  (I even named my cat after the whale in Free Willy!) and it would mean sooooo much to me if I got to do something extra with them other than watching the show. :cloud9: I know there's a slim chance but I figured I'd ask anyway! :fish:
Thank you!

You have two options.
One would be to take the Predators Tour, its $16 and includes the shark encounter and backstage at Shamu Stadium. Predators Tour info here. (http://www.seaworld.com/seaworld/fla/sp_park_tours.aspx)
The other would be to do Dine with Shamu, its $32 for adults and $18 for kids ages 3-9. Dine with Shamu info here. (http://www.seaworld.com/seaworld/fla/sp_dine_with_shamu.aspx)

It is truly wonderful and well worth the money! :Pinkbounc
Your server first tells you where you are sitting in the "arena", which by the looks of things there is not a bad seat in the place! Then they explain about the buffet that is very good, they have cute shamu shaped chocolate covered cookies! Yum! While you eat Shamu is swimming around the arena popping up every once and a while, I truly think that he must know when people are around and pops up to see everyone. There is a trainer that will introduce "Shamu" and then towards the end of the dinner they explain more about the whale that is there and what behaviors they have learned while being at Seaworld. The "show" is about 15-20 minutes and is GREAT!!! Get your cameras ready for those close encounters! You will not get splashed but water may get onto the floor and they warn you to keep belongings in a chair because of this. :umbrella:
It was a highlight of our trip and we will certainly be going again next time! You will not be dissapointed if you enjoy "Shamu"!

I agree completely with onlyonefor me. We did Dine with Shamu last May, and it was the highlight of our trip. Our boys (2 & 5) still talk about it all the time.

We have dined with Shamu three times and really enjoyed it each time. We have also done the Predator's Tour. You get a small tour of Shamu Stadium and then go to the Shark tank. I wasn't too crazy about that part: not particularly fond of walking around the perimeter above the sharks :bitelip:
