I just called today to see if AP or FL Resient rates were out for May. Nothing past 4/16. Someone had mentioned they'd be out on Jan 2. Knew it was too good to be true! I don't know if there is another May/June codes watch, but let's get it started! No emails or postcards please!!! Historically I don't think they've been released until at least mid-Jan.

bring on the codes :cool1:

I'm waiting for codes for May as well. I read somewhere on here to look for them Jan 2, but I didn't think that would happen. With MYW starting today, there's no way the reps would be able to handle all those calls plus have a code start. I'll keep watching and waiting.

I had reported on another thread that AP codes may be available today. That was the information I had received when I contacted CRO last week.

That being said, I took the information in the same way I take all info from Disney cast members. Hopeful, but skeptical.

It would be nice to see them today though (or within the week).

I think historically they have not been released this soon for May and June. I was thinking more like March. We have our reservations at POR, so our TA will make our changes for us. I just sit back and wait for her email to tell me that we have had a rate change. Now if Disney will do their part.

I'm also waiting for AP rates. I need two Fridays and Saturdays. 13/14 and 20/21. I will be at BWV with DVC in between but I don't want to use points for the weekends that way my Sept trip can be all DVC.

And last year rates for May and June did come out on March 9th, my daughters birthday. I told her how special Disney thought she was that they were giving us a discount. (she did not buy it, she knows what AP rates are...lol)

So hang in there , they will come right when we all have nervous breakdowns.
The waiting is the hardest part., oh and the park hours, and the PS's and the....it is all worth it in the end.

Take it easy,

Me too! We need codes for early June. We booked the MYW package for 6 nights. If they come out with a room code will it apply or does it have to be a package code. We saved a TON with these codes during our stay last year but we didn't book a package.

Throw me in the mix....I'm looking at the 2nd week in June for a 8 Day / 7 Night stay on-site.

Hoping for some good non-AP codes.....

Last year...we went on a 7 for 4 Dreammaker deal via Disney Visa at Pop Century.

This year I'm hoping to stay at a moderate for around $89 per night if possible.....

I originally wanted to buy an AP and return next year around Mardi Gras (mid-February 2006)....but, these MYW tickets are cheap enough to purchase a 7 day base ticket for each of us this time and another 7 day base ticket for next time so we are not restricted on going within 365 days of our first visit.....

We too are waiting for codes for May 8-13. I have a room only at WL at rack rate and I am playing a waiting game on Disney for the codes to come out. I am not holding up too well, I can't decide whether to get AP pass,(probably won't return for a few years), joing AAA and get their discount or take my chance on codes coming out and hoping Small World Vacations TA will have code applied. I was looking at the code history on Mousesavers and it looked like the room only code for 2004 came out around March 9. I am open for suggestions if anyone can calm my anxiety!

Absolutely correct--March 9, 2004 APs were released for 4/16/04 through June (maybe early July???) and, I believe, February 22, 2004 was a general code for discounts. APs were somewhat limited--more so than in years past. We were not able to get an AP rate, but had already received a DVISA rate which was equivalent to a general code issued in February.

Hang in there everyone--it's still early. :grouphug:

It's not too late, if you want to use that code you still can. You can call a CM and they can look up your history. If they have emailed you they will have it in the system and can apply the code.

I'm confused. You can get a discount to a reservation you have already made? We have a reservation May 7-14. I just booked a room only reservation as per advice through mousesavers. Thank you for your help.

Tess
01-10-2005, 05:07 PM
When the discounts are released and if there is availability at your resort for your room type (or others), you can certainly apply a code to your existing reservation. Sometimes the codes/discounts do not apply to all room types and sometimes not to all resorts--it really depends upon how many rooms WDW is trying to fill and where. Typically there are rates available for a wide variety of resorts and room categories. Hope that helps you nicanna!

I got an email just this weekend. When I called, the CM said the discount code info was in their system. I didn't need to actually give her the discount code. You should be able to call and give them your name, address, phone and email information and get the discount without actually having the code.

Guess I'll add myself to the list! :cool1: I made my ressie yesterday at the POFQ for the 2nd week of May but if codes come out I'd love to move to a monorail resort or perhaps the AKL. I booked one of the packages with the dining plan.

