I am so excited. I had originally booked National Emerald Reserve full size for 7 days (May 31-June 7) at a rate of $120.31. I just went to check it and I got $115.52! :cool1: I used the Priceless and ET Book codes.

Yes. It is from Priceless Vacations. See www.mousesavers.com under the rental car area for more info on this code.

I need to thank everyone for sharing their National rate successes!!! I thought I had this great rate with Budget for my 10 day trip in April and I just took almost $40.00 off it using the Priceless/Ent combo that everyone is shaing about !!!! Are any of you Emerald Club members? Just want to ake sure there are no glitches combing these 2 with the Emerald Club memebership. I thought when you used a coupon you always had to go to the counter but my reservation says go to the Emerald Aisle to get my car(would love to get one of those G6's!!!!). ::MinnieMo

I was able to knock another $10 off my rental for the end of April (intermediate, 1-week)!

Even better, I used the internet specials to re-book a minivan rental I have for Easter week (Phila area) and I saved $50 off my original ressie! I wouldn't have even thought to look for a better rate if you hadn't posted. Thanks!!!!

For those of you who need minivans, the internet rate for ressies made now until 5/25/2005 is $235! It works for MCO as well as here in Philly. Just click on the "Specials to Go" link near the top of the NationalCars.com website. I was able to get an additional $38.80 off by booking thru the Emerald Club and using the 1-week Entertainment Coupon code.

Thank you-I had cars reserved for 4 day pre and 2 day post cruise. Was able to switch to National and have a lower rate for 10 days even when I include the 4 day port parking. This way it is a lot more convienent. Can leave things in the trunk which we do not need for the cruise and also do not have the mess of taking the shuttle. Thanks again.

I have to wonder if I'm doing something wrong. The best I could get was $128.61 for a week. I have an upgrade coupon, selected compact and reseved Intermediate. I tried Priceless code but found Carlson code to be cheaper. What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi! My rate went down again (3rd time in 2 weeks). It's now at $134 and change (down $8 since Sunday) for an 8 day full size rental 4/30-5/7. I'm using the priceless code and entertainment book coupon. :cool1:

First of all, I have found that you will save more if you use the $20 off coupon with National. The upgrade coupon doesn't seem to save you as much.

What are your dates???

Try these ID's

There is a link posted somewhere on the first couple of pages of this board where you can print the $20 off coupon.

for an intermediate off the aisle with a base rate of $159.99. With Priceless and Ent. coupon the rate ended up at $150.99 with tax.

Just checked again (have been checking all week) and the rate dropped. So I rebooked and now have an intermediate w/ tax for $108.81 for the week. Our tentative travel dates are 11/5-11/12.

are any of you renting a full size for 10 days? I have been checking daily for rate reductions and it finally went down today ($5.00 less) so now we're at $203 for full size, 10 days 8/28 - 9/2. Just wondering if I might find the rate lower as the dates draws closer and what others have been able to get full sizes for for 10 day rentals. Thanks!

Finally, June rates seem to be starting to go down. I just checked my Full Size for 6/23-7/1 and it dropped by about $5. OK, granted it's not much, but it is the first time it has moved since I made my original ressie a couple of months ago.

Lets hope it keeps moving in that direction...

I had a reservation for a full size for 11 days Oct.1-11th for $235.22 and was pleased with it. Thanks to these boards I checked it today and it had gone down! I'm now getting my 11 days for $198.54!!!! I think thats is an awesome rate. I'm using the priceless contract and the $20 coupon. Does anyone know if I can also apply the AARP discount to make it even cheaper??

littlestix ~
if you don't mind me asking, what was your base rate for the 7 days and what was the daily rate for the remaining days? I am using the same codes (priceless & entertainment) as you and paying a little more for 1 less day. The only thing I can think of is that our dates are still in a higher rate period ~ maybe because it is still summer time. Do the rental agencies work like that ~ higher rates for higher travel seasons?

Hope this is enough info.

Thanks to everyone here, I have joined EA and saved about $40.00 on my current reservation. I used the Priceless code, but for some reason, it will not allow me to add the entertainment book coupon.....

I put the priceless code where it should be and the entertainment coupon number where it asks for coupon code and it tells me error on page and will not go any further.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Check to make sure you are meeting the requirements of the coupon. The $20 off coupon requires a 5 day min. rental. Other coupons have certain restrictions.

I had a weird browser at work. It would not give me a coupon box so I would have to do my checking from home.... it was really weird....

Try a different browser and check the coupon rules.

Wow! I tried the initial coupon with the provided code numbers for a week rental from Denver in peak ski season. Then I redid it this way and it was even less. I was really surprised at the high cost of rentals from Denver.....with this I got it to about $150! Hooray! :cool1:

While I've never been asked to show my Entertainment Card when checking out with a coupon, it never hurts to have one just in case.

I just wanted to add that I was able to get my rate down to $101.80 for a one-week rental of an intermediate using the Priceless code and the Entertainment coupon. But even better yet, when I use the product code WEBK, I was able to book a full-size for only $109.49 for the same dates! For under $8 more, I'm getting more trunk space and legroom! Whooot! Whooot! :cool1:

Yup, June is falling! WHO HOO!
After 2 weeks of checking with an already very good rate during July 4th, the rate went down another $6.50. I am not down to $191.21 for a 10 day rental intermediate emerald aisle for 10 days.

