View Full Version : possibility of an OKW Grand Villa Thanksgiving week....?

How tough is it to get a Grand Villa at OKW the week of Thanksgiving? The reason I'm asking is because we've already reserved a 1 BR and 2 BR at BCV (home resort) Nov 19 - 25th for my family but now I'm thinking maybe we'd enjoy trying out the Grand Villa (there are 12 of us). That, plus I noticed it would be 100 points less for us to stay at the Grand Villa than it would be if we had the 2 units at BCV.

Also, can anyone give me their impressions of the GV at OKW...have you ever stayed there with 12 people? Was it roomy enough?

I think you will find it difficult to get a GV for the week of Thanksgiving. There may be availability for the 19th (Saturday), but I would bet the weeknights were booked at 11 months. Thanksgiving is a popular time for OKW GVs. You might try calling MS and see if they will tell you what's open right now or if there is a waitlist already.

Difficult it may be, and it won't get any easier while you dally around in here. The best way to find out if you can get a ressie is to *call them now* and try to get one. Then, if there is no availability, get on a waiting list if you can. My wife has done that at BWV a couple of times with good results.

She can't because it's not her home resort. She can't get a reservation there until April.

At least you have rooms reserved at the BCV. At 7 months call day by day and go on a waiting list.

We own at OKW and couldn't get a GV for Thanksgiving week at 11 months out. Please let us know if for some reason you do get one.

Wow....I guess we can forget about that idea if you couldn't even get one!
We haven't been to OKW yet and since we have a group of 12, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try it since it's costing us 100 points more to get the 1 BR and 2 BR at BCV.

Oh well, we'll have to try it another time.

Ahh yes, I see. One of those fine points that are the reason my dear partner does all of this for us! What about booking a GV retail, and calling about points in May or June? Can always cancel the retail res. Depending on how much you really want the OKW GV, might this not work?

well...actually, I'm not really that set on needing to get into OKW. We really like our home resort and most of our family has not been to BCV so I know they'll love it. We're treating them by using banked and borrowed points and I just thought if I could swing something for all of them using fewer points, it would be great. I guess we can always check out OKW at another time.

As long as we have something booked for that week, I'm happy.