I really wish I could get a 7 night package and buy the 10 day MYW tickets. I'd like to get the plus features and make them non-expiring so I can use them on another trip in the future (I don't get AP's cause we don't go every year).

Yes, I called and told them I had possibly deleted an email and if they could look me up to see if I had received anything. The CM was wonderful and took about 10 minutes because he said they had 3 email addresses on file for my husband and I. He couldn't find anything (darn) but it sure is worth a try. Im waiting for a code for early May. Last year I am pretty sure they came out in February for May. We have AP, but it runs out on May 5, naturally thats when the 50th celebration begins. I am hoping that they plan to offer it this year.

With the celebration starting in May I am wondering if they will forgo offering codes for May and June. I got an email today (no code, just an ad) that offered dates 1/1-2/16/05, 8/28-10/24 and 11/27-12/19. That was for 6 night/7 day stay starting at $1800 for moderate (included base ticket for 4 people)

BUT NO MAY!

I didn't check into it at all because I'm already booked for late July and can't change my dates due to our Disney Cruise. It was from Walt Disney same as other pin codes I've gotten, and I had just requested a copy of the cruise dvd yesterday before receieving the code today.

edited to add I just checked it, its actually good April 17 through July 4th. And oops I do see a couple of people mentioned it. Still happy to help if anyone has questions.

Jenny, last year in early June we got Coronado Springs standard view for around $99 per night including tax. I know it was in the high 90's but can't remember the exact amount. This was with a Disney VISA code. I'd love to get that again!

Called last night--checking to see if I had an email code. C.M. said that no codes were attached to my name :guilty:
I asked about possible Disney Visa codes, and she said that if they did come out it would be around the first of March as has usually been done for reservations after April. She asked when I was going, and I said the first of June. She said, "Oh, our information goes only to (and she said some date in April that I don't remember.)"

According to a CM I recently spoke with she said to check in early February and she thought they should be out by then. She said she wasn't sure with the activities starting on May 5 that the discounts would be as good as they might have in the past.

Count us in on the wait to! We decided on AKL but are going to wait till (at the latest) till mid-February to book our honeymoon trip!!! *cheers happily* We figured we could wait that long and still get a savannah view after talking to a few CM's, who all said they shouldn't get booked up by then for when we are going, and that way we can see if our AAA discount is better than buying 2 Annual Passes and getting that room only rate! I posted a thread a bit ago asking when May discounts normally come out and a few people answered saying that in years past they came out as late as mid-March thought! :( I certainly hope they are out earlier though so heres to crossing fingers! :earseek: :earboy2: :jumping4:

Why pay that much for a value resort? Who did you go through. I would call disney direct using the 1877 #. I got savanna view at AKL for just $135 a night. I think the CM said that the POP was only $49. I am going May 7-14(also regular season). THat is way too much for a value resort! Call back and use the may code you will get it for $49. You must have gotten a special because those prices aren't available yet for eveyone for May. Codes are only out through mid April. You may have had a code in the system under your name. missiowa, if I am not mistaken, is the OP of the thread that got everyone all worked up about a email/postcard code she got. She gave it to a lot of people who called Disney to use that postcard/PIN only code.

WOW! That seems like alot. I called tonight just to check on AP rates (which I was told not till end of March, which I find hard to believe they won't release them till 3 weeks prior, but who knows) and rack rate for that time $99/night. Even with tax, you're paying too much.

In 2003 they were released 1 week prior to the starting dates at the end of April (they were released on April 21st, for stays 4/28 - 7/3)

Kathy,
I just innocently called one day and said I thought I had accidentally erased an email with a discount for rooms on it and asked them if they could check my account to see if I did. My CM was wonderful and took about 10 minutes searching the system. Unfortunately nothing came up but he explained to me that it was a marketing thing with codes and they look at accounts and if they thought a code offered to you would help you to extend your stay or bump you up to a different resort or book a vacation if you hadn't booked one yet. I hope you have the luck I did but the CM can find something for you in your case : )

Wow! The OP really needs to call CRO & check this out!
If they're arriving in Regular Season then they are being
charged $10 + tax more per room per night - yikes!
I only know about the difference that I posted because
before CRO got a discount for me I was paying
Peak Season rack rate - ouch!
And with tax it was the $123 & change quoted previously.