That is a very good rate. The best I could get last October was $250.00 for a similar rental.

And I am at the 4-month mark today. Only 120 days to go!

Does anyone think that the price drops are due to Dinsey's Magical Express? It's really going to take a big chunk out of profits for the car companies. For the first time I am considering not having a car in Disney. Really don't need it.

That's an excellent rate for 12 days and you should be happy with it. It breaks down to about under $16 a day. I'm paying $268 for a 16 day rental which is a little more than $16 a day and this is one of the best rates I've ever gotten. I got a base rate of $110 a week for 2 weeks and 2 days. Your rate may drop a tad more, but don't be disappointed because you did very well! I used the same discounts as you. What was your weekly base rate?

My rate has gone from $237 for 10 days in December (at Xmas) for a full sized car to $487 for a compact/$502 for an intermediate/$516 for a full sized car.

I am thinking about not renting a car, and just using Disney transportation. But, we need to get off site for mass on Xmas, and I figure it might be convenient for our varied PS's we'll make (like Boma)

I mean, if we eat at Boma after going to AK, how will we get back to Poly, if the park is closed?

With a combination of codes, I was able to save $30 AND get a bigger car for our week in May. That will be nice since we'll have my mother along. My only regret is that I will now have to go to the counter instead of straight out to the car but I think it's worth it. (My husband and I have a long history of getting separated while he gets luggage and I get the car)

Hello all. Sorry in advance if my countdown ticker isn't working. Going May 7th thru the 22nd. Started looking with Alamo on January 7th for a full size for all 15 days.

After taxes and discounts, I had $366.02. I tne switched to National after reading many DIS posts on February 16th.

Just rebooked today and I have come down almost $100 to $272.54.

Thanks DIS posters!

I saved $30 by rebooking! I went from base rate of $126.89 for 14 days on an intermediate emerald aisle, total with taxes was $259.82. The new rate is base $111.95 for a total of $231.18! WEBK8 gave a couple more dollars off over WEBK. I joined the emerald club (for free :) ) and printed off the Entertainment coupon. We are leaving in 1 week! :cool1: I will check later and see if it goes down more. Be careful when refreshing the page or going back as the rate does change for some reason.

you can find a link to join Emerald Reserve for free through this link:

http://www.mousesavers.com/national.html#emeraldclub

The Priceless code is from Priceless Vacations, but you do not need to show any documentation when you arrive at National. There is some information on this code on the link above also.

Did you use the entertainment book coupon for your reservation too? The one most people here are using is coupon # 10009123, which is $20 off minimum 5 day rental. I believe you can print the coupon off National's site (if not, there is a link to the coupon on this board somewhere ~ I'm sure sombody will provide you with the link if needed)

I'm not really sure if you need to cancel and rebook through Emerald Club. Maybe you could call National and have them add your Emerald Club # to your existing reservation?

If you have to cancel and rebook, I would book the new reservation first to be sure you get the same great rate then cancel the original reservation.

This is the first drop for the September rates and I think they are significant. Now if only I could decide if I want to go Labor Day week or NJ Teachers' Convention week.

You are in the same boat as us. I decided to gamble, and hope for something bigger on the EA. We might be in for a tight fit, back, and forth to the airport. :crowded: For that price, I will sit in the back with the kids, and put luggage on the front seat.

That's exactly what I said. I'm pretty sure we can fit everything! I have a Nissan Altima at home and have loaded that trunk up with tons of stuff. I'm optimistic I can do the same with an intermediate. :cool1:

I printed the Entertainment Book coupon...but I don't have an entertainment book. Do I need one to use the coupon?

No you do not. If you only do the on-line subcription, then you will never have a book or a card. That is how I got my coupon, via the free 10 day offer. And for our trip in october, the attendant didn't even want to see my coupon, she was happy knowing that I had it, but did not want to take it from me. :confused3

P.s. I am now down to $99.xx (all included) for my 7 day rental from April 30- May 6th. Inter, EB coupon, priceless. :cool1:

When I first started planning this trip, I told myself we'd get a car if we could get a decent rate. I shopped a lot on line and came up with Avis @ $280 with tax for 10 days for a full sized car. I thought that was a really good rate. Then yesterday I visited the Transportation Board for the first time in a long time and started playing around with codes again. I'm down to $178 with National for the same 10 days. $102 savings! Thanks, everybody! :goodvibes

missypie-----When are you going?? I'm going Oct.1-11th and got a National rate for a full size car for $198.00. It's a GREAT price isn't it. I'm so excited to save some money on the rental, I think we might go to Mickey's Backyard BBQ.

Checked again today. Down another $10 to $262 for 2 weeks and a day!

I have reserved a full size car from national using the EB coupon, i joined the emerald club with the free membership from Mousesavers. Now, the EB code says that you cannot use any other discount with the coupon, Can I go back and book again with the EB, priceless and the emerald reserve? If not, how do i use the bypass the counter feature of the Emerald club? Do i call and have it added to my existing reservation.

UPDATE----I went back and re-reserved and dropped my rate another 10 dollars to 110 for a week with a full size car. I am doing the happy dance