Gotta watch those dates/codes/rates when booking,
sometimes mistakes happen...

I called and asked if there was a FL resident discount for May and she said that they weren't released yet, but she would check the rates for me. I said sure, so she entered my name and the resort and all of our info, just as she would if we were booking the room and she said, it looks like you have a discount attached to your name for $59 a night. I was very surprised. She said I have to book the room before 1/28 to get the discount.

Hi Sheka28,

The July 4th holiday is one of the more crowded times at WDW so you may want to keep that in mind. It's probably the 3rd most crowded time of year at WDW under Christmas and Easter. That said, I went once on July 7-12 and did not find it to be too bad after the holiday. I have not been on the actual holiday.

The weather in July is hot but not unbearable. I've been and didn't find it to be too bad. 80's-90's every day with an afternoon rain shower likely each day to cool things off a bit. There are plenty of places in each park (with the possible exception of AK) to get out of the heat for a while, rides, restaurants, shops etc.

You should be okay weather-wise, but be prepared for some heavy crowds around the 4th.

Sept is much less crowded. You may be able to get a code on www.mousesavers.com for that time as time goes on. :) They just are not out yet.

Well, I just spoke w/CM. She was great. I told her I had been calling quite often to find out if May codes are out. She went over my usual info and they interjected that she used to live in CT. We chatted a bit more I found out she getting Married on the day I arrive in WDW. She reviewed the codes that are out and stated that they don't expire a code with out another code(discount) being offered. She seemed pretty convinced that codes would be out Feb 1 :earseek: but also said if not then then Feb 17. I feel she was trying to give me her most educated guess. We continued to talk alittle more about her upcoming wedding and honeymoon at OKW for $190 a night. Sounds like a great price. Well I wished her all the best and right before we finished talking she quickly verified my email address. Maybe I am just being very hopeful but do you think :earboy2: a email is coming my way?

I need codes too, but I know that I have to relax until they come.

Be diligent about checking here and other sources for codes. I have come to find that folks at CRO don't know for sure when codes are coming out, they are just guessing.

Mary at www.mousesavers.com always knows right when codes come out and she posts them immediately. In fact, she has been known to know a few days before they actually come out and she will post, "AP codes coming out on Monday, check back then" or something like that.

Mary has never steered me wrong and her site is the first I check every day, many times a day.

Good luck everyon!

It seems the past few times AP codes have come out, I've gotten a email from Disney the day before saying they'd be out "tomorrow". I didn't renew my AP this year :sad2: so I don't know if I'll still get that email or not. Has anyone else gotten that email before?

I called last night spoke to a nice CM "Monroe". There is a discount out for May from AAA- Im not sure what it is, it's usually 15%. I was asking about dates May 3-9th.

You can book a room, and apply the code to the existing reservation when it comes out and the reservation is cancellable up to 5 days prior to your trip. (I know some of you already know this, but I figure it's good to post for those who don't)

May codes typically come out sometime during the first 2 weeks of February. I want to say they came out on Feb 12th last year...

Codes can be found at times here....
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/tickets/packageListing?id=SpecialOfferListingPage

(theres nothing there right now)
You can also find this link by going to Tickets and Reservations and then look for the "Special Offers" link.
OR Google "Disney World Resort Special Offers"
(again, nothing right now)

What would your advice be.... I have two reservations right now for May 7-14. One is a room only and the other a package. I have to choose which one to go with because on January 29, I have to cancel the package if I don't want to continue the reservation. It seems that the AP discount won't possibly be out until Feb sometime. Should I cancel the package and hope that I can snag an AP discount( which should save us about $1500 if it is a 30% discount for Poly) or keep the package which is about $4900 with tickets and meal plan. Thanks for your input.
Nikki

Selket
01-26-2005, 09:24 AM
Nikki - can't you put a deposit down on the package to hold it up until 45 days before your trip? If you cancel before 45 days out you get a full refund of the deposit - which is about $200 I think.

We are also hoping to go that very same week and I plan to stay at the Poly if I can get a discount. Right now however I have package ressies at the POFQ because that is more in line with our budget if we have to pay rack rates.

I'm also anxiously awaiting the AP codes. I'm trying to decide if we should go with the pkg. (including dining) or AP discount. I was reading about the possibility of holding 2 ressie - 1 pkg, 1 rm only. My thought was that if AP discount was not that great or if it doesn't materialize at all, that I could, then, change my room only ressie into a pkg. Am I right about that?

Thanks for the help. My first family trip to Disney is June 25th!

Can you book now without a discount code, then when a code becomes available get the discounted rate??

You can only get the discounted rate if there is a room available at that resort.
Most people only book what they can afford, in case there aren't discount rates.

I'm copying this from susy post's in another thread because I think this explains it well:
The more rooms that are booked ahead of time, the less the rooms that will be discounted. Codes are not "applied" to your room. Your room is sold when you book it (at rack rate). When you get a discount, it's on a room that has not yet been sold. So, if there are no rooms available at the code rate, you pay the rate you agreed to

Thanks for posting this information. I'm always amazed how many folks don't seem to understand this logic If everyone is holding a rack rate room at WL, then WL has NO NEED to discount rooms. I've seen WL not offer discounts one year, and the next year CSR did not offer rooms--why, probably because they didn't need to because they were full of full paying guest. Remember the year that there were NO AP discounts for the entire month of September? I do.

I'm lucky right now because my husband gives his blood, sweat and ears to the mouse and we enjoy booking our discounted room well in advance. But let me mention, that even the discounted room for CMs for the month of May went VERY quickly and I've read many posts that there is nothing available at a discount rate now. One day I will be relying on AP discounts again for rooms, so am happy that they offer such nice discounts when they are available. But I know there are no guarantees, I see myself booking alot of ressies at the value resorts when that day comes. Good luck to all. I have several friends who are waiting for codes to be released, so I am watching for them so they can snag a code too. :earsboy:

CBCit
01-27-2005, 08:39 PM
Although it makes sense that there won't be discounts if to many rooms are booked, the CMs encourage you to do so,even when you tell them you are waiting for a discount to become available. I called about 3 weeks ago just to be sure there were no discounts available and the CM convinced me to make my reservation and wait and see. She said something should be out shortly and reminded me I could cancel the reservation up to 5 days before. It sort of becomes a waiting game,do you book and hope for a code, not book and hope all the rooms aren't taken when you finally get a code, and basically make yourself crazy checking all the websites daily(I'll confess, usually twice a day)!

EEyorelover22
01-27-2005, 08:55 PM
This may be cynical and after all I am Eeyorelover22, but if I ran Disney World I would encourage bookings and train CMs that way and fill as many rooms at rack rate and only offer as many codes to fill the rooms needed to be the most efficient for a particular resort because as Cheif Mouse I want to make as much money as possible. I would think that WDW would know how many rooms have to be full and at what price to make money.

The other side to that is by encouraging people to make reservations they already are planning to cancel, they have to deal with filling those rooms possibly at the last minute, when no codes come out and the cancellations start pouring in!I would bet that the day codes come out they spend alot of time on the phone rearranging peoples reservations in order to apply the discounts.

Discount codes become available at Disney's whim. They are typically for the general public; Annual Passholders; Disney Visa cardholders; etc. They are sometimes for "room only" reservations (saving you $$ on the rate per night) or for packages.

Codes have not been released yet for anytime beyond April 16 for the public, AP holders, or Florida residents. Many on this board are hoping they will be released soon. Once released, you will need to call Disney (or your TA if you booked through one) to see if you can have the code applied to your reservation. There are a limited number of rooms at each resort for each night under the code, so the sooner you call once released, the better. Hope this helps!

Hopefully the AP Codes will come out soon. My husband and I are going to stay at POFQ from May 21 - June 1. We have stayed at POR 2 years in a row and then BW last year for our Honeymoon and loved them both. This year we would really like to stay at the BC but without AP codes we will have to stay at a Moderate for our stay since it's for 11 nights. Rack rates for the Deluxe Resorts are too much for us for that many nights and I can't get him to split the stay between two Resorts. So let's all keep our fingers crossed. I'm so impatient though. I remember going through this last year too. But we ended up going in July instead of our usual time of May/June. I'll never do that again. When I called a few days ago I was told to call back the first week of Feb. The Girl I spoke to before that told me about three months out. That would also be around the first of Feb. That is different than what I have been hearing. Most folks say around the first of March. Who knows (except Disney) when they will be out.
